That was the best fillet mignon that I have had in as long as I can remember. Cooked to perfection, tender as butter and the seasoning-heaven. We came here last year to celebrate birthdays and had Tiffany as our server...she was the BEST and our food was amazing so we had to come back again this year to celebrate... It really really sucks to leave a bad review especially during these times but I truly don't quite have words for this place.... I don't even want to explain in the horrible experience we had here in full details. The service was slow... the food was even worse. It wasn't the bartenders fault as she had a full bar and all of the tables orders coming in but her managers were all standing around like deers in headlights. She was actually the only saving grace because she was sweet and apologetic . We had the SMELLY spaghetti and meatballs and the overbaked/greasy "stuffed mushrooms" I felt sick after two bites of my pasta and did not finish at all... it was more like "burnt marinara soup with noodles and some old meat" My bf was starving and scarfed down most of his mushrooms before he realized what did I just put into my body. We had dinner at Bar Meets Grill about a month ago and we had Ciriaco as our server. He was the best! He helped us with the menu, giving us pertinent info on the items we were considering. He was extremely polite and attentive. He even moved our chairs (at his own suggestion) so that we could have a better view out the window. The food was good and worth the price. We came here for dinner a couple of nights ago. There aren't a lot of options for food at Pala mid-week, but this place had a nice variety of choices. Starting first with the bread - they serve an olive bread along with a little bit of sourdough. I'm not really an olive person and my hubby definitely is not. We asked for more sourdough (we only had two small baguette sized slices) and it came after our entrees. My hubby and I shared a caesar salad, minus the capers and anchovies. There was something in the dressing that burned my lips. It was tasty - I'm just not sure what caused the burning sensation. For my entree, I got the meatball appetizer. My hubby got the burger. We shared the brussels sprouts side. Meatballs - yum! The burger was good per my hubby. So were the sprouts. What was REALLY good were the fries! I rarely eat fries but enjoyed several! Service was good (aside from the extra bread not being brought out). My water glass was never empty. We would definitely come back. I recommend making a reservation because the space isn't large and it does get busy. read more

Wifey had the pork chop and it was so fat and juicy. She couldn't eat it all so she kept feeding me pieces of it. Literally one of the best chops I've ever had. I had a pizza and it was good, nothing special just good. Our waiter or bartender had zero personality and forgot about us towards the end but other servers picked up the slack. We were staying the night at the Casino's hotel and decided to try this restaurant for dinner. We were having a late dinner maybe around 8:30 and upon arrival were seated very quickly. The menu had some good choices for us and so we decided to start with the Crab Cakes. They provide you with a bread basket with a nice variety but don't fill up on bread when you have an appetizer coming. The Crab Cakes were shaped like balls which was different for me to see but they were absolutely delicious and non bready. I ordered the cheeseburger and they hubs ordered the frutti de mare pasta. The burger was ordered medium but it was more like medium rare, but still very good. The pasta had very large shrimps on top and had great flavor. Let me start by saying everything happens for a reason. It was my birthday yesterday and we were heading to San Diego for dinner and the freeway was closed because of a fire. So we came to bar meets grill. Soon as we got here, I was a little skeptical because of the menus, they were laminated paper. I almost walked out. We started off with lobster bisque and shrimp cocktail. It was great lobster bisque was excellent. After that we got the lamb chop for dinner my wife and I split it. The lamb chop was absolutely great. But the best part of the night was our waiter, he was on top of everything nicest guy in the world, best waiter in the world. I've eaten here multiple times but this is now my favorite thing on the menu. I sat at the bar with my boyfriend and usually get a nice hello welcome but was yelled at because I was trying to switch a short bar stool for a taller one (I'm short about 5ft tall) and one of the bartenders yelled at me telling me I had to sit somewhere else. We were happy another nice bartender helped us out and he gets a 5/5 review from me.. sad part is an older lady came to sit at the bar in that short stool and she could barely eat her food bc she was short like me and she complained and nobody did anything about it. read more

We ordered the frutti de mare, seabass , and a special that isn't on the menu a variety of seafood. All the dishes were delicious. The seabass had a soy ginger glaze with wasabi potatoes. The sauce on the frutti de mare was perfect . The seafood special had a variety of clams, mussels, calamari , shrimps and etc. We enjoyed our entrees. 3-1/2. 4 star We stayed 2 nights at the resort where this bar/grill is and decided to eat dinner here both nights, The first night we shared a pepperoni pineapple pizza and and an ice cold beer , we really enjoyed it, good service clean place and just an all around good experience. The second night our cousin joined us who happens to be handicapped, we walked up at 6:15 pm and were asked if we had a reservation , we said no and were asked to come back at 7:30, reluctantly we accepted ( we were really hungry and were really looking forward to eating here again, they asked for my phone number and sent us away.. hangry and disappointed , but understood due to Covid capacity restrictions. We were playing slots nearby the grill and I kept looking over towards the grill , at 6:45 I decided to get up and walk up to the hostess to ask her if there's anyway we can get in earlier, just as I walked up another party of three asked to be seated and she asked them if they had reservations they said no and she immediately grabbed three menus and said follow me, I jumped in saying you're going to seat them but not us? She said oh you're Carrie right? Ok I'll seat you too. I was beyond upset, this system does not work! The hostess wasn't even apologetic at all, she was kind of smug about it. Her name I didn't catch but it starts with M, older woman with kind of an accent . It wasn't a good feeling, I did not enjoy my dinner and kind of lost my appetite due to being so upset. read more

I gotta say, for the prices they charge in this restaurant, they really need to start doing a better job. I don't know if it's the result of all the restrictions, if they have lost a chef or two or just don't care but the last two or three times we have dined here, we were disappointed. Twice, a filet mignon was served cold. Not lukewarm, cold. Cooked exactly as requested but it just have just sat in the window for 10 or 15 minutes before it was brought to us. The lobster bisque, which we used to thoroughly enjoy at the Oak Room, has lost its flavor and amount of pieces of lobster. Plus, the pastry topping on mine was black on one side, not toasted to a golden brown. During the shutdown, the "indoor" places like the Oak Room and sharing places like the buffet, are closed. So getting a nice meal inside Pala means you have to eat here. I truly hope they are not taking advantage of this situation to reduce their quality and attentiveness. Since we enjoy the casino, we will be back and I hope that my future reviews will reflect their improvements. Be cautious, be mindful, and be outspoken if you do not get a satisfactory meal. Made. 7:30pm reservation, got here, the man at the front asked my last name for the reservation, asked me to hold while my table was getting wiped down. Then 15 minutes later he says, we can give you a reservation for 8:30pm ??! What ?? I said I had reservations for 7:30pm... meanwhile he seated two parties of 4 people each, then he apologies and said oh yes we have a table. Stuck us in the worst table at front where you sit and get forgotten. 20 minutes later our waiter said, I'm ready to take your order, I said "you haven't even taken our drink order." He said "I apologize we are short staffed." It's like, if I get the $90 bill, do I say "I apologize, I only have a $20?" And it's all good??? Bottom line, service was terrible. Whether it was a one night thing or they are always this bad, I don't know. But I'd you are hungry.. make sure you come anticipating an hour wait for your food AFTER you place your order. I love the name of this place! A take on the boy meets girl! In most cases, boy meets girl, boy loses girl and then boy wins girl back again! The story of our visit plays out much like boy meets girl at Bar Meet Grill. First, my husband won me over with a spa day. Next, we were hungry post massages. We just could not wait for an evening wine pairing that he reserved, a small loss. In the end, we wander into Bar Meets Grill for their happy hour, a newer offering at the Pala Casino Spa and Resort, a big win! We tried several items on the happy hour menu. Bar Meets Grill has a range of food items between $1 and $7 and alcoholic beverages available from $5 to $8. It is probably one of the best happy hours in our area. The highlights consisted of several of my favorite food items: avocados, pasta, and ice cream, not one of these dishes were typical. The presentation, taste and value cannot be beat. The fried avocados, the mushroom ravioli, and the banana split each at $5 = still winning! The happy hour was so unique, I knew we had to plan a UYE here, post National Banana Day. It's an opportunity to introduce the place to other Yelpers in our region. We love that this location will bring people out from North County, San Diego, Riverside and the OC. You don't have to take up gambling (unless you want to) because you will come out ahead here any day. The BMG bartenders are absolutely amazing. The food comes out quick and hot. They remember your favorite drink and treat non gamblers just the same as the high rollers. Especially appreciate Rigo who has patience for customers young and old. Get a few more wait staff if possible and use the perimeter tables during concerts. Losing many customers who can't get food in time for the show. Get rid of the short little chairs at the bar. This place is great but could be fantastic with a few little tweaks. read more

I had the clam linguini, I had a lot of linguini, but where were the clams? I had a l lot of shells but very little class. I couldn't taste them. My husband had the rib eye steak. I wouldn't get that again. It's not worth it. This was our first time staying at this hotel, Pala. I'm not sure if I will stay here again. The steak is NOT worth $98.00 for a 20-oz steak! That steak should have been massaged, grass fed, etc, to have charged that amount of money. The service was great. Be prepared to be filled with smoke (cigarette) smell. read more

The hostess refused to let me place an order to go to take to my hotel room for my son. And she was rude about it. So I had to sit at the bar, order dinner, and then ask for a box. Stupid and totally customer unfriendly. The bartender was fairly nice about it, but I still had to box my own plate of spaghetti to take to my room. This was my first time here, we were staying at the hotel and celebrating a friend's birthday. Since the Oak Room is closed their menu had a few items from there as well as the Bar Meets Grill menu. All the food we ordered was very tasty, but it all came out lukewarm. I had the pork chop, served with mashed potatoes, a little bit of broccoli, and 1 asparagus. The mashed potatoes were a bit unusual it was a cross between mashed potatoes with scalloped potatoes. Not my favorite but they were good. We ordered the lobster bisque it was good. I love Pala, win or lose. This review is completely about the restaurant, and has nothing to do with how the slots were playing. We visited on a Thursday evening, without a reservation, and were seated promptly. SERVICE: The bar service was a little slow, I'm pretty sure this was more on the bar than our waiter, as he would ask us if we wanted another drink when ours were half-full: as if he knew it might take a while. Our waiter was nice and informed us of the specials. DRINK: I had wine, and it was perfectly fine. The rest of our table ordered martinis, and they were also quite good. They have a full bar, but they do not provide you a wine list/drink menu. FOOD: I ordered the special of the evening, which was Salmon with "Risotto". Now, we were a party of three: three people who can make risotto at varying levels. When we saw my plate come out, we couldn't help but laugh: sitting next to this piece of salmon was a serving of mushy white rice. Back when Pala had the Italian restaurant in this space, they had some of the best risotto in the world, so we were extremely disappointed. We brought the issue to our waiter, who then told us that the "chef said this is risotto". I'm not a Karen, so I was fine to eat around the white rice and enjoy my special salmon. Except, this $42 piece of salmon was the chewiest, toughest thing I've ever eaten in my life. I've had the salmon here before, and it was delicious, so I don't know what was going on this night. Maybe they had a bunch of salmon and rice going off and they decided to get rid of it. The rest of my party had the Tomahawk special, which they said was great although a little under cooked (Rare vs. Medium Rare), a BMG Salad (which the menu doesn't tell you what's in it, so ask), and a Poke Salad which was delicious. For dessert we had the Pineapple Upside Down Cake, which was fine. The table next to us had a long list of dietary restrictions, and the waiter seemed accomodating, so if you have allergies I'm sure you can just ask for modifications. COVID: I mean, this is in a casino where everybody has their masks off to smoke and drink, so I didn't find this too crucial. There's hand santizer available upon entering, and all staff were wearing masks correctly. I'm pretty sure this was just an off-night, so maybe I'll come back and try it again. She is so knowledgeable of the food and menu inside and out, PLUS Not to mention her wonderful hospitality! If you are going to go for dinner I 100% recommend sitting in her section, that is a choice you will not regret. A decent spot for food and if you're here around HH I would for sure come because the food is pretty good. Of course the HH menu is a little small but that's to be expected. Food was mediocre and service was about the same. Saw the great HH special so decided to check it out. The HH prices were fair. $1 tacos (chicken or steak), $4 domestic beers, and other small plates for a great price. My family of 4 got a tacos, clam&mussels with tomato base, ravioli of the day (four cheese), and Linguini Manhattan (not on the happy hour menu). Steak taco was good but needed a little more seasoning. Chicken taco was meh, chicken was too dry and missing flavor. Clam & Mussels were too salty even with the bread. Ravioli was good , very cheesy (YUM) but too salty. Linguini Manhattan was expensive for what you get. The calamari was mushy and the pasta was wayy over cooked (too soggy), and again too salty. read more

I attended a retirement dinner for a friend and coworker at Bar Meets Grill tonight and it was wonderful!!! Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious! I would have been happy with just the awesome pizzas and charcuterie we had for appetizers but the pasta entree ....wow! So delicious and filling!! Huge portions, I could only eat half even though I wanted to keep eating lol. The special dessert Chef Anila ( who came out to talk to my friend) came up with for us was amazing!!!!
