Lemon drop Martini
Anna M.

Always inviting, indoor and outdoor seating, all coveted for all weathers. Every item delectable, from grilled cheese, to a perfect Reuben, to the drink selections fit for any palate, open late, and located in the heart of Katy, TX. Easy spot to visit for solid food and drink selections.

Effen Good Martini

I stopped in for lunch and had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with loaded fries and an Effen Good Martini. The restaurant was empty so the service was good. It's nice and spacious, and it has a good patio area. The Effen Good Martini is always on point. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap was good but would've been better if it came with a queso dipping sauce. The loaded fries were dry and overcooked. I probably should have gotten it with the buffalo chips. If I go back I will stick with the burger or truffle flatbread.

Super chill place Although the place wasn't very busy it to about 30-40 mins for someone the greet us and take our order. The waitress was nice The food was really good . Flatbread 9/10 Salmon sliders 10/10

Went on a Friday after work during happy hour. Sat at the bar with my husband. Server was attentive and responded pretty fast. Pizza was mediocre but the drinks were good. Would go back for happy hour for drinks. Also received fried pickles and they wee good. Open atmosphere and chatted with other people at bar. Prices were reasonable and was not overcrowded.

While I do enjoy coming here because of their nice selection of drinks, this particular time they were out of what I wanted which was featured on their menu- boo! So I went with the old fashioned and they did a nice job. Service was fine, not exceptional. I stopped in after a movie and there were plenty of places to sit for a drink. Definitely a great chill place!

Lunch time at Bar Louie, Katy
Bruce K.

Lunch time and work time, I needed a spot to sit for a couple of hours that has wifi and a beverage and a place to plug in my laptop. I found it this afternoon in Bar Louie. Clean, open, friendly. Not at all busy at 1 pm on a weekday such that I had a choice of spots to sit and found one with an outlet nearby so I could charge up my phone. Meanwhile, my van is plugged in to a power outlet in the parking garage and charging up that battery. From the lunch special menu, a salad and as much as I would have killed a beer, I stuck with water as I'm both working and driving today. Salad was a huge portion and the price was right. Bar Louie: a masterclass in overpromising and underdelivering. I ordered a burger, medium--an elementary request, one would think--but what arrived was a structurally unsound disaster, teetering on the edge of raw. Medium rare, at best. The patty was a feeble, pink mess, hastily assembled between two halves of a bun that disintegrated upon contact, as if recoiling in shame from the atrocity within. Every bite was an exercise in damage control, a desperate attempt to salvage some semblance of dignity from a meal that simply refused to cooperate. The fries, however, were quite good. A rare beacon of competence in an otherwise grim dining experience. And the water? Exceptionally refreshing--perhaps because it was the only thing that didn't require this establishment's culinary intervention. If you enjoy watching your meal collapse in real-time while playing roulette with proper cooking temperatures, by all means, visit Bar Louie. Otherwise, spare yourself.

Stopped in for happy hour. Ample bar. Indoor and patio seating Fire Pit for the cool nights Great music and DJ on weekends Parking garage and private parking lot available John & Joshua, the bartenders, were very attentive and personable. I sat on the patio and felt very taken care of even without being at the bar. Bartender on duty John & Joshua What I ordered: Drink Rock&Rita teremana, grand marnier orange ,agave, lime Food salmon sliders

The food was really good no complaints, the chicken was bigger than the bun. It wasn't spicy at all but flavorful. Our waitress could have been more attentive to say the restaurant was empty. The ambiance was a casual vibe nice place to stop in for lunch.

Worth going if you're a fan of music to try it out. Now for the restaurant... overall a great experience with very nice servers. Table of 4, waiter addressed us after about 10 minutes, got obviously upset when he figured out we weren't drinking alcohol, treated us poorly the entire rest of the visit (when he actually deigned to stop by). Ordered "hand battered" pickles, which is a lie, these came directly out of the freezer, had absolutely no flavor at all, and were not served with the dressing specified on the menu. He literally dropped them and ran. I had to go the service counter to get us napkins so we could try the food, and we had to flag him down to ask for the accompaniment. When confronted, he literally said "it doesn't come with anything", we replied that the menu said it did, and he insisted that he was correct. So, he was asked for ranch dressing (which is what the menu states was supposed to be served with it), and he stated, "oh, we don't have any of that, we've been out for weeks". REALLY? He just decided he didn't like us, so he treated us like crap. Burger ordered, listed on menu as 1/2 lb., might have been 5 ounces maximum and had no flavor at all. All of just picked at our food, because it was all just sad. In addition, meals that came with fries had the fries served almost 10 minutes after the meals. Saving grace, they were hot and well seasoned, so we finally had something we could all share to eat, but had to fight to get ketchup for those that wanted it. Would most definitely NOT recommend for any reason at all.

While the menu is somewhat limited, everything we ordered came out hot, fast, and really tasty. Everyone in our group enjoyed their burgers, and I especially loved the Brussels sprouts, shrimp salad, and the crab puffs. Parking can be a bit of a hassle in the area, but there is a parking garage adjacent to the restaurant which makes it manageable. Overall, it was a great birthday dinner and I'll definitely be returning.

The Brussel sprouts and crab hush puppies were great. The breakfast skillet, I could have done without. It had absolutely NO flavor. Luckily I asked for some sour cream and they were able to provide it. That's the only reason I was able to slightly enjoy the dish. The drinks. The mimosa was perfect. Hard to mess that up though right? I asked if they had any stouts and if so, if they could provide a sample. I'm so happy I asked for a sample and didn't just order the "one" stout they had. The beer was flat. So disappointing! Overall, the place was okay. I'd more than likely return for their drink happy hour, but it's a hard pass outside of that.

The pork belly was good, but it was way too busy with sweet potato puree, pickled onion, and a blueberry compote. The biggest issue was the wait, though. An hour wait for spaghetti, and basically a cacio e pepe w/ scallops. My drink order took 10 to 15 minutes per glass of wine, even though the bar was 9 feet from my table. This place has the potential to be awesome, but the front of the house and wait staff were seriously lacking, and the back of the house is obviously understaffed. I drove 30 minutes to this place, only to realize I will never return. I'm on for giving second chances, because everyone has an off night, but this is ridiculous. As I sit here an hour after I ordered my entrée, it still hasn't arrived. Also, I didn't get the second glass of wine.. Update: I just gave up. It wasn't fresh and the feta cheese was a bit too overwhelming. As for the spinach and artichoke dip, I felt like it was okay. The meat was cooked perfectly and the amount for each ingredients were given generously. I also really loved how you really can taste the smokiness from the bite. As for the pasta, I thought that it was good but not the best. It was starting to get a bit heavy with the amount of cheese and I do wish the cajun flavor could be a bit stronger. The chicken was also on the dry side but it's still pretty decent. Overall, this place is okay. Second, I discovered that they're owned by the same people behind Masraff's. That's a good start. They're located in a shopping center with several other businesses, including a cat vet right next door. While it was busy, I didn't have trouble finding a parking spot. Ambiance (4/5): This is part of where By Popular Demand (BPD) shines. The interior is trendy, with both tabletop seating and more comfortable chairs and sofas. There's a small patio in the front and a larger one on the side. There aren't a ton of seats inside, so think of it as a smaller, more intimate bar. Service (3.5/5): A little slow to start out with as it took our waitress a good while to come and take our order (we were sitting on the front patio). She did apologize for the delay, and she was friendly from there on out, so things improved throughout our evening there. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so I was on a liquid diet. I have heard they have a pretty awesome steak night on Mondays though. Next time around! Drinks (3.5/5): While they have a full bar, BPD is a cocktail bar. They have 10-12 craft cocktails, plus everything else you would expect at a bar. I went with That Cucumber Drink. I'm always a fan of any cocktail that incorporates cucumber. It was one of the few items on the menu that stood out to me. A decent number of of the offerings are more of your standard cocktails (margaritas, ranch waters, etc.) and a good number have brown liquor (while I prefer clear liquor). Not the best menu for my taste, but that's not to say it's not a solid menu. Next time around, I'll have to stop by for steak night or to try out their food menu.
