    Mushroom pizza

Amazing pizza! Organic and local ingredients and absolutely delicious and fresh - one of the most flavorful pizza toppings and crust was crunchy and soft inside and smells like sourdough. So good! The best and only place we will eat when in the area.

Was traveling and driving from Olympic Park and were amazed by the pizza - it was one of the best pizzas we've ever eaten. We could taste the quality in ingredients and especially appreciate the organic and local support they give to farms, it means a lot. The first encounter was with a worker who wasn't nice but then the other worker probably owner heard that and helped us out with reservation. The other thing was that the soup was extremely sweet like a dessert. So just keep this in mind! :)

Customer service and food quality outstanding! Found this wonderful bistro using Yelp! Finished riding the Olympic Discovery Trail and was hungry. Website reservations recommended...earliest reservation was 7:30 pm. It was 5:15 pm and we were hungry. Called the yesterday, they had seating on their outdoor heated patio...we gave them our name and drove right over. I understand the requirement for a reservation it's a small venue that looks like it was once a house. We were seated on the patio, over our table was a heater, it was turned on for us and our chairs had blankets as well. The outdoor spot was warm and cozy. We ordered our drinks and truffle fries for an appetizer. Found that the menu had unique vegetarian options. We ordered them...panell tower and wood fired veggie frittata "lasagna"...both dishes were delicious!! The frittata was beets coated in a batter. Between the two beet frittata was tomato sauce , cheese and an array of seasonal veggies. Have never had anything like it...wow! Flavorful and beautifully presented. Because it was my birthday we ordered the cheese cake, can't remember the flavor, we enjoyed it, every last drop. After eating here , I envied the local community, what a wonderful neighborhood bistro. Our server was friendly, attentive...perfect amount of customer oversight. When in Sequim, will definitely be a return customer. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed!

Found this place on the internet, and it did not disappoint. We were welcomed by an amazing, professional and friendly staff. While reservations are recommended, they were able to accommodate our party of 5 with about a 15-minute wait. We were seated in these beautiful, cozy outdoor seating area surrounded by a lovely flower garden and fire stands to keep us warm. They also provided these cozy lap blankets, if necessary. Once seated, our waitress, Libby, was quick to respond with a carafe of lemon water, menus and review of the day's specials. She knew our group hasn't seen one another in over 10 years, so she was patient with us in catching up while perusing the menu. They offered a plethora of vegan and vegetarian options (something that has been difficult for me to find since being in the Olympic Peninsula). We ordered a Root vegetable Fritter for appetizers (sorry, forgot to take a picture). It was superb and crunchy. For entrees, we ordered the King Salmon (special of the night), Veggie Fritter 'lasagna', Panelle Tower (chickpea polenta), and vegan herbivore pizza. It was absolutely amazing in everything we tried. Can't even describe but worth every bite. We finished up the night with some desserts: raspberry sorbet, a lemon pie (to die for), and a dark chocolate ganache dessert with vanilla bean ice cream. This night was a fabulous way to reconnect with old friends while wrapping up a week-long trek through the Olympic National Park. Thank you, Libby, for helping make tonight's night a great one. If in town, we will stop here again!

Are you kidding me?! This place is so crazy good. Creative, local, so delicious! I love the art on the walls. The service is above and beyond. The ambience is great. We are incredibly lucky to have this gem in our town. Would love extended hours for lunch time and Sundays but that's just pie in the sky. Thanks for being one of the best restaurants I've been to in Washington- keep up the incredible work!

Alder Wood Bistro in Sequim, Washington. Thank you, for enticing us with among the most memorable meals we've had during this roadtrip to the Pacific Northwest. Fresh and local ingredients, paired with a charming edible garden setting that made us miss our home garden and appreciate their efforts in providing a haven for comforting foods and vibes.

I was recently out one night in Seattle and mentioned that I was going to Sequim that week. Someone said, " Go to Alder Wood Bistro," so I did with my eight-year-old son. It was the middle of vacation week from school and we didn't have a reservation. The staff was so incredibly kind and sat us out on their heated patio. We had a blast--delicious food and great service. I took my son back up to Sequim this weekend and made it a point to go back. Again, the food and the staff were top-notch! I am from the New York area and I'm very particular about pizza. This place is a gem. The food is exceptional, the staff is personable, and the atmosphere is excellent ... It doesn't matter if you have a little kid or if you're out on a date, it just has a great vibe! As we continue to go back because (Sequim is an easy and awesome get away from Seattle), we will keep coming back to Alder Wood Bistro! P.S. And the cocktails are really, really good! The Mezcalita=

Was in the mood for good wood fired pizza and this place did not disappoint! Came by right when they opened and ordered the mushroom and white sauce pizza. It had caramelized onions and was delicious. Also tried a special of the day pizza. It had a red sauce and a bunch of unique toppings (including kimchi) and it was good too! It had purple potatoes on it and that is the only ingredient I would have skipped. Crust was perfect and the pizzas were cooked to perfection as well. The restaurant is in a small house and reservations are highly recommended. Service was really good too, fast, friendly, and attentive. Would definitely come back if I am in the area!

The special of the evening. pasta with black cod and mussels in a light cream sauce with citrus...yumm

Great spot in the middle of downtown Sequim. Service was amazing, and the food, delish! Definitely recommend.

After a first attempt where a restaurant's hours were not updated, we found Stymie's in Sequim. It's one of the restaurants at Cedars at Dungeness golf course (the other one is Double Eagle Steak and Seafood). It seems to be the more casual of the two options and we opted for it since we were in hiking clothes. The hostess told us we could walk in and try to find a table. She warned us it might be a long wait. Thankfully, we found a place to sit right away and a waiter gave us waters and a menu. We ordered cups of clam chowder to start. Thankfully they were out quickly. We got drinks while we waited for our food. The Dungeness crab Mac and cheese was listed as an appetizer, so we assumed it was a small portion. My husband got the fish and chips and I got pasta with shrimp. We got our entrees first, so we thought maybe the waitress had forgotten we ordered the Mac and cheese since they were so busy. She then apologized for the wait and said she'd be bringing it out shortly. We weren't planning on asking about it because their portions are very generous and even though we were hungry, we realized it was so much food. When the Dungeness crab Mac and cheese finally came out, it wasn't in a small cup, it was a whole bowl of delicious goodness. The Mac and cheese was resting in some sort of sauce and they were extremely generous with the crab. I loved that you could control the ratio with each bite. I wish I had taken pictures of the menu and its description, but all you need to know is that it's the BEST Mac and cheese I've ever had. I was floored that it wasn't mentioned in any review nor pictures. Maybe it's a new addition. Don't walk, RUN if you're nearby. You won't regret it and it will be worth the wait. I forgot all about my entree and just focused on the Mac.

She made reservations and chose outdoors, not realizing it would be so cold, so I was freezing in my cotton dress. When I asked if they had any heaters, they kindly offered blankets so I took two and bundled myself up. For the amuse bouche, we got a radish with baba ghanoush and some sort of blackberry balsamic. For the first course, I got shishito peppers with baba ghanoush. The peppers weren't too spicy and paired well with the baba ghanoush. It's not something I would have probably sought out to eat myself so it was nice to have something different. For the main course, I got a shiitake, oyster mushroom rice noodle curry. This was surprisingly filling to the point that I had to waste some of the rice noodles. For dessert, I got a pear ginger blackberry fruit crisp. It was nice that you could taste that it wasn't made with a bunch of added sugar or anything. My friend got the other vegan dessert which was a coconut tapioca pudding, which I also tried, and was nice and light and tart, with some figs at the top. Service was great. Our server asked right off the bat about dietary restrictions so I told her vegan, no honey for myself. There was a very long gap between course 1 and course 2 which may have led to me getting full earlier than anticipated, and then the gap between the entree and dessert wasn't as vast. Our entire dinner took about two hours at Nourish, 7-9pm, which is longer than we expected, but the food was a pleasant experience. As a vegan, a little more protein was top of mind when reading the menu, but I love that they created good vegetable based dishes without any mock meats or excess sodium or processed ingredients. My friend also really enjoyed her food. Priced at $78 per person, it's a nice night out. We recommend.

Ordering is usually done via QR code, but they are also happy to orders at the register. One thing to note: on our visit, the restaurant left the front door open and didn't turn on heating so we found it rather cold inside. Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bread Bowl ($14) - Salty Girls has one of the best preparations for chowder bread bowls I've encountered. They expertly hollow out the center as much as absolutely possible, leaving maybe only half an inch of bread on the sides (I think they use the trimmings to make their homemade croutons). This allows them to ladle in the maximal amount of clam chowder, much more than most I've had in the past. While I believe the bread is some commercial one, it has a distinct, but light, sourdough taste and doesn't have the overwhelming taste of stabilizers and preservatives that some bread bowls run into. It's toasted very nicely, giving a fantastic crust, while the interior bread remains light rather than dense, yet holds up to the chowder well. The chowder itself is pretty good. It's thickened, but still just runny enough to not feel like it's been over reduced. Not clumpy or super heavy as some other chowders. There's a strong herbal quality in the mix, combined with large pieces of clam and bacon. The amount of clam isn't very generous, but there's enough of the chewy mollusk to get at least a piece per spoonful. Lots of tender diced potato chunks complete the chowder. There's by far the most potato in terms of ingredients in this dish, making it very carb heavy. The chowder is served steaming hot and remains quite hot for a long while even in the cold air of the restaurant. (4/5) Crab Melt ($18) - Interesting open faced sandwich, with the crusty heel portion of a ciabatta roll, toasted until crispy on the flats, but still softer on the interior, albeit thin. It's topped with an ice cream scoop of crab salad. The salad is essentially tuna salad with the crab substituted for tuna. This means there's a ton of crab and not much filler - plenty of sweet shreds of crab meat, mixed with a couple of crunchy pieces of celery in a creamy sauce. The crab salad is then topped with cheese, then the entire creation is broiled until the cheese on top becomes bubbly and the cheese that flows down the sides of the bread becomes essentially a crunchy cheese skirt. Something to note, not necessarily a negative, is that the center of the crab salad scoops remains cold, which is in stark contrast to the warmed exterior. The dish comes with a side of ridged kettle chips. Robustly crunchy, simply salted. Surprisingly good to dip into the clam chowder in fact. (4/5) Salty Girls definitely serves some good seafood dishes. I certainly wouldn't mind returning the next time I'm in Seqium.
