Good spot for a pre-show meal. The food and drinks were good. I was surprised by the chicken paella meal, as I generally miss out on such a dish for not liking seafood. The drinks were pretty good. I liked the ambience and the dedication to decorating for Halloween. The service was okay. If you're looking to make a reservation before a show, this is a good spot.

Lets get the bad out of the way... WAY TO DARK!! Could not read menu or get photos for this post. Cramped; way too packed. We had a high top by the bar and were brushed by every person that walked by. The good - the food! We went with heavy apps and had the grass fed steak skewers, Ahi Tuna Tostada and Grilled Octopus. I would come back for each and every one of them. Great draft beer list and wines by the glass

Tequila Escape was the first sit-down restaurant I went to after the hardcore quarantine phase of COVID, and it has emerged as one of my favorites in the area. Ridgefield can be an absolute nightmare to drive through, especially on the weekends. One of the selling points of this establishment is that it's right on the periphery of the main downtown area, so (assuming you're coming from the north) you can actually avoid going 5 mph for half a mile and letting every single pedestrian in Fairfield County cross in front of your car. The parking is also great - there's a mini shopping center/strip mall right across the parking lot, so even if the spaces right by the restaurant are occupied, you don't have to go too far to find one. I don't have much of an eye for interior decorating (I usually just go to an estate sale and hope for the best), but this place has a very unique, DIY scheme that still looks really professional and changes regularly depending on the season. My mom and I came here for lunch this past Sunday, and they had a wintry theme going on - a roaring gas fireplace and a lot of white decor (right next to our table was this little display of white-washed branches that kind of looked like a classy arts and crafts project, if that makes sense). You can tell a lot of careful thought went into the decorations, and it's a nice, unique touch. I'm not a huge Mexican cuisine fan as a general rule, but the menu veers closer to mainstream/Latin fusion so it's pretty easy to find something to eat; for every quesadilla or empanada, you'll find an edgy mac and cheese or a burger of some kind. For this particular adventure, I wasn't too hungry so I opted for the ahi tuna tacos app - I've had it before and it's not particularly filling, but it is tasty. In my opinion it's a bit pricey for the amount of food; you're getting two smallish tacos for $17, so I think $13 or $14 is more in line with the portion. My mom ordered the grass-fed burger and was pretty pleased with it but remarked that it was overcooked. She ordered it medium rare and it was clearly closer to medium well - not a pinkish tint to be seen. The real selling point for me menu-wise here are the cocktails. If you have a literal spirit in the name of your restaurant, you'd better be boning up on your mixology skills and they certainly have. I had the Strawberry Pico Sour. I'm a huge egg white cocktail fan, and this is a decent one for sure. This time around I thought they went a little heavy on the sour, but given that it's in the name of the cocktail I don't think I have too much right to complain about that. One of the great subtle touches of this beverage is the dusting of cinnamon they put on the top of the drink - great sensory experience and helps negate some of the tart qualities of the beverage. If your bartender understands that the nose is just as important as the tongue, you're likely in good hands. Constructive feedback-wise, the service is average. The waitstaff is super friendly and accommodating (we always seem to get the same perky, tallish lad, who is a delight), but it usually takes about 10 minutes more than it should to receive the drinks and food. It was a little busy when we were there, but it seems to be pretty sluggish regardless of when we're there so I'd be reluctant to come by if I were on a tight schedule. Still, this is a strong recommendation in an area with a lot of edgy dining options.

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while and I have to say, it was super different than I had expected inside. I didn't think there would be so many cute photo ops and neon signs inside. Pro tip- deff head to the restrooms because there is a very cute neon sign with angel wings photo op! I wouldn't have known it was there if I didn't go! A major plus is that there is a parking lot so parking was a breeze. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The menu is also pretty large. There is a lot to choose from. The food was really good too. I got the huevos rancheros with flank steak & I enjoyed the steak a lot! The salsa on the eggs was also very delicious. The only thing I didn't really care for was the guac. It was $15 dollars for a super small portion. There were 5 of us and we only got one small basket of chips. It was fresh but a bit too tangy for my liking but other than that, everything else was great. I highly suggest getting the churros! They were soft and light & had the best crunch & flavor. The dipping sauce was incredible too!

I was expecting a glass of sparkling water, they surprised me by the one liter bottle of Pellegrini, more for meeeeee ;)

We totally recommend this restaurant at Ridgefield. The environment is so inviting, menu is Tex-mex fusion. The fajitas accompanied by the skillet beef were delicious. Our choice of appetizers were fried calamari and the octopus with arugula, Spanish sausage and mini potatoes is my preferred, both extremely tender and filled with flavor. Come by no fear! I am happy that we are close by :)

We just ordered $80 worth of food - so not worth it for the tiny amount of food that arrived. Incredible rip off.

Ok well let us know BEFORE you hand us the beer and wine menu. UGH For Tapas YES Fried Calamari was absolutely amazing Fresh, not dry at all with a large bowl and 2 delicious dipping sauces. BUT For Paella Classic for 2 Never again. It was a huge disappointment after our tapas as a warm up. It was served in an iron skillet, nice presentation but much smaller than we thought it should be for 2. It had no moisture at all, the rice and chorizo sausage with chicken bits and shrimp. The shrimp was very disappointing just rubbery and dry. This place has a 4.7 star rating and a great looking Menu. Maybe it's a Ridgefield Connecticut thing to go there for an enjoyable atmosphere. For the food quality it was too expensive comparatively as view on their website. We picked it because of the Great Rating. The head manager/owner was great and the staff was very attentive. We had dessert and coffee the coffee was nice and strong, fantastic but dessert was a version of crème brûlée taste was good Caramelized sugar wasn't there. When the Restaurant manger asked how was everything I had to let him know, he appreciated it and took the coffee off of the bill. We still gave a 20% tip for the great service. Sad to say We won't ever go back

The space is modern, warm, and understated. Everything we ordered was excellent. The panisse was golden and crisp on the outside, soft and creamy in the middle. The hake was light, buttery, and cooked perfectly, and the lamb chops were tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. Every plate felt carefully put together, with classic French techniques and just enough creativity to make each dish feel special. And then there was dessert. The profiterole was the perfect ending to the meal--a light, airy pastry filled with ice cream, covered in a crisp hazelnut shell, and finished with a smooth chocolate glaze. It had the perfect mix of crunch, creaminess, and rich chocolate, but somehow still felt light enough that you wanted every last bite.

It's a great space: simple and comfortable, lively yet not too loud. My one complaint is re nuts. Why so many dishes with them when so many people are allergic? And...I chose the 1 of 3 desserts which didn't mention nuts only to discover that had nuts in it and the other two could leave them out. Frustrating. Overall though we really liked it and will probably return.
