British apparel company that is headquartered in NH (out of all places!) for the USA division. This location is the distributor, but it has a cozy small outlet store that carries items that were used for sale representatives to sell to the customers. Nothing is wrong with the pieces; they just happen to be the ones they showcase, and oh by the way, they usually carry in two sizes (size 8 and some other size for women's collection). They also sell "returned" items from the stores. They carry both men and women's apparel as well as the occasional accessories (scarves, bags, etc). My favorite find was a waxed cotton jacket that retailed or 345, but went down a whole lot at a bargain price which I thought was still pricey, but I still bought it. I also purchased my mom a quilted jacket that looks great on her. No Returns.They are open for limited hours M-Sat ?? They close at 4PM on Saturday. read more

My husband and I were referred to the Barbour outlet by satisfied members of a private hunting club. The quality of the materials are supberb. Even a cotton shirt feels like silk, its so nice. We've shopped there for several years now, and think we own just about one of everything they make! Their wax jackets are famous because they are cotton and breathe. Every few years, you'll want to re-wax them yourself, or send them in...or better yet, wait for a post card that offers free waxing on occasion. When you go, they'll put you on a mailing list for their 2 bigs sales every year. You can collect some remarkable buys during these sales. They set up tents outdoors. I ditto the recommendation to try on the British sizes which are quite different. read more

This place is a true well hidden gem! I've scored some really nice waxed cotton and quilted pieces in their red tag clearance section--vests, jackets, flat caps--they've got it. Every sales associate I've encountered in my 3 years of patronage has been very pleasant and always helpful. I've enjoyed my Barbour jackets over the past few years since I discovered this brand. I recently sent in my black Barbour Intl Motorcycle Jacket and had the brass buttons swapped out for black. Used the repair service for my wax hold-all bag. While the overall cost of repair was a bit pricy, the quality was worth every penny. They re-waxed and replaced the interior lining of the bag. When it was returned to me after 5 weeks it looked better than new. The service staff was great at communicating with me regarding what they were going to do and cost. I used the repair shop to lengthen my Beaufort by 3 inches (sleeve length). The repair shop did a fantastic job and was very prompt with answering emails and phone calls (I had absolutely no trouble with communicating). Now my Beaufort is perfect, and will hopefully last me a lifetime. Just for reference, the jacket was sent in late November, and was completed and returned by mid December. read more

I have been wearing Barbour coats for over a decade and I first visited the Barbour outlet in Milford about 5 years ago. At that time the selection was great, small imperfections in some that you can easily live with and save over 70% in some cases. As has been reported on Yelp by other reviewers, the customer service at Barbour's Repair Department is poor; they are not responsive to phone calls, nor systematic about notifying you when your garment arrived in their shop, or what it's status is. (Be sure to read Barbour's "filtered reviews" on Yelp, they are tucked away at the bottom of this page). I did some research before sending my Barbour coat to Barbour to be re-waxed. I discovered that there are two company's in Southern New Hampshire that perform the service, Barbour, and New England Reproofers in Nashua, NH. I decided to send my coat to Barbour, because they were Barbour, but in retrospect, I should have been sensitive to the critical reviews on Yelp of Barbour's Service Department, and used New England Reproofers. My patience with Barbour's Repair Department is exhausted. Next time my Barbour coat needs service, I will send it to New England Reproofers in Nashua, NH. read more

I have had to send my jacket back 3 times now for one simple repair. The first time around took over month to lengthen the sleeves, and they forgot to reproof it. When I got it back they just added 3 inches to the end of the sleeves- it looked horrible! I sent it back again after having major communication issues, and they sent it back reproofed and with the sleeves looking much better. But... the bottom seam came back completely undone like they had forgotten to sew it up. I am sending it back for a third time, its been months now, and they still do not respond to phone calls or voicemails unless you ask to speak to a manager (they don't seem to care much either). Not worth doing business with! I love Barbour but their headquarters in NH is awful. read more

Milford? Barbour has an outlet there? I was skeptical too until I made the 20 minute drive from Nashua only to find a REAL outlet....not one of those lower quality company outlets....no, no, no, this is the real deal, end of season, top quality outlet. It's in an unassuming industrial park with the tiniest entrance, but once inside, WHOA, have look at this secret stash of a store! Everything is as neat as a pin and the hangers are marked with sizes so you don't have to dig for your size. I put a lid on it at one jacket, but I could have bought stuff for everyone in my family, from babies to adults. Make the trip, you won't be disappointed. read more

Great customer service, well stocked, excellent deals to be found on everything from accessories, to pants, to jackets. Highly recommend checking out this clearance center if you're looking for something from earlier in the season or last season that you missed. It looks exactly like a very nice retail store and not like a clearance center as one of the photos shows. It is also in a commercial park, but it's not tough to find as it is right off a main road. It has now been two months since I sent my jacket in and still no response whatsoever from their office. No one has responded to my 6 e-mails, they never answer their phones nor return the 4 messages I have left. I am now without my jacket and a response. I BEG and BESEECH everyone--DO NOT send your jacket to Barbour because you will never get it back and absolutely NO ONE will respond. I am now seeking legal recourse. I love this place! I bought an overnight bag here years ago, and Kate Middleton has been photographed with the same one! If you don't have a Barbour Wax, you need one right away. They are the best at keeping one warm and dry. Do buy the lining as well. I learned the hard way that the lining in very necessary. read more

I rarely write reviews but I have not had, in recent memory, a shopping experience like I did over the weekend. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left I felt like I was visiting with friends, not shopping. All of the women working that day were warm, helpful and so gracious as to interact with my dog who was also in tow! In particular, Beth greeted me early on and walked me through the entire store and all the promotions. Once I had a lay of the land, she asked what I was looking for (she didn't try to sell me what she wanted!). She proceeded to pull over a dozen waxed cotton coats for me to try on, loading them up on my own personal garment rack. She was patient, informative, encouraging but not pushy. I tried and retried and she helped narrow down the rack to the final few. I landed on a navy Guillemot and could not be happier! A great coat at an incredible price. I shopped around for a few more things and made my purchase. The short drive to this center has been on my short list forever and I am so glad I finally did it! Not only did I find a unique Barbour jacket, I saved hundreds and had a comfortable and fun shopping experience. I will certainly add this shop to my regular rotation. Thank you! read more

I recently bought two Barbour coats from Orvis online, one came with a hanger and the other did not. That's how it is, Orvis told me. When I asked them if they could send me another they replied "Then we'd be a hanger short." Apparently, the Orvis rep found this problem to be much more vexing than I did. One quick email to Barbour and two sturdy wooden hangers were sent to me. Kudos to Barbour for their quick and attentive customer service!!! read more

I've owned my Barbour jacket for 15 years and it was time to send it off for another repair and re-wax. The New Hampshire facility does this type of work for Barbour in the US. As much as I love my Barbour coat, I am appalled by the lack of customer service this company provides, especially since it's own mission statement states the following "Barbour is dedicated to the highest levels of customer service. An important element of this commitment is our comprehensive reproofing, alteration and repair service available for our wax jackets." I sent two jackets off in November to have them repaired and re-waxed. My husband's jacket was returned, beautifully repaired and re-waxed. My jacket is nowhere to be found. I've emailed customer service 5 times and called customer service 4 times. I've received ZERO response from Barbour. No returned phone calls, emails...nothing. Let me know if you see an employee wandering around in a Navy blue Barbour with a hood. :( Fail. *Update. After one tweet, 2 facebook postings and yet another email, Barbour customer service did respond by email to let me know that my coat does, in fact, still exist and will ship out on Monday. Moral to the story is....respond to your customers phone calls, emails, etc. in a reasonable time-frame. Customers shouldn't have to work so hard to rectify a problem that is easily addressed by a timely email/phone call. read more

I won't shop here again after learning the hard way that all purchases are essentially final. To return an item, you must return it to the store *within 3 days* of original purchase. Returns may be *exchanged*, with original sales slip, for an item(s) of equal or greater value. Refunds and credits are *not* issued. While all this is spelled out on the sales receipt AFTER purchase, it is NOT obvious before purchase. The Barbour Outlet Store in Milford NH is small, but well worth a visit. It's a true outlet store, where you'll find deeply discounted items. My wife scolds me when I buy something simply because "the price is just too low to pass up", which is true at Barbour, but the merchandise is also high quality and it suits my outdoors instincts. The inventory changes regularly, so it's worth a visit every so often. I'm going there tomorrow. read more
