Driving up and down 2nd street trying to look for it can be a chore. The front of it has nothing to make it stand out and if you aren't "really" looking you could miss it. This swank French bar is very intimate and warm on the inside. Has somewhat of an east coast bar feel to it, dark wood with red lighting. It is a nice change from the typical club/bar scene. Receiving the menu and seeing all these different champagne drinks I was in heaven. From the French 75 to the Imperial Berry it was all good stuff; there mix drinks are good too. The strongest but the best of the mixed drinks was the martini with blue cheese stuffed olives but be prepared its all vodka! My favorite of the all the champagne drinks was the apricot blossom. I thought the idea and feel of this bar was very cool, I don't understand this un-American talk about it. If you have too many people in your party and you don't have a reservation, then it's full simple as that. The place is not that big. It is not a secret to those yelpers that know me, that I detest L.A. I find the city to be insipid, like diluted beer. I find the people to be garish and grasping with the faked affectations of a purchased tan. I find the bars and lounges to be about as terrible as bars and lounges generally can be, in cities that I tend to hate so much. This is before I discovered santa monica. Santa Monica is basically the most fantastic place I've been in the united states. I ate a pumpkin cookie covered in chocolate earlier when I visited le labo. I had dinner at lemonade. I hung out with other dior afficianados, and one particularly, heartstoppingly beautiful girl. I should stop here for a moment and note that this is not an exaggeration. She might actually be the most jaw droppingly elegant woman I've ever met, and that says quite a lot...about me and my voluminous history with women. Most of that history is bad, but there is quite a bit of it. Suffice to say that her eyes are like blue jade among grey stones at the bottom of a clear river, and that her effervescence is as contagious as one finds a glass of prosecco to be. My opinion on bars here has been changed by Bar Chloe as well. First off, the mixologists here are unpretentious and fantastic. The drinks are well proportioned and the flavor of the principal alcohols tends to be enhanced rather than disguised as one finds at lesser cocktail bars. I had a spicy drink with tequila and the spice crooned in dulcet tones under the soothing aspic of tequila, constrained until the raw potency of the liquor was tamed with bright notes of citrus. It was fantastic. Second, the DJ on friday nights, WLDCT, is dope. I mean seriously dope. When a man is mixing together some strokes and then some TLC you have to start wondering if you've entered a happier plane of existence. I was dancing a bit with my friends and I noticed that NOBODY ELSE WAS DANCING. What. The. Fuck. Los. Angeles. Do none of you know how to dance? You, the blonde gold digger painfully making out with a dude who most assuredly has grey pubes? You, the russians, all hard angled beauty and grim determination, hands afflicted with the thousand years of solitude that your country desperately manages to affix on your soul? My heart breaks to hear such fantastic music and yet see nobody else dancing except our little cadre of friends (admittedly, we are all quite gorgeous, but even then I'm a strong 7 at best while everyone else was at least a soft 9). In any case, I am actually looking forward to coming back to the west coast sooner than later now, which is something I have never really said before. Bar Chloe, thank you for being so wonderful. Cute little French-inspired lounge off the promenade. Easy to miss, but definitely worth a look. Bar Chloe has a quaint, chic-but-comfortable feel to it. Super cute! Good drink menu with specialty martinis, champagne cocktails, etc. at reasonable prices. I haven't tried the appetizers yet, but the food menu sounds great. I prefer to go out on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday nights, so it's usually chill. It's a good place to sit with friends, chat it up and enjoy some drinks. Bar Chloe is one of my go-to spots in Santa Monica. They rock a Mon-Fri 6-8pm happy hour, where you can get some $5 wines, $4 beers, and $6 selected cocktails (manhattan, tom collins, and a couple others). They have a few snacks on their happy hour menu as well. I'm a big fan of happy hours. That being said, I don't come to Bar Chloe for the happy hour. I come here because their bartenders (who are awesome) can whip up some serious cocktails. Pretty much any classic cocktail I've requested they've been able to make without breaking a sweat, and, boy, do they make them well. Come here to enjoy a legit cocktail in a cozy spot with a good friend or a date you're trying to impress. Saw this place on yelp when I was in the Westside. I love hand crafted cocktails. The vibe is very intimidate, almost kind of cozy. There are about 6-7 table seats with long couches and a handful of seats at the bar. This space is small but I liked it. Great place to hang out with friends and have a drink. It's dim inside with a speakeasy/hipster trendy flair. I had the Chloe cocktail which was delicious. I also sipped the Stiletto that was super yummy strawberry flavors. Trying to find this place is a little difficult unless you're on foot and/or know the exact address. Walking by you probably wouldn't even notice it - no sign save for a discrete glass-encased menu posted outside on the wall, a small dark wooden door barely propped open - it's all very secretive, very dark and mysterious, very very cool. As soon as I walked in my first thought was "this is it? is there another room hidden somewhere??". It's a pretty "cozy" and dark little bar that exudes elegance and sexiness - a perfect place to hide out in. The Happy Hour was pretty decent even though as others have pointed out the list of offerings is not incredibly extensive. My group of 5 ordered the grilled cheese, 2 of the fried calamari's, 1 mac-n-cheese, 1 fries (they come w/a vinegary dipping sauce which at first seems kind of weird but totally works and just barely coats your fries with a tangy flavor - lovely!), 1 chicken satay (my favorite), and 1 risotto ball plate ($5 each dish). Now that I've written that all out it sounds like a whole lot of food but I was definitely not "full" after sampling everything. The food was yummy but the HH drinks we ordered were not very strong. Apparently you can make "table" reservations which means you can reserve the sofa/tables if you are going with a group. We hadn't made any reservations but the bartender, a cute curly-haired fellow, allowed us to sit at one of the tables anyways until the expected party arrived an hour later. Will definitely have to remember to make a reservation next time. The place was basically empty when I got there at about 6:45pm on a Thursday night but people started strolling in not too long after 7pm and by the time the music started really bumping at 8pm all of the seats on the couches and at the bar were full. After filling up on Happy Hour goodies we weren't really feeling the vibe (and were about to get kicked off of our sofa anyways!) so we went elsewhere to finish up the night's festivities. USE PLASTIC WITH CAUTION. Interestingly enough I was here a week ago with some coworkers, and we were all visiting from Europe. As soon as we sat down and ordered a drink they immediately wanted a card for a tab. I offered up my card knowing I would pay in cash. All but one of us ordered drinks. When our bill came, I took my card and paid in cash, the other people paid via their personal cards. A week later I got a fraud alert on my card for a large sum of money, and the other people over 5k charged to their cards. When we called the credit card companies we were informed physical copies of our cards had been created. This is the ONLY place where we used these specific cards at the same time. The fact of the matter is that this is the ONLY place we used this specific combination of cards that ended up being compromised. And we will never go here again. Chloe blows. It's trying hard to be a hip bar for grown-ups, like Vermont in Los Feliz or Beachwood in Venice or Hungry Cat in Hollywood. Like these other places, it is long on attitude, but unlike the others, it is short on the fundamentals --- service, drinks, food, etc. My buddy and I went there last night (Friday) at about 8pm. We wanted to like it, really we did, but it was just one annoyance after another: 1) Two bouncers at the door despite the place being half full. 2) Buddy orders $12 martini with olive. Bartender makes martini with twist. He points out the mistake. She takes the twist off the glass and drops an olive in. Ugh. 3) I order a $12 drink called a Vesper. I've had it elsewhere and I like it. This one is not so good. Bartender asks me if I like it. I lie and say yes. She says "that's funny, because I think it's a terrible drink". Dude, you MADE the drink. 4) Buddy orders $7 french fries. They arrive cold. We send them back and the second order is hot, but it's now evident they're just frozen shoestring fries. In-N-Out slices its own potatoes and charges $1.50. 5) I order $9 hamburger. It's tasty but tiny, about 4 bites. 6) Music is VERY LOUD despite the fact that the place is only half full and people are still in that part of their evening where they're trying to hold a conversation. BTW that Oingo Boingo song on your playlist sucked 20 years ago too. You get the idea. Afterwards, my buddy predicted that Chloe would be Chlosed within 2 months. He may be right. Chloe seems to be coasting on people like us who are trying it for the first time. But nothing about Chloe argues for a return visit. I hate to be a hater but Chloe is the kind of place I would expect to find in Portland, Oregon positioning itself as an LA-style bar. I've been here several times both during the weekday and weekend and have never been disappointed. I like the music selection and noticed they had a DJ on my recent visit. This is a super cute bar in Santa Monica. The entrance can easily be missed since it's just a door with a security guard in front of it. Some people call it a speakeasy but I don't know about that. It's very fancy looking inside with chandeliers and all. The people that come here get dressed up. It's definitely a classier bar. The drinks are pretty expensive, even for LA prices. They're pretty good but nothing spectacular. The ambiance is romantic, intimate and dimly lit. So, I love to do theme night's and tonight's theme was LBD (little black dress). I pick three places a night, in theme, and we hit the town. So we started off at Bar Chloe (then we hit Copa d' Oro, then Cameo Bar at the Viceroy - in case you want to do a theme night too). It is a great little bar on 2nd street. Nice greater/bouncer in a suit out front. You walk in and the bar in on the left and there are scattered couches/seating around the rest of the bar. It was a Friday around 9:15 or so and it was packed. A lot of dressed up people, but some casual too. All ages as well. We met our friend who had snagged seats at the bar - yipppee. They had a DJ right behind us and the music was good. I was STARVING so I ordered the Mac and Cheese. It was super yummy and not so big you feel like a pig, just enough. The one thing I found odd was my drinks. I know my limits and it is two martini's. I ordered my first lemon drop and even on an empty stomach didn't feel like I had had a drink. So I ordered another...same thing. I actually ordered a 3rd and still no buzz. Is is possible to make a lemon drop martini with no alcohol? 'cause that is what it felt like. I'm a lightweight for sure and I didn't feel a thing after 3 drinks - odd. I can't compare with my friends because they had beer and water. The bartenders were all nice and the service moved along. The bar was definitely crowded but everyone got served. Know before you go.... Public parking lot just around the corner and another across the street. And although it was crowded the crowd was really lovely and friendly and some girl gave me a great tip on haircare products. Which brings me to my next point: the management's handling of those few patrons who are NOT nice. I went to Chloe with my boss and our publicist after a screening to enjoy a glass of wine and unwind after a stressful week. We found a spot to sit, and camped out...long enough to get a waitresses attention, order a drink and have it arrive. So...long enough to establish that we were, in fact, y'know SITTING THERE. Some crazy drunk woman began to shove me saying I had stolen her seat and her friends wanted to sit down and on and on (keeping in mind there was enough room on the bench for everyone's ass to find a spot, and I was sitting right on the edge). I tried to ignore her, but she literally shoved me with her behind and sent me sprawling...then her friend threw her drink on me, and also on my boss. Bad mojo, dude. The manager kicked them out IMMEDIATELY and didn't give us any trouble and was very nice about the whole thing...because honestly it would've been totally understandable if they'd kicked my party out as well. We stayed on...had more wine, which was lovely. Enjoyed the comfy couches and friendly attentive waitresses and had a pleasant rest-of-the-night. Luxe and intimate bar! My friends and I went here after an ill fated attempt to go to Bungalow-not our crowd. The moment we walked in, we knew this was the place for us. This would be a great date night spot. My group of 6 found some seats and were able to place our drink orders quickly. I had a French 75 and my friends ordered a some of the signature cocktails. Macaroni and Cheese has to be one of the best inventions known to man. To take cheese, wonderful on it's own, and then combine it with a succulent carb, in a warm melty fashion? Pure genius. It was without a doubt the highlight of my visit to Bar Chloe. Upon entering, I felt as if I had stepped into the pages of Architectural Digest. Gilded furniture, large mirrors, and a vaulted ceiling that stretches into the Heavens are just some of the elegant furnishings provided. The photos online, though very good, do not do the place justice. My friends and I came here for Happy Hour, and we were indeed feeling quite "tres heureux." Here's what we had: Hawk's Crest Merlot - Their house Merlot from California, it's featured during their Happy Hour for $5.00. Rich and sophisticated, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sliders - I'm not sure if they are still on the menu, but I was a little surprised by their petite size. Two are provided, but they are very small; I feel one more should be added to the plate. Grilled Cheese - Made with English Cheddar, this sandwich was good, but lacking in some area. It needed bacon, or tomato, or something. The "je ne sais quoi," was not there. Baked Macaroni and Cheese - It is my firm opinion that bacon makes everything better, and this dish is worth the visit alone! A perfect portion of macaroni served in a large ramekin. The top is ever so slightly crispy, and there is a definite mesquite flavor to the meal. It reminded me of a campfire and the telling of ghost stories. My whole party and I agreed it was the best "savories" of them all offered at Happy Hour. I've been dreaming about it since. It's located right near the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and parking garages abound. I parked at one right next to it on 2nd Street. The bartender was courteous and accommodating. Happy Hour is weekdays from 5:00 to 7:00, and not crowded. This is an absolutely excellent place for a date, or with friends. Chloe has fast become my Cheers -- then again most bars near my office is a place where "everybody knows my name" Chloe has: - Friendly (and cute) bartenders - Good drinks and pretty good food. Get the bacon wrapped dates with bleu cheese if you are into that sort of thing. - Nice atmosphere. This is one bar that can be a sit at the bar for that "oh I am so businessy and need a stiff drink after work" as well as an "oh let me sit on the couch with a date and make out" or and "oh let me sit down to an awkward first date then make it less awkward by making out on the couch" There is one thing I must warn you of. Don't come after 8pm if you are ugly. They won't let you in unless you have a nice good looking friend like me who can walk all the way up the door to have the bouncer let you in. My 500th Review!! 3.5 stars- Bar Chloe is a cozy little hotel lounge. Didn't love the first gin cocktail I ordered but loved the Canta-nade I think it was called (cantaloupe juice, vodka and lemonade). I know they're going for martinis here but I really hate being served a $12-14 cocktail in champagne glass quantity. Even if it contains 1- 1.5 oz of alcohol I don't feel like I'm getting much bang for my buck. I am really glad this dark, classy spot still exists in Santa Monica. It is night and day from almost all the other lounges in the area. It feels like something quiet and glamorous that you would find off the Champs Elysee in Paris. On a week night it is quiet but relaxing and a great place to have business drinks. I've been to 3rd street in Santa Monica a countless number of times. So, when I walked into Bar Chloe and immediately loved the place, it was surprisingly refreshing. With no sign outside, it's no wonder I've never known about it. Bar Chloe has a beautifully designed interior and is decorated with flocked wallpaper, huge white lacquer mirrors, three small chandeliers, plush couches with animal print designs, and an elegant, antique, marble-topped bar. The service was great as the bartender and waitress were really nice and attentive. Drinks are around $10-$14 and max capacity is around 80 people. This is a classic cozy lounge that offers a wide selection of cocktails, cool vibe, nice ambiance, tucked in an area away from the touristy attractions. There is construction around the location so you can easily miss if driving by. Lights are dimmed, so most everyone looks good, including a couple making out next to our group (obviously taking advantage of the lounge furniture and ambiance). Great spot for a drink date or to hang with a few friends, though I found it to be a little loud if you really want to talk. Ok, I haven't been to Third Street in ages. Who knew it became all modernized with its talking elevators in the parking lots and all the new stores? Anyway, we came here tonight for an after-dinner buzz. This place was perfect because it wasn't too crowded but was cool enough to have just the right amount of people that we didn't feel claustrophobic. It's attached to the Hotel Carmel so the clientele is a bit touristy but who cares? If you want a strong vodka cranberry, they give you a strong vodka cranberry, without attitude and frills. Bar Chloe is a bar for those who actually enjoy drinking. I'm not talking about the love of that inebriated loss of control but, instead, the enjoyment of a proper drink. This is Bar Chloe. Some friends and I began the evening after work at a hotel lounge down Ocean. We were waiting for traffic to die down before heading out of Santa Monica. After a few drinks and appetizers there we decided to continue the night at Bar Chloe (because Monday really needs to be a funday). When we arrived, the bar was completely empty. Only the bartender was there talking to another employee. We entered and the bartender turned his attention to us. His name is Kim and he was great! We chatted briefly about our preferred alcohol and he then suggested drinks based on what we like. The drinks he made were fantastic. Superbly done and created with care. As he presented our drinks, he even went over the how and history of our cocktails. I really appreciate a bartender (or anyone, really) who takes pride in their work and takes time to understand the history behind the little things. (Kim, if you read this, the liqueur I was talking about that is popular in San Francisco but not so much everywhere else in the US is "Fernet Brancha") I wanted to order some Spanish Chorizo with my drink. Kim initially told me that the kitchen had closed early because no one was in the bar, which was understandable. However, Kim paused and then said he would go and get the chorizo, which should be simple to get from the kitchen even with it closed. He retreated to the kitchen and then returned with a plate of sliced sausage. He lamented that the chorizo was intended to be served with bread and mustard but he couldn't get it. Therefore, the chorizo was on the house. Awesome! Overall, what's with the negative reviews? This place is great. If you want a well made drink, then this is your bar. Some say the price at $12 or more is expensive. But these are well crafted drinks that are worth the price. Plus, if you can't afford the drink then you shouldn't be drinking. I have to say that this is a really good bar. the bartenders know how to make drinks. The staff is quick, unjaded, relatively friendly. It is Santa Monica, so the likes of getting shit canned and annoying and loud are out the window. No, this is an after work, early night crowd filled with Cosmopolitans, gimlets and gin filled beverages. Sloppiness is frowned upon here it seems or that is just the way i took it. Courtesy Factor: Fairly Decent, I mean people were friendly but I tihnk that is because they were either roomates of mine or associates of some sorts. they are some very stunning women here, so prepare to get shut down every once and a while. I've never been to Paris, but this is what I imagine their bars to be like. It was very chic, girly, romantic. Any place with chandeliers and chaises are my kind of place. Pair that elegance with a great happy hour and you have the new after work hang out with the girls. The happy hour menu was hidden, and we had to ask for it, but it was well worth it. I was worried about the service based on other reviews but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The manager must have read the reviews too, because everyone was so nice and attentive. The drinks looked very girly and sophisticated, like the lavender gimlet. I'm trying that next time. As a first timer I stuck to the $5 happy hour menu, and was satisfied. They had a grilled CHEESE that reminded me of the kind my granny used to make, but everything else we ordered was just okay. Stay away from the calamari, not special at all. We did stray to the non-happy hour menu for some bacon wrapped dates filled with blue CHEESE. Magnifico! We were there till around 8pm on a Friday night and people were just starting to trickle in. Bar Chloe est tres chic. The bar's decor which appears to come straight out of 1930's Paris is classy and unique. The servers are dressed in these fabulous little dresses. ( I've since learned they were designed by Project Runway alum, Rami Kashou.) While les robes fall somewhere between haute couture and pret -a- porter-- either way they're fantastic and I'd wear them. (Oh and forgive me for not including the accents--laptops don't allow you to use ALT + number sequence to get french accents) The quirks of Bar Chloe, namely indie - 80's music and a bar menu that seems more British than French- I'm actually into, although I would understand if someone found them to be ill fitting. Bar Chloe has been brought to us by the same team that created Magnolia and The Bar-- par for the course as far as I'm concerned. All of them offer a certain je ne sais quoi... that I'm partial too. Bar Chloe is debonair, no doubt. But even so it lacks pretense; I think you'll find it just as charming as I do. read more

Parking at the Promenade is always great! 90 minutes free at the structure! Came here with a friend during their 6-8PM happy hour on a Friday. They have a strong Old Fashioned and a delicious margarita, both for $7. We sat at the bar until 8 and it actually wasn't too crowded at all. I would definitely recommend. The vibe is wonderful. It looks a little fancy, but it's quite casual. The perfect place to unwind after a long week. I would recommend for catching up with friends, or even a date. The bartenders were nice and quite attentive, and the crowd was jubilant. Seating is good if you get there before 7:30. Will definitely be here again! read more

Bar Chloe (BC) was formally known as Voda, but little has changed: the vibe and interior is nearly identical...as is the subpar service and food. So out of respect for everyone's time, I'll say this: If you're on the west side and don't want to drive all the way to Hollywood to get a few foo-foo drinks, then BC will suffice. But if you're thinking of making BC your destination for an evening, think again as there are literally dozens upon dozens of alternatives that will better serve you for the night. But again, for the west side, it'll do the trick: 1. Vibe. Hip, cool, clean, and since it's on the west side/in Santa Monica, you can act like a clown/be yourself and no one will care. But it's small, so I don't reco bringing a large crew, but it's great if your date is new to town or plastered...they'll be easy to impress so BC won't let them down. 2. Food. Subpar...all the way around...but I will say that it's priced accordingly, so as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. But you're better off just boozing here. 3. Chicks. There's always a group of broads in BC, so if you're a single dewd on the prowl in SM, then this is a suitable choice because if you strike out, which is likely because you prolly don't have much game, you can always get a massage from one of those creepy Asian massage parlors that riddle the SM area. 4. Dudes. Ladies, I feel for you as most guys in LA are posers. But every so often there's a solid lad to be found...but not at BC. Try the Room or Renee's if you want to get your freeq on. 5. The rest. Parking is lame, prices are average for this type of Les Deux-wannabe spot, and the service is always uninspired. I'd guess and say that the leadership at BC is weak sauce because the staff always seem to have that "God I wish I was doing this in WeHo" look on their face. But I get it...the west siders don't know how to tip...but hey, you get what you give, homies. All in all, BC is fine for a first step in to the lounge world but there are plenty of better alternatives for those of you who want or need a bit more. I know, I know...this is one of my weaker reviews...I'm tired and BC just doesn't inspire me enough to really rock your world. This is a great place to bring a small group when you are only interested in talking to each other - you know the nights I'm talking about. This is not a lively place in the sense of strangers mingling and you most likely won't meet your next date here. The cocktails are very good and average around $14. I usually start my night here when waiting on dinner reservations or catching up with an old friend. read more

Bar Chloe is a lovely highlight when considering cocktail lounges in Santa Monica. It's almost a hidden gem and therefore easy to walk past without even noticing this is in fact, a gorgeous cocktail bar. In fact I walked straight past it multiple times until thanks to Yelp, I realised Bar Chloe was literally opposite my hostel. Its subtle sign works in its favour though, as Bar Chloe can only accommodate a certain number of people. Bar Chloe is like a glamorous lounge room. It's elegant but not over the top, with a few couches. I liked it as it was stylish without being pretentious. When I visited, I sat at the bar and it was fantastic - such a good spot to witness the bartender whip up something special. I'd definitely recommend the vintage cosmopolitan, so delicious! The bar staff are friendly and experts at their craft. It was tempting to return but alas, this was my last night in Santa Monica. read more

Chloe used to be my number one date spot - lush comfortable lounge seating (who doesn't want to lay down in public when they're drinking?), usually great music, and the drinks I've had have all been pretty stellar (albeit expensive. at least they get you fully loaded on one drink). There is usually room to sit, but don't come with a big crowd. I'd say a 4-6 maximum, and that's only if you come early. However, my last few experiences have been subpar, and have led to me leaving almost as soon as I got there! One time, even leaving one of those stellar expensive drinks behind! On two occasions, the music was just so f-ing loud! I'm a young 24 year old gal with great hearing, I don't want to lose that now!! Everyone was struggling to hear, let alone think - this is a tiny bar, we're not at the hollywood bowl! We asked about it, and the DJ rudely said he wouldn't change it. The next time, same situation, and we just chose to leave instead of dealing with it. Also, on my last visit (and unfortunately, I think the last chance I gave to chloe), I noticed the crowd has become questionable...a few too many bald heads and Ed Hardy tshirts for my taste. After lying about my phone number a few times, I got the hell out of there. Needless to say, I used to REALLY enjoy chloe, hence the three star rating. This place is so cool. I love it. We checked out this place for HH one weekday and really enjoyed it. I immediately felt more cool and classy just by walking in. The ambiance is dark and romantic with a loungy feel to it. There are comfy sofas with tables in a pretty small room. The HH menu is pretty good...we tried the bruschetta with asparagus which was OK. I also got the grilled cheese which was also OK. My fiance got the bacon wrapped dates which he really liked. He got a beer and I got a glass of wine and I think our bill was about 30 bucks total. Wine was $7 and I think beer was $5 or 6. We will definitely be back to check out what else this place has to offer. I have a feeling that their cocktails are probably amazing and will be back when I am feeling like having a unique and fresh cocktail. read more

Amazing! A group of 20 of us came to the tiny Bar Chloe for drinks. It is a very small place with a speakeasy environment. There is plentiful seating and it was very open and music was not overpowering. We were so happy with the service! The two bartenders were more than welcoming even for our large group. I was eyeing the cocktails, but opted for a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It was delicious with hints of apple and was very refreshing. My friends highly enjoyed their beers and cocktails too!
