Finally made it ! Not impressed at all. Atmosphere is very nice , but it's very small and crowded. I ordered a tequila old fashioned It was very tasty, but it was 1 1/2 oz. We got the bill, and they charged me 37.00!!! When I questioned it, they told me that they gave me Don Julio 1942. I didn't ask for that. Bartenders were friendly and drinks were good. Food was not worth the way expensive price tag. Prices are even more expensive than the menus online. A gentleman came in and started touching all the herbs and straws with his bare hands, then picked the herbs up that are used for their drinks and put them all up to his nose touching his nose with the herbs and then put them back. I let the bartender know because it was disgusting and the bartender said "believe it or not, that's the owner". I would not go back. read more

If I could leave zero stars for this review I would. I really wanted to like it and was so excited when it opened. Four of us went for a nightcap a few weeks ago. The $18 they charge is insane to get an on the rocks glass filled only halfway for a vodka and club soda! I have never experienced that before at any bar or restaurant. I was willing to give the place another try and called to ask about purchasing a bottle of wine from the retail part of the store which is part of the bar to open there and was told I would be charged a $25 corking fee! So basically you're buying their wine which they are already making a profit on and they're charging you more to drink it there! That's double dipping in my opinion. When I mentioned this to the owner on the phone he told me to never come into his bar again and hung up! Good luck and good riddance if this is how you are planning to treat people. There are plenty of other bars and restaurants in the area where I can order two drinks for what this place is charging for one. read more

Beautiful decor. Friendly service. Great concept. Unfortunately, the execution just wasn't there. I was expecting a bit more sophistication. The negroni wasn't served cold enough. The white wine, which the server recommended as "popular" (rarely a reliable criteria, I don't know why we let ourselves get talked into it) was disappointing. The charcutier platter was uninspired and the cheeses bare minimum (in terms of both selection and portion). If this place wants to have game and justify their prices, the owners are going to have to commit a bit more to training the staff and emphasizing quality. read more

Their staff's exceptional devotion to their tradecraft sets them apart than any other lounge, bar, or tavern in the area. Most notable are Jackie and Marvin, who are engaging, cordial and above all...skilled at mixology. Before meeting this duo I'd never fully understood the patron-barkeep relationship for all its benefits. We often spend the evenings sipping their delectable concoctions as we speak about our passions for artistic outlets such as photography, comedy, film, and motor sports. Now that I've been arriving early for their delicious cuisine, they really are the complete package. Newcomer,Bella, also shows great promise.Their devotion to mentoring recent hires coupled with her obvious proficiency for the service industry is quite apparent. Bravo, Andrew Matarese! The ambiance is cool (good first date place) bartender is knowledgable and service is good. But, there really is hardly any food! All the bar food is brought in from another place. So menu has only about 8 things on it. The chips 'tortilla' and guacamole are not tortillas they are heavily fried like the Chinese food crispy things you get when you order Chinese food. If you are into NYC expensive bars this is for you but without the good food. Sorry but I will not be going back. read more

Went here tonight for the first time. From the outside it seems like a quiet wine bar, but the place is hopping. Incredible wine selection including to go wine bottles that can be opened (for a corkage fee) and small plates. Awesome rock playlist too. It is a bit cramped inside, but overall worth it. The only thing positive about this establishment is their Marketing to get you to come to the place, everything after that was a total disappointment. We were 4 mature adults who frequent many different bars and restaurants in the suburban and metropolitan areas. The food items we ordered were served cold, when they should have been hot, sparse and ridiculously overpriced. The wine that 2 of us ordered was such a small pouring that we thought the waitress was bringing it to us to taste ($19). The 2 martinis we order were in the proper glass but when we received the bill the twist had an add on charge to the martini price. To end our hour long visit we asked for 4 glasses of water and were told there would be a charge for the water??? We will not be going back to BarBoutique nor would we recommend it to anyone since we walked out of there feeling scammed. read more

Its a little complicated. Great spot for apps and cocktails. Drinks are creative and well executed, definitely made by a pro. Chicken tacos (soft, 3 per order) and crab cakes were perfect portion size and enough to share. The food comes fresh from excellent local sources (which are acknowledged clearly) and lets them focus on the cocktails and wine. I have read many of the reviews on this relatively new spot and I feel strongly after getting beyond the earliest comments (new opening) the majority of complaints comes from mis-aligned expectations. This is NOT a traditional dinner place and NOT inexpensive. If looking for apps as dinner there is plenty from which to choose but understand this before sitting down. To me, apps and drinks here and then dinner out (or in reverse) is the best use of this spot. This is a 27 seat wine bar and the vibe is cool. Many negative reviews come from complaints on corking fees. I am not familiar with the restaurant's messaging / pricing as I did not order wine from the retail store. That being said, if charging liquor store prices, a $25.00 corking fee is actually VERY reasonable when considering markups at restaurants on wine are 200-300 percent. Where can you buy a bottle of wine that costs $100.00 at store prices and pay $125.00 served to you in a restaurant? Nowhere. The restaurant could consider easing this fee during slow times or when ordering a lot of food but this is their call. Know before you go and enjoy this cool spot. I will be back. read more

I would never go back! I ordered a $19.00 GLASS of red wine and received a little more than 1" of wine in my glass. The small plates were extremely small and only average quality. There is a 90 minute maximum stay time at a table. We had finished our drinks & small plates within an hour & then asked for water. We were told there was a charge. It's Manhattan prices in downtown Ramsey and with attitude. I don't think they'll last long. read more

My review may be a bit biased bc I was the designated driver and left sober and hangry since I didn't eat much. What I ate was delicious - tuna tartare and hummus but very pricey for small bites but I get it. As the DD was pretty disgusted that they don't offer tap water - only $8 bottles of water. One waiter was all over us - overly attentive but was extremely pretentious - made me feel uncomfortable. Something was clearly wrong with a friends 3rd glass of wine. Another friend sent it back- he acted like he was fixing it but she literally watched him walk behind the bar with it never put it down and turned right around with the same glass. She was too embarrassed to say anything. Lastly he never gave us a check. Came over with his machine and was just like "how many cards" and my friend had to ask for a receipt. Turns out they charged us for an extra $8 bottle of water. Lovely place for a pre or post drink but seriously too pretentious for my taste. read more

This place was A++! We came here after dinner, and the drinks and service was phenomenal! Our server was above and beyond attentive. I ordered a spicy margarita, and it was a bit too spicy (my fault), and he immediately replaced it and didn't charge. We were all very happy with the atmosphere. It felt like we were in Manhattan! The mixologist came up and asked about our drinks, everyone at the bar was so friendly. The cheese board was delicious, and definitely order the chicken dumplings! We definitely found our new bar for a nightcap. Is it a bit pricey? Yes. However, it's a craft bar and wine store. We looked at the prices before. My friends and I have heard great reviews about this new location so we decided to try it out one night. My friend and I both ordered cocktails, and they were really good. Next, we had already eaten before hand so we just ordered the chips & guac for an app. The quality of the guac was amazing and so were the chips. I returned for a second time with someone else and we tried the chips & hummus, as well as a cheese board. Both were very good! Staff is friendly and helpful when you can't decide what to order or what drink will pair with what. The only downside is that it's a little pricey (i.e $18 cocktails) for the location. read more

Place has a great vibe! Met up with some friends on a Wednesday night at 6:30pm. And to our surprise the place was packed, but the staff was amazingly attentive and they quickly got us seated (party of 5) and waiter was attentive. The charcuterie was wonderful such a great weeknight treat. read more
