Looking forward to coming back and trying more, but so far I've got a good impression of this place. I've always been a sneaky pickle fan so I'm delighted to see their gorgeous new establishment and new menu items. There's a lot more room to spread out here! My cocktail and app (fries) were decent. The squid ink pasta was delicious. It was my first time having squid ink, so I was a bit apprehensive. The flavor was actually quite mild and subtle and I really enjoyed its flavor and texture. The pasta had the best texture of any pasta I've ever had... it was chewy? Stretchy? Doughy? And very fresh. If you like al dente pasta, this is the pasta for you. The shrimp on top were incredibly sweet and fresh tasting. The chocolate souffle at the end was awesome and had some kind of herby citrusy flavor... very cool.

    Martini- with a garnish adventure!

Wowwweee! I came to Bar Brine with a friend to try their martini, which we heard was special. It is special, made so by the "garnish adventure" you receive-- a cup of various garnish options such as lemon twist, lime, cocktail onion, olive, celery, and dill on ice. I choose all of the garnish because why not! The martini itself was of the gin variety, which I usually stay away from but I honestly couldn't taste any gin, it was so smooth. We sat at the bar while the place was nearly empty (early on a Sunday evening), and got great attention and reccomendations from the bartender. The two small plates we shared were incredible. Playful, creative, delicious- which seems to be the vibe of everything on the menu. I cannot wait to return, which will be soon.

Sneaky Pickle during the day....Bar Brine at night. Our server put it best: at night, the restaurant switches from friendly neighborhood eatery to something with a "more grown and sexy vibe." candles, interesting cocktails, and a price tag to match. The menu has several meat AND vegan or vegetarian options, so the whole squad can eat here if you choose. We came for a friend's birthday. I ordered the gnocchi which was perfectly portioned to save room for dessert, and was delicious. Also, I ordered a drink I remembered having off the sneaky pickle menu: a mint and ginger lemonade with gin. I was really pleased that they accommodated that request! For desert our table split basically one of everything on the menu. You almost can't go wrong here: everything is delicious...with the exception of the tahini blondie, which was tragically quite dry. Everything else was exceptional: the yuzu sorbet and the flourless chocolate torte were standout favorites of the meal. Price is unfortunately a barrier that will prevent me from being here frequently, but I look forward to the next special occasion that brings me back for more!

Just an amazing, easy to write ***** review - in my opinion…read more We went with a party of 7 on Mardi Gras - got stuck in parade traffic and 1/2 party was 30 minutes late. No problems w N7 - thank you. Server and Som were great - friendly, knew the menu (food and wine) inside and out, giving great suggestions. The food timing was just right for our large party given how many items ordered (on a very busy night). Our sommelier picked perfect pairings. As a table we order probably 12 different dishes +desert to share (this is way to go imo) and each was amazing in its own way. Unique sweet savory salty combos and great presentations. I am not going to go into details as it has been covered in photos and other reviews. The outside ambience was perfect with heat lamps - on a chilly night no one needed a coat. The lighting was soft/perfect and once you entered into the wooden door you are transported into a different world. I would recommend this for family, business meeting or date night. The prices were very reasonable for the service, ambiance and amazing food. We all were just thrilled with N7 / just make the reservation and be prepared for a great night!

We had the smallest table - it was hard to fit multiple dishes including drinks on it. The flies were everywhere. The outside is super stinking cute. We ordered the watermelon salad, some special crab dip, shrimp, the steak, creme brûlée, and the chocolate dessert. The pork In the crab dip was so over powering I couldn't taste the crab. Also our server was lacking. I would've ordered more drinks but he was too slow. The only things I would order again were the shrimp (royal reds) and the crème brûlée.

The space leans relaxed and social, with a tapas-style menu that's intentionally limited. While the dishes aren't coming out of the flagship kitchen, you can absolutely taste the influence. This is not typical bar food. Our table ordered a range of dishes: tuna tartare with nori sheets, French onion dip with Zapp's chips, duck fried rice, barbecue shrimp, and a dry-aged strip loin, finishing with a decadent strawberry cake. A highlight of the evening was learning more about the barbecue shrimp. EJ (Emeril's son) shared that it's prepared in a pan with a base of Worcestershire and jalapeños, then finished with cream, butter, and chives. The result is rich, layered, and--according to him--very close to the version served at Emeril's back in 1990. It shows. Standouts for us were the tuna tartare and the shrimp; the sauce on the shrimp in particular really delivers. The strip loin was much larger than expected (and priced accordingly), and while well-executed, it begged for a side like fries, which surprisingly aren't on the menu. The duck fried rice was solid but felt a bit out of place compared to the rest of the lineup. The onion dip, unfortunately, was a miss for us. Service was a bit uneven. The wine bar staff felt slightly too casual at times, lacking some of the polish you'd expect from the brand. Midway through the meal, a server from the main restaurant stepped in, and the difference in attentiveness and professionalism was immediately noticeable. On the cocktail front, my Sazerac didn't hit the mark; overly strong and lacking the balance and clarity you'd expect, especially compared to the excellent version I had later at the Sazerac Bar. One thing worth noting: even if wine isn't your primary interest (it isn't ours), guests here reportedly have access to selections from Emeril's impressive 30,000-bottle cellar. That's a major draw for wine enthusiasts. Overall, this is a great alternative if you can't land a reservation at the main restaurant. Come for the atmosphere and a few standout dishes, manage expectations on service and cocktails, and you'll have a very enjoyable experience.

I'll be choosing Effervescence (if it's open... limited hours, especially given that it closes at 4pm on Sundays), Peychaud's or its neighbor, the Will and the Way if I'm with beer drinkers (ie, my husband) or Patrick's Bar Vin. Latitude 29 if I'm yearning for a Pandan Painkiller. Spots where loud party people tend to avoid. I'm happy to add another spot to the list, Le Bouchon! Especially if I'm really in the need of peace and quiet. It's lovely in here, reminiscent of a European wine grocery with a pretty spot in the rear for sitting. It's so intimate and quiet, a peaceful reprieve from the hustle and bustle through the back windows where one looks out upon the French Market. The service is top notch, with a friendly chill bartender and a chef who pops out to make sure everything is OK. I met my friend here on a late Sunday afternoon and felt really welcome, without it being too overbearing as it may happen when a place is on the quieter side. It would be amazing if there were a single vegan option on the menu... even chips or salted nuts or taralli so that us plant based folks could stay longer and not drink wine on an empty stomach. I have two generous glasses of a perfect rosé. We appreciated the selection of wines by the glass. Bonus: you can also pick up a lovely bottle of wine (admittedly, I didn't get a chance to peruse the wall of wine) to take home!

Needless to say, this wouldn't be suitable for anyone who isn't comfortable with that kind of artwork. This place advertises burlesque shows and "Shibari", however I did not see any of that during my visit. I do not dock points though because I'm certain there's a schedule that shows when these events occur. If you're interested in seeing one, best to make sure when they're taking place. There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. There was one barista that night, and while she was kind and made excellent cocktails, her voice was really low--making it difficult to hear her over the music. I'm glad the bar was empty, or else I may have not been able to hear her properly. Aside from those minor concerns with cleanliness and communication, I'd still say to give Fetiche Nola a shot if you're looking for a unique place to start off a long night of partying.
