The service is fast and they speak to you like you have been friends with each other for a while. The place is a small place where the seating is really close to the bar on the side. Food was super delicious! I had the french toast waffles, Mediterranean Benedict, chicken sliders, and the beef sliders and they all tasted great. My table mates also shared a house salad and they really liked it. The service was very good - they kept our water filled and even gave us a free dish to try out their new menu items (the bar pizza - really yummy). Food was average, tried the focaccia grilled cheese, thank goodness for the vodka sauce. Popcorn shrimp also nothing special. For entrees had the gyro bao was just okay. Chicken pita taco was fine but not exciting, and a bit dry. The filet mignon skewers were tender although overcooked but most disappointing was the chimichurri sauce. Easily, the best spot on Bell Blvd, hands down. The entire interior of this restaurant/bar was very well designed and brings a nice ambiance that you notice the second you walk in. Fodi, the owner, is extremely friendly & welcoming and goes out of his way to make sure everyone is having a good time. The cocktails - VERY good. I come here often with my girlfriend & buddies and our favorites are easily the "Honey Honey" & the "Floral Drink". Drinks are strong and are delicious. The food is excellent as well, I came for brunch and we ordered just about everything on the brunch menu and had no complaints. For dinner - the chicken baraki was very good. Came here on a spur of the moment night for some drinks. We had the gold digger and espresso martini and both were great! We ate the whipped feta and lemon potato croquettes which I'm honestly still thinking about the next morning. Tried really hard to like this new spot on Bell Blvd, but ultimately the poor service and lack of hospitality never allowed us to even give each other a chance. We found this place because it was newly renovated and we really liked pictures of their back room, which was cute and picturesque. When we came here to inquire about planning a group event in the space, the manager at the time Francisco greeted us and showed us the space, and wrote down his email so we could get more info. However, the email bounced back even after multiple attempts. We tried giving their phone number listed on Yelp and Google a call, but it wasn't even working or taking messages! We could've given up, but we liked them and wanted to try again, so we visited in person a separate weekend. This time, there was someone else in charge since Francisco wasn't around, and when we mentioned to the hostess that we wanted to talk about a possible event, the gentleman in charge working behind the counter gave her a "look" right in front of us as if to say, "stop wasting your time on them and ignore them." The hostess looked apologetic and said sorry. Did that just really happen? The manager/barista just told their own staff to ignore us, a potential customer simply asking for some info? I was dumbfounded and just stood there as the hostess sheepishly looked away. I liked this place before when it was Avli Cafe with its quaint vibe and friendly service, and I don't know what changed and maybe I'm simply unlucky, but this was a poor experience. We had a very nice time at Baraki. The food and drinks were very good and reasonably priced as well. They serve tapas style dishes and the options are all very healthy. The atmosphere and decor is very cool here. You feel like you're in a city setting. They had a live DJ which was fun and he played good music (slightly loud at times, but many ppl enjoy that vibe.) The owner was very nice and friendly. He came to our table introduced himself and made sure we had a great time there. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers experience. We ordered quite a few things so let's into it. The espresso martini was yummy. Made to perfection. We ordered, the whipped feta, popcorn shrimp, burned grilled cheese all were so good and tasty. We also ordered the wings, bar pizza and citrus mango shrimp. While the wings were so good the other 2 apps fell short. The bar pizza tasted like microwave pizza and we did enjoy the shrimp, it reminded me of cerviche. It was good IMO. Then we ordered the chicken and rice entree and the gnocchi entree. The chicken was very good and the sauce on the chicken took it over the top. The gnocchi was a no for me. It was too dense and the cheese on top absolutely drowned the dish. I couldn't really appreciate the flavors because the cheese overpowered the entire dish. Our server was great, just amazing. Overall I would definitely come back. When it was time to leave, the place was full and the DJ was ready to begin his set.
