Food is always good, I love their gluten free and dairy free options, which is hard to find at a burger place. I only take one star off because for a few visits they said their chicken waffle dish was GF but the chicken wasn't so I was breaking out. It wasn't until I called once to order thinking it's GF that the waiter said it wasn't. I did contact their FB page and the regional manager sincerely apologized and said she would ensure the staff was educated and clear. She offered to send me a gift card which was nice. Wow. Ridgewood finally coming into the 21st century with a cool and hip place with healthy food and very nice bar on top. Been to Bareburger many times in the city and this seems to be a suburbanized version with the faux slum decor. They did seem to keep the original tin ceiling tho and in general the space is well done - especially the bay doors which open to the sidewalk where there are tables too in good weather. Burgers here are kind of unique being organic and also they offer bison - I'm not sure in Ridgewood but in others wild boar and ostrich and turkey. Grass fed, pasture raised. Creative combos - generous serving. It's not a gourmet super premium burger but it's not 25 bucks either. Real good. I was only disappointed here because my bison burger came well done when I ordered medium. Sweet potato and regular fries were nothing special but ok. They had crispy Brussel sprouts which were fantastic - served with some cheese. Not gooey but perfect. Hey this ain't the Rainbow Room it's a burger and sandwich place. But qualify and space is really nice and fairly reasonable. Nice wine and beer list. Lots of craft brews and bottled, good selection of off beat wines - well priced by glass. Full bar too with the usual selection of silly cocktails. Whatever - cool place anyway. Now all Ridgewood needs is parking. Have to wait to elect a council with IQ over 49 tho - likely not to happen anytime soon. I think they have a maximum intelligence level you can't exceed to run. Burgers were pretty good, but for 2 burgers, a shared large fry, 1 soda and a water, plus tip, we spent $68. So it's pricey. My main complaint was our server. Younger petite girl, dark hair and glasses. She talked very quietly and we couldn't catch her name. We did not see her, and she did not check on us ONCE after giving us our food. When she finally came around, we were already finished eating, and were ready for our check. She didn't even ask us how the food was. My husband asked her for a soda refill and the check. She left and brought the check, but no soda. So I asked for his refill. She said she'd get it. She came back to pick up the check and credit card...no soda. She returned the card and receipt...no soda, no "thank you," no "have a good night," no "hope you enjoyed the food." My husband left a decent tip bc we know servers don't make much, but honestly, her "service" was about as pathetic as it gets. read more

The breading is normally super crispy and stuck to the chicken nicely, this was soggy, mushy, falling off into piles of floury goop. The sole one that was still intact? Pink inside. Pink pink. Not wrapped in foil as usual so stuck to the tray. Onion rings were fine. But also soggy, not wrapped in foil and breading falling off. Milkshakes were the 10.00 joke of the century. I'd hardly say 1 swirl of some sort of funny colored goop counts as a strawberry shake. No straws..which we also don't own. Soda was completely left out. They've changed all their sauces and now they taste very artificial. Called to inform them: "we're closed we'll credit you for the soda, have a nice night." Couldn't get a word in about the actual food being wrong, wrote to doordash, they offered door dash credit. Not for nothing that doesn't fix raw chicken. We've been disappointed each time we've gone to Bareburger in Ridgewood. The first two times we went for just cocktails on their front patio while waiting for our table to be ready at S Egidio. The service at Bareburger was slow despite being the only customers. What made it more frustrating was that the servers were huddled inside chatting. The third time we sat on the patio to have lunch. The food was pretty lousy. The chicken sandwiches were fried. Their iPad menu had photos of grilled chicken, so we didn't think to ask for non-fried. The server was inattentive and inexperienced. We had to go inside several times to fetch condiments, utensils, napkins, etc. Given the short shelf life of most Ridgewood restaurants, we're looking forward to Bareburger closing down and a new restaurant to take over this prime retail space and of course their liquor license. read more

My boyfriend was looking for parking. so I entered the establishment alone upon walking in,the placewas completely empty except for one table the waiter, much older bald White man looked up at me and immediately turned away, however, there was a sign that said please wait to be seated so I did after a few minutes. He didn't acknowledge me so I stood up and I asked for a table for two he looked at me confused and said oh you need a table? I answered yes please table for two he he proceeded to pick up two menus and walked me all the way to the back the last table actually again keep in mind at that moment there was only one other table being occupied and said he was seating me in the back so I can have privacy. I was confused but i awkwardly just said OK. My boyfriend who is white came in I tried to order my food. The server did not take my order. My boyfriend had to order my burger because every time I tried to order the waiter seem to not hear me. When my order did come out, my order was incorrect. He claimed that my fries had gotten cold so he requested the cook to make me new ones which makes no sense because he had just brought it out. seems to me he never put in the order but OK anyways this man not once not one time everrrrrrrr my whole time there not once did he come to the table and asked if we needed a beverage I could not eat the meal I had to take it to go, especially after that experience, I actually no longer wanted to be there. My boyfriend had to get up and find a different server to ask for our receipt because the waiter never came to our table i really wanted to cause a scene but just left very sad and crying no one deserves to be treated that way the other servers seemed helpfull read more

I am a HUGE fan of the chain, I've been to several locations throughout Manhattan, as well as the Edgewater location but for some reason I was very unimpressed. We were given ipads with the menu on it, and couldnt figure out how to read it. It turns out it was just the drink menu, and they gave us the second menu afterwards once they took our order for the drinks. It was also very difficult to use. (Also paying on the ipad didnt work out either, but I'm not too upset about it) The best part about my meal, was the wine and the onion rings. I wouldn't recommend getting the fries, I could have gotten better ones at FiveGuys. I just wish they werent too expensive. But the onion rings are definitely worth it! I know they just opened, so I will give them some slack, but they gave us BBQ sauce instead of ketchup and it ruined my whole night. Thankfully my boyfriend loved his meal, but the BBQ sauce made me feel sick to my stomach. I might come back once the place has calmed down, so maybe we will get more attentive service, and now we know the menu better too read more

First try and Home Run!!! I normally bring lunch from home, but not today. Since I had a coupon on Uber Eats I decided to treat myself. I ordered the Captain Free Fish sandwich (added aged cheddar), sweet potato fries, side of garlic aioli (for dipping) and a ginger ale. The food was amazing! The fish sandwich was flavorful, the filet was lightly breaded and fried perfectly. All the condiments that came on the sandwich complimented the flavor and taste. I did takeout and it was pretty good. I enjoyed the black bean burger and I loved the cauliflower bites. I would definitely go back and dine in. Take out was very convenient, I ordered 20 minutes before hand and it was ready when I showed up. The only thing I don't like is how expensive it is. The veggie burger and cauliflower came out to $23 dollars, that seems overpriced. The quality is good but I don't see myself stopping in often due to how expensive it is. I imagine if I ordered a drink or shake with it, it would be $30 , which is unheard of for 3 items for 1 person. Had a nice lunch with a friend here (and free street parking Sunday). I was a little annoyed that their website and door sign say open at 11:30 am but they weren't ready to open until noon, but a quick walk around the block killed some time. Came in with friends to try this place out for the first time. I had heard a decent amount of hype about the place, so I was excited. We waited a few minutes before. a waiter came to our table. Once our waiter came over, he was decently pleasant. After we decided what we wanted go eat, I went for a "Be My Burger," where you essentially build you own burger. I sent for a brioche bun, Impossible patty, and some other toppings, including guacamole; I was aware this would be an extra charge. I also opted in for a side of "Fries and Organic Sweet Fries." In about 15 minutes, our food was brought out. It was presented well, and it looked pretty appetizing. I really enjoyed the Impossible patty and the quality and size of my burger. The fries were decent as well. Once our bills come, I was shocked to see that mine was around 27 dollars. Once I inquired the waiter about it, he explained to me that many of my toppings had an extra charge. The way the menu is written displays the additional charge next to an item name, such as "avocado." Apparently, this additional charge goes for all the items underneath it as well. Because this seemed kind of unfair to me, the waiter did bring over a manager and have her explain to me the way it worked. They also took most additional charges for additions off of my bill. Overall, I would recommend this place, but READ THE MENU CAREFULLY. I also may opt out of the building my own burger, because it becomes costly pretty quick. The waiter - Angelo B based on the bill - came over slowly and seemed half interested. It took nearly 5 minutes to place an order for 2 burgers, one fries, and two drinks. Beer and Root beer. He seemed to have difficulty with the touchpad used to take the order and asked us 3 times to confirm the order. Slow doesn't describe it. When have you ever had the food come out before the drinks? This spot is a great addition to the Ridgewood dining scene! I've been to Bareburgers in New York City before, but this may be my new favorite location of the chain. Great location, close to the train station and spots for dessert. Nice, modern, and large interior. The place was a good level of full but wasn't too loud. They don't take reservations, but for a group of 4 on Saturday at 7pm, we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. I ordered the Farmstead burger which is a sweet potato and rice patty with an avocado-basil dressing in a collard green wrap. I swapped the hummus for ketchup and added aged cheddar. I thought it was a little small for the price and the regular burgers are probably a better value way to fill you up, but it was absolutely delicious! Another friend got the Supreme burger, which looked good, and another had the Thai Chia which she also said was good. We also ordered a rings and fries combo for the table and it was a great size. You get three sauces with the fries. The Sriracha mayo was super spicy but really good. Our waiter, Dylan, was very nice and kept checking on our table. In general, great service and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Another nice perk is the iPhone charging station up front, as well as the outlets at many tables. My friend had a different kind of phone and there was no outlet at our table, so the hostess was kind enough to unplug something up front so she could charge her phone.
