Did you know that they have a true film photo booth? That is so rare to find! My boyfriend and I made the hour long trek specifically to come here for my birthday and it did not disappoint. The booth is right off the bar, next to the entrance/window facing the street. Inside the machine you can pay with card ($7), then crowd into the booth. Last Thursday when I made my way down for my Thursday night visit, I was not allowed in because I supposedly make people uncomfortable. This is ridiculous. All I do it sit quietly at the end of the bar nearest the door, say please and thank you for drinks, pay my tab, leave a nice tip and leave. I guess minding your own business and not causing problems is their version of making people feel uncomfortable. It seems that their self-proclaimed "welcoming and safe place for all" bullshit is just that, bullshit. I have been made to feel uncomfortable by some of the clientele, but I didn't throw a fit over it. This included whoever wrote on the bathroom wall "Kill Trump". Really? It's too bad as I had not been going there for long at all and I was getting to like the new digs - it used to be called Wasted Space - and I was getting to know the staff. Allie was always nice to me. So were the other bar tenders and the blonde gal who checked ID's. I am terrible with names. Yes, I am older than who usually hangs out in there, but you know, "welcoming". Not so much. Anyway, there are plenty of other places to get drinks. If International doesn't want my business, OK. I sat here at the end of the bar for about 30 minutes before I was waited on. Although, the bar wasn't too busy. They had a small band playing music that the younger generation seemed to like. The drinks weren't amazing and since the service was so slow I had decided to go somewhere else on the strip rather than spending the time there any longer waiting for service. I did not try any of the food, because the drink service was hard for just one. I may try it again in the future but not for awhile. read more

This place is one of my salt lake staples! Whether I make a special trip downtown or a stop on the way home from work, International has everything you need. The drinks are yummy and they're always switching out their specials. The bathroom is ADORABLE, I love all of the drawings! But the real reason I keep coming back is COLE!!!! She's always so sweet and makes the meanest drinks. Cannot recommend enough. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE, RACIST AND XENOPHOBIC! I went with my friends tonight to get some drinks and my friends got some shots and it was a tab of 26$ and they gave the brunette 40-50 year old bartender a 2$ tip and she was rude saying that it was less than 10%, and then refused to give me and my GF because of my friends didn't give her a enough tip for her, we then told her that is not our problem, she gave us the cocktail and I didn't tip her on purpose because how rude she was and then she started yelling this FUCKING MEXICANS, GET OUT. and 2 min later the door security came to kick us out just for not giving a tip which is optional lol. This place should be close for the bad customer service, I still don't know how they are still in business. read more

The service here is TERRIBLE. The bartenders were just rude and racist. I had ordered drinks with my friends and the bartenders let their friends get in front of us, took their order first, then gave them free drinks. Our drinks sat there and when we asked for them they said they couldn't confirm they were our drinks. We told them that they were and their coworker made them for us but they refused to give us the drinks and then they proceeded to talk badly about us in front of us. Not only were the bartenders white but so were their friends, while our group was only people of color. I wouldn't recommend coming here it was a terrible first experience. read more

As the name refers it's quite an international mix of people that come here, mostly college kid's. Music has honestly always been shit and migraine inducing so we leave after a few drinks. Speaking of drinks, although cheap, you cannot taste any alcohol in them. Definitely not my crowd but it would be cool to see a good show or dj here once because it's quite big of a place but with very little seating. Fun just not for me. read more

READ PLEASE Walked in with my girlfriend and everything was chill at that point. We went to the bar and got two shots of tequila. We ordered tequila shots and then I tried to ask the bartender what tequila they had and he seemingly ignored me on purpose because he was overwhelmed and not capable of being a good bartender. Before he even gave us the shots he looked at us and said *aggressively* "we are paid $2 an hour so if you don't tip us we won't serve you." Side note: fair enough if he would have been nice about it that's a different story. My first response was what?! Because I didn't believe what I just heard come out of this man's mouth. I was very offended by this because I have plenty of money and never don't tip but the way this man threatened us (two 22-year-old girls) for a tip was disgusting and disrespectful. So we handed him a dollar (after how rude he had just been) and my friend looked at me and said "We need to get out of here" genuinely scared. He ripped the dollar out of her hand and put it in the tip jar. Then he said, "THIS IS WHY BITCHES LIKE YOU ALL GET RAPED." Then he put his hand out and shooed us away. Meanwhile, we didn't say anything to him after that he said all this on his own while we looked at each other shocked. That was so messed up and wrong in every way. Dissappointing whenever new ownership takes over a bar and fires deserving people who's only crime was to be hired as the old management was leaving. On top of that, they did so in an incredibly disrespectful manner. Already shows that new management is garbage people. Now as far as the service of the new bartenders...well you might as well just hang a cardboard cutout behind the bar. They were incapable of doing the simplest tasks and I watched one "pretty face" struggle with a bottle opener for 3 minutes to open a beer. This place will last 2 months at most and most of the old customers will never set foot in there again read more

Cheap drinks, pool tables, a stage for live performances, and interesting music almost every night all make The International the best new spot downtown to escape your regular haunts. It has quickly become my favorite spot to grab a drink, and I can bring in a slice from Pie Hole or an empanada from Arempas if I'm feeling hungry.
