    Babaganoush w/ pita

The rooftop bar is gorgeous! It's almost Miami-esque with the vibe. The hotel entrance is a bit dark where Dahlia is. You have to take the elevator to rooftop bar. The rosewater margarita has been on the list to check out as love margaritas and love rosewater so figured the combo would be delicious. It was not, the tequila tasted like vodka, it's the tequila brand by the Rock. We ordered the HH babaganoush which was very small and green falafel which was baked. The dip came with pita but as it's made with egg, we asked for a vegan bread option which we were charged another $5 for. The place is very pretty but the food & drink were average.

I came a for a post conference drink and the atmosphere is so lovely. It was nice and sunny out and the vibe was just right for a wind down post huge work event. The service was attention.

I stayed at the Azur hotel and came here for happy hour. The cocktails were amazing, and the bites were alright. We got the falafel and some chicken, both were alright but nothing special. The service was a bit slow, especially given we were the only customers. The restaurant is pretty and the seating is comfy, but it was a bit strange how empty it was.

At the top floor of a hotel. Place was 20% full Sunday 6PM. Bartender was very nice and very chatty. Due to BCGEU strike quite a few cocktails were unavailable. Soma: comes in a super fun peacock cup. Boyfriend loved it, I did not. I give it a 6/10 he gives it a 9/10. Comes with half a real passionfruit. Bahamas: 7.5/10. Was okay but not the best Pina Colada - I give them props for trying to recreate something so classic. Boyfriend loved it and gave 10/10 but I did not 7/10. Gender neutral single stalls bathrooms available, but you have to briefly go outside to get to them.

Lavantine is a nice restaurant with a beautiful rooftop aesthetic! Everything comes together and makes the atmosphere very lively, including the staff. I arrived without making a reservation and was able to be seated very quickly. It was my server's 5th day; however, she did great. She made sure to check in, explain the menu, and luckily, I arrived during happy hour! She also made sure my water was always topped up. I got the wings as well as the lamb burger. The burger meat was a bit on the grainier side, which I wasn't a huge fan of, but it still got the job done. The wings were mediocre. To conclude, if you're going for the vibe and atmosphere, it's a great place. But in terms of food, it unfortunately didn't meet what I thought it would have been.

I had the lamb shank and my date the fish and both were sublime. They also have some of the best in-house made hummus I've had since Istanbul. The service was quick and efficient and we sort of lucked out and had the place all to ourselves which was nice. Just wish it wasn't raining!

From the moment we stepped into Lavantine, we knew we were in for something special--and thanks to an absolutely stellar team and kitchen, our evening didn't just meet expectations--it soared. First, a huge shout-out to our bartender, Kris -- from the moment we sat down he greeted us with warm hospitality, crafting cocktails that were as imaginative as they were balanced. Whether he was recommending a house signature or tailoring something to our taste, Kris demonstrated not only expert technique, but a genuine passion for his craft--and that energy set the tone for the whole evening. Turning to the cuisine, the authenticity of the Middle Eastern flavours here is nothing short of brilliant. Every dish seemed to carry the soul of the Levant region yet was adapted thoughtfully to its Vancouver setting--vibrant dips, intriguing spice combinations, and generous share plates that brought a true sense of communal dining and discovery. And wow--what an incredible kitchen led by Chef Emir. The level of care, creativity and polish in each plate told me we were dining somewhere extraordinary. From the textures to the presentation to the way flavours layered and unfolded, it felt like a masterclass in modern Middle Eastern cuisine. Chef Emir's leadership shines through in every bite. In sum: superb service, world-class drinks, and a menu that honours its roots while delivering on refinement. Lavantine is now firmly on our "must return" list, as we are there two nights in a row. Highly, highly recommended.

Wonderful decor and ambiance. Service was on friendly and professional. Food was delicious!

Came here after work with some co-workers and although there was barely anyone there, our waitress didn't seem very good at her job. She took forever to come around to take our drink orders, then she didn't ask to take our food order when she came back with our drinks. I split a lamb burger with a colleague and it was very good. The falafel was also very tasty, as well as the baba ganush but the Hummus was a miss for me. The cocktails were well made. So the food alone was a 4 1/2 but the service was a 3 because the server was nice but we felt she wasn't doing her job properly. The hostess and the manager were very nice.

A big group of us came here to celebrate a special occasion and everyone had a great time. Food: 5+/5 - we had the sampler. They did not disappoint with fresh & tasty food. The assortment suited everyone's palate from grilled fish to Babaganoush Smoked Eggplant. My favorite was the Ahi Tuna and Brussels sprouts. It's a culinary blend of Eastern Mediterranean and West Coast food. The drinks are awesome too. Even though we were stuffed, we managed to make room for dessert - not too sweet Baklava! Atmosphere: 5/5 - great vibe to the place where I felt I was in another country. The restaurant is ideal for anytime of the year as the ceiling's retractable. Service: 5/5 - all the servers were on top of their game. They often asked us if the food was good and if we needed anything. Parking: 2/5 - it's a huge challenge as most of the parkades downtown Vancouver closed at 7 pm. It's a problem if you're planning to dining around that time. I would dine here again. A great place to dine and enjoy delicious food for any occasion. Too bad they're only open for dinner from 4 pm to 11 pm (Tues to Sun).

Wow, this place was better than expected. The food was outstanding. It was like seafood Mediterranean. The atmosphere was so lively. The drinks were amazing. I will be back.

So I decided to try Lavatine out for the cocktails, and I have to say they were pretty good. The ambiance was unique. It's a rooftop, but we weren't technically outside. It is quite pretty. They have a unique selection of drinks, and the three we tried were good. We didn't eat because we had come from dinner. We did get dessert, and it was sub-par, definitely not worth $18!! Honestly, it was highway robbery. I could've gotten something better at cactus for less! The service was really good. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I may go again next summer lol.

Beautiful view of the skies and a lovely garden/luxury atmosphere

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Given the name, it would be great to see more alchemy themed cocktails or decor as what draws me as a frequent bar goer is themed and unique drinks.

Food was good. We went during happy hour and I got their happy hour burger + fries ($16) and a creme brulee ($6). The burger and fries was solid - nothing super amazing, but got the job done! The creme brulee was really good and came at a great price. I like that they have a lot of specials like pasta nights (wish I would've stopped by on those nights!), wine special days, and pizza special days. Service was fine. A little slow, but it was nearing the end of the evening so I'm sure it's quicker when it's more lively!

But at 7:00 PM we were told they still didn't have a table because the terrace was closed due to rain and they were trying to accommodate everyone inside. The problem is that the rain was clearly in the forecast all day, so this did not feel unexpected. It honestly felt like the restaurant overbooked and was not prepared for the situation. We ended up waiting around 20 minutes past our reservation time, sitting in a crowded entrance area with many other people also waiting for tables. It left a pretty disappointing first impression, especially when the table had already been booked in advance. The service also felt rushed toward the end. The receipt was brought to us immediately after we finished eating without us asking for it, which gave the impression they wanted to turn the table over as quickly as possible. That said, the lobster poutine was actually very good. The chocolate bonbons, however, were honestly disappointing. Three very small, dry chocolate candies for $15 felt excessive and not worth ordering.
