I work for a construction company in Livermore, CA. Since 2007, Bar None Sacramento has helped me sell Generators, Scissor Lifts, Bob Cat Skid Steere Loaders and Club Cars, Gators and Gradalls. Depending on the unit; before auction, expectations are not too high because the equipment may be old or needs work. Sometimes the repairs would cost more than what the unit is worth itself. This sounds like a commercial... Back in June 2018, after receiving the results for three units sold the same day, I actually had to read the email twice to make sure I read it correctly then called my contact, Jason Campbell to confirm because two Bob Cat Loaders and a Gradall sold for 10 times more than what I was expecting for each unit. My most recent experience was the auction held last Saturday, 11/09/19. I had a generator for sale for three years at a local business. No luck there. It was time to move it to Bar None which I was suppose to do in the first place. Last Friday before leaving work I confidentally told management that it's going to sell. When I woke-up Monday morning my in-box had an email from Jason @ Bar None. I was right, it sold, and satisfied with the result. If you are selling equipment, send it to Bar None. Bar None has never let me down. To sum up my experience for the past twelve years, I feel like a contestant on a game show, you never know how much you are going to win. I attempted to purchase a 2003 Design Conecpts boat at auction. Al;though I was the highest bidder, and though it was not a reserve auction, my winning bid was listed as "Not Accepted". The auction company then put the item up for sale on Facebook of all things, and then sold it for more money than I had bid. The thing I find immoral and illegal about this is, there was not a reserve price stated, nor was it stated this was a reserve auction. The Bar None site says its lots are "No Reserve" unless clearly marked as such. What a bunch of clowns- I've never seen this on such a supposedly "professional" site. They better be careful - their customers might notice since they're selling on Facebook, why are they needed at all??? They also seem to have some folks on here giving 5 star reviews to this organization, on every other review they give is 1 star. I think Dave S. works for their company, and is pretending to be a customer. How about it, Dave S.?? I was excited to win a massage chair for my wife for Mother's Day. I rented a trailer to go pick it up and also paid a $30 fee for a wire transfer to pay. I got there received the pickup slip and waited for the forklift to help load. Problem was the chair I won was not there. The forklift driver said " Oh I think the guy took the wrong chair". I said what? He was supposed to pick up the orange one that was not wrapped in plastic and not close to the quality I won. Went in office and said I can take the orange one or refund and that was it. Needless to say my wife who suffers from leg pain is not getting the chair she was hoping to relieve some pain. They wouldn't even hold one for me when they get a shipment in. So I am out $100 for the trailer rental, gas, time, and the wire fee. My question is how did the yard guy know that the guy took the wrong chair when there were four others still waiting to be picked up? So disappointed and angry. The actual auction time to view cars in person is on the second Thursday and second Friday of each month, save your time and gas and completely disregard what it says about the second Saturday, as that's just like any other day where you can only go on the website but cannot test out the vehicle in person. This appears to be how it is permanently going to be going forward from April 2026 onward. read more

Attention!! Must check out the cars before you bid! All there cars have major issues and damages and check engine lights will come on after you buy and drive the cars home be aware trust me. Why do people buy at auctions and think they are getting fully warrantied retail items? Items are auctioned for a reason. Most of the complaints I see on here are due to people NOT reading the description but accepting the terms anyway... Where are the laws protecting people from fraudsters {disguised as a business) from getting over on consumers? Particularly I'm talking about a company holding an online auction. They sold items knowing that the items were no good intentionally defrauding people from their money because when I seen the items and they were literally painted & cleaned and represented as new, I expected new items I had already sold half the items that I had purchased but there was a kink in the line, they sold me items that are literally ruined the lawn mower is completely rusted out on the underside & the blades are completely severed. They went as far as to remove every single pulley and belt from it and then paint the item after it was run into the ground, clean it up really really well and put the cover plate back on as if it were new and sell it to some fool. So, i obviously got 500% percent trash in all 3 pallets that i bought from them. so i can't sell them. i am out a lot of money.. They were covered in water and rain and yucky stuff, cuz they were closed on sundays and i won them on saturday evening and it rained during the night of sunday so now they are soaked water logged rusty and broken;. Just to make it a little worse right.,. These items can not be sold. I'm out nearly 2500 but it was known by the auction company what they were selliing. ON THE CARS THAT ARE BROKEN DOWN THAT THEY SELL - THEY WRITE NOT WORKING ON THE CAR IN BIG PRINT.... WHYYYY WOULD I ASSUME IT WOULD BE ANY DIFFERENT FOR THEIR OTHER STOCK. How can a legal business be allowed clean the items to make them look brand new so that somebody would want to purchase them ... after i found out what i had bought and was upset - they told me if i needed my money back i could wait until next month and sell them to some other fool. WTF why would they say that? especially saying oh their not my items so i hold no responsibility to the items that seller sold me. they have an obligation to be a half decent human and look at them and see that the lawn mower was black like it had caught fire and then rusted out because they used water to put it out and left it.... I wish that I had read all these reviews before wasting my time going to the auction yard in Sacramento. I bought an 'unused' rotary tiller attachment in a crate which looked brand new and it was half the price of a similar attachment from a local dealer. Unfortunately the main shaft on one side was broken, but broken in a way that was hidden from sight even during a close inspection when I unboxed it. Spent hours putting it together hit and miss because it came with no instructions, but finally got it hooked up to the tractor, only to find that it was broken and useless. Bar None just gave me their "as is - where is" speech and said they had no manufacturer information. So essentially they have junk that is packaged up to hide defects and lure folks in to make the purchase, after which they can go down to the beach and pound sand. What a business model. If you take anything away from this review it is to simply avoid these crooks and hopefully they go out of business. At least this life lesson was learned only costing $500, but you can learn it just by reading this review! read more

They turned my four pallets into three pallets completely lost the fourth pallet! sold all of it , whoever purchased got a pallet for free of flooring. I never buy on this place again, most everything unused is broken and they dont show on picture, I bought almost $8100 and storage is assembled wrong , mower was broken and other storage had lot of damage (basically trash) and went talk to the main manager and he wants to fight me on the yard outside, is on cameras there, never I will buy from there again , manager said if i don't like the service load with your hands, and the other manager at the front did not want to talk , this the second time , I didn't learn from the first time, brand new equipment broke , never again read more

The same excavators keep showing up at these auctions. I think they bid on their own equipment and then win the auction if the item does not get the price they want. So essentially this isn't an auction. If you follow many of the items on the auction they end up going for pretty much full retail price so they aren't many deals to be had here. I just watched an excavator sell with 3 hours on it and next month the same excavator with 3 hours is listed again. It said the auction was won but I think they won it. I was verry nervus after wining a auction and needing to drive 5 hours to go pick the item up and seeing all the bad reviews. Then i read the reviews and the complaints were about problems with the stuff they bought and sounded more like they didn't do and research before they bid. I just picked up my mini excavator on Tuesday every thing went well the staff were friendly. We did have to load it our selves or wait longer but it ran so it was no problem loading. read more

Purchased a new Mower King trencher. $2640. The welds to the chain tensioner broke in the first 5 minutes. Had it rewelded and was able to start trenching. After about an hour the trencher chain stopped. Something internally broke. Long and short, they sell junk. I called to see if I had any recourse and they stated no but I could resell it at the auction!?!?. They also stated the item was not new, but unused ?! Wtf does this mean. I understand the risk of an auction however one would expect a new product to work for a while? They sell a half dozen of these trenchers as well as augers and many other cheap harbor freight quality devices every month. Mower king company is no where to be found. Product is junk. "take a look a the video" they said "I asked if it was running ok or on all 6.. take a look at the video" Anyway .. got it home running on 5 out of 6.. obviously not running correctly. OK...I wish I had read these before. We purchased a car from them on Saturday. Thank goodness I bought the return option! Drove it 10 miles before the lights started coming on. Took it to my mechanic and it had over $5500 in major mechanical issues!! This included the emergency braking controller. My mechanic told me it was obvious that this car had significant issues and the consigner knew it. I called and was able to take it back and they were nice. My daughter was crushed because it was to be her first car:( It was heartbreaking to see her cry because "we got ripped off". I did give them the inspection report and told the rep that I would hope they: 1. Put this info with the care now that they know if they are going to auction it again. 2. Do not auction it again. This kind of issue causes people to give bad reviews. I hope I do not see it come up again without the warning. It has been many hours of driving and wear on me. Been going to their auction for years. Recently bid on item for $600. Auctioneer asked for $700 several times, but no offers. Finally he said sold. I came back with a trailer, and got a bill for $900 plus fees. Made them replay tape. It did show what I said, but then after the auctioneer said sold, he said 900. And they put the broken ones more into the middle of all the items so you don't see or notice them. Nowhere on the site does it say that these items may be broken or damaged. Bar none isn't organized enough to do online auctions, so don't bother unless you're there in person. Also if you're a seller, note that you're likely not getting online bids counted towards your auction, and thus not getting as much as you might have for your items. After a couple of tries with Bar None, I'm giving up and listing them as unreliable in my portfolio. read more

Took off a day of work to unwrap all the awesome items i purchased. I was so happy about winning the Lawn Mowers from Ryobi until i noticed every single one was missing the most important part, The Lithium battery! I seen online they are pretty much 150 to 180 each. I spent my savings on 3000 worth of broken incomplete items and the way they packed them damaged many of them. So after crying all afternoon wondering why they would not disclose that fact I found out pretty much everything else is returned or damaged goods from Home Depot. I have items with repair slips that were never repaired. i have broken mirrors broken lamps broken broken wheels on almost everything. These items were bundled and shrink wrapped by Bar None and i could not see inside to check for the battery or the damaged caused by the employees. I dont even know how to approach this but i feel it is very wrong and this company should be ashamed of themselves. I feel that i will never ever ever trust an Auction House again. I have enough junk i did not need more. I will reach out to the owner to report all the defective and missing parts and see what he says. i will report back. read more

Letter sent to Bar None Auctions "On 4/18, your salesman Dave Yungen contacted me about auctioning off our JLG33 scissorlift, assuring me our machine would bring in somewhere between $3500 and $4500. This was barely acceptable, but it's an old machine and we really don't use it much anymore, so we agreed that Bar None would auction it off. " I told him that we needed to net a minimum of $3000 or I wasn't interested in selling it. Again, he said that he was very confident that it would bring in $3500 to $4500, no problem, and said he would set the min selling price in order to assure that we would indeed get the minimum price we needed. He left a copy of the agreement, I signed it the next day and he came and picked it up. I then paid to have the machine delivered to your site. "Then, a week or so later, I received a phone call from another individual from Bar None informing me that the machine had sold for $2500. I told her that there must be a mistake because Dave was supposed to have set the minimum selling price so that we would receive $3000. She assured me that it had sold for $2500 and that she would have Dave call me and discuss the matter. "Some days went by and I never did get a call, which, as I'm sure you'll agree, was somewhat less than professional. So I called again and reached Dave this time. He readily admitted that we had indeed discussed the min selling price but that he had forgotten to plug that min into the bidding. He said he would see what he could do and let me know asap. "Nevertheless, it was I who had to call again, after another week waiting for him to contact me. I had cooled off a bit and actually suggested that he split the difference with me on the 10% sales commission, which I believe was more than generous on my part. But now another couple of weeks has gone by and he hasn't yet tried to contact me. I tried again today, but once again got no return call. "Needless to say, I'm done with trying to be understanding. Bar None needs to send me a check for $3000, and needs to do it quickly. I know Bar None has already been paid. I've been more than patient and understanding, but this level of unprofessional conduct is unforgivable as far as I'm concerned, and I'm pretty sure that, in my shoes, you'd feel exactly the same way. "In essence, we had an agreement; Dave made a completely understandable and at least partially forgivable mistake in not making sure the min price was set. People make mistakes; I understand. But the handling of the situation is far, far beyond acceptable. Best Regards, ----------" As you can see from the letter above, it was clearly a mistake on the part of Dave Yungen, who freely admitted that he had simply forgotten to set the limit, yet Bar None not only refused to pay us the $3000, they actually took their normal 10% cut, cheating us out of another $250. Their only defense was that I "should have written something, somewhere, stating what the limit was." Unfortunately, their forms have no place to set such a limit, and I watched Dave Yungen write the number down, so I naturally assumed he had his stuff together enough to make sure the information got passed along. I tried contacting them after this, but they wouldn't even bother returning my calls and emails. This is a terrible company to deal with. I have to say that I had a great experience with Bar None, particularly Jason. I purchased some deeds a while ago in which I could not locate them at all. I called up to Sacramento and was connected to Jason in which he informed me he would look into it and certainly did. He followed up with me like he said he would and over the course of two weeks or so he resolved my issue and did so very professionally. I will be back if I need anything and anyone looking to go through Bar None ask for Jason he is the man. read more

Then when i call them out on they pull the items on last day instead of bidding on the item. In my opinion, here is my honest experience with Bar-None Auction in Sacramento. Clearly I was a registered bidder online, yet none of my bids were taken into account, message said "they were under the discretion of auctioneer" yep the jibber jabbering auctioneer ignored them! They should be called "Buy-None! So then this means, many Sellers are not receiving all the bids that are taking place, sellers are obviously losing money here! WRNG; Do not sell your stuff with Bar-None, as you will suffer huge losses! Is there a motif? Was this auctioneer making backward deals with their staff or anyone who pays them under the table, thus refusing bids online... Sellers beware, could be a theft ring! Only a special kind of theif steals away both your trust and your goods by racketeering! They have been written up and reported; now under Investigation with the Sacramento DA's Office! Warning to Sellers and Businesses needing cash infusion; do not do business with them, call the DA's Office or BBB first, do your due diligence or you may suffer big losses. All of this experience reported is just my humble honest opinion based from actual experience, major problems there, both buying and selling. Recently I purchased a recreational vehicle online that was in the running section of the auction with no listed issues. Long story short, it had a blown motor (not disclosed) and was very obvious that it was non operational. "Disclaimer" I am aware that I was not onsite to "inspect for myself" as their contract so clearly states, releasing them of any liability for defects or issues. However this wasn't a flat tire or broken strut. I called 5 times and left 5 messages until finally I was put in touch with an owner, Josh Sidel. I explained to him that the vehicle was in no condition to be in the running section of the auction. I went as far as sending another sales employee Jason, a video showing the coolant blowing through the exhaust and the blow by coming out of the oil reservoir. His response was literally a picture of Bar None Auctions no return policy. My conversation with Josh is what compelled me to write this review. I asked him to be ethical about the deal, return the cart and resell at the next auction with the issues listed so it would be a fair deal. Even tried to have him call the seller (who obviously neglected to disclose a blown motor) and have him make a call to deduct 1/2 the repairs or take it back to the auction and disclose motor issues. I was quickly denied. He told me that they do not do returns or list issues and defects on equipment "because they want us to inspect it ourselves". The only solution he offered me was to take the vehicle back to him so he could sell it again. Rip someone else off and make a bunch more money doing it. No thanks Bar None Auctions get 20-30 percent of the total sale on every piece of equipment sold at their auctions , yet they hide behind an agreement that you have to sign in order to bid at the auction. This agreement dismissed them of responsibility or liability to either the seller or the buyer for any reason, and they are very quick to throw that in your face, no matter the circumstance. If you are planning to shop auctions, be very cautious of this one. Make sure you are onsite and inspect to the equipment well cause they won't! This is a $$ over morals business and it's unfortunate. Proof is in the pudding if you just read the reviews. I am done doing business here. read more
