We got out of our car and were greeted with the sweet scents of smoky wood and delectable meats. This continued when we opened the door to a small but very clean dining/waiting area with 2 tables and a tv with an order window with a very busy but sweet woman who took our order! We got 2 of the "Slate Plate" platters so we could try a little of everything...WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! My favorite thing was how different things tasted. Sometimes sauces and beans can start to taste a little samey, not here...everything is unique and dynamic! I will say, the brisket was a touch dry but it wasn't inedible, I would probably just get more sausage! But everything else was amazing! We also got a side of wings and 1/2 slab of ribs! GO HERE IF YOU VISIT KCK!

Passing by driving from NYC to LA, we discovered this bbq place and we were not disappointed! The meat is so juicy and the taste is superb! The staff are so friendly and warm! We will definitely come back if we are in the area again!

When I say the meats had flavor, I mean it had flavor! No sauce needed and I'm a sauce junkie! Even the sides were tasty. There are only two tables inside this establishment and lucky me no one was dining in at the moment so I did. There were several orders being picked up during my visit. Staff is friendly and engage in conversation and also making sure everything was tasty. Definitely will be back!

I got there 5 minutes before open and they kicked me out to stand in the cold. No pulled pork, no Mac and cheese, burnt ends only on special so basically you have to get lucky. This place is more like a Gates than a full fledged restaurant if you're not ordering catering. Good for take out as the dining area only has 3 tables. + generous meat portions and good prices. + both mild and hot sauce is pretty good + good soft sandwich split bun + Ribs didn't need sauce + thick cut pickles - The brisket did not pass the pull test and was just ok. Same with the ham and turkey. - I would have rather paid a little more for them to fill up the coleslaw, it just looks sad how little there is in the cup. Overall, the beginning of my experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I went to the place down the street and had a much better experience and food. I won't be back here.

Small little place, but glad we made the choice to grab dinner there. Ribs and wings were amazing! Great service as well.

The skin was crispy, the meat was tender, the flavor was like firecrackers exploding in my mouth. I will most definitely be back to this spot because they really do put the soul in soul food!

Headed to this spot in KCK for Restaurant Week. They have daily specials - which are great deals!…read moreWe decided on the tackle box and the chicken Philly with pepper jack cheese. Service was efficient. Both items were generous portions. The tackle box was fish, shrimp and whole chicken wings. The basa fish was crunchy and flaky, wings fried perfectly and shrimp was juicy and large. Yummy! The tackle box came with 1 side- I chose Mac n cheese. Not my fave. Would not order again. The chicken Philly was huge. I couldn't finish it. It was kinda dry in parts like it needed some mayo or some kind of sauce. The fries were good, but would've preferred them to be fried a little longer to be more crunchy. The seasoning was good. I ordered a side of cabbage. It was good. This spot was about 30 minutes from my house. But I would recommend you try if you are in the area. Pro-tip- get there before noon. Or call ahead. It gets pretty busy after 12. And because it's cooked to order it's not quick. We waited about 20 minutes. The next time I'm in the area, I would def stop in to try the shrimp po boy and the collard greens.

UPDATE (July 2026):…read more I believe it's only fair to update this review. After my original review, I was called by Andrew, the General Manager. He apologized for our experience and invited us to give Hooters another chance. I have never had a business reach out by phone to personally apologize. This went a long way with me. We did give them another try. I'm happy to report that our second visit was the complete opposite of the first. Our server, Tiffany, greeted us immediately and actually offered drinks before we were even seated. Service throughout the meal was prompt, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. Our food arrived quickly, hot, and exactly as ordered. More importantly, this didn't feel like management simply "putting on a show" because they knew we were coming (they didn't). It felt like a restaurant that had genuinely corrected the problem I described in my original review. Andrew also offered to comp our meal as a goodwill gesture if we were to come back. While I appreciated the offer, I declined because I wanted to evaluate the restaurant as a regular paying customer. We paid for our meal ourselves, and because Tiffany provided exceptional service, we left her a $50 tip. I stand by my original review because it accurately reflected what happened that evening. However, I also believe businesses deserve credit when they acknowledge a problem, take responsibility, and fix it. Based on this visit, Hooters at The Legends appears to have done exactly that. I'm glad we gave them another chance.

I haven't been to a Hooters since early 2000. My wife has never been. We were in the area and…read moredecided to stop in. Well, maybe we should have gone to one of the other places nearby. Kierstin was our server, another than the wings, she was the highlight of the evening. Monday is but 10 wings, get 10 boneless wings for free. Kierstin helped with wing and sauce selection. Additionally I ordered a burger, requesting it medium, with bacon. tomato and onion. The burger was closer to well done and along with being dry, it was missing the tomato. When Kierstin checked back, I pointed this out. After several minutes she returned with a plate with 5 slices of tomato. I remarked that one would suffice. Of course that tomato slice did little to enhance the taste of a dry beef patty. As I said, the wings were good, but not good enough to bring us back.
