    Traditional Breakfast
    Leah W.

I've tried Dish Society a few times to go, but dining in made my experience much better! I kept it simple and went with the traditional breakfast and substituted the toast that it usually comes with for a house made biscuit, and the fruit for the gouda grits. My food was very good. Those gouda grits absolutely stole the show and I can see why they are so popular!!! The bacon was crispy and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that while the biscuit was buttery and had great flavor, I believe it was somewhat over baked as it was more on the chewy side rather than fluffy. Other than that everything was great! I can't wait to come back just for the grits alone!!

Dish Society offers an amazing varieties of healthy and tasty food. Almost tastes like home cook and can tell on the quality. The atmosphere provides a clean, modern, and calm environment suitable for a fun brunch experience. Service was friendly and quick. Worth to try especially in this area!

The waffle has zero flavor it was just straight flour I didn't bother sending it back but it was not edible I couldn't bring myself to eat it. The chicken tenders had zero seasoning at all just bland chicken. My espresso Martin and beignets were the only good thing.

Katy location: Trust me when I say EVERYTHING was top notch from service to food...excellent! This location offered great food with a welcoming vibe. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles by both the managers and the wait staff. The team was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I loved is that there's seating both indoors and outdoors, so you can enjoy the beautiful weather while dining, especially this time of year when the holiday decorations are up. The restaurant is perfectly situated right in front of the central green space so my niece could play within view while we relaxed and enjoyed our meals, a total win-win! Now, about the food... Everything we ordered was absolutely DELICIOUS and packed with flavor. It's hard to pick just one dish to recommend, but if I had to, I'd say the cauliflower bites were my fav and are a definite must try. Perfectly seasoned with a little spicy kick. The beignets were another standout...light, crispy, and not overly sweet; plus it came with a little dipping sauce. I had the kale and mushroom pasta dish which was heaven for this pasta-loving girl. It was fresh and full of bold flavors. You could taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite (and the added shrimp were HUGE). Don't forget to grab a matcha latte. I had the lavender flavor and it was the perfect balance of sweetness. Highly recommend as well.

Shrimp & Grits with an over hard egg. French toast, a side of biscuit and an oat milk latte!

I have been a loyal Dish Society fan since 2018, and I keep coming back because everything they serve is fantastic, so it was time for a review. Their biscuits are absolutely delicious, and the shrimp and grits are always so tasty. I also love their lattes, perfectly crafted every time, and I adore that they always try to make cute latte art. The only thing I wish is that they'd have a calorie count on those biscuits...if anyone finds out, please let me know! Haha. Dish Society has earned a permanent spot on my list of brunch spots for their consistency.

We stopped by this morning for a quick breakfast after a long drive. The kids were excited to stretch their legs and run around outside before and after our meal. The food was great and was served in reasonable serving sizes -- enough to get us full but not to the point of feeling gross. Everything tasted fresh! Everyone was accommodating and helpful, too. The place felt clean and bright -- it was a great breakfast experience for the whole family. I'm so thankful my friend recommended this place. Can't wait to be back!

    Matcha Martini

Andrew the bartender made my friend and me an absolutely delicious matcha martini, customized exactly to our request! It was so good that it deserves a spot on the menu. Not only was the drink amazing, but Andrew was also one of the sweetest and most attentive bartenders we've had. He made the experience even better with his friendly personality and great service. Highly recommend asking for him!

While visiting the La Centerra Farmers Market, my family and I decided to try Dish Society, a Southern-style restaurant known for brunch and casual fare. Service at the counter was unwelcoming and unhelpful, which set a disappointing tone. We ordered a kid's breakfast platter, hot chicken sandwich, side pancake, and black beans. (I know some odd items but our youngest likes to snack). Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The chicken sandwich was overly salty with an extremely greasy bun, the pancake was dry and lacked flavor, and the black beans had an unusual taste. Only the kid's platter was somewhat enjoyable and 1/3 of it seemed to be jelly. Though I appreciate the hard work behind restaurant service, the overall experience did not justify the cost, and none of us left satisfied.

Update. Went to Dish Society for lunch and ordered the Texas Hot Chicken Sandwich and the deconstructed chicken pot pie. Like it is rare to find a place that doesn't miss!!!!!! The chicken pot pie was so soooo good. Tasted like someone's grandma was back there and whipped that up. The Texas hot chicken sandwich was so soooo good. Usually some chicken sandwiches aren't seasoned or fried good. Not the case with this sandwich. The chicken was fried to perfection and seasoned oh so good. And can we talk about bang for buck??? The portion sizes were huge. I definitely had leftovers for two days!!! This is going to be a staple for me while in Houston!

Great spot for brunch! Food was all very solid. I quite enjoyed my shakshouka and tater tots!

I normally like it here, but I'm not sure what happened today. I ask for a 9 ounce glass of wine $13 and I was given this... they run out of wine glasses?? I ask if this was correct and they said yes, it's just the different glass. Food was cold as well. Hopefully is not the new norm.

After living in Houston for…read more15 years and dining all over the city, this was by far the most disappointing restaurant experience we've had. What made it even more frustrating is that we've been to the Cypress location many times, and every single visit there has been exceptional -- great food, great service, and consistently enjoyable. Unfortunately, the La Centerra location was the complete opposite. We waited over an hour for our food, only to receive the wrong appetizer. The fajita plate arrived cold and without rice, beans, or tortillas. We sent both dishes back. The replacement appetizer -- ceviche tostadas -- finally arrived, but it was overloaded with lemon to the point of being unbearably sour. Meanwhile, there were still no tortillas, rice, or beans in sight. No drink refills, no updates, and barely any service during the entire wait. After another long stretch of waiting, we finally asked the server what was happening, only for her to return and tell us the kitchen was closing and they no longer had tortillas, rice, or beans available. At that point, after nearly 1.5 hours, we walked out with nothing but a to-go box of fajita meat. To the manager's credit, they removed the appetizer and fajita charges from the bill, but the experience itself left such a bad taste that it completely overshadowed the gesture. Extremely disappointing, especially compared to the excellent standards we've experienced at the Cypress location. Sadly, we will not be returning to this location.

They serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday until 330. The brunch menu is huge. It is not a super large menu, which I feel very endearing. We decided to try the bagel and lox with cream cheese, the Buzz burger with fries, and their homemade chips. They start off by bringing you this beautiful craft of bottled water. That to me was an amazing bonus. We also ordered two sodas which came in a can. I sort of wish it was a more of a fountain drink than one can of soda for the price. *Now service was super slow. However, the waitress did come and tell us that they are running a little behind and she apologized for it and she was super sweet, so that made up for the weight. How do I known how long it was going to take, I don't know if I would've stayed, but in the end, the food was amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend is a hamburger snob and he kept saying how good it was how fresh it was and how perfectly cooked it was. They serve you shoestring fries that feel like they're double fried and they were phenomenal. My bagel was toasted perfectly and had a very good amount of cream cheese and lox. As a Jewish girl living in the area that I do, it's very hard to find good bagels with lox and cream cheese. I will most definitely be back for this sooner than later. The homemade chips took quite a while to come out, and at one point I was ready to say we don't need it, but these potato chips beat Buccees beaver chips, 100%. They were super fresh and very crunchy and tasted amazing. I will definitely recommend those to anybody that orders some. My boyfriend then ordered a tropical sunrise smoothie and it was so tasty and tasted like a strawberry banana smoothie. Now once again that did take a long time to come out and at one point, we were wishing we had not ordered it but once we did get it, it was really good and I highly recommend it. The restaurant is not very large and it's the perfect brunch spot for anybody looking for a smaller Cafe with very good choices.

Tables are well spaced plenty of room eight crisp environment really just a very comfortable ambience. The services superlative from the moment you walk in in which you are immediately accommodated to the server who takes an order and then the servers who serve the food which is not necessarily one in the same. It's simply a very efficient service system and very pleasant if you're a customer. You get warm food. In my case I had hollandaise with Salman underlying it, which was very good. The eggs were cooked perfectly the hollandaise not by any means obnoxious but a very deliberate Irving and a wonderful salad, which both underlines the egg and is served as a side with the eggs, which were perfectly poached. In so far as the buzz is concerned, there are wines and beer available and really quite an extensive menu in both. I enjoyed a beer with mine, which I know it sounds like an odd combination, but it worked quite well for me. Really this is a wonderful addition to Katy options for breakfast or brunch.

Our waitress was super sweet but you could tell they were either understaffed or not used to being that full. It took super long time for all of our food to come out. Appetizers came over 40 minutes after ordering and the mains came over an hour and 15 mins or so after we arrived, and that was with the mains being ordered halfway through the apps. The first bite of the oyster was ok. It didn't taste like it was just made but maybe pre-prepped perhaps. We were supposed to receive bread soon after the first bite but we didn't. It was difficult to flag someone down because the waitstaff was moving fast and bringing out food for all the tables. We received our appetizers and then I had to let them know that we didn't get bread. So our bread and appetizers were eaten together. Now onto the food. We ordered the shrimp, jollof ball, calamari, and tacos. The calamari was straight up not good. We didn't finish it and no one in our party thought it tasted fresh. It had a very odd texture. It wasn't chewy or have a bite like normal calamari does but it was like a sponge. We all took one piece. Our party is all about not wasting food but the fact that the appetizer was not finished was very telling. The shrimp had good flavor but wasn't spectacular. The tacos were good. The jollof ball was spicy and nice. Between the appetizer and the entree there was over 35 minute gap. For this reason, we asked if we could have more bread, but they said they charged for extra bread. Tbh, I don't mind if places charge little for bread service, but if it takes over 35 minutes for the entree to come out, I'd expect the restaurant to give another piece of bread per person for no fee. That's just good customer service but alas we declined the bread. For the mains we ordered the brai (10) up charge, the lamb chops, the ribeye, and pork chop. The ribeye was great, cooked well, juicy and with good flavor. Lamb chops were also nice. The pork had an interesting flavor that my party member wasn't fond of, but it was cooked nicely and was reasonably juicy. The big miss was the brai. It had a 10 dollar upcharge for 1 row of lateral axis short rib, 1 lamb chops, and 1 sausage. The short rib was fine but a crap ton of fat. The lamb chop was good, the sausage was raw in the middle. When I brought it up to someone that the sausage was raw, they took the same sausage and cooked it until it was done. Keep in mind the restaurant is dark and my other companions had some of the sausage but the outer pieces. I had a piece in my mouth and had to spit it out because I could feel the raw meat sausage texture in my mouth. Instead of bringing me a new sausage they took the same one, which to me is outrageous especially because I had spit out a good piece. The waitress apologized but I had to ask to speak to the manager instead of someone coming to our table first. When they brought the same sausage out, it rolled off the plate onto the table....i just accepted it. They took off the 10 dollar up charge off the bill but I don't think that was enough especially with the whole debacle of the sausage being raw. I expected the restaurant to have a solution but I was put on the spot about what they needed to do. I wished I'd asked for the 1 meal to be half off or more than 10 dollars off just because of everything and the food quality and the terrible wait times. The mashed potatoes also weren't great. Green beans were good, jollof rice side was good. Desserts were fine. All in all, we expected better quality of food and service.

Let me start by saying I've been here multiple, multiple times & I've never had any food items that weren't good. I always get breakfast (even if it's lunch time) so I don't know much about the lunch items. Not only is the food outstanding with a creative twist, it's consistent. Over the years, the place has expanded several times so now there is a decent amount of dine-in seating in addition to the outdoor seating. The place still stays packed but with their wait list in advance/text notification system & efficiency in seating customers, if there is a wait things move along smoothly. Additionally, anyone who is waiting knows it's worth the wait!! The service staff are friendly. The atmosphere is homey & they decorate for the various holidays & seasons. Owner/chef Lori is always walking around asking guests if everything is ok. On at least 2 occasions she happened to chat with me/my guest about some dietary restrictions & she whipped something up for us to try. My go-to dish is the harvest breakfast where you can pick 4 breakfast items from a list. This is a great way to sample more menu items. Here's my take on some of my favorites: - Sourdough pancakes are thin & really delicious. - Belgium Leige waffle is very sweet with the pearl sugar "nuggets" in them so taste them before you add a lot of syrup. - Scrambled eggs are well seasoned, not bland. - Avocado & tomato or the fresh fruit are nice light touches as one of the side item choices. - Fried chicken tenders are really good. Spice level 3 (medium) is not that spicy. It's flavorful. - Grilled chicken tenders are good. As much as I typically eat grilled or baked chicken, I allow myself to choose fried for these. - Grits are creamy. I get them with no cheese. I'm not a big grits person but I do like these! The menu is very extensive. It includes vegan, vegetarian, keto & gluten free. Is the breakfast a little pricey, the answer is "it's all relative." Sometimes it's just worth paying for a great meal. In case you haven't gotten the message, Harvest Kitchen is a must try. Do yourself a favor & have a visit. I'm betting it will stay on your list as a repeat eating spot!! Tips: - Use the text message wait list & signup before you leave your house. - You can always get 1 pancake on the side for $5. - 15% gratuity is included at checkout, as you pay you'll get options for an additional % or custom % like 0%, 3, 5% or more.

Service was friendly and the food was good. I am not vegan but got the portobello mushroom sandwich was tasty. I also enjoyed the lavender berry lemonade. Telling my family and friends about this place!
