The drinks downstairs were supper yummy if a little pricey. It can be a hard to commit to a try something different when a single drink is going to run you $17, but the servers were super helpful and accommodating! Then upstairs was fun (though the music was a bit loud) and tacos from the truck were a great way to wrap up the night! The parking situation was really the only draw back of this place. Any of the nearby lots are going to run you at least $30 for only 2 hours. You might get lucky finding street parking in the neighborhood to the west but if you are not with a group of people it can be a sketchy walk by yourself at night.

Let's paint and sip!! Tequilllllla Tequillllla... where have you been all of my life!! Service: We started the adventure with a greeting from David one of the owners. He is super friendly guy with a great attitude and a bright smile. Reminds me of southern hospitality! Our group was super large so some of us did the tasting first and others painted. We painted first. And we didn't paint dry... nope nope. Margaritas for all! And it was a good one at that. Painting: It was a super cute set up and we had free reign to paint whatever we wanted. Additionally the story behind the small Calabash and how they are used in the Tequila making process. Once we finished painting, we had a few lite bites and proceeded to the Tequila tasting. In the tasting, we tasted Blanco Tequila, Reposado Tequila, Anejo, Mezcal, Sotol and Wild Card. My favorites of the 6 are the Sotol and Wild Card. After the tasting, we collected our artwork and headed out. Parking: Because we were in a large group I didn't pay attention specifically to the parking. But we did pass through an empty lot that had a pay QR Code on it. I assume that that place would be ideal. Ambiance: This place is cool. From the outdoor to the lounge downstairs. If you are hip and happening in AZ, you should be here. Its giving, first and next date vibes. Downstairs is cozy and upstairs has a hall that would be perfect for a reception. To conclude, what an amazing experience. .it would be a great girls night, date night, group thing, etc. The experience was fun and the drinks didn't hurt. I would do it again!

Look at these gorgeous drinks! This was a light and very refreshing drink that was made with a mezcal gin! Who would have ever known!

Met some business associates here on a Tuesday evening. We were seated in the "basement" in a private room which was very nice. The women working behind the bar came to take our orders and WOW are they knowledgeable. I've never heard so much interesting stuff about tequila and mezcal and all the other amazing ingredients they make drinks with here. Extremely impressed and totally wowed by with the knowledge they have about every single drink! I will be back!

I've been to Barcoa Agaveria twice. The first time was on a Saturday afternoon for Urban Wine Walk. The second was on a Friday evening. I Ubered both times. This Mexican bar is located downtown close to Roosevelt Row. Ambiance (4/5): Upstairs, you'll find a bar with some seating as well as an outdoor patio. However, the best spot to be is downstairs. The vibes there are amazing with the dim lights and decor. I didn't even know there was a downstairs bar until my second visit. Don't miss it! Service (4/5): Solid service on both visits. Not exceptional but efficient. Food (N/A): They have a Mexican food truck outside. During Urban Wine Walk, I had some fish ceviche from the truck. However, since the sample size is so small, I feel like I need a full meal to properly comment on the food. Drinks (3.5/5): One of the cool things about Barcoa is that the drink menu is different upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs, some of the highlights include a giant margarita and basura (Spanish for trash---a cocktail served in a plastic bag lol). As you would expect, a lot of the cocktails focus on margarita and mezcal. They also have a selection of Mexican beers. Downstairs, you'll find an emphasis on craft cocktails. It's an interesting menu and I enjoyed trying a couple of their offerings. The unfortunate part? Some portions of each cocktail are pre-made. That takes away from the artistry, and ultimately, the flavor. Despite the short cut with the cocktails, I'm still a fan of Barcoa. Especially downstairs.

Some friends brought me here for a birthday celebration. Barcoa Agaveria is located near the Roosevelt Row Arts District. Just look for the neon BAR sign or the bike on the outdoor patio roof if you can't find it. Being a Mezcal lover, I have been wanting to check this place out for some time. Barcoa Agaveria has a nice selection of Mexican spirits like tequila, raicilla, sotol, mezcal and bacanora. The cocktails on the menu are very creative and unique. The ambiance here is just as fun as the drinks. Barcoa Agaveria is a two-level cocktail bar. The top level is pretty cool, but the lower level is where it is at. We booked a space down below and had a nice server wait on us. The basement is dark, artsy and pays homage to Mexican culture. I really dig the vibe here. I had a hard time deciding on what drink to order because the menu had such a large selection of margarita and mezcal drinks. After getting a round of bday shots, I ordered the Elote Moda cocktail. My buddy got the Leche de Pistachio. The drinks were smooth and delicious. I recommend taking some time to explore Barcoa Agaveria. There is some fun decor and beautiful artwork on the walls. The top level is designed to be like a classic cantina. The front outside patio is pretty chill and has some colorful tables and chairs. For food, they occasionally partner with local food trucks. Barcoa Agaveria made USA Today's top bars of 2024 list. Well deserved!

had an awesome experience here celebrating mine and my brother's birthday! we had a reservation for 12 for the basement; when we arrived we got sat quickly, and service was extremely friendly and quick!! the cocktail menu had plenty of drinks to choose from, and everybody really enjoyed what they got. i got the aloe y fresa refresco and it was refreshing, light, and fruity. their basement is a gorgeous area, darker and more moody than their upstairs (both great in their own ways).

What a treat to hangout here. I went with my sister to checkout a Mezcal tasting and fell in love with this place. What makes this a super cool place? There is a bar on the first floor and in the basement. First floor bar is brightly lit with a pretty chill and casual vibe. The basement bar is more cozy and intimate with dim lighting. The bartenders and hostess were super cool and friendly. There is a huge patio for outdoor seating and a delicious taco truck - Provecho, to satisfy your hunger. The food pairs well with the various tequila cocktails. Happy Hour menu at the bar upstairs is full of fun drinks with the best prices. The drink options at the basement bar are a little more fancier and pricier. Before the Mezcal tasting, I tried the Mezcalrita off the happy hour menu and it was so delicious. Parking is a pretty penny so we found parking within the neighborhood. Great place with all sorts of fun happenings daily.

Cute little place! Parking was a challenge- we didn't realize there was a lot down the alleyway, so we ended up paying a lot for parking. The upstairs was all that was open at 3pm, but we enjoyed the tequila and mezcal drinks! The mezcalrita and mezcal mule were my favorite, and my husband loved the Paloma! Would love to go back and experience the downstairs area. Unfortunately, no food was available at the time we were there.

I have wanted to try this spot for awhile and finally made it in.. This place has a nice outdoor patio and food truck close by. People were playing Lotteria on the patio. The inside is really cool with an upper and lower level. The downstairs bar has a dark and loungey vibe. The upstairs has cool decor, and I love the Mexican cabinetry... Used for the bar. My friend was running late, so I ordered guacamole and chips to munch on while I was waiting. The bartendress was really nice and attentive. I had a Paloma, actually three, but who's counting??? My friend ordered a vodka tonic... boring . I would definitely go back. I loved the vibe and the service was outstanding!

This place was really fun. Dark atmosphere with fun lighting and decor. We had a reservation around 5 but it seemed like there was plenty of seating available. Staff were all nice and knowledgeable about the drinks. We ordered four cocktails. -Rosemary's Ofrenda was nice and refreshing. -Leche De Pistacho was my favorite. It's very unique and I would order this every time. -Ellas Caminaron En Fila this was great. -Papel Picado was really interesting with the matcha and gin.

I'm a big fan! Love the dark downstairs bar with a fab cocktail menu. The Papel Picado is smooth, well-balanced, delish. Served with a crystal clear cube stamped with an agave plant. I also really like the Como Se Dice Negroni. Staff is really friendly and, though there are no non-alcoholic drinks on the menu, they are happy to make one if you ask. They just started a beginner Spanish class on Wednesday nights- really fun with a friendly group, perfect if you are a true beginner. Recommend!

We made reservations at the bar downstairs, and it has a very cool vibe, and it sets the mood. They also have a private room for tequila, tastings. The staff is super friendly downstairs, and the drinks are well-made. Towards the middle of the night. We made our way upstairs They had different drinks upstairs, and I absolutely love the Mexican sangria. They have live music and food vendors out in the front of the bar. The only issue I had was that. I ordered a cantarito and we were never told that we had to bring it back up to the bar at the end of the night so we wouldn't get charged for it, so we were scrambling around trying to find it.

The space is cozy and full of character, though the limited basement footprint means it's not the most intimate setting if you're looking for a quiet, private dinner. The lamb lollipops were perfectly prepared and packed with flavor, the potato and artichoke dish was a delicious and unexpected standout, and both the veal and Wagyu carpaccio were excellent. He then confirmed we were still within the happy hour window and offered to bring us a menu. They used to have an extensive happy hour menu featuring several drinks and food items and now their "happy hour menu" consists of a cheeseburger for $22. Not sure that that really constitutes as a happy hour menu... I asked him why they changed the menu and he put up his hands as if to say he's not to blame and said he doesn't have anything to do with those decisions. He said that "management decided to make a few substitutions but they're pretty good" and didn't provide any further elaboration. I ordered the appetizer lamb lollipops which had four small pieces for $25. My friend decided to try the "happy hour" cheeseburger and he said it was good but it did appear a bit overpriced for an average burger with a pretty hefty serving of french fries. I really wasn't impressed by the quality of the food, the portion size, the price, or the service. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.

Mine was wrong so it had to be sent back and the chicken had to be added to my salad-which took like 20 minutes. Our entire experience create us to be an hour late to the concert next-door. We were very comfortably dressed, and no one looked sideways at us, but there were definitely people dressed to the nines! There was a party of women next to us, that were celebrating a birthday. We obliged them by taking their pictures all over the instagramable bar. Ryan was our waiter, and he is tops. Made some really good recommendations and was welcoming and attentive. I was just there for the drinks and enjoyed a lovely glass (or two) of wine, but my friends were feeling more adventurous and ordered some of their inventive cocktails. Including a couple of "Shot in the Dark" which could be ANYTHING. Also a burger was ordered and then brought up repeatedly for the next two days. According to him, it was possibly the best burger he had ever had. His face lit up at first bite. The menu is a mishmash of interesting options and the whole experience was not what we anticipated. In the best way.

The vibe is intimate and the staff was amazing. The food was good; my wagyu was cooked nicely but my wife's was a bit overdone. The peanuts pack some heat so they were a bit too spicy. This is a cool date night experience and you get wings, like the old days.

My partner and I RSVP'd for a Thursday 7:30pm flight from NYC to Tokyo. Per our email, we were instructed to arrive about 15 minutes early to pick up our flight tickets from the downtown restaurant Wren & Wolf. Spoiler alert: Carry On is a speakeasy attached to the back of the restaurant. After picking up your ticket, you walk around the corner to the large orange "plane" door, which opened punctually at 7:30pm to start our experience. We gave our flight attendants (the staff was indeed wearing flight attendant uniforms) our tickets at the front desk, and were given free Carry On pins before being escorted to our table. Despite being a Thursday evening There were overhead announcements and even windows playing animations emulating a real flight experience from take-off to landing! The interior is gorgeous, from the furnishings to the lighting. Craftily, there are many mirrors inside to create the illusion of a larger space. The menu emulated an in-flight menu, with food and drinks based on the trip's theme! We ordered an additional drink each and an onion dip that were all creatively crafted and delicious! All in all, Carry On is the perfect date night or girl's night experience. While it might not be in most people's price range for a casual night out, it is definitely worth trying for a special occasion if possible. I would love to go back and am looking forward to the next destination's theme!
