About 5 minutes into the ride my youngest daughter started to panic so Tyler stayed back with us while Jeff continued on with the rest of the group. Tyler took us to a sandbar in hopes my daughter would get used to the jet skis but she was still scared so he took my wife and daughter back, then took me and my other daughter out on basically a private ride. He was fantastic! He led us to a group of dolphins and had us going full throttle the whole way. Tyler helped make what could have been a bad experience, a great one! We have visited Key West several times but this trip was our favorite because of the jet ski tour led by Dakota and Matteo. My family has never jet skied before and me, not the most athletic and coordinated, was apprehensive. Our hotel was booked but they found us space at The Reach. These guys were welcoming, positive and encouraging. Our group was split with experienced riders and brand new. Dakota made sure to pace the experienced so they had a great time and I personally thank Matteo for keeping an eye on me while I was far, far back. This tour gave us a beautiful perspective of Key West. We had perfect weather, loved the stories and loved time to play and practice the jet skis. At the end, I not only felt a true respect for the beauty of the Key but also a feeling of self-accomplishment. Overall, for us, an amazing experience and we definitely plan to return. Things to note: don't wear flip flops, they will store belongings for you, wear sunscreen, you can rinse off after and most importantly... All these guys work hard. We did the sunset tour with beverages and snacks. Had thought it was a sailing cruise but turned out to be a pontoon style boat. But since the weather was rainy it worked out as there was a cover for everyone to gather under until showers passed and towels to wipe down wet seats. Cap. Zach and First Mate Charles were great-Charles served up the meat and cheese platter, which was good and the amazingly excellent sushi roll platter, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Zach was informational regarding what we saw as we cruise the harbor and local waters and tolerant of the overly inebriated young women on the cruise. We found their southern point location while we were staying at the Reach and needed to rent a scooter and I'm glad we did. They have various tours that they organize and the island Jet Ski tour we did with them was one of the high points of our 1 week vacation. This is an all around the island (90 min/26 miles app.) tour that has a guide andyou also get some free time in one of the stops to play around with the Jet Ski. It was a great experience both to increase the adrenalin levels a bit :) and to see the island from water. One note: make sure you are comfortable with water / and eventually going under if you book this tour. We did not fall down at any point, but other people in our group did so I would not recommend it if you are uncomfortable with the idea of falling down. read more

We did the jet ski island tour by PJ who was really great as our tour guide. He did a fantastic job giving clear instructions, maintaining a safe environment, and providing a fun demeanor that was enjoyable for all of the participants. There were 5 wave runners in our group. 4 were being used as doubles and one as a single. The tour takes you around the entire island for approximately 90 minutes. This includes about 20 minutes of "free time" riding around in the open water. This was a great time for everyone to get acquainted with their wave runner and have some fun. It's a nice tour that allows you to see many areas of Key West from the water view (Southernmost Point, cruise ships, forts, mangroves, etc). PJ did a nice job and stopping at some highlights along the tour and providing us with information. I definitely recommend this tour group. Very well run. Two thumbs up! read more

Absolute horrible experience renting Jetske's from this place. We took a JetSki tour this supposed to last 90 minutes so wound up going to an a half hours. We had problems after problems after problems after problems. The Jetske I was on after 15 minutes all of a sudden a light came on and the buzzer kept going off showing I'm about to run out of fuel. This was rather unnerving since we were going through a channel with 15 mile hour winds a strong current I'm about out of fuel and I'm panicking thinking if this thing runs out of gas I am going to smash into the channel and will not survive this trip. I changed Jetske's while were in some rough water with the tour guide. He put me on his Jetske which a few minutes after I'm on it started taking on water and we had to tow it in. The bottom line is, 15 mile an hour winds is not the time for them to take a group of an experience JetSki years out. Three of them ran out of gas during the trip. It was a total nightmare. We will never use this service again. read more

I've researched quite a bit before deciding on Barefoot Billy's for their Sunset Cruise. From all the other reviews, it appeared that they provided the best customer service of all the other ones. So I made reservations for their Sunset Cruise which included drinks and snacks. Whenever it states drinks and snacks included, I assumed it to be bottle water and at most soda and for snacks just bags of chips. Oh boy was I up for a surprise. Upon arriving they were really courteous, my group was the first to arrive and we were able to get a corner, front of the boat for the best view possible. They made sure everyplace was wipe nice and clean and that all other guests were far enough away from each other. Of course once we were on the sea, masks were off but it was a risk we had to take since we came to this cruise. They took us through the canal out to the open ocean while giving us a mini tour of history and background of Key West. It was very informative. The drinks they served came as a surprise, asides from my expected bottle of water and sodas, they also had beer, a variety of beer, red wine, white wine and even champagne was served. For snacks, we had cold cuts, salami, peperoni, cheese, chips and a sushi boat. You read it right, a freaking sushi boat. Talk about elevated snacks. At this point all that was left was the sunset which did no disappoint and with other vessels along the ocean, the scene was beautiful and perfect for pictures. Make sure to bring a windbreaker or even a jacket because once the sun goes down, the temperature will drop and make the end of day cold. If you want a sunset cruise, definitely choose Barefoot Billy's. They also have a Jet Ski tour, I didn't have the chance to do it but when I come back again, I will definitely do that next. read more

I cannot say enough about how amazing this business is! From start to finish 100% amazing ! We lucked Into meeting Rachel from Cleveland at the kiosk next to the butterfly nature center. We were walking, trying to figure out how to finish our evening and Rachel was trying to get more people for their sunset dinner cruise. She immediately felt like an old friend so we went with it! It was very close to being the time we needed to be at the dock so Rachel arranged for us to be picked up and brought home afterward. She even offered to drive us if necessary. I asked about an ATM being nearby so I could get tip money and she even offered to lend me money if needed. Seriously! We were soon whisked away to the dock next to a Thai Restaurant where we were given a sign in sheet, a chance to use the restroom etc. It is the off season so we had a very small amount of people on the boat and they did not complain one bit. We met Captain Steve and Paula, they claim it was their first trip working together but they had such a great brother/sister vibe I don't believe them. Again, my new best friends, it felt like we had known each other forever. They went over safety, the small boat potty, and then we were off! After everyone was given drinks of their choice we were given access to an amazing sushi boat and cheese platter, yum! I don't eat sushi all that often but it was great, it came from the Thai place. Our ride was smooth, entertaining and more than I expected. I hated having to go back. Imagine my surprise when we returned and THE owner Billy himself was there making sure everything went well! We had such a good time we decided to try another excursion and signed up for the jet ski tour. I had never jet skied before and was really nervous about it. Our guide, Barrett, took his time getting everyone comfortable with maneuvering then we let them rip across the Gulf of Mexico! By the end of the tour I was standing and zig zagging across the water!! There were about five stops on the tour where we gathered up and pointed things out and one place where we could do as we pleased for a bit. It was SO much fun. When we got back to the base to turn our jet skis in they had a fresh water shower and towels ready to go for each of us. Guess who was there? BILLY!!!! Again, just making sure all was well in a completely different location than the night before. I have to admire a business owner so hands on, humble, and appreciative of feedback. He chatted for a bit and never made me feel like a bother although I'm sure he had a lot to do. Everyone I talked to said he is great to work for. We recently spent about a week in Key West and wanted to snorkel. We saw ads everywhere but we asked our hotel concierge (at Casa Marina) and they said hands down to go with Barefoot Billy's. They warned us that the other companies might be a little cheaper but the groups are much larger and the focus tends to be on the alcohol. We went with Barefoot Billy's, obviously. First, there was a shuttle to pick us up from our hotel, which was convenient. The driver was super friendly and started things off really well. When we boarded, Marta gave us a great intro speech about what we'd be doing and the safety rules and such, and we got under way. Scott was our Captain and Charles was along to help as well. We meandered our way out to the reef without managing to see anything on the way out, but as soon as we got to our mooring point at the reef, we saw dolphins waiting for us. WITH A WEEK OLD BABY! Oh my gosh was it cute. We watched the family come and go around the boat for a bit, then we got to snorkeling. There was something attached to the mooring buoy, so Charles jumped in and found that it was a net that he removed (leave it cleaner than you found it, right?) and soon after that let us know that he also saw a nurse shark down among the reef. Marta explained that we had nothing to worry about, so we weren't concerned. We saw every color fish imaginable (and some I wouldn't have imagined) and the water was SO clear. This beat snorkeling off the Napali coast in Hawai'i last year by a long shot. I saw the nurse shark below us cruising around; my wife spotted a moray eel that I somehow missed (Marta said his name is Kevin). It was amazing. On the way back (enjoying our alcoholic beverages after the in-water activities :) ) we did see more dolphins and a few turtles as well. Altogether an AMAZING experience, I so recommend it! This company is great for doing various water sports. Their jet ski tour is so much fun, and informative. Max was an excellent guide. We circled the island and saw many local sites. Then we got to free ride in an open area, and were able to speed like crazy. We also went on their sunset cruise with Captain Mike and Marta, who were also excellent. The wine and beer was plentiful, and the food was actually pretty good. We were offered sushi and a meat tray, then chocolate cake to finish. This was more than just appetizers. We had a blast on our snorkeling and dolphin trip, despite the bad weather that started our trip. The captain and first mates were very fun and patient ( we had a large group on the boat that did not follow instructions well). Even though the weather was bad at first my wife still saw a lot of cool stuff while I enjoyed some adult beverages on the boat and talked to the crew. We were scheduled for the jet ski tour out of Casa Marina this past Tuesday. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating so we had to move to Wednesday. Mike was so helpful and getting us rebooked and very flexible with our schedule. When we showed up, they ended up putting us on a private tour from Reach Resort. DJ was our guide and did an awesome job. He is super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and history of Key West. Even though it rained during the first part of our tour, it was still a blast. The absolute only negative was all the seaweed you have to wade through at Reach to get to the jet skis. Not Barefoot's fault, they were steadily working at cleaning up the beach but mother nature is aggressive!! We left from Marriott the last time we were on this tour and the water was much more clear there. So...if seaweed isn't your thing...you might consider leaving from the Marriott location. Will definitely take this tour again the next time we're in KW! read more

We had a great time on our 90 minute jet ski tour out of Casa Marina. The water on the south end was choppy and a blast to play in the surf. The water on the north end was nice and calm and we had a blast for our little play around in the gulf session. Both lead and tail tour guides were awesome. The sea grass was terrible, waves were too big for inexperienced riders, and even had a rider suck up a rope, the tour guides sure had their hands full but handled it with professionalism and made sure that everyone had a fun and safe trip.
