    Chili cheese fries

We were recommended to this restaurant by our neighbors, they've raved about it for at least a year and we finally made it on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated immediately upon arrival and given the option of indoor or outdoor seating. Ty was our server and our service was great. I wanted an apple martini, they were unable to accommodate the apple but Ty made me a custom mango martini which was tasty. We ordered a Reuben sandwich with chili cheese fries, and a rosemary chicken sandwich with fries. I did not try the Reuben sandwich but the rosemary chicken sandwich and the chili cheese fries were both very flavorful and there was plenty of chicken in the rosemary chicken sandwich. We'll definitely be back.

stopped by for a quick bite after a long day of hiking and taking our doggies for an adventure. I ordered the pesto fettuccine & had plenty of leftovers for me to take home. We sat outside the restaurant on the patio with plenty of shade. The service & staff were awesome, patient, and brought our dogs water unprompted. Such a thoughtful gesture. We also tried some corn bread at the time which was devoured by my husband, he was a big fan. Also ordered a margarita, was delicious, balanced, & crisp/refreshing. the bathrooms were clean, the dinner crowd was coming in as we were leaving & it looked lively. hoping to stop by again for future trips. 5 stars from me & the doggo

    Eggplant sandwich

Located downtown Fairfax in a really cool neighborhood. There is a big parking lot across the street with free parking. The cafe is right on the corner. We were able to get a table in the morning without any reservations. Ordered: 1. Corned beef breakfast: I liked my corned beef and i liked that it was in big chunks rather than it being really fine strips were it's soggy and mixed into hash browns. It was seasoned well and went well with the potatos. Also cooked my poached eggs well! 2. Egg Plant sandwich: My wife really liked this and the eggplant wasn't too muchy but also very flavorful. Overall, service was good and they were polite and attentive. Clean restaurant. The prices on their website isn't reflective of their menu however and it's more expensive on the updated menu in the restaurant. They also do have more options in the restaurant as well. Solid breakfast choice in Fairfax.

Excellent selections for breakfast & brunch. We needed to find s new breakfast place and Barefoot Cafe won our hearts. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful as well. But the service was impeccable. We appreciate you, BC!! Thank you!

A wonderful breakfast in the adorable little town of Fairfax. This is a very clean restaurant that is nicely decorated and very comfortable. Their menu is well rounded and the service was both attentive and thoughtful. I'm sure the lunch and dinner experience is equally good, and I'm excited to return soon. 5 stars.

Chilaquiles, banana pecan waffle and a cappuccino

Food was pretty good but extremely pricey for what I got (chilaquiles, waffle and cappuccino). Nice, lively location with outdoor seating and the waiting staff were all really nice, but most likely will not be coming back.

    Great Warm Spinach Salad

The salads here are really exceptional. I had the Warmed Spinach Salad, which includes bacon and mushrooms. It's incredible! The light dressing and generous amount of spinach made it one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended!

The service here is amazing ! They're kind and quick with service. I got the burger the chef make the food amazing and they have cute little table decorations. I got an espresso martini and it was great

    Barefoot Special

Barefoot Café I've always driven by Fairfax but have never stopped for a bit until today! Coming back from a backpacking trip from point Reyes I was starving. I got the Barefoot Special (20.95), which came with sautéed mushrooms, onions, and blue cheese. The portion was generous, with a hefty 1/2 pound of meat, but it was a bit too overbearing for my taste. The side Caesar salad was a nice touch, adding a refreshing balance to the meal. The sautéed mushrooms were done well and added a good depth of flavor. Solid meal overall. Staff were wonderful as well. I don't think I've ever had a burger that filling.

    Chicken Marsala

We stopped in for a quick and simple dinner but we were so pleasantly surprised! The food was incredible! The chicken Marsala (shown), New York steak with herb and lime butter (so unexpected and delicious), rack of lamb and bucatini with meatballs were all extraordinary! Ty was our waiter and was friendly, knew everything about the menu, and gave us great suggestions! Perfect evening out! Highly recommend this place

    Pesto Fettuccini

Our waiter was immediately very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant itself has a beautiful ambiance, and while I visited at night, the brunch menu looked delicious and I think it would be the perfect spot for a Sunday morning. I got the fettuccine pesto pasta, which was delicious. The complimentary cornbread we received on arrival was also a great start to the meal. The portion size was also wonderful for the price. For coming so close to closing time, our waiter still gave us a wonderful experience and the food hit the spot.

It delivers the Gott's you know, but nothing here pushed past solid. We got an Impossible Burger, a cheeseburger, fries, and the veggies with hummus. The cheeseburger was the standout, classic griddled patty, melted cheese, lettuce and pickle on a soft bun. Tasted good. Not Shake Shack good, but good. The fries were fine. The veggies with hummus felt thin for what you pay. For two people at lunch this added up faster than expected, on par with the other locations but still pricey for what lands on the tray. Ordering was smooth and the service was great. Food came out fast. The space is bigger than you'd think, with indoor and outdoor seating under umbrellas, and we had no trouble grabbing a table inside even with a crowd. It stays clean, and it's not as loud as you'd expect given all the kids and open layout. Beer, wine, and drinks are on offer, and there's a full bar area with TVs running soccer. Parking is easy since it sits in a large center, but watch yourself. People walk right in front of moving cars like the lot belongs to them. ADA spots are up front. Fun place to eat and people-watch. I'd come back if I were in the area, but Bon Air has a lot of other choices, so look around before you commit.

We were given bracelets that gave us access to two drinks, which was a fun self-pour experience. That said, it would've been helpful to get a quick tip on pouring (like tilting your glass) beforehand--foam can sneak up on you fast , especially with so many people around. Because it was busy, we were also given a card that allowed unlimited access to the games, which was awesome and made the night even better. I definitely enjoyed my time here. The owner also mentioned that you can rent individual tables or even the whole venue for events, which is something I'd absolutely consider in the future. I'll definitely be back.

Times have definitely been hard for the restaurant industry during COVID, so I think it's wonderful that this event is there to help support the local restaurants on 4th street. Not sure if this event will be ongoing, but I think it would be an excellent idea to have something that goes on like this every summer. The Tuesday was very negative for me. What a terrible way to do comedy. I am a veteran comedian, and sat around for hours all night with 0 communication and no idea what is going on. Really truly not what open mic should be, or shows or anything related to do comedy. Am I doing 90 seconds or a few minutes or what? What's with cameras that I gave 0 consent to. I surely hope they don't post my content without my consent. If they do.....oh boy.... This is just terrible and unprofessional. Comedians, please have more self respect than this and do not support the wacko nature of this venue. Audience... well, whatever, you'll figure it out if quality comics stop going. The owner later contacted me about this review asking I take it down based on their Thursday night shows which I did not attend. A great show on thursday is not a great show on Tuesday. He suggested I was hurting the comedy community with this review. I think new comics are afraid to speak up and this type of show needs to be called and needs a serious over haul on organization skills and an owner that needs to learn to pick their battles. He blamed me for not understanding the show, which sure, I didn't, but it felt very much like I wasn't even going to perform. You want talent listen to them, or keep blaming them. I think performers pursuing comedy should go somewhere else on a Tuesday.
