Luxe mini bar with chic lounge furniture and bites if you're there early enough. The Honey be Cool cocktail here was my favorite. It's a mild spicy level and featured delicious ingredients, a dried lime and had a smooth boozy taste with dressed salt. Overall my friends and I all loved our drinks and enjoyed touring each-other's selections. The staff here were professional, and paid good attention to detail. While there is limited seating, The inside is very intimate perfect for a night cap of occupancy allows. Sadly we arrived after their kitchen closed, but would love trying their bar food sometime!

We came here around 6:30/6:45 pm on Saturday night for a drink before our dinner reservations nearby at 7:30. The drinks were fine - I ordered Honey Be Cool and my husband ordered Naughty Peach. I was not overly impressed with mine and my husband's tasted like an odd mix of ingredients. It was fairly quiet since it was so early (I'm assuming it may get busier later). That said, the service was awful. We waited 20+ minutes to be acknowledged and when we finally were able to order, we had to ask for the check immediately because we didn't want to miss our reservation. It would have been fine if one of the bartenders had at least hit us with "I'll be with you in a minute." Overall, it was a disappointing experience for what seems like a cozy, dark bar that should have tasty, unique cocktails.

Such a vibe! We stumbled upon this bar as we're strolling and exploring the area! So chic! Great drinks and though we didn't get to try their food because the kitchen was closed it was def. Worth it. Also have great music! And their restrooms are spacious!

Rather in love with this little spot I was just introduced to! A rather anonymous door is set into the building past the entrance to the hotel. It opened up about 6:03 with a group already starting to form outside. The inside is elegant and muted. Happy hour from 6:30-7:30. Had an amazing craft cocktail from a bartender who shook it like he meant it! Will be back.

I am very glad my friend and I stumbled across this bar. Right when we walked in, we loved the atmosphere. Everything was very minimalistic and chic. I loved the music playlist that night; they played majority RnB and Hip Hop. The drinks were fantastic! The first drink I ordered was Hotel Nacional, which was so smooth, flavorful, and well mixed. The second drink was the bartender's choice. I wanted something with whiskey, and went with his recommendation. The bartender was very friendly and skilled at his craft. I can't emphasize enough how awesome this place was! I loved the drinks and the environment!

Great bar in downtown Santa Monica. Grabbed a mint julep for 12 bucks and a tequila drink with grapefruit for 13. Vibe was really cool dimly lit great music playing. Fantastic spot for a date or a drink before dinner! HH is 630-730

Bar Chloe is a cute little spot, but why does someone told me that they had a rooftop? The drinks here are amazing but I will say that they do the whole added 20% gratuity just FYI. It's a cozy little spot with the bar and the sofas on the sides. This place is perfect for a cute date night spot or a girls night out.

Had a good time here at Chloe. It's a nice cozy lounge with a great atmosphere with good music and good vibes. The cocktails were great and the service was fantastic and friendly. The lounge was quite enough to have a conversation. Definitely a cool after dinner place to hang out and drink with friends.

A great bar on 2nd street! The drinks are very artisanal and creative. The ambiance is to die for! It is not the cheapest in terms of drinks but it's a great place to bring friends. The bartenders are always very nice and attentive!

For these things, The Penthouse easily deserves 5 stars. The cocktails and zero proof cocktail items were superb. Every detail reads perfection, such as the ice cubes on certain drinks imprinted with "The Penthouse" on them. We were surprised to see they had 8 oz Rib Cap on their menu which many restaurants do not offer. The truffle butter accompaniment was perfect. The tuna appetizers were both very fresh and tasty, as was the Epi baguette that came to the table piping hot. The mashed potato side was delicious as was the broccolini and the skinny fries with truffle oil. Yummm! The scallops entree was delicious as was the 22 oz dry aged ribeye which they slice tableside for you. The salmon was also tasty. The passion fruit crème brûlée was amazing (and I am VERY picky about my crème brûlée). Service was impeccable. Our ribeye and half eaten rib cap were a bit undercooked so when we told our server, they took it to get it reheated right away. But then, they came to our table and delivered a brand new rib cap cooked to perfection along with our ribeye steak. They also comped us with another serving of mashed potatoes and broccolini since we had already demolished the first orders, AND comped us with a very yummy Caesar Salad to boot. Service like this is always deserving of 5 stars and THIS is why The Penthouse is worth every penny. If you want a 5 star experience for food, drinks, service, along with amazing sunset ocean views, this restaurant checks off all the boxes.

I can honestly say that we've never had bad service. After reading some of the reviews, I guess we've been pretty fortunate because our experiences have always been positive. The bar has plenty to enjoy, including a pool table, fireplaces, and various games. The bartenders are organized and efficient. Don't expect a lot of engagement, as they're typically very busy, especially when the place gets crowded. Tonight, we had no problem finding a seat, and other guests were very accommodating about sharing space. Overall, it was a great night and a wonderful way to wrap up our evening in Santa Monica. For parties of six or more, there is an automatic 20% gratuity, so I expected, at minimum, attentive and courteous service. Unfortunately, our waitress, Coco, came to our table approximately three or four times during our entire visit. She was rude, rarely checked on us, and made what should have been a special birthday dinner unnecessarily frustrating. We had been seated for approximately an hour before our main entrée order was even taken. While that was already frustrating, we tried to be understanding and let it go. However, when Coco finally came to take our order, she gave us only a few seconds to decide. When we paused briefly, she walked away and said she would "give us more time." Unfortunately, we then did not see her again for another 20 minutes. To make matters worse, one of the entrées we ordered was the bucatini cacio e pepe with added salmon. The salmon arrived completely raw and nowhere near medium. We brought this to the manager, who asked whether we wanted the salmon removed, re-cooked, and placed back on the same pasta, or whether we wanted a new pasta dish. Ultimately, the same piece of salmon was cooked a little longer, and we were given new pasta. Given that the salmon had initially arrived completely raw, I was extremely uncomfortable with simply having the same piece cooked further and having to hope that it was safe to eat. Unfortunately, by that point, the experience had already taken away from what was supposed to be my birthday celebration. The final interaction with Coco made the situation even worse. While I was speaking with the manager, she came over and, in what felt like a very passive-aggressive tone, asked whether I still wanted my birthday platter, despite the fact that she had already given us the bill. I understand that restaurants can have busy nights and that mistakes happen. What was most disappointing was the lack of attentiveness, the attitude we received, and the fact that basic service was lacking despite the automatic 20% gratuity. Lukas was genuinely the one bright spot in the experience. He was kind, polite, and made an effort to address the situation, and I appreciate that. Unfortunately, his efforts could not undo how the evening had gone. For a birthday dinner, especially at a restaurant with this type of atmosphere and price point, I expected much better. What should have been a fun and memorable birthday night ended up being overshadowed by poor service and an unacceptable food issue. The music choice by DJ was quite lovely.

I first came here as part of our stay at the hotel, and it has a surprisingly lively atmosphere throughout the day. There are quite a lot of people working on laptops or studying, which gives it more of a community café feel than a typical hotel restaurant. Parking is valet only at the hotel and costs $22 for up to 2 hours, which is steep. However, street parking nearby is metered and not too difficult to find if you're willing to walk a few minutes. The food is definitely on the expensive side, but the quality is generally very good. The standouts were the Proper Breakfast, acai bowl, shakshuka plate, and breakfast burrito. These felt thoughtfully prepared and satisfying. The salmon bagel was just okay and didn't quite justify the price. I also had a smoothie that was very good, but at $20, it felt hard to fully justify ordering again. I was especially interested in trying their Cowboy Cold Foam coffee, but unfortunately it wasn't available during our visit. We also ordered takeout for dinner, and that experience was strong overall. The mushrooms and onion soup dip was excellent and one of the highlights. The Caesar salad and vodka pasta were decent but not particularly memorable. Overall, La Palma delivers a great atmosphere, strong breakfast options, and high-quality food, though pricing is definitely premium across the board. It's worth visiting, especially if you're staying at the Proper Hotel or want a beautiful place to relax, work, or enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
