Decent meetup spot for cocktails. It's a Dive bar that is centrally located and you never know what to expect. Bring your vibe and all will go well. Staff was quick to get the cocktails turned for us and they were reasonably priced. After a good 45-hour, everyone who showed up was for sure gonna "show out".

Went here for a drink before going to Franklin Avenue for dinner and the ambience was amazing. Speakeasy, moody, grunge vibe but in a proper way. A small cozy place for a drink with a friend and not too rowdy. The bartenders were kind and gave us some surprise drinks. Will be coming back!!

Negroni with a twist, absolutely stunning atmosphere! A staff that's more knowledgeable than most. What a fresh breath of air to come to a craft cocktail bar that knows how to not only make a drink but execute them with the must upmost execution. Anyone who gets a beverage here is lucky to truly experience the highest level of craft cocktails in town! Thank you to the whole staff!

Great cocktails, chill, moody space. While visiting friends in Salt Lake, my husband and I came here with another couple to get some good cocktails - and that's exactly what we got! We got here around 7:00 PM on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. People really started coming in around 8:30, but I'm glad we got there earlier to get a corner seat with a good view of the space. With the dim lights, it has a moody vibe which was cool to see in SLC. Each cocktail was like a work of art. I ordered the Fate of Flowers first - this gin drink was beautiful made and so delicious. For my second cocktail, I got the You're Late - I'm a sucker for a cocktail w/ espresso flavors, so this was right up my alley. Overall, great spot - I'd come back for the cocktails whenever we're in Salt Lake again!

I was so glad to be back at one of my favorite bars in SLC. Things haven't changed much other than masks being required unless actively drinking and there are socially distanced tables that are first come first serve. We grabbed one quickly after a group left and a staff member came by to clear their glasses right away. You order your drinks at the bar where the cocktail menu is always changing to keep things fresh and exciting. I went with the Desert Bouquet and loved the combination of reposado tequila and st germaine. I also tried some of the Broadmore and enjoyed the orange bitters in that drink. If you'd like to order food at Beer Bar right next door, simply walk through the red curtain and you'll find yourself right inside. Their fries are my favorite and if you bring your order number back to your table inside Bar X, your food will find its way to you.

Great vibes. One of the servers had a mustache. Bathroom is a lesbian fantasy. Drinks are well priced. Bar tenders are friendly. I wish the house cocktail menu was larger.

Nothing super special about this bar- the drinks were good but not great. I liked the glass the cantarito came in. The suburban dog was a little too heavy on the aperol and bitter.

Counter service, good beer selection and helpful, friendly staff. Sports bar vibe, lots of community seating. Fries were burnt and greasy.

Does this bar carry local spirits by Holystone Distilling?

Somebody know if that place it's good for dance?

Not a good place to dance.

Do they serve food or just bar type appetizers?

Bar X itself does not have food to offer, but they are connected to beer bar which has bratwursts and fries. You can purchase them on the beer bar side and eat wherever I'm pretty sure.

So it's a dry town ?? No beer no rot gut whiskey?…

The town isn't completely dry, just highly regulated. All draft beers, no matter what brand/style will be 3.2% abv, so order bottled beer. All mixed drinks can have no more than 1.5 oz of actual liquor in them and you can only have one drink in…

There's a couple of pool tables. The bathrooms are a little "shocking." I was looking for the women's restroom and when the lights automatically turned on, I saw lots of 70s models posing nude. So this is what regular bodies look like before the surgery era! The men's restroom was more classy with people smoking cigars.

But I wanted a drink and was willing to take the risk, and I'm glad I did, because it was nothing like I imagined. Bartender was friendly and helpful. There was a decent amount of people watching the soccer game on tv, we were all cheering for Colombia, but then they lost, so most of them cleared out. Vibe kinda died after that. But nonetheless I had a great time, and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere. Plus 6$ mules and .50 cent pool is hard to beat. I guess they serve food but I don't know how good it is. Only downside is that's there's just one toilet, luckily I didn't have to wait to use it while I was there.

The calamari was good, but not great. Kind of flavorless. The bbq plate was way too salty and really didn't come with much. Our server was very friendly but could have been a bit more attentive. Upon arrival, the hostess seemed to be turning someone away even though there were many open tables. After the couple left, the hostess then had some unpleasant words to her colleague. The performers are absolutely incredible and clearly put so much time, energy, and heart into what they do. The bartenders have also consistently been awesome, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experiences with the door person have become increasingly troubling. On multiple separate occasions, I've noticed a very clear difference in the way he treats me and my more visibly gay, queer, and trans friends compared with straight friends who are standing literally right beside us. The interactions have felt noticeably less welcoming and, at times, openly disrespectful toward queer people. I understand being a door person requires some directness and boundaries, but that should not mean kindness and compassion are thrown out the window. For a bar that serves as an important space for the LGBTQ+ community, this is really disappointing. There aren't many queer-friendly places in this city, and it's frustrating to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome as soon as you enter the building because of the person responsible for greeting people at the door. I really hope management considers providing additional training around LGBTQ+ etiquette, inclusivity, and respectful treatment of guests. I'd also love to see more queer people represented among the staff, particularly at the door, or at minimum see a meaningful change in the way this particular employee interacts with queer patrons. After multiple separate negative experiences, I honestly have been contemplating not returning, which is unfortunate because I genuinely love the performers and have otherwise enjoyed this venue. I'm going to give it one more chance in the future, because I want to support the performers and the queer community here, but I hope things change. If you're queer and you have a bad interaction with an older white man with scraggly facial hair at the door, please know that you're not imagining it or necessarily doing something wrong. My experiences suggest that there is a real issue with the way some queer patrons are being treated.
