Trivia: What is the name for an establishment designed for the sale of beer and other drink, and sometimes food? Small outdoor seating area, just three tables and about 8 or 9 chairs. Enormous beer selection. Take some time to review their list and look at their rotating tap list and specials for updates. Don't see a beer style you'd like? Just ask. The bartenders have great recommendations and sometimes there even beers they've gotten that aren't in the list. No food. I should have asked if it's okay to bring your own. Usually that's cool. Love this place! Not only does this pub offer a great beer list, they have a very unique feature! If you sit at the bar, they have a frosted counter. Meaning, the counter is cold and will keep your beer cold! Never seen that before. I would give this place 5 stars but there isn't food unfortunately. Really unique bar. Wish it had more TVs or newer TVs. Not the best place to watch sports but at least it is something. This is an old old bar located on Main Street downtown Salt Lake City. it's got a great vibe, with a long, long bar area and 100s of different beers for you to choose from. They also sell liquor and food. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The place is very big with pool tables and a game room, etc. We just came in here for a drink. it was a nice experience and we got to meet some of the people who drink alcohol in Salt Lake City!! read more

I stopped in here about two months ago for a pre-dinner drink and hang. I was slightly disappointed that their downstairs area was not open-that was one of the main things that drew me to this place - their pool tables. The building is historic and from the 1800's. Sooooo - here's the deal. We didn't actually stop in for food or drink. BUT! We were in town over fall break and saw a show across the street (like, directly across!) at Eccles. When we came out, it was late and I was thirsty. My husband went across to ask for bottled water or to know where to grab some. They said we wouldn't find a ton open (probably not wrong in UT!) and they didn't have bottles. So, they gave my husband a glass of water and said we didn't need to return it!!! This was my first bar I went to in my very first visit to Utah! It's been over 8 years since I steeped foot back in here so I figured I'd check it out and watch the football game. There's food here too, but we already had lunch. If you get a chance to sit at the bar (socially distancing), you can set your beer on ice! There's a ton of beers to check out, and I discovered Kiitos coffee cream ale! I know there's a local brewery that sells this, and now I need it! The dogfish IPA was a bit strong for me. Limited seating and TVs so not the best place to watch sports, but it's great to still feel safe and go to a bar with friends. This is such a fun pub located right on main street. It reminds me of the pubs back in London and just makes you feel right at home. - The decor - This place is done up right with the right mixture of old an school UK pub vibe mixed with local decor that makes it very lovely. It has pool downstairs as well which is a nice bonus. It also has an ice strip on the bar to help keep your drink cold. Such a cool addition that gives this place a lot is character. Also, in the summer there is a lovely little outdoor seating out front. - Service - The service here is hard to beat and the bartenders are all so lovely to chat with. Every time I meet a new bartender and I pleasantly surprised that they are all very good at what they do and very nice to chat to. They make nice and strong drinks as well that has me coming back. - Drinks/food - The drinks here are wonderful for both the price and the quality. The have every beer you could ask for and they are able to make any drink you ask for and make it very well. I've never actually had any food here so I cannot speak to that. Beerhive is our go to because they have a huge beer selection. They sell all kinds of hard to find beers that are difficult to acquire in Utah. We have enjoyed their little outdoor patio when we wanted to get some fresh air. Sadly they no longer offer food which apparently was supplied by the restaurant next door. Our server told us that the situation was no longer amenable to the restaurant and they didn't want to keep supplying food. It's sad because the food was good and it was great to be have great beer with good food. Oh well. Now you'll have to come for the beer only! read more

Street parking is available here, The place is very spacious and the staff is amazingly friendly. The Place impressed me cause they have Lambic beer and that is the only kind of beer I drink. to these places are rare. They check ID, make sure you have your ID if you are planing on drinking. Our waiter was hilarious, kept forgetting our orders lol but in a funny way we had a lot of fun with his goofiness. No wifi, what place in this day and age does not have a wifi!!!! MOZZARELLA SANDWICH- came with fries and all, the sandwich was pretty nice, not the best I ever had but none the less pretty good to eat. Landed in Salt Lake City with a few hours to kill, randomly picked this spot off of Yelp and it did not disappoint! This was Thursday March 18th around 3:30 PM a group of 6 of us. We had an awesome bartender seat us right away at a booth in the back. They had a very large beer list, many of my friends opted for that I stuck to my gin. Lol The food menu had a variety of options different types of burgers, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, apps we all had plenty to choose from. He also made us aware there was a $11 burger special where you could pick any burger! Also get a side of fries or salad. Between all of us we got to try a bit of everything and none of us was disappointed. After discovering the pool tables downstairs we moved down there for a few games before our friends finally landed joined us for a drink on the patio outside on the side walk and we were out! Overall I highly recommend, had a great vibe before we left(was getting busy), amazing service, good food. read more

This could be a challenge when you're standing two blocks from the world headquarters of the Church of the Latter Day Saints, i.e., Mormons, but it is not a hard challenge to meet. Beerhive to the rescue. This lovely watering hole has a number of televisions and a very long bar and the very interesting feature is a long cooling tray. Yes, your beer doesn't have to sit on a room temperature cork beermat when this ice cold line exists. It's pretty awesome. Im kinda torn on how many stars to give this place. Its a cute bar that a lot of locals go to. Tv are well located (but very small) Service for the most part is good our main waitress was very attentive and friendly. One other waitress checked on us, asked us if we needed anything I requested another beverage and it never came. We ordered chicken quesadilla that was very pathetic (see picture) I get the sense that its a good bar to meet up with friends and have some drinks as they do offer an extensive beer options. But I wouldnt suggest eating there as there was also a roach crawling on the wall. Waitress did not charge us for the food. read more

Good beer recommendation of The Golden Ale by Katie (we're typically BudLight drinkers and it was perfect for us). Nice patrons sitting by us as well. The bar is huge! We were attending an event at the Eccles theater and inadvertently arrived way too early. We had seen the Beerhive across the street on a previous visit, and thought it might be a good place to while away an hour. Being a Friday night, the place was busy but we managed to find the last remaining table. The pub had a great vibe that made us glad we stopped in. Service was attentive and prompt despite the ever-increasing crush of patrons, and after choosing our beer from an extensive list we quickly had our drinks ~ and the snacks we ordered too. Decor was fun and pub-y, noise level not too high, prices quite good. By the time we left at 7:00 pm the entrance was packed with people waiting for a table, so word to the wise: arrive early, or be prepared to wait. It's a very popular venue. read more

Love dropping by this local spot when I'm in Salt Lake City. The manager...may even be the owner...is consistently there and you can tell he actually cares. Cant beat the beer selection and the iced bar strip is something I've never seen anywhere else. Slight downside is the restroom is downstairs which can be a bit tough to maneuver in heels. Great centralized location right in the heart of downtown makes it easy to make your way somewhere else after.
