The family (4 adults and 2 kids) went here for brunch on Palm Sunday. We had reservations but probably wouln't have needed them as the restaurant wasn't crowded. Our server was excellent and very attentive without being intrusive. I had the Crab Benedict which was delicous. My wife had Mesh's take on a Hot Brown and was also very pleased with her choice. My DIL also had the Crab Benedict and I don't remember what my son ordered but both were pleased with their meals. Even the grandkids were happy with their selections from the kid's menu. My wife & I recently had brunch at Mesh in Louisville. Food was good as usual Service was a little slow, my wife was really frustrated with the length of time it took to get someone's attention to get more water. Probably 5 or 6 minutes & they were not busy. Wouldn't substitute like I asked them to when I ordered but I guess they are more concerned with their policies than their customers satisfaction. I'm sure we will return but we're in no hurry to return. Not even going to mention how much I dislike that little gizmo they stick your credit in and then hand it back to while they stand right beside you and watch the percent of tip you are giving them. read more

Mesh was great! Such a beautiful interior coupled with nice, subtle lighting that makes for a really romantic atmosphere. Salmon dip was very creamy I tried to not eat as much to save room for my entree and ultimately failed. Pad Thai was such a well balanced flavor. I'm a big Pad Thai girl and my number one fault with the dish is that the noodle to veggie ratio is off! Either not enough sauce, veggies, or noodles, but at Mesh there were PLENTY of noodles, veggies, and sauce. It all tasted wonderfully together as well. My partner ordered the salmon and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The orzo blend on the side had a touch of onion and such a bright flavor. The service was prompt and kind. I had a later reservation so the place was a bit slow and I noticed a lot of camaraderie between the employees, it was sweet. Genuinely no complaints on the food, drinks, ambiance, service, and logistics of scheduling a reservation. 4 stars instead of 5 because the food was great but not fantastic and I reserve 5 stars for food that immensely impresses! We went for dinner here last night and had a very good experience. It had been a few years but all is still good. I liked that the decor absorbed most of the sound from conversations. We stared with the fried green tomatoes. Still the best in Louisville. My wife had the shrimp and grits. 4 shrimp. Overhead management. My salmon was tasty. The broccolini was a tad undercooked. I recently took my dad to Mesh to grab brunch on his birthday. No one there ultimately acknowledged his birthday, but to be fair, I didn't go out of my way to remind them about it once we arrived. I was a little bummed at the options on the menu: I had previously found a Mesh brunch menu online which featured a number of exciting dishes listed... but it turns out that those are only offered on the weekend. So their weekday brunch options were a bit limited by comparison and the seafood benedict I was looking forward to wasn't available. We grabbed the fried green tomatos as an appetizer. They arrived buried beneath a Mount Everest of greens. On one hand, that made for a novel presentation. On the other hand, it felt like a strategic compensation for the fact that the tomatos themselves were very small. There were five of them, at least - so this somewhat compensated. We agreed that they were decent, but that doesn't say much. Fried green tomatos are like margaritas: even when done poorly, they're usually still enjoyable! Fortunately, these were not done poorly. They were solid: 3 stars. My dad loves hot browns and ordered one. I elected to go with a short rib grilled cheese. My dad said the hot brown was middle of the road: good, not notable. I felt the same way about my dish, but I must say that I think it's close to being a fantastic sandwich. The portion on the short rib grilled cheese was excellent. It was heavy and hearty. On the downside, the bread was very saturated, mostly with butter. This detracted from the crispiness I typically hope for with any grilled cheese. Secondarily, the sandwich would greatly benefit from a stronger sweet componenet. I believe it claims to have a tomato jam on it - great decision - but either this was too sparse or else not flavorful enough. I didn't detect the sweetness, which would no doubt have offset the savory, salty notes in a beautiful way. I really think this sandwich has five-star potential if accorded these two adjustments. Service was attentive. The ambiance was perhaps generic for a fine dining spot, but the whole place was pleasant and clean. I'll gladly eat in a barn if the food is good, so unless I'm on a date, I don't particularly prioritize the atmosphere. Ultimately, Mesh was meh. Meh-sh! Haha. read more

Regularly head to Mesh for a nice bite. It's kid friendly, with a variety of options off the kids menu to keep it fresh. At the same time, it's a bit more upscale than more casual restaurants. The patio is lovely on nicer evenings. Have enjoyed both the burger and shrimp and grits entrees. The burger is one of the better in Louisville. Honestly wasn't sure what to expect from the experience. We did come in with a large party of 12 that was scheduled in advance. Service was efficient, my wife and I enjoyed the drinks and the apps. We arrived for brunch. You don't want to go in basketball shorts but no need to go get fancied all the way up. The biscuits, and the spinach dip were great appetizers. I'd recommend asking them to sub the white cheddar grits out for the grit cakes in the shrimp and grits meal. Cocktails were also pretty good. Food is very good and high quality, though I never leave thinking "I've got to come back and get this again." While prices are high, I'd consider them reasonable for what you get. We took my mom to Mesh for her birthday tonight not knowing at all what to expect. First of all, the place is gorgeous. Moody, good lighting, cozy, and modern. We had a bit of a wait and weren't sat until 20 min after our reservation time, but the manager came over and graciously apologized and sent us a free starter of the Blue Dog bread, which was crusty and fabulous. For drinks, we all had iced tea and a couple of cocktails. The Old Fashioned came out strong, made very well with our choice of bourbon (Old Forrester 100 proof), and the Paddington Pear vodka cocktail was tangy and tart, super good. All three of us ordered from the surf side of the menu; we had the shrimp and grits, the crab cakes, and the scallops. Every single dish was phenomenal, we were all eating bites off each other's plates to try everything. The plating and the accompaniment vegetables with every dish was remarkable. To quote my mom, "These scallops are like sugar, come to Mama!" We also did the fried green tomato app and the white chocolate cherry bread pudding for dessert. My word!! Good mimosas (not bottomless, but only $5 a glass), the Fried green tomatoes were pretty good (too much greenery for the presentation, but still good nonetheless). Chicken and French Toast, and Shrimp & Grit cakes. Our server, Ashley, was exceptional! She made the experience super pleasant. Very cozy set up, with the music at a respectable level to enjoy it, but also enjoy conversations as well. Our entrees were the scallops which were delicious, NY strip which was also amazing, and got the pad Thai with chicken. I do not recommend getting the chicken with it. As we were enjoying our meal at Mesh we were abruptly told to move to the bar area since we had exceeded our time at the dinner table (less than 45 mins). It was shocking, surprising, confusing. There was no indication of the timed dinner we were expected to have and also the delivery of the message could have been much better vs a room wide announcement by a man with a loud voice. I don't think I've written such a review before, but I'm truly confused about what must have transpired and why there was no clarity if they were not going to allow us to truly enjoy plus finish our meal. Our server Justin/Jason was equally dismissive and rude all throughout. A very confusing customer service experience, although of course their food is good. It's been a while since I've been back at Mesh! The last time I came was for brunch on a Sunday and they were fairly new. We had sat outdoors and it was really pretty out there! This time, my sister suggested it for Sunday brunch since she really liked the food during restaurant week. We didn't have a reservation but they seated us right away! Didn't seem to be all that busy. Lots of tables and bar seating were still open. We sat inside though as patio seating was already full. For our starter, we ordered the calamari and the biscuits with jam. Delicious! The calamari came on such a large plate! And the biscuits were fluffy but not heavy. I also got sweet tea while my sister tried their hot coffee. The tea isn't all that sweet which wasn't bad! For food, I got something from the appetizer menu, the smoked salmon dip. It came with baguette and mustard. It was very filling! So tasty! My family got the vegetarian omelet, the salmon Benedict, and the mesh salad with chicken. We all loved the food! Mesh is consistently reliable for a delicious dinner. My friends and I have enjoyed it several times over the last few years, most recently a couple of weeks ago. I met my best friend for a last-minute drink and dinner. Mesh was busy, but we were able to easily get a couple of seats at the bar. (But if you want a table, I definitely encourage you to get a reservation.) And among several things that Mesh does well: the cocktails and the salads. I started with a Sparkling Apple, which is made with Woodford Reserve, St. George Spiced Pear, apple cider, lemon and Bouvet Rose. I like that this had the spice of bourbon with some sweeter parts as well. The Old Timer is also a great drink option. And the salad. I'm not big on salads, though I enjoy them from time to time. And Mesh is a place that I definitely go green at. In particular, I like the Brussels Salad, with butternut squash, dried cranberry, bacon, goat cheese, brown butter and apple cider vinaigrette. Most recently I also got it with chicken. This is a meal in a bowl. Mesh's vibe is a bit upscale but still comfortable. You can find folks on dates alongside others in jeans and sweatshirts (that was me, I'm "others"). The staff has always been efficient and hospitable. An all-around great place to go. read more
