Don Luis Barber Shop does not have a website and nobody answers the phone! How am I to make an appointment?

Went here a couple times and had a good experience. My experience today was appalling! First my stylist made it seem like I was inconveniencing her with my request and argued that trimming the side of my hair nothing on top is a full haircut. THE WORST PART, I was over charged $70 for a beard trim and "haircut" which is completely a made up price given I have been here twice before and it was $40. She refused to charge me a different price so I reluctantly paid WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! read more

Would give it negative 5 stars if I could. Price too high. They don't know how to fade correctly. They were extremely rude and racist. They thought my boyfriend spoke Spanish and when he didn't understand they laughed and made fun of him in Spanish throughout the haircut. Horrible service . So my son went there one time at their old location, I never did. I can't speak to that location. What I can do is speak to the new location and what I've seen and experienced. Yes sometimes there is a wait. I think that's a good thing, unless like some of the other places that can use a razor and do fades, you want an appt 2+ weeks out and can wait it out. But I still think you would be surprised at the similarities. Yes, there are quite a few folks cutting hair, and they are all a bit different. One will use a razor and clean the edges, another doesn't. But at some point you find who you thinks does a better job with your hair and stick with them. But I've found most there are confident barbers. Cost is less than you pay at any where else that would use a razor. I've seen some of their fades, cuts, and the lines are crisp. I've had 3 haircuts there (my hair is cut on top, but I go low on the sides and back). All 3 haircuts were good, but one was definitely the best. This last one, I'm not totally happy, I think more could have been taken off, have this weird wave thing happening, but 2-3 more weeks and maybe I won't notice it and it will be time for another cut {shrug}. I don't know all their names yet, but I will try to learn them. It's a family place, lots of kids. They also do waxing (eye brows). For the cut and the quick hair wash, I don't think it can be beat. I welcome them to their new place (waits won't be so long :)) (other complaints from prior years in these reviews). My son has had good experiences as well, he prefers the young guy (not sure if that is Dons son or not, but he liked him the best). So ya, I think you can trust these folks to do a quality job on your hair. And if you are high and tight and need those crisp lines and clean part lines, they can do it. Went here again after a good experience the first time, but will not be returning. First off, the way I was greeted when I called to make an appointment, all she said was, "Yes?" I didn't know if I had the right number, so I had to confirm I was calling the business. The cut was fine, but the fade ended up being too high than where I said I wanted it. I'll take the blame on that one. At least I only wait about 2 weeks to get a haircut. The line up in some areas got pushed back a bit, but not crazy noticeable. My biggest concern is pricing. It's cash only, which is fine, but I didn't see any prices posted anywhere. The first time I came in, the guy before me paid $35. Then when I was done, I was told $40. This time, a guy before me paid $40 (I saw 2 twenties handed). And then when I went up to pay, I was charged $45 for the same cut I got last time (pretty standard: trim on top, fade on the side, neck taper, line up). It's becoming too inconsistent for me and will find another place. read more

Haircut: 5 Value: 3.5 Service: Excellent Came here on a Monday around 5PM and was helped almost immediately by Tilo. Everyone there was incredibly nice, friendly, and personable. I can see there being quite a wait though, as there aren't a ton of hair cutters/stylist people and they take their time to make sure you get the best possible cut. I will say though, I looked on their website beforehand and it said men's haircut for my partner would be $30, which would be our upper limit since he doesn't usually need anything too complicated. However, we were charged $35. We didn't make a fuss because it was a quality cut, but not sure if we can afford to come back, especially if he wants to come often to keep the hair shorter. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I've came here a few times and every time the barbers are rude and seem inconvenienced with my request. I asked for a simple low fade but the barber said it wouldn't look even since the top of my hair is too long. Throughout the haircut the barber kept telling me my hair is too straight. I put my glasses on to see what the progress looked like but she looked pissed off that I wanted to see what my hair looked like which is strange. Leaving the shop I felt like I was robbed and very disrespected. My hair is not even and she did a terrible job of blending in the fade. It's very choppy and uneven everywhere. Overall the haircut was terrible, service was bad, and not to mention very expensive. My first hair cut was $45, second was $40, and third was $50. They seem to change the price every time. I'm not sure why I decided to go the third time but it's definitely my last. I tried to be nice to these barbers but for some reason are always so rude. If you're looking for a good haircut, do not go here. I would suggest going to Livermore Barbershop on 2nd street. They will treat you with respect and charge a flat fee of $40. read more

If you are looking for a good butcher shop then look no further..... very very very disappointed in my haircut. Chunks of hair missing.... hair that didn't get cut at all.... everything is uneven....every very very disappointing and upsetting experience. Will never go back! I now look like I have Mange! I came in for a standard haircut. The barber is a young man and as he begins cutting my hair I lose trust that he knows what he's doing. He holds the clippers loosely, cutting something here, something there. Uneven strokes, no direction in his process. The result is a totally uneven haircut. I many times specifically asked him to make sure it was even on both sides. But It was only at the end that he completely failed me, cutting one side irreversibly too high. Resulting in a terrible hair line, completely uneven. I told him this and he said it was fine, but it definitely was not. How do they hired such a terrible barber is beyond me. Save your hair go and go to another barber in Livermore, there are many. I later called to complain, and explained that I was disappointed with the result. They said they were sorry and that I could come back and they would "fix" my hair. I didn't complain at the ship because I couldn't bring myself to put him on the spot. TLDR: Overall, terrible experience, bad haircut, there was some effort by the business to repair the situation. I recommend you don't go here read more

Unless you want to wait for 2+ hours for a haircut, go the other direction. I've been so patient bcz my teenage boy is afraid to switch barbers but seriously they not only don't take appts they don't even give you a time frame for waiting. I'm a big fan of this barber shop, thanks for a recommendation by a friend. They are a true barber shop and use many different techniques when cutting hair. They are very kid friendly. The wait can sometimes be long. It's best to pay attention to who is there ahead of you - they work off of an honor system when it's time to take the next customer. read more

I would give this place a big thumbs up! My hair cut was less than 20$ and they knew how to do good fades, tapers, and were very careful. I usually find that when most people buzz your hair they press on your head really hard. not at this place, they were very careful and asked questions to make sure it was a great hair cut experience from my end.
