Okay guys, if you think you're going on a leisurely "tour" with amazing views as described on the website you are mistaken. I agree with other reviewers who say Billy's needs different JetSki tours for different levels. This is a HIGH ADRENALINE HIGH SPEED tour. Multiple people got dumped after tipping and thankfully they were all at slow speeds while stopped. Much of this trip is full throttle going 45 MPH on the water, which can be choppy. I would not recommend sharing a ski. More weight means more chance of tipping. Our guides were into speed speed speed which for me was scary and not very fun. Buyer beware. read more

Keyanna was INCREDIBLE!! She was our 'server' on the sunset cruise! Always a full glass of whatever we wanted & so nice! Capt. John made sure we were having a good time and also super nice! Also, all the info/facts were so fun!! The free shuttle picking us up is why I didn't give this 5 stars. We waited an hour for it, the boat with other patrons had to wait for us and we were late taking off (they made up for the time after sunset) but had we not been told 'they'll be there in 10 minutes. Barefoot Billy's is every adrenaline junkies dream. Never had I experienced a jet ski tour like this one where we we're allowed to go full throttle and have some real fun, with safety measures of course. Our guide Nate was awesome showing us around the beautiful keys while offering great jokes and taking photos of our group with no additional charge. We rented one jet ski for two riders but if there is one thing I might've change was to get my own jet ski. But if you're adamant about riding as a couple it'll cost $150 and there is plenty of time allotted to switch around if you want. And even with the extra weight these jet skis still pull at high speeds with no issues at all. Will definitely recommend Barefoot Billy's and return again soon! read more

Visiting the Keys for our 40th anniversary and decided to just have a fun time. We had Clayton as our guide for a ride around Key West. There were 4 in our group. This was my first time in a very long time riding a jet ski and as I am not coordinated and a little overweight, Clayton was kind enough to help me get onto my craft. Once we were all ready we started on a 27 mile around Key West and saw many points of interest. The open water was a bit choppy (TS Helene was forming down in Cuba) but when we got into the Gulf of Mexico it calmed down somewhat. We went into a cove where the water was about 3' deep and had open play (drive it like you stole it)! We puttered under a bridge (no wake zone) and we saw a duck diving for his dinner and came up with a fish! The last 10-15 minutes of the ride was back in open water which was choppy again and we could see clouds from Helen descend on us. I enjoyed it, got a great workout for my arms, and would do it again, but maybe not when a tropical storm is forming. Clayton is a great guy and good guide. read more

We had a blast on this tour. The only thing I would recommend was they divided up the group between two guides and they should have done a slow place group and a faster pace group. Half of the people in our group were first timers and couldn't keep up and we had to keep stopping to wait for them. My boyfriend and I did the jet ski tour and had a blast! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our tour guide Corey was amazing. He gave clear instructions, shared cool information about the locations we stopped by. He assisted my boyfriend in getting me on being I had a small foot injury. He also offered to take a picture of my boyfriend and I and send is the pictures. We got lucky enough to be the only ones on the 6 pm tour. Corey was like our personal tour guide. He warned us when the waters would get choppy and when the water was calm. He took us to a shallow part where we we're able to roam free on the jet ski and get off and take a dip. Overall a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend. Corey was by far a great tour guide and we took a lot of different tours during our visit. When we returned the staff was all Ready to help get me off making sure we received the assistance we needed. read more

Con: Only Con for me was more instruction coming back towards the shore since it was rough water coming in. Atlantic side was rough but that is not the tours fault Pros: Water was calm and shallow on the gulf side and we got free time to explore that section on our own. Tour guide was funny which made the tour a lot of fun. I highly recommend this tour to anyone in Key West. We had such a great time on the tour and that is why I gave them 5 stars. If the Atlantic is rough and you are a beginner you might want to rethink going on the tour. read more

Paid full price for a 90 min tour and got a 70 min rushed ride around the key. Little to no commentary from guides about sites around the area. Guides spend more time (4 times) telling us that gratuities are expected and 20% is normal. Not personable and enjoyable like other tours we've taken. Look for other alternatives. read more

We were a party of 3. 2 adults & a 10yo. Our trip was amazing, & we had wonderful weather. Please note, the Gulf side of jet skiing is smooth as silk, but the Atlantic is more rough, wavy, & choppy. You'll need to prepare for a bit of bouncing, & also to warn your kids of such if they're timid. Don't take any cell phones or personal items unless you put in a waterproof case around your neck & secure w/your life jacket. Your guide can take pics of you, but the rest you'll need to remember in your mind. Wipe down your (sun)glasses w/something that repels water, or you won't see a thing from the ocean spray. Go sparingly on face sunscreen around the eyes or that plus the saltwater will have your eyes stinging, & you wasting time trying to wipe/sooth your eyes. Reon was our guide, & very experienced. He was patient, & knowledgeable. Showed us some amazing sites. We toured the entire island, & it was super cool to experience it all from the water side. Our only regret is not doing it sooner in the trip so we could take advantage of some of the awesome places pointed out on tour. We left the next day, by car, & were also extremely sore, so remember that in the event you have something the next day that soreness would make less fun. Our total tour group was 6. Us 3, & another small family of 3. Only 4 jet skis total, so it was low key, & awesome. Highly recommend. The only reason for a 4 star rating is that it was super chaotic once we arrived. Apparently someone walked off the job. Nobody could answer questions, & it made us all very nervous at 1st. Fortunately that calmed once our guide came off the water & could assist. I purchased tickets in advance for me and my husband for the Jet Ski excursion. Spoke with Daniel (I think that's his name). Anyway, he was very informative and answered all my questions with no hesitation. We even received a discount. Boom! After reserving the tickets over the phone, Daniel instructed me that once exiting our cruise line to walk towards the red building on the island. Perfect instructions. On the day of the excursion we connected with our driver Tony. Note: They don't have a sign on their van of many white vans in the area....Yikes! I took a chance and just assumed and was correct. Anyway, Tony was friendly and even gave us a little history of the Owner and about Key West. Once we arrived to the site (Marriott Beachside), we were greeted by Perry and Derrick. Derrick went over the forms/waiver process. Perry was our tour guide who went in detail on the excursion. Once in the water, we were instructed to follow in a single line. The first part was fun getting to ride the waves. Perry our tour guide told us whomever wanted to go slower to stay in the back. We stopped along the way and a few times and at one point since we were last in line we got behind someone who was really slow, so we passed them. I know...I know, we don't do well will following instructions. It was all good...no one had a problem with it. We had one issue in which our jet ski died on us because of a seaweed issue. NOTE: Seaweed can get trapped in the engine and prevent it from moving. Fortunately, Perry noticed we were no longer apart of the group and came back to assist us. He was a little frustrated but patient at the same time. Finally we stopped to have 20 minutes of free riding. We went full throttle and had a blast riding the waves. Overall for a first time, we enjoyed the trip and would do it again. read more

Came from New York to spend time with my family and had an amazing time! Mike as well as our instructor ( forgot his name :( ) were amazing! My grandmother and cousin went on one jet ski and my little sister who was 17 rode one too! They had an amazing time! The best part of my whole trip was this experience! Especially when you get alittle free time to swim in the clear water from the Gulf of Mexico or just play around with your jet ski for around 10/15 mins! Amazing time! The reason I give it 4 stars is because you need to be in a single line all the time throughout your tour, I wanted for all us to be scattered and riding next to eachother however I understand it was a safely precaution! read more
