While I applaud the flavorful delicious crab cakes, steak, and fresh pasta, m companion finds it lacking in flavor. I noted inconsistent service speed--with some tables experiencing slow pacing--though some staff ( like the one who attended to us) is accommodating. No denying the venue and the grounds are fabulous! The history of the place is even more remarkable! You can go here for the vibes and photo ops alone but it helps that the cocktail menu was inventive and yummy. They created the menu with presentation in mind. So vibrant. In our group of 5, there were no disappointments. I personally had the shrimp/calamari arrabiata pasta and whereas every restaurant says theirs is spicy and it's actually not- well not at OHK! You will feel the tingle. It was a great bite. The crab cake was huge but the side salad that accompanied it was overdressed and too tart. We came here right after the mansion tour. A 10% discount for this place is given by the management for taking the tour. Our hostess was so sweet. We were not rushed in ordering, on completing our meal nor ordering more like dessert. She even packed our leftovers in a cute souvenir take out bag. On a non busy weekday, we were able to grab good seats, with a magnificent view of the garden. The cocktails are on point, tasteful and moderately priced. We go straight to entree as it is almost 1 pm. I picked their famous Oheka burger. My husband ordered pasta on the other hand. We were glad to get an option of gluten free. We started getting this lately , a healthier option. Decadent meal. Loved it.Enjoyed it. We skipped dessert , too full due to a huge serving size of our lunch that we did not even finished. Love the vibes of the place. Classic. Glad to feel and embrace the history behind of this castle. Not sure if this restaurant is an extension only of the mansion or an original part of the property. For the latest happy hour adventure, we hit up OHK for their "Gatsby Hour" the room is cute and has tables as well as bar seating to select from. The servers are hospitable. There is a view of their sprawling lawn and you can also go out on the patio. The prices are still kind of high and portions are small. You're definitely paying for ambiance. The happy hour cocktail choices didn't blow me away. Despite the portions being small the arancini were nice and cheesy and I enjoyed the herbaceous pesto drizzled on top. Gorgeous grounds. Old school castle vibes on the inside, great service. Interior didn't seem well maintained. Seats close to windows were leaking. The vegetable flatbread was delicious- it had eggplant, zucchini and tomatoes and the crust was delicious. The shrimp arrabiata was savory and spicy. Loved how the spaghetti was thin and topped with jumbo shrimp. The sauce in the Chicken cordon bleu was garlicky and creamy. Mashed potatoes were soft and buttery. My aunt has been looking forward to visiting OHK Restaurant in Huntington for years, so we finally made it happen. Naturally, the weather decided to pour the entire day, which meant no exploring the grounds, one of the main things she'd always wanted to see. Still, we made the best of it and settled in for lunch. The atmosphere: Even from indoors, the restaurant has that elegant, historic, "Hidden-Gem Huntington" feel. Cozy, classic, and full of character. And if you love photos, this place is a dream,so many gorgeous backdrops, even with the rain coming down outside. The food: I was happy with my meal,beautifully presented and flavorful. My aunt, on the other hand, wasn't quite as impressed with her entrée, especially after looking forward to this visit for so long. That said, the service was friendly and attentive, and the pacing of the meal was perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Overall, despite the weather putting a damper on the day, OHK still offered a memorable lunch in a charming setting. I have been meaning to leave this review for forever! Anyone that know Oheka knows about its prestigious reputation. I finally got to go around the holidays and the rumors did not disappoint! The decor in and out of the castle are classical and romantic. The food is so delicious with multiple options even for vegetarians. I asked the staff if they could whip me up a vegetarian pasta and they made a huge bowl of pasta just for me. I had leftovers for days! Speaking of the staff, they were the best; super attentive and accommodating. Another New Year's Eve Dinner at OHK, all went well. This year we reserved "The Experience" better known as the "Pre-Fixed Menu", it was fantastic a special menu for a special occasion. The views of this place are absolutely amazing. The waitstaff is kind and accommodating. The interior design is stunning and it's located in a beautiful old castle. However, let's talk about the food. Everything tasted very lackluster. The salmon they cooked beautifully, medium, lacked flavor. The only thing that really had taste was the salsa on top. I have no idea how this place doesn't have a solid 5 stars. We stayed in Okeka and had dinner at the OHK RESTAURANT. I was blown away honestly. First off the building itself as a whole is just opulent. The restaurant was dark, warm and cozy with charming exposed brick and what i think may have been a faux bios (cement made to look like wood) and It was AMAZING - Probably one of the most beautiful little places in my preference to dine in. The bartender Giselle crafted us special cocktails and smoked them to our liking - my husband a classic ohk old fashioned and me a white tequila and mezcal creation that blew me away. The service was friendly and fast - the details were all special. We had the tuscan bread with gorgonzola sauce, the calamari, the clams oreganato and the burrata with strawberries to start. EVERY ONE OF THEM perfection. I especially the tuscan bread and calamari. The entree we chose was the Berkshire pork chop and the new york strip au poivre. I could not believe the cuts of meat brought out. Go ahead and see the photos below, the pork chop was at-least 3-4 inches thick and the steak about 2-3 inches thick. I have seen restaurants charge this amount for a much more inferior cut of meat. THIS was well worth it and f'n fabulous. I wished I had two stomachs. We topped it off with fresh coffee and shared an order of outrageous pertifferoles. outstanding We enjoyed this meal more than any we have had in a few years and the atmosphere was just right for it since we stayed the night. Could the rooms use a style refresher? sure. But the rooms were maintained so well and clean - immaculate even ...and this smashing place to dine is a walk downstairs through a breathtaking castle. I co-sign this place with all my heart, you will not be disappointed for dinner. On a side note, we dined next to Gary Melius the owner of the building and he took the time to come around and say hello, make a little small talk and welcome us. Went to OHK for my birthday and it was such an amazing experience. Not only was the food delicious, but the whole atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. I was able to take some incredible pictures throughout the night. I loved the decorations and the way everything was presented -- it honestly felt like stepping into a different time, almost like the 1800s. We'd originally planned to come here for dinner but they were closed on July 4th when we stayed over, so we settled for lunch the next day. We opted to sit outside on the terrace at a long table along the balcony, which had an air of dining at an Italian villa. I forget our waitress' name but she was impeccable: friendly, attentive, efficient, and provided excellent service with an upbeat attitude. Everybody enjoyed their food: the fried calamari is great (an appetizer I order everywhere it's offered and this was more than acceptable), my burger was very juicy and cooked perfectly medium rare as requested, and the truffle fries are amazing. Everybody enjoyed their respective entrees, and my toddler devoured the Tuscan bread with Gorgonzola fondue. Gary the owner of Oheka stopped by the tables to greet customers, and was very sweet to give my toddler a coloring book of the castle and a package of cookies. I booked dinner here to celebrate my 25th Anniversary. I noted this in the reservation and messaged the restaurant directly as well. I asked for the dinner to be special (nice view, quiet table, etc). We were given seating options when we arrived- none of which were a nice view of anything. Then, when we were seated and had ordered drinks, they sat a family of 6 or 7 people with little kids at the table next to us! The place was largely empty and they could have put them anywhere else. Who knew there was a restaurant inside the castle? The name is an actual nod to the first owner of the castle, Otto H. Kahn. You know this guy! The image of Otto Kahn was used as the inspiration for the character "Mr. Monopoly." Once we valet the car, we're walking up to some decadence. Marble and stone are everywhere. We pass through the bar and into the main dining room overlooking the magnificent grounds. Our waitress comes over and takes our order. We ordered some good starters, a dozen baked clams, mac & cheese as well as grilled Cesar salad. The clams are so on point! Very fresh and cooked perfectly. This dish is highly recommended. The Mac & Cheese entree, I never had Rigatoni before as a pasta choice but the cheese was the star on this dish. Our Waitress read the specials and both my brother in law & I chose the Kansas City Steak with truffle butter. Holey moley, this was truly decadence on a plate. My steak was cooked perfectly with the truffle butter melting from the top made this a birthday I will never forget. The potatoes on the side were also welcomed, this was a truly chef'd up dish.. Been wanting to get here for the longest time. Finally was able to get a reservation. My husband and I went as our Christmas gift experience for one another. This place did not disappoint. Restaurant was smaller than expected but I love the grand entrance when you first walk in, the bar area was really nice too. My husband and I shared one of the pasta dishes as an appetizer. For dinner, I had the sea bass and my husband had the duck. For dessert, I had the brownie sundae and my husband had the chocolate torte. This is a beautiful castle that has a very cool piece of history to it -- the owner of the castle was the face of Mr. Monopoly for the game. The place is nicely taken care of, with valet parking and freshly cut grass. When we went, they were also setting up for a wedding. The ambiance of the place is very nice and well kept. However, the food is just mediocre. There were also a lot of flies flying around, so I just wanted to finish my food as quickly as possible. And yes, the food was awfully poorly done for such a high-class place. We eat in general at Jonathan's Ristorante in Huntington where at least you get bread and olive oil, the drinks are amazing and the food is singularly the best. So if I have to compare and I do, I'd say I'd NEVER, go here again, except that my husband likes the ambiance. We booked a brunch reservation at OHK restaurant primarily for the access to the castle's grounds/gardens. Oheka Castle is absolutely beautiful and literally wedding venue GOALS, but unfortunately the food did not meet the grandeur of the castle itself. Food: 1/5 - We ordered the Chicken Milanese and the Grilled Salmon off their brunch menu. While the panko encrusted chicken was quite thin, it was surprisingly tough to cut through and to chew. The grilled salmon came with sauce on the side, but the sauce didn't taste like anything? The salmon tasted the same with/without the sauce. Service: 4/5 - We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation with the intent to explore their grounds beforehand. The host was very kind and showed us to their gardens. Once we returned, we were quickly seated. Our waitress did forget our drink, but that was fine since we saw that she was busy attending to a larger group. Side experience: - There's free valet parking at the Castle (not tied specifically to the restaurant, so not including a rating), but the valet attendant forgot to give us a ticket and we didn't think to ask. When it was time to pick up our car, we described our car to the attendant, but they ended up pulling up a car that was not ours and in a completely different color. read more

For desserts we got apple tart and chocolate cake. My favorite was the salad. It got amazing flavors and fresh ingredients. My least fave might be the shrimp burrito. It's tasty but just a normal burrito with shrimps instead of the usual protein. I felt like paying $30 for a burrito was a bit outrageous. As I'm looking for this business on Yelp, I spotted the question of gender bathroom. (Other businesses must have it but this is the first time I see the question.) I'm all for equality but what's the POINT of sharing the bathroom? My experience with shared bathroom so far hasn't been positive at places like Met Museum, etc.: bit scary to see masculine men in the little space. Wha't more, is they usually don't flush.   So, to answer the question, I think it is No as of now. I'll def return, given the fact that bathrooms remain separate. The venue is great, except the valet courtyard parking - do they really need the space and the service? The parking lot is just two steps away, and pretty empty. We sat outside, looking out to the cars and greens beyond. It's 88 degrees day but was comfortable. The service of the restaurant is really good, so is the food. We've Burrata and quinoa salads. For drink, we've Brooklyn draft and Clos du Bois Chardonnay - all are delicious, especially the burrata. It is an event venue, with a hotel (on the second and third floor) and many rooms for occasions. read more

I've been to this place twice and it was the most romantic place I'ved ever been especially here in new york. This place can be your wedding venue or you can propose to your partners here. Go and check it out yourself. First time I went was with my family and we love everything. From the food, the vibe, the service and their nice garden on the back of this castle. Charge your phone and take lots of pictures! The second time I went was with my friends. I had the lobster roll with fries for $30 side with fries. It was huge and so good! We have mussels and clams and shrimp tempura for appetizer. Their serving portion here is great because it will surely make you full. Price wise is decent, average price $15 to $50 depending on what you order. They also offer cocktails and wine. Overall I highly recommend this place. More easier to do reservation through opentable. I wish I could give more stars to OHK. The grounds are beautiful, and the restaurant interior is a nice escape into old world surroundings - exposed stone walls, lots of wood paneling. Very elegant, and I'd love to explore the grounds more. Unfortunately, though, the food itself was underwhelming, especially since they charge fine dining prices. The appetizers were so ordinary. Mac and cheese was something I could have made with minimal effort, and the bread basket came with...fondue? Weird combination, and again, the cheese was so lackluster. For entrees, the risotto tasted undercooked in some bites, given how I started crunching into it at points. The chicken dish was probably the most well prepared of everything we ordered, but again, not anything particularly special. And then finally, the duck. I can not in good conscience recommend this dish to anyone. The duck itself was fine, and cooked to the right temperature, to their credit. But everything else about the dish, from the flavorless sauce that distracted from the meat, to the undercooked, strange choice of carved squash (?) sitting under the duck, still hard as a rock for most bites...yikes. All in all, not the best culinary experience. But maybe it's worth a visit for the grounds and the bar. read more

I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday here with my family. We made a reservation for Sunday brunch and were seated right away. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and you're able to walk around and take pictures as you please (with your phone, professional cameras require a payment/reservation). They have someone who stops you before driving on the property and you have to let them know you have a reservation & then it's mandatory (free) valet for parking. To my surprise, the food we had was absolutely delicious. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meals - from the steak to the pasta to the panini. To top it all off the owner of the property stopped by our table to have a little chit chat and gave us a discount. Actually, it was more than that, because it was 12:15 when I finally spoke up to management about the long wait. I get that there was a kitchen back up but we were one of the first tables there! And we got eggs Benedict and a veggie omelet - nothing that should have taken an hour. Of course, the food came cold. Overall a very disappointing meal, and even warm, I don't think the eggs Benedict would have been anything to write home about. And then after all that, it was a $54 meal for something that would have been better for $10 at a diner. Honestly they should have comped something for the service being so bad but oh well. What a beautiful place! The decor, atmosphere and service were amazing! We came here for our anniversary and it met all my expectations. Valet came to take our car and we walked in and were seated. The table was decorated with rose petals and a happy anniversary sign. The drinks were unique and just right. We ordered calamari for appetizers and they were crisp and fresh. For entrees we ordered the crab cake, filet mignon and garlic mashed potatoes. The crab cake was flavorful, the garlic mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection. The filet mignon was a perfect medium well, so soft, flavorful and juicy. The manager came to greet us and introduced himself and made sure everything was great. For dessert we both had the affogato. Oheka Castle is an old gem, tucked into a Gold Coast residential neighborhood along the North Shore of Long Island, just beyond Woodbury in Huntington. From the second floor, through the main dining room's windowed doors, there's a concrete deck large enough for hundreds of guests with a view of a golf course in the foreground and the Long Island Sound in the distance. We were free to walk around the hallways, where we found several museum quality paintings, sculptures, and really old furniture. In three dining rooms, and even in a hallway, there were musicians playing both modern and ancient instruments (like a 14-string lute). No tours today, Mother's Day. They have elevators or ballroom style stairways. Even the men's room had a sculpture in it and, in the hall just outside it, was a great sketch of Napoleon at Fontainebleau. OHK Bar & Restaurant is one of the treasures of Oheka Castle. We had a window table in the dining room beyond the bar with a view of vast lined up trees on grass. The Mother's Day menu (photo included) didn't tell you the price of our three-course meal, but it was $100 per person plus tax and an added on 20% tip. There was no apparent enforcement of dress code, and the sartorial range went from ladies dressed-to-kill (decked out in all their jewels), to smart casual, and down to the guy in a tee shirt with his toddler. Our waitress (Karina) and server were both dignified, gracious and friendly ladies. I started with a Caesar salad with fresh sliced parmigiana cheese and light dressing, had the top quality fillet mignon prepared just the way I like it, and ended with coffee and crème brûlée. While that's a heavier lunch than I normally have, I forgave myself and luxuriated in the royal treatment. My wife, and a proud mother, thoroughly enjoyed the salmon. While OHK is clearly over budget (for us), it's a Mother's Day to remember and cherish. read more

We had been to Oheka Castle quite a few years ago to take the tour, but had never had lunch here. Oheka is an amazing place. it was the home of a financier and philanthropist, and It is the second largest private residence in the USA. it was built in the early 1900s as a country home, then later was used as an army barracks and a military academy,, before it fell into total disrepair. It has been wonderfully restored, and now has a hotel, this wonderful restaurant, and is used for weddings, special events, and also as a filming location for many different projects. Part of the property is still a private residence as well. We came the day before Thanksgiving for a nice lunch. We did have to make reservations ahead of time. They are doing a fantastic job of spacing everyone apart. The cleanliness is also top of the mark. We were seated right away, and throughout the meal, the service was beyond top notch. Before we even ordered, they brought us bread with a cheese sauce for dipping. The bread was perfectly baked, and the cheese sauce was amazing. So very rich. We were wiping our plates clean. For the appetizer, we split the Mediterranean plate. Tzatziki, Hummus, whole olives and a Tapenade, and Feta, with a ring of Pita wedges all around. The hummus had an amazing flavor without being spicy, The tzatziki had a nice "tang" to it, I also loved the flavor of the tapenade. The feta was awesome, also. Next up was the seafood penne. Lobster, Shrimp, and Calamari, in a rich Tomato Broth. The penne was perfectly al-dente, it had lots of seafood, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. After all this, somehow we still had room for dessert. We had the Profiteroles. (Bavarian Cream Puffs). The pastry was so very flaky, and the filling was so creamy, and not overly sweet. The check for the lunch and non-alcoholic beverages came out to about $170 after a nice tip. Good ambiance and service. Cocktails were excellent. Had the Fallen Smoke (mezcal/passion fruit/aperol) which was delicious and not too fruity. Also had the smoky OHK old fashioned which was great too. Food was mixed. Chicken was a bit dry and needed some flavor. Papardelle needed some flavor/spice. Branzino was very good. Lamb chops were probably the best of the meals we had. Came on a Wednesday night for a birthday (party of 4) and there were only 2 other couples in the entire restaurant the whole time. Overall a good experience but the price point was a bit high. Probably more worth it for brunch to take advantage of the garden views and to get a tour. Also, while not expected, was a bit surprised they didn't do anything special in terms of a birthday dessert. Feel like that's standard for most restaurants these days. read more
