I love their Cubano latte! I've also had their bagels, how can you go wrong? This is an enjoyable place to study or chill with friendsies. Staff are pretty nice and brisk. Haven't tried their pastries, wish they were fresher. The prices are also steep. Overall, it's a charming local place. read more

We've been to Barefoot Coffee Roasters quite a few times since it's so close to our condo, and it's always been a go-to spot for us. It's popular for a reason. Good food, great location, and usually a really solid experience. This time, though, didn't quite land the same. Because the line was long, we decided to place an online pickup order, which was super easy to do. Most of us ordered the Cardiff Scramble (with sourdough), and overall, it was good. Nothing wildly unique, but fresh, solid, and satisfying. One thing to note though, the pico de gallo is mixed into the scramble, not served on top. That matters if you don't like onions or have an allergy since there wasn't an option online to remove it. Timing was where things started to slip. Our order was ready about 25 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, which was frustrating. The team was very kind and offered us a free coffee or latte for the delay, which we appreciated. That said, we ended up waiting again for those drinks until a manager stepped in to prioritize them so we could leave. Then, after we got home (literally a 2-minute drive), we got a call that they had forgotten our açaí bowl. They were quick to catch it, which I appreciated, but having to go back was inconvenient. And unfortunately, by the time we got it home, it had completely melted and wasn't really edible. Food-wise: * Smoked salmon bagel was excellent, no notes. * Cardiff scramble was good, just be aware of the pico situation. * Mango pineapple smoothie... I'd skip it. We swapped to whole milk due to an almond allergy, and it just tasted off. Overall, this place has been a 5-star spot for us in the past. This visit felt more like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to 4 because the team was genuinely kind and tried to make it right. Just one of those off days, but worth noting if you're ordering ahead. read more

I went to Barefoot Coffee Roasters last weekend and had a great experience overall. I ordered a flat white, which actually is not on their menu, but they knew exactly how to make it, which felt like a good sign right away. It was fantastic. The coffee was strong, smooth, and really flavorful. I also grabbed a breakfast sandwich with spinach on an everything bagel. That one was just mid, nothing bad but nothing memorable either. Quick heads up if you go on a Saturday: it was extremely busy when I was there because a big group of bicyclists had stopped in. So expect a bit of a crowd. Still, if you are there for the coffee, it is worth it. read more

Fun coffee shop offering limited seating options inside and additional seating outside on their patio, a comfortable walking distance from the Cedros Avenue Design District sign. While some coffee shops are mainly open during the early part of the day, what fun finding a coffee shop open 7 AM - 5 PM daily, which (although we'd ordered only coffee drinks) also offers food, smoothies, beer, wine, and kombucha -- and gluten-free and vegan options. Lovely rustic coffee shop located in beautiful Solana Beach on the south end of Cedros. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Finding seats can be difficult during the weekend. So go early or later in the afternoon. Their menu is standard fare with its selection of coffees, baked goods, sandwiches, and avocado toasts. There are several coffee places to explore on Cedros and, although I found the service lackluster, with the woman taking my order completely disengaged , I would still encourage you to experience this place. I have met friends here because of its easygoing, relaxed vibe and their delicious hot Lavendar latte. read more

Excellent spot in Solana Beach, right on Main Street. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Since I went on a weekend, the line to order was quite long, but because many people were ordering to go, I was still able to find a table. A first time group of job seekers met here and it was the perfect place (until the blazing sun shone!). Friendly staff. Has an inside but it also has a great patio area which we pretty much took over. While most had a coffee, I also had breakfast. A tasty egg scramble with avocado, cheese and more (see picture). I'm testing a new theory...and it's that anyone who is willing to invest in a Slayer espresso machine, they care a lot about their beans. So stop three on my Slayer-theory tour is Barefoot Coffee roasters. And for the first time, my theory is turning out to be flawed. I also have a side-theory that says if I'm offered soda water with my espresso, it's also a sign of quality. Well, Barefoot has a Slayer AND offers soda water but the espresso...misses the mark. It had a nice fruitiness but was over-roasted, resulting in a bitter shot. My son got a Voodoo iced drink that is made with chocolate, espresso, and a coconut/sweet milk blend that was delicious. So my impression that I'm walking away is that it's a little hit-and-miss. I'd give the espresso a 3 but the Voodoo saved it. I might go back if I'm on Cedros for the shops or at the farmers market, but I'll pass on them if I'm only looking for a shot by itself. read more

Awesome coffee shop in Solana Beach! We stopped in for some weekend coffee and breakfast and had a great experience. Both the iced vanilla latte and ice Cubano latte were delicious. We also had the tri tip scramble which was very very good. Lots of options in food for baked goods, breakfast, sandwiches and much more! The location is nice with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Would be a great place to study or work as well as just get coffee and relax. Staff were super friendly and the coffee came out really quick even though they were busy. Would absolutely recommend a visit! read more

Service is not the best and the wait time is unreal. 40 minutes for a bagel sandwich. Tried to order ahead and even then expect to wait 20 minutes past the pick up time. Today, i ordered an hour ahead of time (11:55) got there to pick it up at 12:10, still wasn't ready and they were out of avocado. I don't understand how they can't get a bagel sandwich out. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the food is good and they have good organic options, just insane wait time that ruins the whole experience read more

I've enjoyed coming here as a Solana Beach local for some time now. Unfortunately over the last few months I've noticed the service has gotten worse, the staff not very pleasant, and the food mediocre, hair in the food and long wait times. When you sit outside flies are swarming all over the place, the trash is completely overflowing. When you say "for here" and they still bring you a wasteful paper or plastic cup.... This place has potential but misses the mark. read more

Cedros Avenue in Solana beach is full of coffee shops and more are being added. I've been visiting Barefoot Coffee Roasters for a couple years now and as previous reviewers pointed out, service is really hit or miss (not really deserving tips). I mainly come here for the food, they got great breakfast sandwiches and bagels. It gets VERY busy on the weekends and since many people occupy tables with their laptops, finding an open table can be challenging. On my last visit i ordered a quiche and it wasn't heated properly so ill stick to sandwiches. read more

Visited recently and found it to be decent overall. The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff was polite. The coffee was good but not outstanding, and the food selection was fairly limited. I tried the matcha latte - lightly sweetened- which came with zero sweetness, and lacked the robust flavor I was hoping for. A Hidden Gem on Cedros - Barefoot Coffee Roasters is a Must-Visit! I stumbled upon Barefoot Coffee Roasters while exploring Cedros Avenue and I'm so glad I did. This place is a total vibe -- warm, inviting, and effortlessly cool. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and you can tell they're genuinely passionate about coffee. A disclaimer on this review, I didn't have any coffee! Just a sandwich and a cookie. I love this place for a few reasons: - plenty of seating compared to many coffee shops - lots of food options in addition to coffee - air conditioning!!! - super friendly service I had such a lovely experience here grabbing lunch to go. I had my newborn with me and couldn't stay but was looking for something quick and easy to take with me. The seasonal pesto sandwich was 5/5 - I love pesto so this was an easy win for me! The pesto was creamy, baguette was perfectly crispy and it overall hit the spot. I ordered it with a side salad but they accidentally gave me chips, so they gave me both :) Glad I could try both options - was glad to get my greens in AND some chips! They also had a gigantic cookie in the window and I decided on a whim it would be a lovely treat. The cashier also agreed that it was AMAZING and she wasn't wrong - it was just as good as it looked! Next time I'll actually try the coffee but have had a lovely experience even without their main item! read more

The people behind the counter we eloquent and efficient along with being kind and patient. My wife was pretty indecisive and they worked with us till she finally knew what she wanted. The food was delicious, we got the Lox Bagel and the Dirty Avocado toast. I'll admit it's very difficult to mess those two meals up, they elevated both of them. The whole reason we went though was for coffee and we were FAR from disappointed. We got the Blood Orange Basil Latte and the Blackberry Vanilla Latte and both tasted perfect, each sip of the Blood Orange Basil had a nice scent of basil with the leaf in there. You really can't go wrong here, the tables outside gave you a nice area to sit relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. A+ 10/10 no notes, excepts for the positive ones above. Not saying anyone's review is wrong but the 2 Star review definitely was incorrect
