A special night out with a $300-$400 check should feel memorable for the right reasons. I tried Bar167 for the first time during Restaurant Week, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. The prix-fixe menu was well-curated with something for everyone and a great bang for your buck. I started with the fattoush salad -- crisp, fresh greens with vibrant pomegranate seeds and pita croutons that struck a perfect balance of citrusy and savory. For my entrée, I chose the fish of the day, which was salmon, served beautifully with Lebanese fried rice cake, roasted veggies, and a smoky yogurt sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection -- moist and flavorful with just the right amount of char -- and the accompaniments were creative and complementary without overpowering the fish. really disappointed! stopped by for a quick bite and this place didn't live up to the hype whatsoever. service was dry, and the bartender seemed dissatisfied when we only ordered mocktails to drink. we decided to grab a couple small bites to test out the food before entrees. ended up ordering the funghi frittata and the focaccia. the fungi was extremely salty mixed with a displaced sweetness, and we honestly couldn't have but two bites of it before we called it plain inedible. the focaccia was equally as salty! and this is coming from someone who loves some salty food!! it was very tough, and just covered in parmesan cheese (not specified on the menu.) It could've been a little bit more palatable if the honey butter was on the side, but overall the bread was too hard, and we couldn't finish the small plate either. glad we decided to start with small plates, because we decided it wasn't even worth it to try the entrees out. maybe we went on an off night, but the vibes and recommendations of this place just didn't match up to the service and/or the food. :( read more

My boyfriend and I went to Bar 167 last weekend for drinks at the bar and had a great time. We added our name to the waitlist towards the end of the night and were quickly seated (5-10 minutes) upon arriving. The atmosphere inside is warm and intimate, perfect for a date night or dinner out with friends. The staff was friendly, although the bar service could have been more attentive (but understandable as it was a busy Friday night). The drink menu is impressive, featuring craft cocktails, and a fine selection of wines. The Cedro Spritz and the Fulton Street Rickey were our drinks of choice for the evening, which we both loved. The food, though limited, includes delicious options I would love to try further. The man shucking oysters (forgot his name, sorry!) was super kind and very knowledgeable and got our oysters ready in no time. I ordered 6 raw oysters and my bf got 6 oysters steamed. Due to a small mixup in the kitchen, my bf's steamed oysters came out a bit late, however they were delicious according to him. My raw ones were fresh and sooooo yummy. It was also happy hour so each oyster was only $1.50. Best price in the area!!! We grabbed some other happy hour menu items: hushpuppies, peel and eat steamed shrimp, steamed clams, and we ordered a side snow crab cluster not on happy hour. Everything was DELICIOUS. We walked out of there feeling good about the money we spent and we now have a place to go to every time we are in town. The ONLY downside was our waiter. He's lucky I forgot his name because he was awful and had the personality of a doorknob. I almost wanted to speak to the manager about him because he brought the vibe down. Horrible customer service, doesn't know how to be professional, and even when I waved goodbye saying thank you with a huge smile he just stared at me and didn't say anything. He needs a talking to because it's not that hard to be kind to others or have a little personality, especially in the hospitality industry.

That side (I believe it's called Landmark) has an even better atmosphere and is very warm and romantic. We were looking though for an '''oyster bar" experience, and the menu's have been merged. If I remember correctly, there was only one variety but the dozen we had were excellent as was the Tuna Crudo. Our daughter"s fish dish (I think it was tilefish - was amazing). My wife and I got the pasta with seafood special. I think the seafood part was really lacking. The pasta shells themselves were perfect, the sauce a little bland. Overall a very nice restaurant and meal, but somewhat pricey for what we got. And definitely not an "oyster bar" any longer.

God I love bubbly. I think I belong here. We order steak frites, truffle fries, crab fondue, sweet corn risotto, and salmon carpaccio. Housed it. Took it down.
