Burrito Bowl. As you can see, the rice barely covered the bottom. It was the same on the other side under the limes.

This Barberitos used to be the best in town. I'm not sure what happened. A couple weeks ago, we got some food and the portion size was a little smaller than usual. We didn't say anything and figured maybe someone was training. Then we got home and the salsa tasted off. Again, figured maybe an off day, we have never had any major problems before. Just typical to go issues. After tonight, we will never be back. The restaurant wasn't busy or crowded, we actually were the only people in there. The 3 people working barely spoke to us, and when they did they just kept talking over each other so we had to ignore one of them to speak to the other. We almost didn't receive salsa as the woman asked us about chips while we were telling another person our toppings, and she didn't put salsa in the bag. We realized before we left. By the time we got home (10-15 mins) to eat, we noticed the portion sizes. My burrito bowl was more bowl than anything. There was likely one scoop of rice as it didn't even fill the bottom, and maybe a half scoop of chicken. I'm used to the toppings making me stuff the bowl shut, and having enough to make 2 meals out of it. My toppings barely touched the lid of the container. It was very disappointing as this used to be a favorite restaurant of mine, but over the last few years it has progressively gone down hill.

This has been my spot for so long. Whether it's been picking up dinner or ordering catering for 20-30 people, Barberitos on Pisgah has always delivered the goods. Not only has the decor been given a facelift, but the menu and ingredients have too. I'm usually okay with price hikes but when you lower the quality of the ingredients and also raise prices by 30% -- it usually doesn't end well. Between my group we all ordered variations of steak nachos. Had a desire to add sautéed vegetables on my nachos but the grill looked like it had not been cleaned all day. Skip. The staff did not seem happy to serve. Ordered a drink and had to remind them to give me a cup. Paid for our food and it seemed like they were going to just let us walk away without offering a bag. No more salsa bar, that stinks. We were happy with the portion size of the steak, until we got home and started to eat. Most of the steak was chewy with gristle littered throughout (enter lower quality). I would return once more just out of the kindness of my heart and knowing how well the past experiences went. I would skip on the steak, for sure. Sadly, I don't see much hope in the future for this location.

Finally, back open for business! Tucked away in North Elm Village, they have returned from a long remodel and awesome as always. The friendly staff are eager to please and the choices offered are fresh and very tasty. Had the chicken burrito with pico, rice, spinach, and their special vinaigrette. Yum! So glad they're back and love the new look!

I love Barberitos! Personally I think it is better than all of the competitors I.e Moe's, Chipotle. This location is always clean + friendly. * Favorites* Chicken Burrito Bowl with black beans, rice, chicken, cheese, corn salsa + chipotle ranch. Chicken Quesadilla

Love me some Barberitos! My go to is their spicy chicken burrito with rice and cheese. It's packed full of yummy spicy chicken and I love to drizzle their queso over it. The chips are like heaven, and give me all the spicy fire red salsa please! Can you tell I love a little heat on my food?! We've had their catering on several occasions and it's always a hit. Barberitos is a family favorite!

Had my quesadilla made by Sarah and felt like it was tailor made. Great work guys keep it up!! I didn't feel like any regular customer with this kind of service.

Not bad. It's average. I usually go here if I don't feel like driving down Battleground Ave. to go to Moe's or searching for Chipotle.

Update for our 2026 annual visit:…read more We ate in this year and the service and ambiance matched the quality of the food we had last year. I have been looking forward to the World Ninja Championships so that I can eat here again and the team did not disappoint. I had the special, chilaquiles supreme and YES! Flank steak butterflied and so tender that I cut through it easily with a butter knife. They make the chips fresh for each order of chilaquiles and you can taste it. Generous amounts of every flavor that went into the meal and I left stuffed! Hands down, my favorite place and I have a feeling we are making a second trip here this year for sure! First impression as you walk in, or look at images of the menu: AUTHENTIC! First impressions when you bite into your food: They nailed the first impression! I had the lingua, tripa, pez, and Pastor tacos. My family had the California burrito, chicken and beef tacos, and the Enchiladas Mexicanos with mole and salsa verde. We also added a side of guac and chips. Guac: thin mixed avocado and perfectly sized chunks mixed in with the tomato and seasonings. An absolute must! The 4 tacos I ate were succulent to say the least. The tripa was thin and crispy, but you could taste the rendered fat in them. It had the texture of perfectly cooked bacon. Al pastor is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. Then there was the pez taco that was just the right amount of crispy without being an iota overcooked. At last I ate the lingua taco. It melted in my mouth and I immediately wanted another. I don't even like mole sauce, but I couldn't stop eating the mole enchilada. Aces, hands down. The California burrito was phenomenal and had the perfect amount of each ingredient and a delectable amount of heat and sweet cream sauce. The chicken was obviously hand shredded and had equal amounts of larger chunks of meat and thin pulled pieces to soak up all the flavor in endless nooks and crannies. If you have not been here please do your palate a flavor and stop in. The value far exceeded the price of our meals and we plan on coming here every year when the World Ninia finals rome to town

Service was really bad. Our server was absolutely terrible. Got most of our order wrong despite showing her the items on the menu. She didn't check the table at all and we had to send other employees to get her and even then she performed what was a very simple job extremely poorly despite having only one other table. Ambiance was terrible. Music was so loud. We had to actually yell at each other as did the other patrons and we asked multiple times to turn it down without success. Will never return to this awful restaurant.

True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall. I'm not often in the area, but I'll certainly eat here again if I am!

The name Bandito Bodega is extremely accurate, as the store itself is a small and unassuming looking place, with a charmingly decorated interior and some indoor and outdoor seating. It did not need any flashiness or grandeur- just some good food and good vibes. Now the food: WOW I was blown away by the pork belly garlic fried rice. The pork belly was so incredibly fatty and perfectly crispy, the shrimp add-on was juicy and well seasoned, and the fried egg over a bed of DELICIOUS steamy garlicky fried rice was absolutely perfection.
