I have been to bare burger about 25 times and every time it gets better. They have all different types of meat to put on your burgers including ostrich elk and my favorite bison. Also part of the building is made out of garage doors and they have great appetizers like an assortment of pickles with different types of sauces to dip them in. Overall I gave bare burger a 4 rating and it would have been a five if they expand their dessert menu more and have more to choose from like adding types of soups to the menu or a type of starter. read more

The food itself was excellent however the service was disappointing. Our server was very inattentive and when the bill came there were 4 additional items on our bill. When I asked about it she did not say anything but just took the bill away and brought revised bill back, no apology or even smile. After inspecting the bill again there were still an additional side of fries on the bill (an $4.95) charge. She sighed and walked away again and placed a revised bill down, no apology or anything. I also questioned a charge for a adult sized ginger ale and she said that was because of the child size soda we had ordered. I questioned this as the kids meal included a drink but she replied that the child drink was milk or juice not soda. I asked since milk or soda was more expensive than soda couldn't this be considered and she just said "no". So we were charged for a large adult size soda and received a kids sized soda. We had two other kids with us and would have used the free kids drink for one of our other kids but were unaware that the soda was not considered the kids drink until the bill came. Very disappointing service and handling of a customer issue. I do not plan on returning. read more

Ehhh, heard about it and decided to try. Didn't think much of it. Had a bison burger and have to say it was really bland, dark cheddar was bland too. The side rings & fries wasn't so good either, too soggy. My coworker didn't think so much of has Elk burger either. The bacon killed the taste of the elk. read more

Best burger in town and a beer selection on tap to please any beer aficionados. Sweet potato fries are good and salads are fresh and delicious. Love that everything is organic or grass fed. We will be back. read more

Overpriced, slow service. I make better burgers at home, so maybe that affects my opinion. I went during lunchtime with another person right when the restaurant opened. I'm not quite sure why it took so long for the most simple things to be brought to the table (drinks, appetizers), but it did. Considering the restaurant had maybe one other couple in it, it seemed odd. There was some discombobulation going on with getting the order to the table. I wanted the onion rings with the lunch, and we sat there with onion rings being dropped off by the manager while waiting for an extended period of time for our lunch. $40 later for two people, and I can't say there was anything remotely impressive. Finally tried this place after living nearby for a while and oh...my...GOD! It is SO good! Us plain old wimps didn't have the guts to go for the ostrich or buffalo burger but our American cheeseburgers and fries were quite tasty. The kids didn't like the taste of the "smoked" cheddar (so they scraped it off) but besides that they were pleased. Burgers were so good and juicy and the fries came with dipping sauces like they serve in Amsterdam (pommes frites). The wait staff was kind and attentive and even sang Happy Birthday to my daughter when bringing out her dessert. We will be back! Kudos! read more

First time here, I ordered the long-stem artichoke salad with grilled jerk chicken over top - it was the some of the most tender and flavorful chicken I have had in Ridgefield (At a burger joint - surprised even me!), extremely moist and fresh tasting, with the perfect amount of kick. Also - Not a wilted leaf or discolored tomato on the plate - a rarity to find in a restaurant these days. Second time, I ordered the boar over the mexican salad. Also a good choice, tender, and tasty . Lastly, while I won't be ordering it regularly, the chocolate peanut butter and banana shake was a perfect indulgence. The restaurant was slammed both times from when I walked in, and so it's certainly recommended that you get there as soon as the doors open if you have a larger group. I lucked out with bar seats. Was very happy with the service: the staff and management visibly extends the extra effort to make sure each of their tables is satisfied with their meal and well taken care of, and often reaches out for helpful feedback. Like any new restaurant that starts with such volume, it is evident that they are working towards getting a handle on it in the first week or two. By my second visit, I could already see some improvements in the flow. I can't wait to see this place flower and bloom to full potential , a wonderful addition to Ridgefield. My favorite thing about it? Being able to bring a bunch of friends who want a great burger here, and ordering a salad that's up to snuff as well. read more

The food was pretty good but I probably won't ever return. We came before a show at the playhouse because they were the sponsors and offered a free beer or wine with your ticket. We each ordered a burger and a fries/onion ring basket to share plus my boyfriend had 2 beers and I had 2 glasses of wine. When I asked the bartender about the playhouse special she and no one else on the staff had any idea what I was talking about. Finally she asked the owner who standing right in front of us was whispering to the bartender....she then told us she could only take ONE beer off because it's only house wine included....I ordered a Pinot Grigio the only one on their menu so it should be a house wine...but fine then they should have taken both beers off but now they wouldn't do that. Honestly the owner should have said something to us instead of whispering no right in front of our faces. Very rude- we winded up spending almost $80 even after the one beer was taken off so it's not like we were being cheap! There was only 2 other diners in the restaurant when my daughter and I arrived at 2:15 pm, for a late lunch. We were promptly seated. Our waitress, lets call her JH, had no apparent knowledge of the menu, or was withholding menu ingredients. My daughters sandwich was good, and fries were hot. I ordered a Burger, medium rare, lettuce, tomato, and onion, on a GF bun. My burger was not delivered by her, so i lifted up the top bun and saw a very dry well well done , small circle of meat. That was all ! No lettuce, no tomato, no onion and it was the farthest thing from medium rare! I know she did not cook the burger, nor deliver it, but she also did not ever return to our table! I always tip 20% or more, never less, and I would never not tip! I gave 15%, only hoping that it was given to the waiter that got stuck with bringing me that nasty food.I know you are thinking maybe her shift was over, not so, she was chatting with the bartender behind the bar.I could overlook bad service if the food was amazing, but that was far from amazing! read more

Bareburger is just what Ridgefield needs! Our group went during the first week after being opened. We were greeted by an exceptional staff from the hostess to some of the owners. After being seated promptly, they graciously set up an extra table so that our party could join another group of friends who were just arriving. We were offered drinks as soon as we were seated. Then the fun began as we received the Bareburger "education". We learned about the many possibilities of building a burger. We ordered beef, bison and brisket, with all the toppings and made to order just cooked to perfection. While waiting for our Bare Snacks, we took in the pretty surroundings. A country interior with weathered wood and hip lighting. This is a really great addition to Ridgefield where we may have just one too many pizza parlors! Our only mistake was to not have the fries. So of course we went back the next week to try it again. This is a keeper and can't wait to enjoy a warm summer night on their patio. read more

I was a bit surprised seeing the reviews about bad service and food here. Someone mentioned they can't even cook a regular burger right and it took too long etc.. I came in for a weekend lunch and sat at the bar. The place seemed to be maybe 1/3 to 1/2 full. I tried one of the $9 34oz steins of beer I'd read about, and sure enough, almost too good to be true, it turned out to be $9. At one point I was asked if I'd ever tried one of the local beers they have. I said no, I have not. I believe it was the manager Chris(?) who must've overheard and came straight away to pour me a sample. (Not to mention, he was quite the Johnny-on-the-spot for everything else too, like making sure to-go orders don't sit and get cold by going to hand them out). Then the food came. It took 11 minutes for my food to arrive. Meat cooked as ordered, quite tasty. After finishing up, I was about to leave, and didn't bother asking for a box for the fries, but sure enough, a different Johnny-on-the-spot comes with a box. Alrighty, I guess I'll take the fries.
