Decent basic pub vibe with friendly service and a good local beer selection. No food, some packaged snacks and sandwiches. Okay to bring food in. $7 drafts, $3 drafts on Mondays!

Fruity sour beer staying cold in the specialized refrigerated shelf that's runs around the entire Bar! This is amazing!

Superb service from a hot bartender... the fruity sour beers were my favorite! So many to choose from

This was a cute pub! We wanted to have another beverage after brunch on a cold rainy Sunday and had spotted this place while we were walking. Great selection of beer available. Ton of bar seating with table seating as well. Fun, casual vibe and the bartender was really nice.

This place was amazing. The bartenders were super friendly and amazing at their job. There are lots of draft options for beers. All were great! Pool tables were fun. Good place with friendly staff. Would recommend would come back.

This would be my regular bar if I lived in SLC. Lots of selection, service was on point, love the classic dive bar vibe.

I stopped in here about two months ago for a pre-dinner drink and hang. I was slightly disappointed that their downstairs area was not open-that was one of the main things that drew me to this place - their pool tables. The building is historic and from the 1800's. If you love seeing old stonework and enjoy a good bar with a huge selection of beers, you have to stop by. Their glasses are also very cool and I ended up buying one.

Sooooo - here's the deal. We didn't actually stop in for food or drink. BUT! We were in town over fall break and saw a show across the street (like, directly across!) at Eccles. When we came out, it was late and I was thirsty. My husband went across to ask for bottled water or to know where to grab some. They said we wouldn't find a ton open (probably not wrong in UT!) and they didn't have bottles. So, they gave my husband a glass of water and said we didn't need to return it!!! Seriously so stinking kind we can't wait to be back in town so we can for realsies support local! Thanks, Beerhive!!!

This bar is pretty decent on the inside. Spacious and has a large downstairs area with pool tables. They have lots of beer choices. Probably over 50 on the menu. The prices aren't terrible. Their service is fine not too much to brag on and it wasn't too busy during an Saturday afternoon.

This was my first bar I went to in my very first visit to Utah! It's been over 8 years since I steeped foot back in here so I figured I'd check it out and watch the football game. There's food here too, but we already had lunch. If you get a chance to sit at the bar (socially distancing), you can set your beer on ice! There's a ton of beers to check out, and I discovered Kiitos coffee cream ale! I know there's a local brewery that sells this, and now I need it! The dogfish IPA was a bit strong for me. Limited seating and TVs so not the best place to watch sports, but it's great to still feel safe and go to a bar with friends. Staff wears masks and there's hand sanitizer when you walk in.

The ice bar is really lovely at this place. What a fun vibe this place has. Reminds of London pubs.

I want to come work here! The food was really good, and really expensive! Our bill was $145 for the two of us. Our server Jaxson was really knowledgeable on the menu, and really friendly. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house as all the burlesque dancers move around the space. Be prepared with some ones to tip them, but they also take Venmo. I'd love to come back!

Sad to say, I'm not quite sure what all the hype is about…read more We had to sit outside because the indoor dining room was fully booked for the show. The night actually started off great. Our server was funny, personable, and attentive, especially when it came to drinks and refills. Things started going downhill when I received my entree, the Poor Man's Truffle. Unfortunately, the only way this dish lived up to its name was in how little the supposedly high-quality ingredients seemed to come through. The dish itself is fairly simple, which normally isn't a bad thing when the ingredients are meant to speak for themselves. With Belper Knolle, truffle oil, pistachio pesto, tomato, fennel, and arugula, I expected something flavorful and well balanced. Instead, the entire dish tasted incredibly mild. Belper Knolle is typically a bold, salty, peppery cheese, and I could visibly see the black pepper around the edges of the thin shavings, but the flavor barely registered. I also couldn't taste the truffle oil at all. There was visible oil pooling at the bottom of the plate, but no noticeable truffle flavor. I understand pistachio pesto tends to be more subtle than a traditional basil pesto, but altogether, this dish just fell completely flat for me. The presentation didn't help either. It looked more like something that had been scooped from a pan and dropped onto the plate than a thoughtfully plated entree. When a dish misses both on flavor and presentation, that's when it becomes a real disappointment for me. I will say the gnocchi itself was cooked well, which was one of the few positives. I also tried the burger, and it was significantly better than my pasta. However, the very small sprinkle of bacon was a little baffling considering it was an additional upcharge. Where the night really went downhill was at the end of the meal. I had been excited to try the beignets because that isn't a dessert I see on menus very often. Our entree plates were cleared, and then we waited about 20 minutes before our server returned and asked whether we were ready for the check. Dessert wasn't mentioned, and by that point our table was tired of waiting, so we decided to skip it and asked for our checks. Then our server disappeared for another 30 minutes. We eventually had to flag down a hostess who was seating another table and let her know that we were still waiting for the check. About five minutes later, our server finally returned and casually explained how "crazy" the night had gotten because of the show. I understand restaurants get busy, but the apology felt very dismissive after we had waited nearly an hour from finishing our entrees to finally receiving the check. It genuinely felt like our table had simply been forgotten. I also want to add that I tend to hold restaurants like this to a higher standard. I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for." If I'm eating at a fast-food spot or somewhere inexpensive and casual, there's only so much room to complain. But when a restaurant has prices like this, highlights premium ingredients on the menu, and presents itself as a more elevated dining experience, I think that naturally opens the food and service up to more criticism. At that price point, I expect the quality, presentation, and overall experience to reflect what I'm paying for. My final takeaway is that maybe I ordered the wrong dish. Pesto is one of my favorite things, so I almost always want to give a pesto-based dish a try. Unfortunately, Prohibition's pesto gnocchi was not it for me. I also saw that they describe themselves as a scratch kitchen using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, which I don't necessarily doubt. What confused me was how so many ingredients that should have distinct flavors somehow tasted like almost nothing. If your goal is interesting drinks and a fun show, this is probably still a place worth considering. Since we sat outside, I can't speak on the show part, but it seems to be a big hit. Food-wise, though, it missed the mark for me.

We visited at least two, during our four days in SLC. This one was the first: a cathedral-style brewpub with a sports bar aesthetic, with decent food, decent drinks, decent service, and decent prices. Everything was decent. You're not likely to be disappointed by anything you order, but you're not likely to be blown away by anything, either (another thing Squatters has in common with McMenamins, I'd say). During our second visit (to another location, but I'm sure the same rule applies), our party was only interested in ordering drinks (one per person, mind you), but we were informed that we *had* to order some sort of food to accompany them (I'm sure this is more of a Utah thing, rather than a Squatter's thing, but still annoying), so bear that in mind if you're looking for a place to just chill with a beverage and watch a game. Still, the vibe here is lively and friendly; assuming your server is as well, which was a coin flip, in our experience. For a fast, casual chain of brewpubs, Squatters has a lot going for it, and I can see why they are popular, as clearly as I can see ways in which they can improve. A little more focus, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, and Squatters could absolutely dominate in SLC, and beyond.
