I've been to other locations, but this location was "mehhh" I had voodoo chicken and it was over salted, a side salad (which I got sick from the next morning) and I had a martini with wayyyyy too much vermouth. My friend ordered the bourbon burger and she says it was delicious, but her drinks were not strong at all but were too sweet. This place is amazing. They get a nice crowd, the food is really good, and love the martinis. I've been here for brunch, dinner and just drinks with friends. The service is great, and the managers Tyler and Theresa walk around and get to know their guests. Very friendly staff. A favorite is the firepit on the patio. I wasn't allowed to sit there because apparently there is a rule that kids can't be in there after 10. But I've been there with my kid and wife and left at 12. Then I went outside and tried to place a order thru phone, savanah who answered was quite rude. Sounded like the female who told us we couldn't be there. I drive 20min to come here. Great spot to grab unique drinks or to just have a cold beer. Very friendly staff especially the Bartender Andi. She knows me by name and knows my drink. She makes sure we are well attended to and has a very approachable attitude. This type of service is why we come back and we keep bringing more people to see her. Bar Louie is the best thing to happen in Katy in a long time! They have reverse happy hour which is so great. The music, happy hour menu and vibe is amazing but what is even more amazing is the server Candle (yes Candle)! Nice venue but absolutely horrible service. Walked in with 3 friends and sat at the bar. They were not busy and overstaffed. 4 staff talking at the other end of the bar never moved. We moved to that end and sat down. One of the bar tenders walked by and made direct eye contact with me. Never uttered a word and walked past. I got up from my chair a second time to approach another bartender and ask to be helped. We decided to go to the patio where two employees were playing beer pong. All total we saw 6 employees doing nothing while customers went unserved. We were never asked for another round so we left and went to world of beer where we had a great time. After reading other reviews i see this was not an isolated experience. Unless things change quick, this place will not last. read more

Came here to celebrate passing our midterms! Immediately sat and greeted by our friendly server. Samantha with the curly absolutely exceeded our expectations for our girls night. We got a bottle of wine and a couple martinis to pair with our apps we got. The nachos were a great portion to share and my California chicken club was so fresh tasting. She let us know that on Thursdays they have ladies nights with martinis for $5.50. We will for sure be back. read more

I love the food and atmosphere here. I love (loved) that I can bring my dog with me to sit out on the patio with friends on a nice night. However, I wish they were a bit stricter on rules regarding dogs. Last time I went with my dog, a guy arrived who seemed to be friends with all the restaurant staff. Either he worked there, or frequents the bar. He had his huge mastiff puppy with him. He let his dog off leash and his dog was roaming the bar taking leftover food off tables and jumping on people. the puppy (keep in mind like a 50lb puppy) then came up to my dog and wouldn't leave us alone. No one did anything about it. The puppy clearly wasn't socialized cause it was not giving my dog any space and was crawling on top of him. The owner after a few minutes finally came over to get his dog. I understand it's a dog patio and maybe I'm in the wrong, but the staff should have corrected this as I could tell other people were also bothered. read more

I just don't get the less than stellar reviews. My wife and I go here all the time and sit at the bar. Andy(i) is our bartender of choice and she makes a mean drink for us every time. Chandler is also a great bartender with a serious positive vibe. We have not had a bad experience ever here. The burgers and sandwiches here have always been great. We have never had to wait for service and we are always asked if we want another round at what I deem the appropriate time in our drink cycle, not too early and never after the drink is dry. I really feel the vibe here at Bar Louie in Katy is unique for our area and that is the reason we keep coming back. read more

I work in the service industry, so I am considerate and conduct myself in a very understanding way when I visit other bars/restaurants, and I especially don't often write reviews. I came here thanksgiving night (all consideration for the holiday prepared) and unfortunately was very disappointed by the service, still. We had an initial server and he explained to us that it was only his 4th day after lengthy times between our orders and the service of our drinks (among other singular things). So we gave him the benefit of the doubt. He then was cut and introduced us to our new transferred server. For some reason I had a renewed expectation of service, however it just didn't seem busy enough, nor were our orders complicated enough, to take as long as they did (like before). Again, we gave them the benefit of the doubt, as we could see the bar was a lot busier than tables. Even so, all circumstances and outcomes left me feeling.. not how I would ever want to make my customers feel. I'm not proud but for probably the first time ever I did not leave a 20% tip - it was clear they didn't really care for (or even expect) actually earning any kind of tip from us. I went with my husband for the first time in 14 months since the pandemic hit. I had one of the worst dining experience and left shaken with the disrespect met out by one male server. We had a large group of ladies sitting near us and he took care of their table and ours and the only time we saw him was when he came to take our order and then when he served us water. Another lady server got us the food & beer and after that we did not see anyone else. We waited and waited to order our second drinks, ask for water, ask for paper napkins....finally we decided enough was enough and walked over to the bar area and flagged another waiter for our check and a to-go box. we were told that our tab will be brought out soon and another 15 minutes later we walked out with the half eaten food plate looking for a to-go box and asked a random waiter to check us out at the checking station. Then we saw Our original server and he came by and said rudely 'oh I sent out your tab with her'. We casually mentioned to him that we would have liked another drink and we never saw him or anyone to which he rudely said 'I was serving a large group' and when I said we should perhaps have had someone else assigned then, mid sentence he retorted 'good night' and huffed away. I am a Sales Mgr for an oil and gas company and never in a million years have I seen such behavior in customer service. I am not returning back as there are other options in that area. This really is a 5 star place. We LOVED it. Just one little (big deal to me) thing keeps it a 4. The water they use in their tea is not filtered so the iced tea is nasty. Once they get this fixed I'm happy to bring it to a five. The atmosphere is awesome. Our service was PHENOMENAL! Our waiter was Spencer and he really was attentive and on top of it!! Great job. All of us loved our food. We had the bbq salad, the wedge salad and wings. The menu looks amazing and there are lots of things we want to try so we'll most definitely be back. Also the prices were great! Looking forward to returning soon. Please fix the water soon. Ohhhhh and before I forget.... it was such a pleasant temperature in there when we arrived but when we were paying the ticket they opened a garage door making it ghastly due to the muggy weather. I love this place! The restaurant and patio vibe is great and the atmosphere is always fun. It is a seat your self kinda place which goes with the laid back vide. When you walk in and there is no host stand anywhere its pretty obvious to seat yourself..not sure why everyone seemed to be so confused by that. Dominique was our server and she was so nice and professional! I always appreciate a waiter who seems to be there when you need them but is not constantly interrupting you, so she gets an A+! The most disorganized service I have ever seen. No one greeting you at the door and we never saw anyone that appeared to be a manager. Not good when it was only open to the public for 2-3 weeks. Possibly the manager was having too much trouble with the kitchen and their lack of ticketing system. We had a table of 10.....all serviced everything at different times and by random servers. All night we witnessed servers just coming out with food and wandering around until a guest would claim it as theirs. Unbelievable. read more
