I don't go to Solana often, but Barefoot is a classic when I'm around! The team is so nice, and I love how much seating there is outside to enjoy SD's perfect weather + work/read. We got the Cubano's with oat - the muscovado sugar adds nice sweetness, and makes for the perfect iced latte!

Mocha Borgia which is a chocolate orange latte was a unique menu item that reminded me of chocolate oranges I always get around the winter holidays. Delightful flavor combination. The espresso itself lacked a strong flavor for me which was helped by the chocolate orange. Cute shop that also sells beer on tap and a variety of food items with allergen friendly labels. Gluten free granola and baked goods available. Indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas was nice. Seems like a popular place to work or study on the weekend with most indoor tables taken by people working on their laptops.

I think the ambience of barefoot coffee is really delightful. Very be spoke, very unique shape in the interior architecture. The staff there made me a very excellent quad shot Vanilla Latte.

We've been to Barefoot Coffee Roasters quite a few times since it's so close to our condo, and it's always been a go-to spot for us. It's popular for a reason. Good food, great location, and usually a really solid experience. This time, though, didn't quite land the same. Because the line was long, we decided to place an online pickup order, which was super easy to do. Most of us ordered the Cardiff Scramble (with sourdough), and overall, it was good. Nothing wildly unique, but fresh, solid, and satisfying. One thing to note though, the pico de gallo is mixed into the scramble, not served on top. That matters if you don't like onions or have an allergy since there wasn't an option online to remove it. Timing was where things started to slip. Our order was ready about 25 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, which was frustrating. The team was very kind and offered us a free coffee or latte for the delay, which we appreciated. That said, we ended up waiting again for those drinks until a manager stepped in to prioritize them so we could leave. Then, after we got home (literally a 2-minute drive), we got a call that they had forgotten our açaí bowl. They were quick to catch it, which I appreciated, but having to go back was inconvenient. And unfortunately, by the time we got it home, it had completely melted and wasn't really edible. Food-wise: * Smoked salmon bagel was excellent, no notes. * Cardiff scramble was good, just be aware of the pico situation. * Mango pineapple smoothie... I'd skip it. We swapped to whole milk due to an almond allergy, and it just tasted off. Overall, this place has been a 5-star spot for us in the past. This visit felt more like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to 4 because the team was genuinely kind and tried to make it right. Just one of those off days, but worth noting if you're ordering ahead.

I went to Barefoot Coffee Roasters last weekend and had a great experience overall. I ordered a flat white, which actually is not on their menu, but they knew exactly how to make it, which felt like a good sign right away. It was fantastic. The coffee was strong, smooth, and really flavorful. I also grabbed a breakfast sandwich with spinach on an everything bagel. That one was just mid, nothing bad but nothing memorable either. Quick heads up if you go on a Saturday: it was extremely busy when I was there because a big group of bicyclists had stopped in. So expect a bit of a crowd. Still, if you are there for the coffee, it is worth it.

Fun coffee shop offering limited seating options inside and additional seating outside on their patio, a comfortable walking distance from the Cedros Avenue Design District sign. While some coffee shops are mainly open during the early part of the day, what fun finding a coffee shop open 7 AM - 5 PM daily, which (although we'd ordered only coffee drinks) also offers food, smoothies, beer, wine, and kombucha -- and gluten-free and vegan options. Cool staff. Great spot for hanging out!

A wonderful coffee and breakfast location, CS is great, they are busy but orders are processed in a timely manner. Their Coffee drinks are delicious and "Spot On" in terms of flavor. The Avocado Toast and Toasted Bagel and Cream Cheese were marvelous.

Lovely rustic coffee shop located in beautiful Solana Beach on the south end of Cedros. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Finding seats can be difficult during the weekend. So go early or later in the afternoon. Their menu is standard fare with its selection of coffees, baked goods, sandwiches, and avocado toasts. There are several coffee places to explore on Cedros and, although I found the service lackluster, with the woman taking my order completely disengaged , I would still encourage you to experience this place. I have met friends here because of its easygoing, relaxed vibe and their delicious hot Lavendar latte.

Excellent spot in Solana Beach, right on Main Street. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Since I went on a weekend, the line to order was quite long, but because many people were ordering to go, I was still able to find a table. It's a great place to study or work in Solana Beach, and the latte and bagel were both good as well.

Egg scramble of some sort with sour dough bread- mmmmm

A first time group of job seekers met here and it was the perfect place (until the blazing sun shone!). Friendly staff. Has an inside but it also has a great patio area which we pretty much took over. While most had a coffee, I also had breakfast. A tasty egg scramble with avocado, cheese and more (see picture). It was very healthy in how it was made and the portion seemed small but was actually the perfect amount! My first time out to this area, recommend it!

the coffee was pretty good! the matcha wasn't that good but it usually isn't at coffee shops. the service was impeccable and the vibe was perfect to study/work from home there!

I'm testing a new theory...and it's that anyone who is willing to invest in a Slayer espresso machine, they care a lot about their beans. So stop three on my Slayer-theory tour is Barefoot Coffee roasters. And for the first time, my theory is turning out to be flawed. I also have a side-theory that says if I'm offered soda water with my espresso, it's also a sign of quality. Well, Barefoot has a Slayer AND offers soda water but the espresso...misses the mark. It had a nice fruitiness but was over-roasted, resulting in a bitter shot. My son got a Voodoo iced drink that is made with chocolate, espresso, and a coconut/sweet milk blend that was delicious. So my impression that I'm walking away is that it's a little hit-and-miss. I'd give the espresso a 3 but the Voodoo saved it. I might go back if I'm on Cedros for the shops or at the farmers market, but I'll pass on them if I'm only looking for a shot by itself.

If you're strolling the cedros ave design district I recommend stopping here, there is a lot of other coffee shops along the line but this is my overall best choice. They have so many gluten free options and such a serene seating area. After going store to store and getting a bit hungry my family and I ordered one gluten free caprese an avocado goat salad and avocado toast. The only thing is they didn't have olive oil or lemons for the salad when I stopped by and so I was a little worried about how much I would enjoy the salad but despite my concern the salad was so delicious and FILLING! I was so happy with my order. The caprese toast my daughter had was incredible and it was hard to believe it was gluten free because it was THAT good, next time we have to give their gluten free breads a try! And my son's avocado toast was so perfectly seasoned. They have a wide variety of kombucha as well and I highly suggest everyone to give it a try! The blueberry bambucha was such a refreshing choice to accompany the feel good food we had. It was fun while we waited to play with their chess boards and write in the cafe notebook about things we were grateful for. I wish I was local so I could come more often but I couldn't have asked for a better time spent.

Just go elsewhere. You'll end up waiting way too long for even the simplest of orders.

We each got to order a pot of tea, so we decided to order 5 different ones to try out more flavors together. The ones we picked were: -Jasmine orange oolong - Coconut milk green tea - Earl grey lavender - Vanilla cream -Strawberry rose champagne oolong tea My top two favorites were the jasmine orange oolong and the coconut milk green tea. The only flavor that none of us enjoyed was the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea, so when it came time for refills, we switched it to the rouge provence. For the food, there were four finger sandwiches: chicken breast, smoked salmon, cucumbers, and chopped spinach. We all liked the chicken breast one the most, and felt like the cucumbers and chopped spinach could have been combined into one sandwich for a more balanced flavor. For sweets, there was the seasonal scone, fruit tart, macaron, and donut. I loved the scone with the butter and fruit preserves, as well as the fruit tart. The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. All in all, I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience!

It's a nice cafe in Solana Beach. The service is amazing and their specialty Lattes are what I go for. I enjoy the French and Brazilian cafe music they play in the background. The Lattes I go for are The Gardener (lavender, honey, vanilla) and The Farmer(vanilla and brown sugar). Made with organic espresso and love. Instead of treating customers with even basic courtesy, she was annoyed that anyone was there. A simple question was met with a nasty attitude, and the interaction left us feeling completely unwelcome. I saw her speak to other customers in the same manner, so it wasn't just us. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't any better. It was poorly made, tasted burnt and bitter, and wasn't worth finishing. For a coffee shop, that's the one thing that should be done well. There are plenty of other local cafés where you'll be treated with respect and get a much better cup of coffee. Only draw is the bunnies, who I really hope Samantha treats with more care and kindness than she does her customers; I honestly am concerned for their wellbeing after experiencing how Samantha treats people.

This would have been an average San Diego coffee shop experience for me, except for the fact that I absolutely LOVED the cherry bomb! It's a cherry mocha and essentially a perfect drink for me. Back in 2019, Starbucks had a seasonal cherry mocha for Valentine's Day that I was obsessed with. Apparently I was the only one, because they haven't brought it back since. Cherry mochas are hard to come by, and I haven't really encountered another one. This one was delicious! The espresso was bold, the milk perfectly creamy, and the overall taste not too sweet (unlike Starbucks'). Wow!! I can already tell this will be a drink I daydream about. Unfortunately it was $7.50, which will prevent me from indulging very regularly. The rest of the menu is pricey too, with avocado toasts nearly reaching $20. (I may be a millennial, but I can certainly understand the negative stereotype when I see coffee shop prices like these.) Besides pricing, the other downside of this place is the limited seating. There were only 4 small outdoor tables, so unless you're with just one other person and you arrive before 10am, I'd suggest grabbing your coffee to go and taking a walk. My friend and I sat down, since there were open tables when we arrived. She enjoyed her iced honey cinnamon latte. If you love a cherry mocha or are looking for coffee in the design district, definitely come through!
