The service here makes me never want to go anywhere else. They know the food, the drinks, and the people. The drinks always hit. Whether it's sake, a local wine, or the newest cocktail they dreamed up, every drink is curated to be amazing. This place is more: the best dinner party of your life vibes than restaurant. Now the food. I crave the devilled eggs, I long for the savoury churros, and every dish is just incredible--thoughtful, executed well, and portioned well. Dachi is a true Vancouver spot, it's Canadian, it has a French influence, it has Asian fusion--that's Vancouver. And they have the relationships and supply chains to go with food and drinks. It just always felt like this would be a super place to mellow out, have a glass of good wine, relax with friends, either on a summer day or at night, any season. I finally got to check it out in person today. I went with a friend for a drink mid-day, sitting outside. The weather was lovely, and it was a perfect day. Carmen was our server and she was great. I appreciated how knowledgable she was regarding all the wine and cocktail selections. My friend had a glass of white wine which she loved, and I had an amazing cocktail with lavender and rose. They have a decent happy hour selection which, unfortunately, we were too early to partake of. Their regular wine menu is extremely extensive. What a great neighborhood place! You can walk up to sample and order wines at the bar. Ambiance is cool and intimate - nice spot for a date or gathering with a couple friends. Food was pretty good, although it felt like the wine was really meant to be the star of the show and the food was there to complement the wine. Felt less like a place for a sit down dinner. Overall a cool spot that I would return to try wines and get a snack.

UBC has changed QUITE a lot since i was in school but that's...another story for another time. underground parking was easy to find and it is free but you have to make sure that you give your plate to the host - there are signs in the lot so you can't miss it. we were greeted by the host and taking to our seat no problem - we were in a booth right in front of the bar so i got to see all the diff liquors and wines that they had. we had made our reso so that we can hit happy hour - i went with my usual g&t, a had the house white and s double-fisted (LOL) - hot cross fun to start then the house white as her 2nd. i had a sip of s' cocktail - autumn-vibes tho we all would have liked it to be a bit more spiced. we have a few appies on happy hour - oyster motoyaki, chicken wings and shishito peppers. the oysters - a don't do raw so this was the next best thing - were fresh and i liked the added touch of the wakame salad on the bottom. it was a nice surprise - sweet, sour, and a bit of chew added to the dish. the the chicken wings were HOT when they came out - as in temperature, which meant that they were first. they were juicy, crispy and perfect! you also get quite a few for the price you pay so def plus there. the shishito peppers were also a hit - blistered with the right amount of char! then came the main attraction - the steelhead trout that was shared among the 3 of us. it was def enough food given you get a green salad, warm potato salad, and mushrooms&greens as sides. there was a little mishap with the trout that was rectified right away. besides that, the trout was flaky and well-seasoned. we devoured that as well as the sides - we all LOVED the warm potato salad with the gherkins in it. the gherkins added a bit of crunch and tartness to the course - helped to cut the richness. the mushroom and greens - i loved the sauce that it was in (likely butter but hey yolo)! to rectify the mishap, the restaurant was nice enough to comp us a dessert - again, mistakes do happen and i wasn't asking it as i only wanted to provide feedback but here we are. we chose the applewood - an interesting twist to the normal apple tart. you have to get a bite of everything to REALLY appreciate this one all in all, i can see why this place was michelin recommended. it is def a bit of trek but something to keep in mind for that special occasion!

Since it's also a Michelin-starred restaurant, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally experience it. Our dinner lineup was: Aebleskiver Milk Bun Belgian Endive Dungeness Crab GBP Gnocchi BBQ Beef Striploin Most of the dishes are designed for sharing, with the exception of the Aebleskiver, which is served individually, so we ordered two. It's a round, savoury dough with herbs and pine nuts, topped with Kaluga caviar. The dough itself was delicious, but the caviar wasn't quite to my taste. I prefer caviar with that distinct salty, creamy and buttery flavour, while I found this particular Kaluga very mild and almost tasteless. Everything else, however, was fabulous. Dungeness Crab - My absolute favourite of the evening. Beautifully executed and packed with flavour. Belgian Endive - A very close second and probably one of the biggest surprises of the meal. Who knew endive could be this memorable? BBQ Beef Striploin - The Michelin-worthy dish for me. Beautifully prepared and a great way to finish our savoury courses. The Milk Bun and GBP Gnocchi were also excellent and rounded out the meal nicely. The atmosphere is polished but not overly formal--I'd describe it as business casual. Most guests were dressed accordingly; you could probably count on one hand the number who weren't. Despite the restaurant being busy, I didn't find it loud at all. We could comfortably chat and hear each other throughout dinner, which I really appreciated. Service was cordial, professional and knowledgeable. Each dish was presented with a clear description, adding to the overall dining experience without making it feel overly ceremonial. Overall, Published on Main lived up to its reputation. With the exception of the caviar not being to my personal taste, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The Dungeness Crab alone is something I would happily return for. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend to friends and family--especially for a special occasion or if you're looking to put that Amex Platinum dining credit to very good use!

We had the Elk served rare, and it was delicous, but I didn't liked the cubed pieces. The stuffed pappardelle was soo good. I liked the hint of lemon, as it really elevated the dish. The duck with beet sauce was so nice. The duck had a nice crispy skin. The beets were one of my favorites. They were slightly acidic and sweet. The summer beans were very smooth and not like previous bean dishes that I have tried. The milk buns with butter didn't have much flavor, but the bun itself was nice and fluffy. The Octopus' sauce was so good and the Octopus itself was tender. I found the Maitake a bit too salty for me, but otherwise it was enjoyable. The Lambchetta was our least favorite dish of the night. It was a touch salty and had a hint of hoisin to it. The strawberry mille flavors were good, but the puff was a bit dry. The strawberry gelato was my favorite dessert. The gellee was nice as well. Walk through the forest dessert sounded interesting, but didn't hit the spot. I didn't really enjoy the mushroom flavor. It reminded me of Chinese herbal medicine. The coffee flavor wasn't bad. I came across a door with a question mark on it and figured it was worth a shot. I was seated at the bar, which was so fun because I could watch the chefs at work. So many fun garnishes! Their wine list is so fun. Pet nat, orange wine, all the things. My waitress, who was incredible, suggested the vinho verde and SHE WAS RIGHT! So good, and not something you can get just anywhere. I got the olives, which are stuffed with boursin and drizzled with hot honey. I have not stopped thinking about them since. Oh my god. This place is so vibey and feels like an intriguing secret. Candle-lit, dark, moody, delicious. This is a place you would be excited to impress your friends with.
