We wanted to book a birthday dinner for 14. At first we agreed on 2 locations that would be tight for 14 but good for our party and booked the reservation. When we called to confirm which location, the story had changed. Now they could not guarantee any particular area unless we agreed to a $1,200 minimum spend before tax and tip. Based on the menu prices, we would probably be at half that amount. I would have no problem with a minimum per person ($40?) and would pay for any cancellations. We are not cheap, but that minimum for 14 is unreasonable. We are locals, and there are 600+ restaurants in Naples. Plenty of other choices! read more

I'm visiting Naples for a few weeks. I happened on the Tulia location on 5th Ave early on. It was top notch. Great bartender, great food, great vibe. Would definitely go again. Since I liked it so much I decided to try the one at the Mercato. Unfortunately it did not live up to my first experience. The aestetic is nice, and in fact everytime I would go by on other visits to the Mercato the bar was packed, so I was excited to find a spot this evening. First, the bartenders were not what I would consider professionals. I ordered a Boulevardier, one of my standards. Most places make it with too much campari, so I've gotten used to telling the bartenders to dial back on the campari so I can actually taste the boubon, which is what I did here. I also notice that bartenders here in Naples don't ask for a bourbon preference. Back in NY, where I live, they always ask. Maybe a Naples thing? Anyway, I had to keep the bartender from running away so I could tell him my bourbon preference. I get the drink a min later, and TOO MUCH CAMPARI! It was undrinkable. Ok, not necessarily a showstopper, anyone can make a mistake, especially if it's not a drink they make very often. I'll just wait until he asks me how I like my drink, a given since I was so specific about what I wanted, right? Nope. Never asked. I was there for 30 min, the drink just sat there and neither one of the bartenders bothered to find out if something was wrong, or even if I was enjoying the drink. This is what I mean about them not being professional. A good bartender is very tuned to everything happening at his or her bar, and sweats the details. Not here. I also ordered a couple food dishes and they were ok. The Misto salad I had on 5th Ave was truly exceptional. I ordered the same thing at the Mercato location and it was just average. Bottom line, if you want Tulia, make the trip to 5th Ave. The Mercato location is nothing special. read more

It was good good environment a little loud but busy. We started with the meatballs good flavor but they were overcooked and dry even with the sauce. I was going to order the short rib but the bartender told me it was very fatty so I passed and ordered the chicken parm instead. I am glad I did because it was really good tender chicken lots of cheese and the marinara had good flavor. My wife got the cavatappi which was pasta, pesto, and shrimp. The portion was kind of small but my wife liked the flavors I wasn't a fan. Overall it was a good experience. We would eat here again if in the area. read more

Bar tulia is a very cozy relaxed style restaurant. It's very family friendly oriented and perfect if you're in the mood for pizza, pasta, or salad. The service is fast. There are stores all around it and kilwins ice cream as well. The location is very convient. read more

Dining at Tulia's outdoor patio is always such a treat--it truly feels like a little escape to Europe right in the heart of Mercato! I'm obsessed with their charcuterie board; it's my favorite way to start the meal, and it never disappoints. We celebrated Mother's Day there and went all out--our table had the halibut, ribeye, salmon, one of the pizzas, and a special of the day. Every dish was absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, and the presentation was beautiful. Tulia has such a warm, inviting vibe, and the service is always top-notch. I had looked forward to trying Bar Tulia, especailly since I love italian food. A group of us went for lunch. The restaurant was almost empty, but the music was so loud, that we could barely hear each other and were told that it could not be turned down. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but I will never go there again. The Bucatini pasta I ordered was $25 and just a big glob of pasty fat and absolutely no taste. I had a few bites, took the rest home and then threw it out. Sad. read more

We came here on a whim one evening at 6 pm and we were able to get a table right away. We had gin and tonic and an umbrella drink; both were good. For food, I had a beet salad and the mussels. A great appetizer. Our entrees were the "My Michelle" pizza. My Michelle Pepperoni, Shishito, Ricotta, Fire Onion & Local Honey. Addictive! A tad spicy which was not an issue and heard a fave with customers, and I agree. Very flavorful and enjoyed it immensely. Even the crust on both sides. Grilled to perfection. (ate the whole thing) My wife's entree. Took half home. Two large pieces of white meat chicken atop polenta etc. as noted. A good dish. Roasted Half Chicken Polenta, Roasted Grapes, Fennel, Pistachio & Chicken au Jus. We skipped dessert. Another time. But that was now my lunch and mostly dinner. Want to try everything I see here. I had the branzino and my husband had the watermelon salad. My branzino was so good, the skin was nice and crispy, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. My whole dish was well seasoned! My husbands watermelon salad was so fresh, he also added chicken which was so good too. We came today randomly and we were greeted so nicely by the blonde hostess and then decided to sit at the bar and met the bartender David from Venezuela. He was such a pleasure!! It's so rare to find great people in the hospitality these days and even though we didn't grab a bite and only a glass of wine to catch up, we are so happy we had David's energy and enthusiasm for what he does. If you value your ability to hear skip Bar Tulia during their "Boozy Brunch" hours. Regardless of where you are seated, inside, upstairs, outside the volume of the music is more appropriate for a night club than a restaurant during daytime hours. I politely asked the manager to turn down the volume and my request was denied. Our food was OK but we ate and left as quickly as possible and will not be returning. My pasta w/clams was not served hot and my companions fried chicken sandwich was dry and needed aioli which the server was happy to bring. All in all a disappointing experience. read more

Dined here on a Wednesday evening. Parking is tough in season, recommend the valet nearby. The hostess was gracious and found us a table outside. I noticed a lot of dogs dining with their owners. Beautiful night and there was live music at the Mercato. Chris was our server and he was great - the zucchini blossoms are highly recommended - and tried the Brussels sprouts- so good! We ended up sending back the pork schnitzel as it was dry, and the manager handled it appropriately. The dorade fish was excellent . Oh and I can't forget the very dirty martini, made just right. I've been here a few times, mainly for happy hour. The food is good but the service is lousy! I go to the bar area to get the happy hour menu but the last 2 times I had to sit there for 10 minutes before a server showed up. On one occasion I had to flag down a worker to ask if they could send a server to my table as it was close to happy hour deadline. It's as if they don't want you to take advantage of it. The last time, my server didn't bring me any bread after ordering a glass of wine and the tagliatelle pasta which is very good. It's a red sauce and this is an Italian restaurant. How can you not serve bread! Try that in Italy and you'll be shot! The server should have been glad that they were just dinged on the tip (for that and making me wait for 10 minutes). Looking around the restaurant I notice that it's a young staff all the way around and they are not too attentive. read more

Went here tonight w the family. Our server Paige was amazing. Super helpful and made great wine suggestions for us. We were seated outside and unfortunately in between our apps and entrees it began to rain very hard. Both Paige and management worked as quickly as possible to get us reseated indoors so that we could enjoy entrees. They even comped some things due to the inconvenience (which wasn't caused by them). Had lunch at Bar Tulia for the first time, and was excited to try it based on my experience at the sister restaurant on Fifth Ave. The outdoor seating area is quite large and atmospheric. Being in the Mercado shopping center there is not a lot of road noise making for a pleasant environment. We showed up on a weekday around noon at had no problem getting a table. We shared the Garden and the Goat Pizza, which was vegetarian with goat cheese (no tomato sauce), and the beet salad. The pizza had a nice crispy thin crust and was big enough for 2 people to share along with the salad. It was a bit salty though, so overall I'd give the pizza 3 stars despite the great crust. The beet salad was very good with lots of red beets. The toppings included breaded and fried avocado which took me a while to identify, and the flavor and texture was a bit strange. I would have rather had plain avocado. Our server was very sweet and gave us just the right amount of attention without being overbearing. I'd give Bar Tulia at Mercado another try, but so far prefer their 5th Avenue location. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a week day in season so there was really no wait time. Food was great , the capanada they give you with bread is so good I asked for more. We ordered & shared an app and a pizza and both were great. The pizza we ordered was the Parma with prosciutto, mushrooms, mozz topped with arugula. The app we had was a play on the Big Mac but was called Pig Mac (pork belly with chopped opinions and a "special" sauce. It was good but the meat was a bit dry for my liking. The overall vibe of the restaurant was nice and comfortable. There is seating outside as well. Their craft cocktail list was impressive ($16 ea/ at the time of this review). Is that what passes for normal now? Imagine if an innocent child walks in there and sees that. Not to mention the problems that such images cause on adults brains and actual bodily functioning. That's awful; it shows me just how low people will go for the almighty dollar. Otherwise, if they took all that stuff down I'd give it a 4.5/5. As an individual that has worked in the restaurant industry for years it's obvious they've put together an immaculate experience for the South West Florida community and visitors!
