Paw Spa has worked out the best, the staff is great. My pup always looks amazing after his baths. He usually gets the deshedding bath. I highly recommend Paw Spa to everyone, they really care well for your pups. They also have a fun, unique shop inside with treats and toys to buy. This is a very cool location right on main street in downtown Dallas.

While I can only assume my dog enjoys daycare and boarding, as the facility has no cameras, I have trusted Paw Lofts and recommended to friends many times. Every time I drop her she seems happy. Unfortunately, Maisie was boarded there last week and also received a bath and nail trim on Thursday. Once I got her home I noticed that one of her nails had been cut all the way to the quick -- her paw was actually bloody and there was dried blood matted onto the fur. Then on Saturday while she was playing at home, she bumped that same nail and it started GUSHING blood again. I had to rush to stop it with quick stop powder. This has never happened to her before. She obviously is a dog and doesn't love nail trims, but I have a hard time believing she was acting so out of control that this was unavoidable, she's pretty sweet and I grind her nails myself at home -- When I called to express my dissatisfaction, I was told they don't even use clippers, but a Dremel, which is specifically supposed to prevent this type of injury. That means they must have been grinding her nails aggressively for it to get this bad... I hate that she was clearly in pain and nobody told me or acknowledged it at pickup -- I only discovered it once we were home. I'm including a photo of her sad face that evening when we were having to hold a bandage over her bleeding toe. I have trusted this facility in the past, but transparency and gentle handling are non-negotiable when it comes to grooming. This shouldn't have happened and in the off chance it does I would have appreciated notification, an apology, and probably even a comped nail trim. I hope this is taken seriously so no other pet has to go through this.

I called around and no one could do it this week until I called Bark Avenue. Jay was really nice and said he would work around my schedule. He was to arrive at 10a to start the salon services. He was running late but sent me a text to let me know and arrived at 10:30a. He and his mother (his partner was ill) took care of the 3 dogs and they were not nervous or skeptical. That says a lot because these 3 have been through so much and their confidence level is way below the radar. He cleaned everything up, vacuumed and left the place clean. I was able to use the Yelp deal so it only cost me $120 for the 3 dogs, and that included de-shedding for 2 of them (where others wanted to charge up to an additional $25). I would definitely have Jay back to take care of my dog and any other fosters I may have. Thanks, Jay and Mom!

He asked me to text him confirming the appointment time and my address, which I did. Unfortunately today I called them at 9am after never receiving a response to my text. They didn't answer, but called me back at 11 after me texting them asking them to please confirm my appointment since I work full time and would need to come home. He told me that he didn't have any record of my appointment, and even when I sent him the screen shot of me confirming the appointment he told me he never received it and that he was sorry. Long story short- they didn't even offer me another appointment or some way to apologize/rectify for the error (discounted groom? Come by on their day off?) and even though they were polite on the phone I wouldn't recommend such a disorganized professional service to any friends. I mentioned that their Yelp reviews seem to reflect lots of missed appointments and he said it was just the two of them so unfortunately that's why. I really think Bark Avenue should look into hiring an assistant for scheduling, or an online platform for booking appointments. You are losing a lot of dog-loving, paying customers by losing appointments and not offering any kind of consolation for the mistake on your end.

I choose Pierre's for grooming my two pugs after much research in the central and north Dallas…read moreareas. Their prices are a bit lower than others and I LOVE that they offer Dremel nail service, which is perfect for dogs with long quicks. That confirmed my decision to try this place. It has been a challenge finding anyone who can trim one of my pug's long quicks without hurting him, so I was excited. I dropped the pugs off at 1pm and they were ready around 4:45pm on a Friday (they recently changed grooming services to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). The pugs were happy upon pickup and continued throughout the evening as well as smelled pleasant. Their nails looked amazing, and no bleeding occurred. The groomer even showed me her Dremel tool and the safety feature on it to protect dogs' nails. It is always a concerning risk to try a new groomer for various reasons, and I'm so glad I chose Pierre's. I also like that I only needed to show updated rabies vaccinations and not additional shots like many places require simply for grooming. The owner Jobbi managed the phones from the first time I called about pricing and services to scheduling to picking up the pugs. He is extremely friendly and conversational; I never felt rushed. Pierre's is in a cute little house right on Lovers Lane with easy access. I highly recommend them for grooming!

My dog had been diagnosed with cancer just three days prior and now needed his leg amputated, ASAP. This was the closest and soonest we could have the procedure done, and I'm so grateful for it. Dr. Dammicci is incredible; kind, patient, and absolutely a top notch surgeon. I would never wish this situation on anyone, ever, but I was astounded at how cleanly the leg was removed. More remarkably, my child was already walking a day later, and three weeks post op, he's running, playing, and acting for all the world like this was all just some horrible nightmare. I'm forever grateful to the team here. They've given my baby so many years of life back. Seeing him happy and healthy, especially after all we've been through, is truly a gift.

I talked over what I usually do with the dogs and she walked me through what she thought they might need as well. It was a great experience to talk about them together because it really felt like collaboration. What really set me at ease was this: She told me if I went home, inspected them, and find something not to my linking to call her and she would get it worked out. I found this incredibly reassuring, especially during a first groom where she is still learning my preferences. She seemed to really understand that we both just want best for the dogs. When I went to pick them up, they look so adorable and again the groomer (Heather) came out to talk to me about everything they had went through how their behaviors were. As a dog mom I appreciate it so much, when I know what my dogs are doing and what they've been through. She went through everything with me- down to how she was holding their heads during the groom. It felt as though my dogs comfort was her priority, and Im truly appreciative of that. I think they worked very hard on having a great relationship between the dogs and the groomers, as well as the human parents and the groomers too. I felt like I understood everything that was going on. Full transparency seems like a model here and I'm very thankful for that. I will definitely be bringing mine back a I suggest you take a leap of faith and try them out too! Also wanted to mention: The facilities were super clean. They have lots of windows so you can look in on the daycare and the rest of the facility. Every dog I saw walking out looked very happy and content. Not stressed at all, which is what we all want for our pups. In the photos Vaders (black dog) face looks a bit choppy because she is a gremlin and loves to smash her face into things creating mats that Heather carefully removed. I said ok I explained that on my first call 2 weeks ago. . . When I asked about getting the deposit back she said I can have a manager call you because I'm not sure. That is where our convo went south. Me : " well surely you'll refund a client if you are canceling on them moments before their drop off, I can come inside and speak to someone" Her : " You don't need to do anything I'll have a manager call you like I said we will see" Me : " No worries I can just come inside I am actually here" Her : " we don't have anyone available to speak to you, we are busy" "Hangs up" I did not go inside, I called back, got a refund asked why this happened and was told "it's a busy week we can't focus on old dogs" That's a concern, so old dogs or not I wouldn't take your babies here. Also cannot believe how rude everyone was.

When I recently had to travel last-minute, I boarded Ziggy at Downtown Dog. Upon pickup, the owner, Gwen, asked to speak with me directly. She was very open and sincere about what had happened previously -- apologizing, explaining the corrective actions taken with staff, and sharing broader improvements coming to DTD. She even covered Ziggy's recent stay, which I greatly appreciated. For me, it's less about the incident itself (I understand accidents can happen) and more about transparency and how quickly a facility acts in the best interest of the dog. Gwen understood that completely and has clearly taken it to heart. I'd encourage anyone who's had a tough experience here to reach out directly -- Gwen and her team do care, and they also give back by supporting local rescue agencies. Downtown Dog really does have a lot of great people behind it, and I'm glad I gave them another shot.

We ADORE Wendy and the Good Day team! After years of failed pet sitting check ins for our cats…read more(both in and outside of Texas) we finally found a company we can trust. In fact, we hired another local company for a few check ins prior to Good Day and we spent our week contacting that company to get an update on our cats! I was so frustrated and booked Good Day last minute to finish the visits while we were out of town and they were empathetic to our situation and squeezed us in to their schedule. So grateful! The team provides the best updates! They always send photos and very cute and detailed messages with every visit - we actually look forward to their updates because they make us laugh and feel comforted our cats are in good care. They are never generic updates, it's always very unique to our cats' personalities and that specific visit. We have also used Good Day for dog walking and even took advantage of their afternoon hike - Wendy came by to pick up our dog Manny and sent us an entire album of photos from their hike together! It's a really special way to get some one on one time instead of sending your pup to daycare for the day! Scheduling is SO easy and they are affordable/on par with other pet sitting companies. We absolutely adore this team and highly recommend them.
