New fav restaurant in Charleston. Impeccable chill gorgeous vibes. Food is outstanding! The cucumber tomato salad was so fresh and vibrant.

Great drinks, decent food. Got the steak frites with truffle fries. Fries were great, steak was good but wouldn't necessarily return for it. Very small portions, so you might need to hit a drive thru on the way home

Decent atmosphere. Food and drinks took a bit to come out and was alright. Nothing to rave about for the mains. Oysters were good and loved that they had small "tiny tini" options for those who don't want a full martini

Very expensive upscale cocktail / oyster bar you can never get into without reservations. But the oysters and espresso martinis are top notch. You can easily spend 200.00 in less than an hour here. Parking is impossible find a parking garage and save time. Caviar cones are a must try item.

This was hands down one of our favorite dinners on the bachelorette party! This place is worth every wait. We walked around and shopped a little while we waited. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was so Charleston. They had some of the best oysters, so fresh! We're from Texas so a good lobster roll is not something we get often and we've traveled to the East Coast and all their seafood was definitely comparable! We can't wait to go back to this place!

This was perhaps my favorite meal while visiting Charleston! I know for certain that this was the best fish sandwich I've ever had in my life! It consisted of crispy halibut with some incredible sauce and house made pickles. The salad on the side was super fresh and packed with toppings one might not usually get when ordering salad out at a restaurant. While the bartender wasn't very friendly or warm, he was extremely helpful with drink selection and made an excellent cocktail! The atmosphere was lively, bright and interesting. I will absolutely prioritize a stop here the next time I visit!!

Amazing food! I thought this was some of the best food I've had in Charleston. Best calamari I've ever had! Service was excellent. Make reservations in advance. I'll definitely be going back. The only downsides are that it's annoyingly dark inside and it's super loud. The tables are so close together that me and my friend were yelling to hear each other. We went home with a headaches from the noise. I'll be back on a less-busy day for some wonderful food. Priced well.

4.5 Stars I had dinner here on a Monday evening, and was seated right away at the bar. The menu is a fusion of seafood and Mediterranean items. The Salt Cured Beet Salad ($16) was bright and beautiful and had a Mediterranean flair (fried cumin and tahini dressing - very nice combination of flavors). The Crab Roll ($30) was LOADED with fresh crab on a buttery brioche roll. I wish the chips the better - or maybe it was good that they weren't or else I would have eaten them all lol. The presentation of everything was gorgeous. Staff was lovely and the interior is stunning - breezy, South Carolina island vibes.

The Hungry Detective and Special Agent Deirdre along with friends had the most fabulous experience last night at Bar 167!!!. Let me start by saying if I could give 6 stars about the experience and wonderful service from Gabrielle I would!!! Gabby went above and beyond the call of duty and is a true gem and asset to your team!!! She selected some top shelf oysters and the Martini with 3 olives was right on the money with Cathead vodka ATMOSPHERE: This is the old Fulton 5 locations, which was the most romantic spot in Charleston back in the day and still has great bones and layout!!! Check out the upstairs bar area...super cool vibe!!! CUISINE: We had the shrimp and calamari to start and it was perfect. The Mac and Crab was cooked to perfection accompanied with the lamb skewers AKA: "GHETTO SURF N TURF" VERDICT: BAR 167 IS GUILTY AS SIN FOR DOING IT TOO PERFECTION EVERY TIME WITH CONSISTENT SERVICE AND FOOD!!!

We meant to go to the Oyster bar, but walked into this sister restaurant instead. It's more of a bar vibe, but still has a menu with oysters as well. I wasn't feeling the greatest during this Charleston visit, so we only got some appetizers to share (fries and hummus platter). Drinks were good, atmosphere was nice and the appetizers were also decent. Would have probably enjoyed the Oyster bar more, but still a good spot.

Calamari- Super salty, not enough lemon

Unfortunately we were all super disappointed by our experience this evening. Started with an hour wait and mediocre service once we got in. Something wrong with every part of our dishes. The calamari was good but super salty. The house made linguine didn't have much crab at all, but flavors were tasty. The bucatini was just every weird. It was very underdone, and no it wasn't even al dente, and the pine nut taste lasted in my mouth the rest of the night. The worst part of the meal was the fish of the day which was a pesto halibut that was pan seared. It was severely overcooked and lacked any flavor. The potatoes were covered in cumin and not in a good way. Maybe we messed up by not trying any oysters or drinks but I definitely wouldn't go back for any of these things.

Being somewhat still full from lunch this was a great place for a light dinner. The SPANISH OCTOPUS - Chorizo & sofrito potatoes, kalamata purée, herb salad was amazing, as was the WAGYU CARPACCIO - Gremolota, cured egg yolk, candied walnuts, shallot, thai basil. The table also shared the MEZE PLATTER - Rotating cheese, hummus, whipped tzatziki feta, pita, house marinated olives, raw honeycomb which was great too. Service was outstanding and the place itself feels like a hidden getaway. Coming in the entrance and snaking around to the main dining area, you are still open to the outside air, and it seems like there is an upstairs area too.

To start Abigail, our waitress, was attentive, helpful, super sweet and just about the best waitress I have ever had. My wife and I ordered a round of cocktails, expecting the usual great description with subsequent lack luster drinks. Last night was different, midnight bloom which is their take on an old fashioned, but really in a different league; Smooth complex, and satisfying. My wife got the Ruby Ruby which is sort of a pomegranate martini with champagne. Refreshing and vibrant. For appetizers we had the blue crab fritters and the pork belly. The fritters were crispy, light, and full of crab flavor. Virtually no filler. I could have eaten a hundred. The pork belly was crispy, and rich without being too heavy. They also serve it in a white sauce that I was still thinking about the next day. For entrees we got the Roasted grouper and the pork shank. The grouper was maybe a bit overcooked and dry, but the accompanying butter beans stole the show. The were rich, and layered with flavor. I will never see the simple butter bean in the same way ever again. The pork was fall off the bone tender without being dry. The sauce it was served in was a masterpiece. There were hints of apple, berry, cinnamon, and many other notes, I would drink it by the glass if it was available. We split the gelato for dessert. Pure delight. Smooth, bursting with flavor, and leaving you wanting for more. All in all, except for a small misstep with the cook on the grouper a near perfect dinner. I would go there soon because a Michelin star can not be far off, and then getting a table will be a near impossibility.

Nice list of 3 mocktails so even if not consuming alcohol one can look to play the part at the table and enjoy the flavor notes of a well made cocktail. The first meal we had was a bit of a work/get together meal. We ordered an assortment of items off of the menu and created a more tapas menu. The charcuterie board we picked the cheeses for and it was lovely. All as expected and quite surprised to find a cheddar I enjoyed. Came with some grapes, figs, nuts, honey and I think mustard. Glazed carrots were phenomenal. Heartily enjoyed the beet salad and thought the presentation was quite pretty. Lamb lettuce wraps are alright. Not my favorite of all the dishes served but delivered as promised, nicely cooked and presented. Spouse really liked the lamb wraps and were a stand out dish to them. Meatballs are excellent truly great texture and flavor. Escargot was a fun take on a classic dish. Finished with a unique strudel in its presentation it was quite pleasant. Spouse liked the peanut butter chocolate dessert. For brunch, I had the carrot ginger soup. Which I must say was a total delight. The soup had the hallmark texture and base flavor of the carrot ginger but it had a beautiful breath of savory and some heat seasoning wise to it. It was quite an elevated soup and heartily enjoyed! I followed the carrot soup with a French toast. I am all for softly scrambled eggs but the French toast was a touch undercooked. (I did not let the restaurant know or give them the chance to make right. I regularly eat soft boiled eggs and soft scrambled so I felt comfortable with consuming them.) Strawberries were ripe and tasty. The whipped cream was gorgeous in thickness and flavor. One in law had the caesar salad with croutons and grilled chicken. Their bowl was left clean so while they are not the talkative of sorts they did seem to enjoy it. Ordered a baguette with butter. Unfortunately the butter never made it to the table but the baguette was enjoyed. Spouse had the Azur burger with the side of tapas style potatoes. All was cooked properly to temperature and texture. Flavor and taste as promised. Wasn't their favorite dish at Azur as we had tried so many lovely dishes a few evenings before. But it did deliver on what was represented in the menu. She is an incredible asset to your restaurant, and we are so grateful for the care and hospitality she showed us. Thank you, Maranda, for helping create such wonderful memories. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and hope to see you again next year! . GO BILLS

His ability to create a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining the highest standards of service is truly remarkable. Every detail, from guest satisfaction to team morale, reflects his dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence. He leads with integrity, grace, and confidence, inspiring staff to consistently deliver outstanding dining experiences. We drive from Jacksonville Florida regularly because Alpha's attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and genuine care for both guests and employees set a standard that is rarely matched. High Cotton is a delicious, juicy experience! I firmly believe that High Cotton's restaurant's success is a direct reflection of Alpha's brilliant leadership and unwavering pursuit of excellence.

We frequently dine at many of the higher-end restaurants in downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant,…read moreso we arrived with high expectations, especially given this restaurant's connection to the Halls group. The dining room is beautiful, and the ambiance is excellent. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality level or price point of the restaurant. When entrées range from $65-$70 for fish, $80+ for steaks, and side dishes approach $14 or more, guests reasonably expect an elevated and attentive dining experience. Throughout the evening, our server seemed rushed and disengaged. Despite our efforts to be friendly and conversational, interactions felt brief and transactional. A drink order was delivered incorrectly, and rather than improving as the meal progressed, the service became increasingly impersonal. We never felt particularly welcomed or valued as guests. A special night out with a $300-$400 check should feel memorable for the right reasons. While the food and atmosphere were good, the overall experience fell short of what we have come to expect from restaurants operating in this category and at this price level. We are glad we gave it a try, but in the future we'll likely choose other Charleston-area restaurants that deliver a more polished and hospitality-focused experience when entertaining family and friends from out of town.
