Unreliable. Irresponsible. I made an appointment ~3 WEEKS IN ADVANCE. On the day of the service I called to see where they were and when they would get to me. They assured me I was on the list and would be contacted as soon as the service rep was on the way. Shortly before 6pm they called and said the service rep could not come. They rescheduled me for two days later, 8am. They called at 7:55am on the rescheduled day to cancel. Called comfort solutions and they came within 2 hrs to service 2 furnaces and a heat pump. read more

Our sewer line leading to the street was clogged. We called Bardi late Saturday afternoon. They said they had several calls in front of us but the tech made it to the house about 7:30. He worked in the heat in our stifling garage until he finally cleared the clog at almost 10pm. Thank you Bardi. The best sort of trade service I've ever had. read more

Was almost rear ended three times this morning on Indian Trail because the driver was driving insanely and tailgating horribly, swerving in and out of lanes. Do not suggest their service. My wife and I paid for the " friends of Bardi " service package. it's been some months ago. I failed to make note of the tech's name but I think of that young white male often. My wife and I are black. Our bathtub would not drain so we called Bardi. While the tech was in our home reviewing the problem he boldly asked my wife and I do we piss in the bathtub. He said urine can cause blockage. I play Chess so I did not show that young white man how angry he just made this 59 years old man. I just calmly told him "no" we are to old to use the bathtub to piss in especially since there is a toilet right there. He fix the problem and left. To this day I wish I had handled it differently and tore that young man a new a$$hole. read more

Price Gouge!! My experience with Bardi was not good at all!!! They texted several times to say they would arrive at 8 am but when I called at 8:20 I was informed that there was a staff meeting so the tech would be late. At 9:35 when he arrived he spent a lot of time explaining their service plans that cost as much as $3000! They wanted to charge me $1400 for a refill of Freeon. June 8, 2023 tech came out for system tune up. Needless to say, we paid $567 for coil wash & drain flush, another $217 for the FOB maintenance plan. Had to call to get invoice of service/payment, still did not get it until June 28th. Last 2 weeks it's been unusually warm upstairs, I attributed to the temp outside, until that $512 power bill arrived. Immediately texted, they set appt for this morning 8am, tech arrived about 11am, he was professional and advised he would've done the work but not charged because the evaporator coil is cracked and system leaking. $10,873 to replace furnace & one outside unit. Called for 2nd opinion, unit had no coolant. This Lennox unit is horrible at best, but price gauging your customer is no way to have repeat business. So either way we will spend about 10k, but Bardi 10yr parts warranty 1 yr labor, the other 10 yr parts and labor....I'm done! read more

While installing a new washing machine, I accidentally broke the cold-water line (T-PVC pipe in the wall snapped in half). I called Bardi since they were close-by and had good reviews, and they scheduled me for the following morning. The technician was very polite and professional, but when he was replacing the short section of pipe that I broke, he managed to break the pipe several more times. The original break was just beneath the faucet, but he somehow broke the pipe in 4 more places, including four 90-degree fittings and five pipe sections. The original quote he gave me on arrival and inspection was for $600, which I thought was high, but I agreed. When he finally finished the job, and told me that he broke the pipe in four additional places (he admitted to this, at least, and didn't try to claim it was already broken in five places) the total bill was almost $1900. My home is 22 years old, and I understand that T-PVC pipe does get fragile over time, but I think it's just careless to somehow cause an additional four breakages (both above and below where the pipe passes into the basement) and I think it's highly unprofessional that I was charged almost $1900 for a job that was estimated at $600. The Bardi technician also gave my number (without getting my permission first) to a Restoration company who then called and wanted to come inspect for any water damage, and offer their services. While I appreciate the thought, it's again very unprofessional to just give out my mobile number without asking me first. read more

Bardi installed two new Lennox furnaces and air conditioning systems for me in 2015. Have had a service/maintenance contract with them since then - until I discontinued it in January 2021. One bad experience after another - last straw was when they tried to charge me $500 for a repair that should have been covered under warranty. After I (fortunately) figured that out myself, they refunded my money - but still charged me a $100 "re-stocking fee". Their pricing is ridiculously high - so much so that their repair guys are sheepish about what the company charges. By discontinuing my service contract, I will now be responsible for labor on any other fixes for the remaining 4 years of my 10 year warranty . . . but it is worth it because these guys are price gougers . . and really sock it to less knowledgeable consumers. My issue is that EVERY TIME Bardi comes to service my unit it ends up not working a short time later. I do not trust their workmanship. Nothing is this coincidental. It seems to me they are just tearing up the units to get more money. I am so frustrated and irritated! And to add insult to injury, the last tech did not wear gloves or booties and initially did not have a mask on. Coronavirus is serious and techs should act as though it is. They returned to check the system and there was a residual issue based on the previous service call. The issue was fixed and resolved at no additional costs. read more

Wished I had read reviews before calling them. $615 for a $40 dollar capacitor. Really? I should have purchased capacitor on line but wanted it done that day. To charge that much for such a cheap part is just down right dishonest. Capacitor had a couple of burnt wires that needed stripping and terminal replaced. A three minute job at most but he tried to make a big deal out of it. Because my ac unit was older, he was hoping capacitor wouldn't work and that company would sell me a new unit. I could see the disappointment on his face when the unit started to cool. $615 to replace a $40 capacitor. They wouldn't quote me a price for ac only, the quote was for a heating/ac unit combined. I kept telling them the furnace was in top notch condition. Family owned doesn't mean honest. I learned that after using Elliot's septic repair. When I replace unit, I will purchase on line for $1800 and hire local tech to install. But, it won't be a tech from bardi. These guys don't seem knowledgeable. I regret that I can't rate Bardi a negative 1. Last week I took the afternoon off to meet the plumber. The appointment was between 1 and 6. I got a call late in the afternoon that they need to reschedule. OK, things happen. I reschedule. I spoke to Bardi the day before the appointment and they were going to prioritize my appointment for 1 PM. (I'm scheduled to take another afternoon off). At 8 AM the next morning (I'm at work) I get a text stating the the plumber is on the way!!!!!! I call and tell them that I can't be there and ask to speak with the manager. Non-transparent pricing scam: I was told I need to replace a control panel on my AC Unit -- a job priced at $860. I asked to break down the costs (part versus labor) and was told that the manager is unable to provide this info and is only able to give me a flat fee. This is non-transparent pricing behavior and a disrespectful treatment of your customers. A simple google search shows that the price is within $150-$400 range and labor is one hour. My A/C unit was not cooling as soon as it got in high 80's two days ago. Called and arranged technician to come (on a Saturday in the middle of Coronavirus quarantine). I'd seen TV ads saying they were wanting to help people out during this tough time. I called and arranged a visit and asked what safety procedures a technician would be doing before entering my home - immediate answer of: "oh yeah, we require them to all all wear masks, gloves, booties, and they sanitize everything they touch." I met technician outside and had to immediately back up to practice social distance with a technician who had none of these things on and proceeded to come into my house without any of them. Very nice man but I think I paid way more than I would have with another service (later discovered with too-late research) for 4 lbs of refrigerant. He did set my thermostat and explain a little bit how to work it. I asked if my filter needed changing and he acted like he hadn't checked although I know he had looked at unit in my attic. Said he would and that didn't happen (I had to take a call and think he must've forgotten to do that and left after helping me try to figure out thermostat controls and $900 later. did agree to "try freon replacement" instead of $3600 new coil, so that's on me, as well as not researching price of this before he left. They charged $188/lb of refrigerant and I agreed to regular maintenance which I will now cancel after reading some alarming reviews. I am a clueless consumer in this area and feel like technicians need to show you the actual procedures they come to in their assessment (how they come to find crazy low levels of freon, etc.... , the photograph could've come from anywhere, how they find a leak and why they can't repair leak in stead of trying freon replacement with no guarantee or replacing entire system. He was fair in his presentation of my options but shocked at the price and felt like I could've been taken advantage of at that cost. I do take responsibility for not reading reviews and doing more homework beforehand, but I felt like they could've given me a way better deal considering our times and was very disappointed that, having called to enquire, I had to request he put on any safety gear at all. He seemed surprised I asked. There's either a policy or there's not and I was told there was. Long review, short, I would not call Bardi again and have had others I trust more, but I DO have working air now - whether it goes out next week or not...time will tell. My assessment was fair enough sounding but I found freon on Amazon for $35/lb an hour later so not sure they're trustworthy in their prices and especially in tough times when you expect good companies to make more compensation. Monday Started with a frozen coil, no AC upstairs. Very common issue, especially when spring temps begin to rise, the filter is caked in pollen, and airflow over the coils may be restricted. I've used Bardi for plumbing and HVAC in my residence as well as rental units...after this recent visit, I wonder how many times I've been a victim of some shady tactics. I call first thing Monday morning and they get a tech out by late afternoon. He checks the attic unit and the corresponding outside unit. He takes a picture of the iced up coil, tells me about the "scorching" around the blower/heat exchange (blah blah), reminds me that my furnace is old (2006) and that my coil is from 2009. Funny, I had the coil and outside unit replaced in 2018. He says that we can't know exactly what is wrong until the ice melts, but he'll be back the next day to check. He left the furnace and coil panels open, cover plates on the ground. Also, removed the fuse to the outside AC unit without ever mentioning what he had done, or why (for my protection of course...). Before leaving tech again says he'll be back the next day but from what he's seen it's a mess and oh, by the way, one of our sales reps is in the area. Rep comes. He weaves the 'our company name' integrity bs with plenty of fear-driven urgency sales tactics, I get that it's part of the job. What didn't make sense were statements like, -You shouldn't mix and match different system components from manufacturers and years-...huh? I've found my invoice from the 2018 unit install and verified that yes, they did replace the coil upstairs. I say, "The upstairs coil is from '09? I'm almost positive they charged me for it. I'm so pissed." His reply is basically, it's not uncommon for smaller vendors to install used or recycled coils/parts. Okaaaay... He then give me the hard sell on replacing BOTH systems ( the mix&match is bad bs) and gives the standard supply chain issues, price increases, and openings for install tomorrow (but after will be difficult). I balk. He lays out the pricing which ranges from around 9.4-15.3k per unit. I balk again. More fearmongering. End of meeting. Tuesday I call Bardi to see when the tech will be returning to diagnose and put my panels back on, etc. There is no appointment scheduled for me but I'm told they are having a tech return later in the day. By noon I call back, still not on the schedule, no one seems to have any knowledge of an appointment...I say, I'm done. Wednsday I call a guy that has done reno work for me in the past. He's got almost 20yrs of commercial hvac experience. I explain the situation on the phone and he walks me through a basic set of steps to help get an idea of what's up, especially since the ice is melted and has been since Tuesday. Turn upstairs thermostat to "off" If on, toggle the power to the furnace to off Check air filter, if dirty or higher than MERV 5, replace with fresh filter. *The filter was clean* Screw the panels back in. Toggle furnace on. Turn thermostat to "Cool" Wait for the system to cycle up (the cooling icon stops flashing) Check for airflow. No airflow. He thinks it's probably the blower and will be by tomorrow to have a look. Thursday He does a walk around, tells me that the fuse has been pulled from my outdoor unit and asks if I did that. No...no I didn't. He goes to check the system upstairs. He calls down, "Hey, you need to see this." Here are his words from his work invoice: "The wire that was supposed to go into the Y (ac) terminal was removed and connected to the wire that was supposed to go into the C (com) terminal - correctly wired the furnace board. System working/ ran 2 cycles - all good!" In short, the thermostat was no longer connected to the control board, making any attempt to get it running from the thermostat panel impossible. Furthermore, had the wires remained in that configuration the control board for the whole upstairs system would have been fried in a few days at most. Now, I never witnessed our friendly Bardi "repair" tech do any of this first hand. Indeed, I wouldn't have known what was happening had I been right there. Could it have been my guy that switched the wires? Absolutely possible. I mean, it had to be my guy, right? Perhaps it went like this: After tampering with the wiring and bringing my attention to it, you know just to make himself look honest, he replaced the run capacitor for the blower, recharged the coolant, got it running and it's been frosty upstairs ever since. Here comes the bill... Invoice- $200 Yes, $200 Hmm... I cannot for certain accuse Bardi these kinds of filthy, dishonest, business practices as I was assured by the sales manager they take no part in. I mean I didn't directly witness any wiring mishaps or sloppiness. It's normal to render a system completely inoperable at multiple points to protect us...but not inform us, right? Never again. Dealing with a clogged drain on a Sunday is always a nightmare-especially when you are trying to meal prep for the week. Luckily, Ken came and saved the day. What a great technician. He was so friendly and made spending $300 a little more bearable (this was also a reasonable price as I shopped around quite a bit) I debated taking off a star based on price -I really WANTED it to be less than 200 but...clogs happen-and honestly Ken made the experience enjoyable. I called at 11 on a Sunday morning, he was here by 11:15, and done by 12:15. Honestly best customer service ever I have a home warranty (I was forced to buy) and they are awful. I will use this company in instead of them again-- even if it does cost me a little more as my time is valuable and now I can get on with my day. Thanks Ken! read more

If I could personally leave Negative stars, I would ! only reason why I'm leaving one is because I feel sorry for the employees that are a temp or a minority . I had made an appointment for my heating system, they sent a younger male out and literally the guy had to be new -- he was very sweet and respectful. They , Bardi company, had him watching YOUTUBE videos in order to be able to resolve my HVAC issue ; it was so dangerous to have these young , men messing with a 1K/2k machines whilst having them learn by YOUTUBE and not an actual physical human. Also, I am the fiancé of a previous employee and they treated him like trash. He was not the only one of colored skin that has been treated unfairly as I recall from others who are familiar with this Shitty piece of a company. My fiancé would walk in and speak and NO ONE would acknowledge him but when a non-colored person was present , everyone was saying hello and greeting him with respect ! If I am not mistaking , this is a family oriented business, but definitely not treating their employees or excuse me, their COLORED employees and customers with respect -- sad! My fiancé signed up to work with HVAC/plumbing and instead , they had him out in the cold , running errands , taking out the trash and had no sense of what his actual role at Bardi was which is uncomfortable and basically treating him like a floater /slave. I do have a few names of those who showed a ton of racism : Rob, Chris, Justin and I believe it was maybe two more. Not too sure but I've heard those names consistently and it's Asinine that they are treating their colored , non family members employees like SHIT in 2022 while showing racism is definitely not dead. I have only reviewed one company ( Mr. Sparky with glowing reviews) on yelp because I just never have the time to write reviews for companies. However, I feel that this is a very important review to share as I feel as though Bardi fraudulently charged me money for almost a year until I realized it was happening. I had an initial service in which I was told that if I joined the Bardi Friends and Family Program, which was "absolutely free" I would save money on my current repair if I enrolled. The only catch was that I had to allow Bardi to inspect my air and plumbing (free) for a year. So, I did enroll, thinking I could put up with the inconvenient free inspections just to save on my initial service (which was broken into monthly payments for a year- I was told that this covered the service they completed and I could cancel my free membership in a year). I was told that for that one year, I'd need to have my plumbing and air inspected for free, with no pressure to make purchases. Almost 2 years later, I find out that the program was not free at all. I was not only charged for my initial service but was then being charged monthly for this totally unnecessary maintenance program, being told after each visit that I desperately needed to purchase various things, called the next day to schedule my "desperately needed services," even though I had told them I did not want it done. Then in December I told them, I absolutely refuse to renew my membership with the company. I was told that I would be removed and that they were sorry I had not liked the program. They even have this on record in their computer- Sara mentioned that it was in the notes from December that I "do not wish to be re-enrolled." However, I was re-enrolled AGAIN against my wishes!!!!! Now, after getting a new credit card, I am getting calls from Bardi regarding my "over due" monthly payments????!!!! It is September! Have I been charged all year for this un-approved membership?? This is fraud. Who knows how many people out there are like me and did not notice the monthly charges that Bardi was making to their credit cards without their knowledge. I'm a working mom and am not vigilant enough about checking my credit card statements for each charge. I wish I had been more careful. I wish I had never used Bardi. I have requested a "membership refund" for this year immediately, but have not heard back from them. I used this company because I assumed it was a "big trusted" name. I feel as though I was taken advantage of and that they fraudulently stole my money for months before I realized they were doing it. I have honestly never felt so "tricked" by a company before. We had a showerhead faucet cartridge replacement was needed, Bardi's tech came and replaced it but got me to sign for the maintenance agreement for one year. It allowed me to cancel it within 3 days, so I did it next day by sending them an email. But, they keep on insisting me to keep it. I am fighting to cancel it. The person who came out, stated I needed some additional work and was to send me an estimate invoice with the information for me to review and if I agreed, he would come back February 22nd. To hold my time, he stated I needed to put down a deposit. Monday, February 21st I still had not received a invoice and called Bardi and spoke to 3 customer service reps and finally got to Linda who AGREED that my situation was not handled properly. She BEGGED me just review the information she provided and call her back once I had an opportunity to do so. I informed her that I would call her on February 24th in which I did only to be given the run around of her being unavailable, in a meeting and that NO ONE ELSE in the company could see my $800 deposit and that I would need to speak with her for a refund of WORK NOT COMPLETED! read more

Don't believe the commercials, Bardi is terrible! I turned to them to service several properties and what a mistake. All summer and only 1 out of 5 units have been serviced. They've been paid in full for 3 units at one property but only serviced one unit. They're refusing to give me a refund for work they didn't do. We're only talking a couple hundred dollars here folks. They told my mom it would cost her $1700 for neccessary repairs to get her system working again, but recommended replacement for $7000+. Thank God she got a second opinion from another company who charged $200 for necessary repairs. There was no freon leak as diagnosed by Bardi. Certainly no need for a new system. Got taken with their unethical sale practices. Wanted them to check my AC and they got me to sign up for their 1 year maintenance plan which btw does not cover any costs. Every time they send a guy to check your system, they don't repair anything but with give you a list of possible repairs that are quite outrageous. All three times they send a guy over, the list of repair prices range in the thousands for minor items. read more

$473 quoted to replace a spigot and approximately six inches of PVC pipe in a wall that was already open and accessible. Bardi would not roll a $68 leak search fee from ten months ago, for which I had the receipt.... a receipt that said nothing like what the repairman said which is that the quote is only good for sixty days. It's possible that I'm out of touch and cheap - but I was expecting $100 for an hour of the plumber's time and $20 for the parts. Update on owner saying that somebody would be reaching out to me - nobody from Bardi reached out to me to rectify anything. Update 2: A month after owner said somebody would be reaching out to me - nobody has reached out to me at all. Recently my AC (Heat Pump for a small house) went out and I called Bardi for the first time. A Bardi technician came out to diagnose the problem the following day. He quoted over $3000 to repair my small Heat Pump. Included in the repair quote were items like the Level 5 100K mile TUNE UP at a price of $1491.00 and the $850 Level 4 HVAC replacement of the the condenser fan motor (the motor cost less than $200). To replace the entire system I was quoted over $10K.Obvioulsly ended up going with another HVAC company who repaired my system and did all the items on the Bardi quote for $780. If I have any other HVAC issues I will definitely not be calling Bardi. read more

Scheduled an appointment recently for a tune-up since the last one done was a couple of years ago. I'd noticed my AC not blowing cold air, just cool air. Tyler came out and was punctual and pleasant. He identified an issue I'd expected (ie Freon leak) and an issue I did not expect with a failed condensation pump, which was the culprit of my cool/nor cold air flow. The cost to replace the condensation pump was $439, which after the visit, I researched and found that the part was actually only about 10 percent of this cost at my neighborhood Lowes, so I think that is a ridiculous markup for labor rate. Overall, 1. I'm out of more money than I should be (shame on you), 2. I'm pleased that my AC is nice and cool now (thank you), and 3. I know next time to research options given prior to making decisions (lesson learned)....found out I could have resolved that issue myself at a fraction of the cost in a few minutes. I would have given a higher rating for service but dropped a few stars because I personally would not consider using Bardi in the future because of pricing. read more

Update 01/03/2017: So Bardi sent their men out today and we think we may have identified the source of the problem. A faulty controller board may have caused frequent short circuiting of the system leading to failure. The component was replaced and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things work out! Thanks for addressing the problem so speedily! I've held off writing this review for several months as I was initially impressed with the professionalism of their servicemen. But, over the time, I've come to realize that they have sold me a $6,000 lemon. I was originally told by multiple specialists that I had to replace my HVAC unit due to multiple broken parts. I chose Bardi. They replaced the unit in July, 2016 only to have the "new motherboard" burn out in two weeks. As a result of this burnout, my AC unit turned into a super powerful heating unit and heated the house to 90 deg in July. We had the servicemen come out and replace the board, which was under warranty. Six weeks after that, the entire unit failed again. We had a quality control meeting with the company where we were assured that everything was in working order. A month after that, the new unit failed again due to a faulty "compressor," which was also replaced. This past Christmas Day, it was slightly warm and had our family over. We turned off the heating and switched to AC. The house immediately shot up past the designated temperature of 72 deg and the "AC Unit" heated the house to 85 deg. One of our guests had to spend time outside because she felt she was having bad hot flashes and was going to faint! In the last six months, my new AC unit has failed four times requiring repairs, new components, and many days taken off of work so I could let in the Bardi repairman on their "busy schedule." Frankly the whole situation has been very frustrating, time consuming, stressful, and the worst feeling is that I feel I may have paid over $6,000 for a new machine that doesn't even work. They quoted me the wrong price twice and when they came out to give me a quote they told me the quote they gave me was for one unit and I have 3 so they charged me $200 extra to add on the other 2 units which made their price higher than the other 3 quotes I recently. Next, they came out to do a maintenance on my air conditioner and said I needed a new unit. Even with the Friends of Bardi agreement they were higher than the other 4 companies I received a quote from. An even bigger sign they are a crook is when I called to cancel my agreement with them which is less than a month old they won't refund me my $415 minus the one visit they came out. I am reporting them on every social media avenue, the GPSC, and the media. BEWARE!!! This small family own company does not live up to the wholesome, honest, demeanor they say they are. Bardi replaced my water heater a couple years ago, but did not replace the catch tub under the water heater, solder the pipes like they needed to, or ensure the drain pipe had appropriate gasketing. Paying for it now. Watch out! read more

We had a window 1- 6 for tech to show up. Tech finally showed up at 7:30. We needed to have three stop valves replaced. The tech completed the work in under an hour. Cost 640.00. To replace three fifteen dollar stop valves. read more
