We were looking for a good place to eat while visiting Olympic National Park, and we're so glad we chose this spot! Since we were in town over a holiday weekend, we were thankful we made a reservation because it was busy. The service was friendly and pretty prompt throughout our meal. We started with the special salad, which was fresh and flavorful -- a great way to kick things off. Then we had the four-cheese pizza with pepperoni, and it was absolutely delicious! The seasoning was just right, and we enjoyed every bite. To finish, we had the Chocolate Bliss for dessert. It was rich and soft on the inside, with a lovely raspberry filling that really came through. We'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area!

Amazing pizza! Organic and local ingredients and absolutely delicious and fresh - one of the most flavorful pizza toppings and crust was crunchy and soft inside and smells like sourdough. So good! The best and only place we will eat when in the area.

Was traveling and driving from Olympic Park and were amazed by the pizza - it was one of the best pizzas we've ever eaten. We could taste the quality in ingredients and especially appreciate the organic and local support they give to farms, it means a lot. The first encounter was with a worker who wasn't nice but then the other worker probably owner heard that and helped us out with reservation. The other thing was that the soup was extremely sweet like a dessert. So just keep this in mind! :)

Customer service and food quality outstanding! Found this wonderful bistro using Yelp! Finished riding the Olympic Discovery Trail and was hungry. Website reservations recommended...earliest reservation was 7:30 pm. It was 5:15 pm and we were hungry. Called the yesterday, they had seating on their outdoor heated patio...we gave them our name and drove right over. I understand the requirement for a reservation it's a small venue that looks like it was once a house. We were seated on the patio, over our table was a heater, it was turned on for us and our chairs had blankets as well. The outdoor spot was warm and cozy. We ordered our drinks and truffle fries for an appetizer. Found that the menu had unique vegetarian options. We ordered them...panell tower and wood fired veggie frittata "lasagna"...both dishes were delicious!! The frittata was beets coated in a batter. Between the two beet frittata was tomato sauce , cheese and an array of seasonal veggies. Have never had anything like it...wow! Flavorful and beautifully presented. Because it was my birthday we ordered the cheese cake, can't remember the flavor, we enjoyed it, every last drop. After eating here , I envied the local community, what a wonderful neighborhood bistro. Our server was friendly, attentive...perfect amount of customer oversight. When in Sequim, will definitely be a return customer. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed!

Found this place on the internet, and it did not disappoint. We were welcomed by an amazing, professional and friendly staff. While reservations are recommended, they were able to accommodate our party of 5 with about a 15-minute wait. We were seated in these beautiful, cozy outdoor seating area surrounded by a lovely flower garden and fire stands to keep us warm. They also provided these cozy lap blankets, if necessary. Once seated, our waitress, Libby, was quick to respond with a carafe of lemon water, menus and review of the day's specials. She knew our group hasn't seen one another in over 10 years, so she was patient with us in catching up while perusing the menu. They offered a plethora of vegan and vegetarian options (something that has been difficult for me to find since being in the Olympic Peninsula). We ordered a Root vegetable Fritter for appetizers (sorry, forgot to take a picture). It was superb and crunchy. For entrees, we ordered the King Salmon (special of the night), Veggie Fritter 'lasagna', Panelle Tower (chickpea polenta), and vegan herbivore pizza. It was absolutely amazing in everything we tried. Can't even describe but worth every bite. We finished up the night with some desserts: raspberry sorbet, a lemon pie (to die for), and a dark chocolate ganache dessert with vanilla bean ice cream. This night was a fabulous way to reconnect with old friends while wrapping up a week-long trek through the Olympic National Park. Thank you, Libby, for helping make tonight's night a great one. If in town, we will stop here again!

Are you kidding me?! This place is so crazy good. Creative, local, so delicious! I love the art on the walls. The service is above and beyond. The ambience is great. We are incredibly lucky to have this gem in our town. Would love extended hours for lunch time and Sundays but that's just pie in the sky. Thanks for being one of the best restaurants I've been to in Washington- keep up the incredible work!

Alder Wood Bistro in Sequim, Washington. Thank you, for enticing us with among the most memorable meals we've had during this roadtrip to the Pacific Northwest. Fresh and local ingredients, paired with a charming edible garden setting that made us miss our home garden and appreciate their efforts in providing a haven for comforting foods and vibes.

    Nice heated patio!

I was recently out one night in Seattle and mentioned that I was going to Sequim that week. Someone said, " Go to Alder Wood Bistro," so I did with my eight-year-old son. It was the middle of vacation week from school and we didn't have a reservation. The staff was so incredibly kind and sat us out on their heated patio. We had a blast--delicious food and great service. I took my son back up to Sequim this weekend and made it a point to go back. Again, the food and the staff were top-notch! I am from the New York area and I'm very particular about pizza. This place is a gem. The food is exceptional, the staff is personable, and the atmosphere is excellent ... It doesn't matter if you have a little kid or if you're out on a date, it just has a great vibe! As we continue to go back because (Sequim is an easy and awesome get away from Seattle), we will keep coming back to Alder Wood Bistro! P.S. And the cocktails are really, really good! The Mezcalita=

Was in the mood for good wood fired pizza and this place did not disappoint! Came by right when they opened and ordered the mushroom and white sauce pizza. It had caramelized onions and was delicious. Also tried a special of the day pizza. It had a red sauce and a bunch of unique toppings (including kimchi) and it was good too! It had purple potatoes on it and that is the only ingredient I would have skipped. Crust was perfect and the pizzas were cooked to perfection as well. The restaurant is in a small house and reservations are highly recommended. Service was really good too, fast, friendly, and attentive. Would definitely come back if I am in the area!

Even with our large group, the service was outstanding--true 5-star treatment from start to finish. The staff made sure we were all well taken care of. Many of us ordered the house-made fruit mimosas, and both the Peach Bellini and Raspberry versions were wonderful. The Bloody Marias were also excellent. The biscuits and gravy was a hefty, satisfying portion--the gravy was thick and loaded with sausage, and the biscuits were perfectly homemade. All the portions were generously large, so we shared everything around the table. Even the kids' meals were big enough that us adults were nibbling from them too! The kitchen staff must be incredibly efficient and talented to keep up with that pace. The omelets were large and filling, served with fresh fruit and thick pieces of toast. I even took home my untouched pancakes (they came with the omelet) for my mom. Everything was delicious and made with care. If you're in the Sequim area, make sure to come hungry and put this place on your list--you won't be disappointed!

We stopped in on Thanksgiving Day for breakfast, and even though they were packed, the kitchen still delivered. I ordered the classic breakfast--crispy bacon, perfectly done eggs, golden hashbrowns with just the right crunch, and an English muffin. Everything tasted fresh, familiar, and comforting. My friend had the biscuits and gravy with meat, and it was exactly what you want on a chilly Washington morning: hearty, flavorful, and seriously satisfying. Service was friendly, but with the holiday rush it was definitely a bit chaotic. We had to track someone down for coffee refills, which wasn't a huge deal but worth noting. Aside from that, the overall experience was great. If you're craving solid comfort food and a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe, Mariner Café is an easy recommendation--especially on cold days when you just want something warm and delicious. I'd definitely go back!

She made reservations and chose outdoors, not realizing it would be so cold, so I was freezing in my cotton dress. When I asked if they had any heaters, they kindly offered blankets so I took two and bundled myself up. For the amuse bouche, we got a radish with baba ghanoush and some sort of blackberry balsamic. For the first course, I got shishito peppers with baba ghanoush. The peppers weren't too spicy and paired well with the baba ghanoush. It's not something I would have probably sought out to eat myself so it was nice to have something different. For the main course, I got a shiitake, oyster mushroom rice noodle curry. This was surprisingly filling to the point that I had to waste some of the rice noodles. For dessert, I got a pear ginger blackberry fruit crisp. It was nice that you could taste that it wasn't made with a bunch of added sugar or anything. My friend got the other vegan dessert which was a coconut tapioca pudding, which I also tried, and was nice and light and tart, with some figs at the top. Service was great. Our server asked right off the bat about dietary restrictions so I told her vegan, no honey for myself. There was a very long gap between course 1 and course 2 which may have led to me getting full earlier than anticipated, and then the gap between the entree and dessert wasn't as vast. Our entire dinner took about two hours at Nourish, 7-9pm, which is longer than we expected, but the food was a pleasant experience. As a vegan, a little more protein was top of mind when reading the menu, but I love that they created good vegetable based dishes without any mock meats or excess sodium or processed ingredients. My friend also really enjoyed her food. Priced at $78 per person, it's a nice night out. We recommend.

Classic American cuisine, breakfast served all day, great comfort food - at an affordable price!…read moreWarning, this is a somewhat long review - to help you understand why I feel Paradise Cafe in Sequim, WA is worth 5 stars. If you're reviewing this restaurant, you need to understand this is a reestablished restaurant which was originally the Paradise Restaurant and shut down in November 2024 when the original owners retired (after 35 years of service) and then reopened in February 2025. Any reviews that date November 2024 and further do not apply to this restaurant. You need to understand the restaurant's new co-owners are also the cooks. On Yelp, they describe the restaurant as, "Classic American Cuisine. Breakfast served all day. Seafood and great comfort food." This restaurant does just that - with an extensive menu as well as daily specials. Today, a year and half after they reestablished the restaurant, we had the opportunity to try their food. A little background - while we're extreme out-of-towners, who live over 2600 miles away, we have visited Sequim 6 times in the last 5 years. We've visited in each season and simply love this town! Today, taking advantage of their daily specials, I ordered their Sourdough Burger and had Clam Chowder for my side. My wife ordered Liver and Onions (a rare treat for her) and I stole her Sweet Potato Fries (an extra $3). We also both ordered Lavender Lemonades and shared a slice of Lemon Merengue Pie. The Sourdough Burger was delicious and great! The Clam Chowder ok (I've had better, but it was still ok). My wife liked her Liver and Onions (as I mentioned, a rare treat for her). The Sweet Potato Fries were fried just right, plentiful and worth the extra $3! The Lavender Lemonades were really nice. I found it a little on the sweet/syrupy side, so I simply kept adding water until I was satisfied. The Lemon Merengue Pie, in my opinion, was not so great. Not sure why - maybe because my grandmother made one that was simply to-die-for and this couldn't compete? I do understand all the deserts are made in-house - maybe other deserts would be better. Leaves me curious. The servings were generous and plentiful (in fact, some four hours later, while I write this review, I'm still very full)! Did the restaurant serve "great comfort food" as advertised? In my opinion, indeed they did! Would I return for another meal? Yes - their food is good and their menu has enough diversity to eat something different for five days or more! Would I recommend this restaurant to someone else? Absolutely - local folks or visitors! Our bill was a little over $52. If we skipped the pie, we could've dined for under $45 - delicious bargain! Bonus: they played 70's music and wife enjoyed - there, I hit "ambiance" :)
