" I decided to do the right thing and give them the tribute they deserve. Graciously accommodating doesn't begin to describe the service we received. Great drink menus are easy to print up. Bar Petite executes and brings those drinks to life. How much food should we order for 4 adults and a 15 month old child. Ask and you shall receive honest guidance from the owner and his wife who are an unobtrusive but constant presence. We ordered the truffle fries which is a must have and enough for the four of us and the a favorite of the baby. Italian flat bread covered with sliced Italian meat goodness. Bacon wrapped apricots with blue cheese take a spoon to the leftover cheese bits on the plate. Sesame crusted tuna salad split for two. Sashimi tuna tacos and an order of Shrimp tacos with shrimp just done perfectly with a little crunch when you bite into one. I had a great time here! As the name suggests, it is very tiny so I would definitely make reservations. I booked a table for four and it was waiting for us when we got there on a Friday night. The menu offers a number of small plates (they aren't THAT small though) and some great cocktails. I tried the fish tacos, the Spanish flatbread and the eggplant crostini. All were excellent - especially the tacos. The flatbreads are huge for the price! My only gripe would be a somewhat limited wine list. Let me tell you why I came here to leave a review. I saw something on Instagram about how this place wrote some snarky comment on their menu about gluten allergies and people got bent of shape about it. I understand that what they wrote may appear insensitive to some, but also funny to others. I don't believe they meant harm by it, and I'm sure they regret it by now. This is a new small business, and I stopped in late one night with my girlfriend on a whim. We sat at the bar and was served by the owner. He COULD NOT have been more friendly. He was excited to serve us and learn about us. It was clear that he was excited to have opened up his first business. And you know what?? The food and drinks were AMAZING! We told him this was the "hidden gem" this town needed. And that's exactly what it is. So to anyone that has doubts... You should go there. Support a good local business, and be forgiving about things that might not really matter in the end, like a cheeky line on a menu. We've all done it. read more

Honestly, I'm embarrassed by how many times I have been here in the past month, but what can I say I'm obsessed. First off, the customer service here is above and beyond. Any time I've been there they have been so attentive, accommodating and friendly. Makes the dining experience even that must more incredible. The happy hour here is probably the best in town in terms of drinks and quality of food. They are not skimping either if you know what I mean. The dirty martini prepared by the bartender Eric was one of the best I've had on Long Island. Four words, blue cheese stuffed olives. We ordered a lot so bear with me. We got truffle fries, the salmon burger, flatbread, bbq pork sliders, bacon-wrapped apricots, and a meat and cheese board to boot. The salmon burger was the perfect ratio of salmon to filler, aka it was mostly salmon and very little filler, and was perfectly offset with a vibrant pesto aioli. The slider was just a classic done right. Tender pulled pork in a tangy BBQ sauce on a squishy bun topped with crunchy coleslaw and served with sweet potato fries. I mean just summer on a plate. The bacon-wrapped apricots are a fresh take on a standard and the combination of sweet, savory, spicy, and creamy make these a must order. For me, I can't come here and not order the truffle fries. They are perfectly fried and served along with two incredible choices for dipping. A lemon aioli and a honey mustard, both homemade and both delicious. I hate to sound like my mom but "if they bottled it up, I would buy it". This place is sooo worth checking out and I could not recommend it enough, counting down the days until we meet again! read more

We were happy across the board. Every drink we ordered was on point. (North Fork Sour, South Fork Sour, Firefly Martini). Every small plate we ordered stood out on its own way--all home runs. Loved the crunchy taco outside on the tuna tartare taco, and all the ingredients mixed in with the tuna were terrific. Truffle fries were perfectly done, and each of the two sauces that came with them was also terrific. The flounder in the fish taco was deliciously tender, and again, the other ingredients included in the taco were terrific. The sauce on the lobster and crab ravioli did not pull its punch--very nicely done. Crab stuffed shrimp also excellent and lemony. Bacon-wrapped, manchego-stuffed apricots were solid. Bartender is the real deal. So many times I see people who don't really know how to shake with a Boston shaker or can't stir without disrupting the ice. I also saw him make a perfect lemon peel garnish--no pith on there at all. Felt like we were in expert hands. The bar itself is nicely decorated, and the space is cozy. Bar petite has been on our list of places to try for a few years now and we finally made an appearance. The service was on point. Each drink we tried was better than the last. As I was sipping my mai tai i couldn't help but feel like I was dining in Manhattan due to the lovely ambience in the restaurant. Each food item was delicious as the small plates concept was perfect. Five stars for sure! Went there last night and was delighted to be so well received by the Owner, John and his lovely wife! And let's not forget Eric behind the bar! These are genuine human beings who clearly have a passion for providing excellent service. The food was delicious; prepared just right and presented beautifully. Two of us ordered the Manchego board, BBQ pork sliders, stuffed shrimp and truffle fries and we were stuffed! My drink was PERFECT! I wasn't really "feeling" a martini and to my happy surprise I found a "Margatini" on the menu; made with fresh lime juice (not mix) and the addition of Blue Caracao that made it look exotic! It looked so Amazing, as a matter of fact, that other people noticed it and ordered the same. If you are a Margarita fan, I HIGHLY recommend the Margatini. This place really is great. I hesitate to write this for fear of giving away my local faves but I went twice (on a date night) before I decided to write a review. I was accommodated with the corner table. We called for a hard-to-get-reservation and the manager/owner(? ) accommodated us with the best seat in the house. It's small and on a quiet part of the village. The food is really delish. The wings, volcano fries, Short rib ravioli, rice balls, and veggie flatbread were all really (really) delish. Kudos to the chef. The bartender makes a mean martini. And the owner/manager on site is just so involved like he cares about his customers and staff. My perfect Local spot! Bar Petite is a small, cool local restaurant/bar. It just outside of Huntington's main street, by a couple of blocks, but a close, easy walk. Great live music in the evenings, great staff and the owners are amazing. The food is a mix of small plates and regular dishes, everything from charcuterie boards to flat breads, seafood dishes, salads and burgers. I was not impressed when I read the menu and saw your comment about "fake gluten allergy " I have someone in my family who has Celiac disease and would get very ill if they ate gluten. I understand that there are those that would say that they have a "gluten allergy" because of a diet they are choosing to follow but for those that would get ill if they ate gluten I wouldn't chose to come here. I'm sure if you chose something that is naturally gluten free but asked about cross contamination you would get an eye roll and probably not a true answer. Well it was my girlfriends birthday and we decided to just grab some cocktails and appetizers and came across this gem located on Stewart off the beaten path which means no douchebags or kids or drunks. Right up our alley. They have a private parking lot in the back which is awesome. Really cute place. Small plates and martini's seem to be their go to. We got a Paradise martini and a Montauk martini and they were ice cold and delish. The bartender is Jimmy and the owner is John. They were both there and super friendly and nice. The food we ordered which might seem like a lot but really wasn't was tuna sashimi tacos in like a fried wonton shell, bacon wrapped apricots, crabcakes and a vegetable flatbread. Things came out one at a time pretty much which was fine with us. The apricots were like little bacon candy love. So good. We really enjoyed everything but never felt too full. THe place got packed so im glad we got their early. They have door that open all the way and it was a perfect night for it. The bathroom is HUGE and super clean too. Truly a disappointment, when we arrived NONE of the staff was wearing masks. We thought about turning around and leaving but we wanted to try the place. Our waitress, while polite, was VERY inattentive. on several occasions we had to work to get her attention. When the food did start coming it appeared to be poorly reheated Costco items. The only positive were the drinks, and the waitress appeared to be most attentive to partons that were drinking heavily. So their business strategy appears to be, get them drunk enough that they won't notice how bad the food is. read more

Came on Friday night with my girlfriend and the place was packed. We were greeted by a very friend bartender who took our order while we waited for a table. After waiting a bit, we were seated cramped between two other tables close enough to eat off of our neighbors plates. I requested another open table with the waitress who responded as if I had offender her with the request. We took our seats and waited patiently for her to come and take our orders, but she continued to back and forth past us attending other tables. She was clearly the only waitress working, so I understand that she's busy, but at a certain point, the least you can do is introduce herself to us. The last straw was when she sat someone directly next to us and proceeded to take their order as if we did not exist. To sum this up, I lost an hour of my time and left unfed.
