I had another great experience at Taco Mamma that reminded me why it's such a favorite of mine. I ordered my go-to shredded chicken nachos to go and headed to my car, only to realize there were no chips in the container. I popped back inside and let Taylor know, and he explained that the chips were under the toppings. Now, if you've ever ordered nachos to go, you know the struggle. Even the thickest chips don't stand a chance and quickly turn into soggy cornmeal. Taco Mamma's chips are delightfully thin and absolutely perfect when fresh, so I asked if I could just get a bag of chips and eat the toppings off the rest. Taylor would not hear of it. He insisted on making me a brand-new order, no hesitation, no fuss. I was so grateful--and honestly impressed by the kindness and care. I absolutely love Taco Mamma's nachos: the chips, the shredded chicken, the unlimited toppings, and of course the queso. It's truly one of my all-time favorite meals. I love ordering them to go so I can eat comfortably at home while watching reality TV, and as a bonus, I can portion one $15.50 chicken nacho entrée into three or four meals. Huge thank you to Taylor for going above and beyond, and to Taco Mamma for consistently making the best darn nachos around. This is comfort food done right, with service to match.

Service was quick which is always appreciated. I ordered The Mayor tacos with a side of guacamole. Tacos had no flavor and the salsa was bland. Guacamole was great. Not really sure why this place is a Greensboro favorite. Taco Mama is a great example of Mexican food done American style.

I enjoyed Taco Mama. The service was quick and accurate. The vibe is cantina meets bar meets sit down restaurant. My tacos were good, they allow you to mix and match the 2 taco plate so I had one ground beef and one shredded chicken. They had a lot of toppings to choose from but I kept it simple with cilantro, queso fresco, and onions. Each plate comes with chips and salsa. The chips were a little salty for my liking but I was able to brush some of the salt into the Mac and cheese which was devoid of seasoning so it balanced out. I would not recommend the Mac and cheese. I was excited to see they had jarritos. I tried the grapefruit one because it was new to me. It was good and refreshing. They sell margaritas, but since this was a lunch trip on a workday I'll come back for those.

We have had taco mama a few times before but this was one of our first times eating inside the restaurant! It has a very upbeat vibe and staff is always really friendly. We went on a very busy saturday night and still got our food in a timely fashion! I really liked my pomegranate margarita, especially because i received it as soon as I finished ordering my food! The food is plentiful for the price and I felt it was flavored well too. Taco mama is one of my favorite casual places to stop in for a quick bite and a good drink without the sit down price tag. The only thing I don't enjoy is the limited parking lot space there and the ordering system as it can feel a bit overwhelming with a long line to the door and trying to find a place to sit. The chips are fried perfectly as well but use a little bit of seasoning in my opinion!

Hit the spot! I tried two different tacos - the Justice is Served with shrimp and the Steak Sizzler. Both had great flavor and a perfect balance of toppings. The herbed mac and cheese was creamy, and uniquely good. Also enjoyed a pomegranate margarita! Very refreshing and perfect balance of ingredients. In the summer, you have to try the watermelon margs. They're all good but it's next level! Lively atmosphere and great service as always!

Taco Mama is one of those places that puts you in a good mood the second you walk in. The vibe is cool, the walls are decked out with fun, colorful art, and the energy is casual but lively, exactly what you want from a great taco joint. Service was super friendly and fast, and the menu is loaded with choices: tacos, burritos, bowls, you name it. The tacos are definitely the stars. You can build your own or go for one of their specials, and either way, you're in for something tasty. I stopped in for lunch and tried three different tacos along with their homemade tortilla chips (which, by the way, are addictive). I went with the ahi tuna, flounder (you can get it grilled or fried), and chicken. All three were fresh, flavorful, and generously filled. You get your choice of hard or soft shell for any taco. It's a fun spot with great food, great drinks (cool margarita list), and good vibes all around. Whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or meeting friends for dinner and drinks, Taco Mama is a solid choice.

I know I didn't capture the greatness as well in this picture but the food was amazing! I really enjoyed the tenderness and flavor of the steak in this burrito. The gentleman who took my order actually recommended I try this burrito based off what I wanted at the time. He was spot on! The food came out fast and fresh! The menu had a little something for everyone and there is PLENTY of seating here either you're solo or with a large group. This restaurant will be at the top of the rotation for me when I want Mexican Cuisine!

I've been to Taco Mama twice now, and have determined it is severely underrated. Food is excellent, staff are friendly, and environment is fun. The first time I went, I had build your own tacos, this time I had build your own nachos-- both times with tofu for the protein. As a former vegetarian and lifelong tofu lover, I'm always happily surprised when a restaurant (like this one) can successfully serve flavorful tofu that is properly seasoned from the inside out-- not just breaded then doused in sauce. This tofu is marinated in cilantro-lime juice overnight, then seasoned and grilled. It tastes both savory and fresh. Today, in addition to tofu, I got refried beans, black beans, fresh jalapeños, onions, avocado, cilantro, and queso on my nachos. The menu has a HUGE variety of "fresh free toppings," which you can load up on with the create your own options. Pricing is just based on the protein you choose, so you don't have to worry about the price racking up with each topping you add. I appreciate that toppings some restaurants might deem "premium" (like queso or avocado) are still free, so I don't feel the need to sacrifice flavor to save $2. I noticed that with both my nachos and tacos, they put an appropriate amount of each thing I ordered. I didn't think anything was skimped out on, but I also didn't feel like my food was soggy nor dry, the liquid:solid ratio was perfect. My one and only complaint is that the sauces are not very spicy. While the tomatillo salsa is flavorful and delicious, I'm not sure I would agree that it is as "hot!" as the menu suggests. I wish there were a spicier option (other than the Cholula on the tables). Still, this is a small sacrifice to make when the rest of the food is so good, and toppings such as fresh jalapeños can compensate.

The chicken in the taco had no flavor. The lettuce left the taco and the basket it came in drenched. Guacamole was flavorless as was the salsa. Way overpriced. Atmosphere was bare bones warehouse style which actually had more attention to detail than the food.

The watermelon margarita never disappoints! I also tried the grilled shrimp this time, great flavor! My friends both preferred the shredded chicken over the grilled chicken in their burrito & salad.

Came on a Saturday around 7. Was busy. Long line. But drink and food came out quick once I ordered. Cute vibes inside. Got the justice is served and got one fish and one shrimp. One crunchy and one soft. Shrimp was on point and the crunchy taco was better than soft. I got the black beans as a side. So flavorful! Pomegranate marg is becoming my fav go to everywhere I go. It's not too sweet but just enough flavor! Will definitely be back!

I've only eaten Taco Mama for catering, so I was so excited to dine in! It definitely did not disappoint. The vibes were festive and comfortable, and the lights inside were so pretty and cheerful. The service was remarkably fast, and the staff was so kind as well. The food was so delicious too! I ordered the barbacoa quesadillas and my friend ordered the burrito bowl. But what really impressed me what the chips. I have no clue what they do with their chips, but they're so incredibly crispy, light, and delicious. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a casual fun meal!

Called in an order from more some nachos to go last weekend while hanging out at Gate City Growlers down the road. The girl who answered was incredibly friendly, and happy to help me figure out what I wanted. I guess their menus are built to order, and she made some recommendations of what other put with chicken nachos. 10 minutes later, I drove up the road to pick up my order and they were quick to get me checked out and on my way back to GCG with a warm traf of delicious nachos. Unfortunately I forgot to get a picture before I ate them all, but they were fantastic. They were loaded up with lots of chicken, tomatoes, cheese and a cup of queso on the side to pour over. Without a doubt I'll be stopping in there again either to get an order to go, or dine in. Great experience, great customer service!

Update for our 2026 annual visit:…read more We ate in this year and the service and ambiance matched the quality of the food we had last year. I have been looking forward to the World Ninja Championships so that I can eat here again and the team did not disappoint. I had the special, chilaquiles supreme and YES! Flank steak butterflied and so tender that I cut through it easily with a butter knife. They make the chips fresh for each order of chilaquiles and you can taste it. Generous amounts of every flavor that went into the meal and I left stuffed! Hands down, my favorite place and I have a feeling we are making a second trip here this year for sure! First impression as you walk in, or look at images of the menu: AUTHENTIC! First impressions when you bite into your food: They nailed the first impression! I had the lingua, tripa, pez, and Pastor tacos. My family had the California burrito, chicken and beef tacos, and the Enchiladas Mexicanos with mole and salsa verde. We also added a side of guac and chips. Guac: thin mixed avocado and perfectly sized chunks mixed in with the tomato and seasonings. An absolute must! The 4 tacos I ate were succulent to say the least. The tripa was thin and crispy, but you could taste the rendered fat in them. It had the texture of perfectly cooked bacon. Al pastor is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. Then there was the pez taco that was just the right amount of crispy without being an iota overcooked. At last I ate the lingua taco. It melted in my mouth and I immediately wanted another. I don't even like mole sauce, but I couldn't stop eating the mole enchilada. Aces, hands down. The California burrito was phenomenal and had the perfect amount of each ingredient and a delectable amount of heat and sweet cream sauce. The chicken was obviously hand shredded and had equal amounts of larger chunks of meat and thin pulled pieces to soak up all the flavor in endless nooks and crannies. If you have not been here please do your palate a flavor and stop in. The value far exceeded the price of our meals and we plan on coming here every year when the World Ninia finals rome to town

I don't think I've seen a larger burrito from a sit-down restaurant. All of the fillings of the burrito were cooked very well, and the seasonings were on point. True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall.
