Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they often have samples you can take home and try. They have a wide selection of cat food, a dog self wash station, as well as baked goods for pets. For a specialty dog food store, I find their prices to be very reasonable and they have a rewards program you can sign up for. read more

I trotted into Bark Avenue at 6:50 PM, eager to give my furry friend a much-needed bath. There I was, waiting in line behind a guy paying for a self-service dog wash. He gets walked back to a station by an employee. So far, so good. But then, when I asked to use one of the three remaining open stations, I was informed that while the store closes at 8, the stations close at 7. Huh? I've been told before they stop allowing dog washes after 7 so there's enough time to finish the wash, which typically takes me 20-25 minutes. And what about the guy that you just waltzed over to wash his dog moments ago?! It's frustrating when rules seem to be applied differently for different customers. Fairness and consistency are important, folks! With other pet supply stores in the area, I'll be giving them a try before coming back here. After all, there's nothing particularly special about this spot. At least not special enough to overlook the ruff inconsistencies. read more

I love this place but today I showed up at 9:11 and the store wasn't open yet. I loitered in front of the door for a bit and kept reading the hours sign thinking I was misreading it. I didn't see anyone inside but apparently there were. Website and door say they open at 9. So my pup and I got back in the car. Although, he didn't want to. He likes going to the store. Just as we got in the car and started writing the review a worker unlocks the door. Glad I didn't pull out right away to go elsewhere but if this happens again I won't continue shopping here. I went out of my way to stop here and don't like unrealiability. The reason we like this store is because of the quality of toys and food. They carry Dobby's favorite treats Ziwi and Stella & Chewy's. We used to come to this location when it was Pet Club. They started becoming unreliable when they wouldn't have his food in stock. Food they recommended to me! Bark Avenue has a location in Mesa that I first started going to but then I changed jobs so it was no longer convenient to go there. I was so happy when the Gilbert location opened. Hopefully they get their act together at this location. read more

Very clean and organized store. I went in because I wanted to check it out as I have pets and live close. Staff was friendly greeted me as I came in and left. I feel like pet store is misleading. Granted it says Bark in the title it does not carry varieties for other pets.There was a small cat section but not much and it's all very high end and very expensive. So if your able to afford the best and highest priced food and toys for your dog it's perfect. They have dog baths but the price is steep as well. I needed cat litter I circled twice and if they have it it's not a lot and we'll hidden, and honestly probably out of my price range. read more

I came to Bark Avenue today after my local pet depot didn't have what I needed. I was searching for an equal quality dog food to what I was feeding my Goldendoodle (Layla) currently because the brand she was on, had changed ingredients and her food allergy couldn't support that change. Upon walking in and walk around for a few minutes Rachele greeted me and she was everything I needed and more for customer service. Rachele went above and beyond to learn my dogs habits, nutrition information, current diet, what my preferences are as an owner and used all of that plus her experience and knowledgeable expertise to make a recommendation for me WITH options. She made me still feel in control of what I could do with the unplanned change of dog food I had to make. Not only did she support my needs for my fur baby, but I watched her assist other customers via phone order, phone calls, and other in store customers all in the same visit. This place is a joke! We feed a raw diet (5 dogs), they advertise about delivery services which I opted to try. After weeks of having to field multiple calls from the staff and the manager about getting my order correct, this place continues to mess it up. Twice now I have no dog that was to be delivered. I have talked to Brandi a number of times. Horrible management at their two locations from this gal. Jeff, unfortunately has taken the brunt from me as I tell him this isn't rocket science. He keeps telling me they are working on an Excel spreadsheet but this has been going on for weeks now. Not to mention giving them my credit card every single time they call. Their staff has very little knowledge of their product. I might as well tell them how to feed a raw diet let alone set up an Excel spreadsheet for them! read more

We came here to bathe both of my dogs. They have been playing in their pool in the backyard and were VERY dirty. We saw that their location on google maps says they are closed but THEY ARE OPEN. The manager on the phone when asking about their hours was very nice and easy to talk to. Once we were there, the staff inside were friendly and the ere eager to show us how to use their washing stations for the dogs. They have shampoo, conditioner, towels or air dryers, brushes and treats for the doggos. They also have ramps leading up to their tubs. Afterwards, the ladies at the front desk asked if they could give them a treat so that way they didn't associate the bath as bad. We left with two very happy dogs at the end of our visit. We truly enjoy Bark Ave, and so do our boys. We used to make the drive out to the Mesa location but this newer Gilbert location is much closer and convenient. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We used the self service dog wash for the first time today and if you check in on yelp, your first time is free which was a nice treat. Extremely disappointed with my experience today. I used to take my two dogs here for a bath every month. I've been away for work for about four months and was excited to bring them back. Upon arrival I was notified the price has increased to $20 per dog. When I started to bathe my dogs I noticed that the soap dispensers were not operational. When I asked an associate I was informed "they haven't been working but you can use the shampoo bottle we provide." I asked about the conditioner and was then told they are out. So basically I was paying $40 for nothing. If things aren't working properly the customer needs to be made aware before purchase. I ended up getting a refund and leaving. This was a far drive for us which I never minded until now, we won't be coming back sadly. read more

Absolutely love this store and the people that work here. It's the only place around that carries truly raw frozen dog food. My only complaint, though it is a huge pain, is the search algorithm for online shopping. No matter how specific you are, it never pulls up what it is you're looking for-literally renders online shopping impossible. I wind up having to call and ask them to put aside what it is I need for dog food. Just seems silly to offer a service that, practically speaking, really doesn't work. I stopped in yesterday with my girlfriend to give her Lab and Golden Doodle baths. The store is extremely clean and well-stocked. The pet food selection is unbelievable and I will be trying some of the brands they stock. The wash stations even have ramps so it was easy for the older Lab to get into the tub. The manager was friendly and very attentive to our needs (and the dogs.) She offered us extra towels and checked in on us occasionally to make sure we had everything we needed.
