Went to mesh tonight and it was great. I really think their fried green tomato app is one of the best appetizers in Louisville, it's just that good.

We went for dinner here last night and had a very good experience. It had been a few years but all is still good. I liked that the decor absorbed most of the sound from conversations. We stared with the fried green tomatoes. Still the best in Louisville. My wife had the shrimp and grits. 4 shrimp. Overhead management. My salmon was tasty. The broccolini was a tad undercooked. Our server was nice but left us hanging a bit between drinks and courses. The prices were reasonable. Overall the experience was pleasant.

This restaurant never disappoints! My husband had the caprese pasta with an addition of sun-dried tomatoes per the server's recommendation and it took the dish to the next level! My mahi was cooked to perfection. And the dessert is my hubby's favorite and always ordered.

Or is a very nice restaurant. The prices are somewhat fair but slightly in the high side. The food quality is pretty good, but based on the atmosphere you would expect slightly more. The drinks are very very good and the staff has always been friendly

I recently took my dad to Mesh to grab brunch on his birthday. No one there ultimately acknowledged his birthday, but to be fair, I didn't go out of my way to remind them about it once we arrived. I was a little bummed at the options on the menu: I had previously found a Mesh brunch menu online which featured a number of exciting dishes listed... but it turns out that those are only offered on the weekend. So their weekday brunch options were a bit limited by comparison and the seafood benedict I was looking forward to wasn't available. We grabbed the fried green tomatos as an appetizer. They arrived buried beneath a Mount Everest of greens. On one hand, that made for a novel presentation. On the other hand, it felt like a strategic compensation for the fact that the tomatos themselves were very small. There were five of them, at least - so this somewhat compensated. We agreed that they were decent, but that doesn't say much. Fried green tomatos are like margaritas: even when done poorly, they're usually still enjoyable! Fortunately, these were not done poorly. They were solid: 3 stars. My dad loves hot browns and ordered one. I elected to go with a short rib grilled cheese. My dad said the hot brown was middle of the road: good, not notable. I felt the same way about my dish, but I must say that I think it's close to being a fantastic sandwich. The portion on the short rib grilled cheese was excellent. It was heavy and hearty. On the downside, the bread was very saturated, mostly with butter. This detracted from the crispiness I typically hope for with any grilled cheese. Secondarily, the sandwich would greatly benefit from a stronger sweet componenet. I believe it claims to have a tomato jam on it - great decision - but either this was too sparse or else not flavorful enough. I didn't detect the sweetness, which would no doubt have offset the savory, salty notes in a beautiful way. I really think this sandwich has five-star potential if accorded these two adjustments. Service was attentive. The ambiance was perhaps generic for a fine dining spot, but the whole place was pleasant and clean. I'll gladly eat in a barn if the food is good, so unless I'm on a date, I don't particularly prioritize the atmosphere. Ultimately, Mesh was meh. Meh-sh! Haha.

Great service! The food was delish! Classy but not to the point where you feel like you don't belong.

Regularly head to Mesh for a nice bite. It's kid friendly, with a variety of options off the kids menu to keep it fresh. At the same time, it's a bit more upscale than more casual restaurants. The patio is lovely on nicer evenings. Have enjoyed both the burger and shrimp and grits entrees. The burger is one of the better in Louisville. The shrimp and grits have plenty of seasoning and a little spice to it. The chicken chile is also yummy but only enough for a very light meal. The salad + salmon is a bit bland. The servers are always pleasant, accommodating, and very prompt

While I have been numerous times I do forget to leave follow up reviews. I stand on business with the first. Soooooo foolish to object. lol The salmon is what I always get. The bourbon sauce. I don't want no damn lemon dill nothing. lol they were out of the crispy leeks... but it's okay it was still perfectly cooked and my carrots were amazing. I'll need a double order of the rainbow carrots next time. The broccolini was good but I like it crunchy... so.. My lovely date had the shrimp and grits. I'm super picky about grits - so.... He loved them! (I'd order it but they can keep the grits and grit cakes lmao) The sausage was phenomenal!!!! The shrimp were cooked to perfection. I'd seriously just eat the shrimp and sausage.... Sooooo good. We also tried the blue dog bakery bread with the black Hawaiian salt- perfect so good. It's such a beautiful restaurant and always good service. Had several large parties come in so they were attentive to them and as needed lol was a lot of folks but we were busy with ourselves... so we kinda of didn't care. lol

I frequent the bar often. I typically have a good salad or appetizer. I also drink the red sangria frequently. It's a nice place with good ambiance.

We tried Mesh as our pre-show dinner headed to the world championship horse show. We chose to sit outside which was lovely. Service was a little slow to start but we were there early so I think that's why. The food was so delicious and the bread pudding was amazing.

We took my mom to Mesh for her birthday tonight not knowing at all what to expect. First of all, the place is gorgeous. Moody, good lighting, cozy, and modern. We had a bit of a wait and weren't sat until 20 min after our reservation time, but the manager came over and graciously apologized and sent us a free starter of the Blue Dog bread, which was crusty and fabulous. For drinks, we all had iced tea and a couple of cocktails. The Old Fashioned came out strong, made very well with our choice of bourbon (Old Forrester 100 proof), and the Paddington Pear vodka cocktail was tangy and tart, super good. All three of us ordered from the surf side of the menu; we had the shrimp and grits, the crab cakes, and the scallops. Every single dish was phenomenal, we were all eating bites off each other's plates to try everything. The plating and the accompaniment vegetables with every dish was remarkable. To quote my mom, "These scallops are like sugar, come to Mama!" We also did the fried green tomato app and the white chocolate cherry bread pudding for dessert. My word!! We will certainly be back!

A whole month in, and finally going to brunch for the first time in 2025 (outside of the cruise because that really didn't count). Tried a new spot here in Louisville, and we were not disappointed! Good mimosas (not bottomless, but only $5 a glass), the Fried green tomatoes were pretty good (too much greenery for the presentation, but still good nonetheless). Chicken and French Toast, and Shrimp & Grit cakes. Our server, Ashley, was exceptional! She made the experience super pleasant. Very cozy set up, with the music at a respectable level to enjoy it, but also enjoy conversations as well. If you're in town, this is definitely a good spot to add to your "Restaurants to Try" list.

Had a really great meal here. Visiting in town and recommended by the owner of our bed and breakfast. Glad we chose it. Had an extensive wine list. Handful of beers on tap. Nice cocktails. My wife liked the Peach Pit. Very summery. Had a great patio, but unfortunately was much too hot for them to open it. We had the short ribs and sirloin. Both were large and prepared well. We saved room for the peanut butter pie. It was worth wait as well. Don't miss it.

I called ahead to let them know we would come in with a stroller, and they made sure to sit us in an area where the stroller was not in the way of servers or other guests. Our server was one of the most attentive people I have ever met, and every recommendation they gave was fantastic. We started with the oyster rockefellar and the spicy tuna tartare. The oysters were massive and the tuna dish was so good, we got it a second time later in the weekend. We all got steaks for our mains and added a lobster tail - there was a mix up with the lobster tail taking a bit and they ended up bringing out the largest lobster tail to make up for it. All steaks, their sides, and sauces were fantastic- better than most I have had in the DC area. The food was all rich so under order or share amongst friends. Cocktails were of course fantastic, from espresso martinis to the famous smoked old fashions. We had drinks at the bar another night and the service was just as good, though they did tell us that they didn't serve the drink in a smoke box when we certainly had one just a night before.

The filet was excellent, and while I'm not usually a mushroom person, these were truly outstanding. The bread was also some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered one of the mocktails, which I enjoyed because it wasn't overly sweet. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Our waiter was efficient, but he wasn't particularly friendly, and the entire meal felt rushed. Several times, someone tried to clear my plate while I was still eating. We also had to ask for more time more than once before ordering because we felt pressured to make decisions quickly. With a bill of over $300, I expected a more relaxed dining experience where we could enjoy the evening at our own pace.

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I spent most of the afternoon on a bourbon tour and a post-tour distillery so...food was needed. And quickly. In our mild defense, we didn't really know how the day was going to go or when we were actually going to have dinner, which made it a little tougher to pre-plan, but no research went into this at all and we paid for it. We wrapped up our bourbon adventures at the Angel's Envy distillery probably five or six blocks from here. Instead of being grownups and doing at least a quick/impromptu recon for spots, we literally just walked outside and down W Main St until we hit something. And we hit this, which was right on the edge of the main tourist area, pretty much Louisville's equivalent of the Times Square/MSG area. And as someone who works and used to live in NYC, you'd have to do a lot of convincing to get me to eat in that particular area - it's overpriced and the food/service just tends to not be very good, which makes you wonder what the appeal is for tourists beyond the convenience. But regardless, it's always struck me as an odd way for a tourism spot to put its best foot forward (or not). Doc Crow's is enormous, and when we were brought further into the restaurant to our table, I think we literally walked through three or four large rooms and navigated through multiple passageways. If you told me this place took up an entire city block or close to it, I'd believe you. Beyond the size/scope, there's nothing really distinctive that separates it from the myriad of other restaurants you'd expect to see catering to out-of-towners. It was the Friday evening of Memorial Day Weekend, so a place that I suspect is usually pretty busy was even busier and louder than that. Maybe not the greatest recipe after a bourbon tour, but who can say. On the app front, we got the Crispy Salmon Bites, which were fine. Not an item I typically see on a menu, even one with more of a seafood bent. I thought the cornmeal/panko breading was the right call; I'm a big catfish aficionado, so I'm of the opinion that cornmeal is underutilized, at least in the Northeast where I come from. Otherwise, nothing really mind-blowing there; probably would have made sense for it to be a different type of fish given the prep (I think salmon is best raw in a sushi roll or grilled), but it could have been worse. I don't think a ton of thought went into this on my end, but I went with the full rack BBQ ribs, along with a side of mac n' cheese. Again, okay, though not as flavorful as I would have hoped and I thought the ribs were on the dry side. Not their fault, but I always regret getting the full rack in hindsight because ribs have a deceptively significant amount of meat on the bones and a half rack is a very decent portion by itself; I am a work in progress just like everyone else. The mac n' cheese was also pretty dry, which I think you can see pretty obviously in the accompanying picture. Tasted and felt reheated at least once or twice. The service was pretty efficient given how busy it was, but our waiter was just on robotic autopilot. Not remotely personable and everything I said to him was responded to with, "For sure, for sure." Maybe he was having a rough night to start the holiday weekend, but it felt like he was just going through the motions and just checking off some boxes there. I went into this already predisposed to not like the generic tourist trap places, so grain of salt. But my recommendation if you have the time/bandwidth (now that I'm a cagey Louisville vet) is to bypass this area if you can and find something tastier and more interesting in the Highlands neighborhood. That's where the real ones are.

It's on the pricier side but if you come hungry, I'd say it's well worth it for the amount you can eat and the quality. You begin with the AYCE salad bar, which has a wide range of olives, cheeses, salad toppings, smoked salmon, and even a delightful cold apple salad and potato salad. When we were seated, hot dishes came quickly. I loved all the sides - fried polenta, fried banana, mashed potatoes and cheese bread. You could request a few additional side items complimentary. I tried the fried yucca and was glad I did. Now, the MEAT! Once you turn your card to green, be ready! There was a constant flow of Gaucho chefs with the different varieties of meat. They were very attentive asking preference on cuts. When I was getting full, I wanted just one last piece of picanha. Not one, not two, but three Gaucho chefs stopped by within approximately one minute asking if there was a particular cut I would like while the first chef had gone back to the kitchen. The service was incredible.

Salad area - very clean, well stocked with plenty of choices- lettice, mixed greens, veggies, cheese and dressings. Caesar dressing is my favorite- pepper in flavor and not too much anchovy paste- which is great. Freah mozzarella balls were delicious- cold, pull apart and full of great textured bites. Steaks were under seasoned and required salt to enhance the flavors. Favorite was bacon wrapped filet- most was overcooked but on ocxasion I got to snag a medium cooked bite. Chicken- my favorite, asked a few times - took an hour to get chicken breast- which was moist and had hints of garlic and parmesan. Only was able to get 2 pieces- which was a disappointment. Cinnamon grilled pineapple- such a great addtion- full of cinnaomon and citrus in every bite and was a great palate cleanser.

We found nearby street parking and came right at our reservation time and were told our table wasn't ready, so we walked around outside and were able to get seated about 10 minutes later. The space is super nice and trendy, feels small but cozy, dimly lit, and trendy. Loved the lights and indoor plant vibe. Our server was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. Overall, we thought the branzino was the highlight by far, it had excellent flavor and texture. Although on the pricier side, it was nicely done, flavorful, and had good texture. The cauliflower wasn't anything crazy, but we thought we'd try it since we saw lots of reviews about it. Probably would try something different next time though. We enjoyed the hummus and pita. The rice that came with the branzino was flavorful, but not my favorite. Had a really strong sweet herb flavors that I didn't love, but maybe that's just my preference. Overall thought it was a nice experience! Big portions so we took a lot to go as well. Definitely a bit on the pricier side and didn't feel totally blown away (maybe had too high expectations from all the hype and booked out reservations), but overall good quality meal and nice for a special occasion. Would be down to come again to try other dishes!

This was the best experience and these two gentlemen made sure of it. The drinks Brian made for us were top notch and some of the best I've ever had. I had the Chamomile Fields Old Fashion and my husband had the Smoked Ok'd Fashion and the New York Sour. All of them outstanding! We felt at home, Brian and Teddy made the whole night special. We did some bourbon tasting and went home with a few extra bottles. The ambience was a perfect ending for our trip with its warm, intimate setting.

There were many seats at the bar as well as couch and chair areas. They also have bathrooms down there. Service was outstanding. We had a bourbon flight and some cocktails. Our server even took group pics for us. He also provided menus so we could be prepared for dinner. When our table was ready, we reconciled our check and headed back upstairs. Upstairs, we had amazing service also. I ordered a cocktail that they had on the downstairs menu, and not the regular menu. It did not faze our server. He said he would figure it out- and he did! After a round of drinks, we stayed with appetizers: meatballs, fritto misto, piatto di frutti di mare and the crab cake. Everything was devoured. I loved the crab cake and the meatballs. The fried calamari was pretty standard and the cold seafood platter was fine- I had an oyster off of it. For dinner, I had the "Pappardelle" : short rib ragu alla bolognese, grano padano, and added two seared scallops. Wow. The pasta is homemade. It was phenomenal. My husband had the "Maiale" : 16oz pork chop, cauliflower puree, chard, stone fruit, bourbon glaze. It was a large portion and cooked perfectly. So good. Our friends had steaks and sides, so I was able to try the Mac and cheese- which did not get congealed! The corn was delicious and the mushrooms were a variety. Of course we had dessert. I asked for cannoli and they had it! They weee not soggy. I had three different favors. I love cannoli. These were really good. We also shared the millionaire's tart and some sort of apple crumble with ice cream. Yum. We had more round of drinks throughout including some fun ones - see the treasure chest video. I would recommend this place. They have a great menu. Drinks were awesome. Service topped everything. They went out of their way for us multiple times. Thanks so much. We can't wait to come back again.

We were leaving for the second leg of our trip and were running late, as usual. We decided to run across the street for a sit down lunch, what's another hour? Two smiling faces greeted us at the door. They offered a high top but my hip was absolutely not digging it nor a table up the flight of steep stairs. Once seated, we were greeted promptly and had water in front of us almost immediately. We each ordered soup and then a sandwich to share. I had the Sopa de Pollo . A hot bowl thick with thin noodles and lots of chunks of chicken. The chunks were too big to eat without being cut up which was a challenge in a bowl of broth. It was so hot that I had to wait a while to try it and even then had to blow on it. It was delicious. Unless the soup is your meal, order a cup. I still took nearly a pint of soup back with me. My husband ordered the Frijole Negro - a huge bowl of black beans that was served with a large pile of raw onions on top. Like the chicken soup, it was burn your mouth hot and a very large serving. He said it was good but he'd not order it again. Moving on to the sandwich. We had the Cubano. I'm not even going to describe it - just trust me - order the Cubano. Do not look at the rest of the menu - order the Cubano. Don't even bother looking at the ingredients, just order the Cubano. Have you ordered it yet? Do it already. The Cubano is huge. We split one half and had the other when we arrived at our next stop. Do consider that we had soup first; otherwise, we'd have eaten the whole thing. The accompanying plantain chips were worthy of their own review. They were wonderful. Who knows if and when we'll be back to Louisville but when we are, La Bodeguita will be the first place we stop. BTW, have you ordered the Cubano yet? What are you waiting for? Put your phone done and order it! Enjoy!!
