I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience earned one. James came out to diagnose our refrigerator's ice maker and was very confident he knew the problem. We approved the repair he recommended and paid for the replacement part and labor. Four days later, the ice maker still wasn't working. When I called expecting additional troubleshooting or a plan to determine the actual problem, the conversation quickly shifted to offering a partial refund on the part and suggesting we find someone else. That was surprising considering how certain he had been during the original diagnosis. What stood out throughout the experience was a level of condescension that made communication difficult. My wife witnessed him speaking to one of his own employees in a way that was genuinely uncomfortable to watch, and unfortunately that same attitude carried over into our interactions. Nobody expects a technician to be right 100% of the time. What customers do expect is professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to stand behind the diagnosis when the first repair doesn't solve the problem. My recommendation: if you hire this company, do not consider the job complete until the appliance is actually working. Replacing a part and fixing a problem are not always the same thing. read more

Our LG Dryer was making an awful noise and the rollers were clearly the problem. Our clothes have hair from our dogs and we wash towels from a hair salon, so it had seized up the rollers. One of the other appliance repair companies had me go through two automated prompts and then to an AI system. That was a non starter, so I found Barclays. They came out when scheduled on the weekend and quickly took it apart and repaired it on site at the quoted estimated cost. They showed at 11:05 and fixed my dryer in about 30 minutes which included vacuuming the entire interior of the appliance. He charged me $130 which was a bargain in my book. Came right out the same day. Was very professional. Looked at my LG refrigerator. Diagnosed it. Needed a new compressor. He said that compressors aren't really replaced and the actual fix is to purchase a new refrigerator. So, if I'm being honest I should withhold 0.5 to 1 stars for not being able to fix it, but I don't know if there is ANYONE out there who would actually do the service. Had an ice maker quit working, (apparently Samsung is famous for this) two trips as I wanted to see if the cleaning out of my ice maker and cleaning out vents, would get ice maker working. I called and spoke with the owner, Jamis, expecting to make a refrigerator repair appointment. He asked a couple of questions and determined that the repair of my older apartment size fridge would likely cost nearly as much as replacing it, IF he was right about his guess. It could wind up being much more if his guess turned out wrong once he got to see it. He was more than willing to come out and look at it. I determined that paying a house call fee & fixing a fridge I could replace new for $400 probably wasn't the best move so I just replaced it. The first time (in February) it took a total of 3 weeks to get it fixed using Hudson's. This time we went with Sears and after waiting 3 weeks for our appointment date they cancelled the morning of (seriously?!) and rescheduled for another 2 weeks later (5 weeks just to get a diagnosis.) Out of frustration and based on a recommendation we called Barclay's. WOW! Because it is older, they were unable to find the parts to fix the equipment. Although it was no fault of theirs, they refused to charge us anything for the service call. Barclay's appliance came out and replaced two burners in our range because we were having trouble with an electrical burning smell. 45 days later, one of the burners they replaced emitted a burning smell and quit working. I called Barlays and they say that I would have to pay another $90 for a half hour service call, plus parts, and plus additional fees if it goes beyond a half hour. Barcleys does not stand behind their work and their attitude is that they are so slammed with business that it doesn't matter. read more

Well the got it right. They said it has to be the motor, so I told them order it, once it arrived they showed up the following day. And in a matter of 20 minutes he had it repaired and running like the day we purchased it!
