*** SERVICE CUSTOMERS BEWARE *** RUDE MISERABLE UNHELPFUL LIARS *** Took my 2012 Volt for routine service and three recalls. The whole experience was bad from scheduling an appointment, actual service, to picking up the vehicle. NEVER AGAIN!! I purchased the car from another dealership and took it here because it was closer to home. The dealership took care of the recalls, but never did the requested service. Teresa Russo, the service adviser, who has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS and is RUDE as can be...... Theresa Blamed me for not recognizing on the paperwork that she forgot to complete the routine service, even though I agreed verbally on the work to be done and on the up-charge for more complete service when I picked up my car. She simply stated it was my fault for not recognizing it on the estimate paperwork that was completed when I dropped off the car. When asked to see management, I was told that everyone had left for the day and the service manager would be available next business day. Having warranty and routine service I inquired about a loaner vehicle when I made the appointment a week in advance. I was told that Chevy no longer offers loaner cars for warranty service and was offered a ride home instead.I called Chevy and they said the dealership lied that they do offer rentals for service customers.... After two days waiting for the service to be completed, I found out they replaced the same part that had been replaced two times earlier at another dealership and they managed to go through a half a tank of gas in the process. They were even so nice to inform me with a nice typed note on the dashboard that my problem is that I am overfilling the gas tank. It's nice to know that I live in NJ and do not pump my own gas and the last time I filled up this car it was done so by a Chevrolet dealership employee. *****NEVER AGAIN PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP THEY ARE RUDE MISERABLE AND VERY UNHELPFUL AND WILL BLAME YOU FOR THEIR MISTAKES****BEWARE ****** read more

Ditched Elkins for Barlow... My family only owns Chevy vehicles, partly due to a family incentive, but also because we continue to enjoy them. Purchased a Malibu when the economy tanked at Elkins and it was a good experience. Went back a few years later to replace an 11 year old Equinox and were sorely disenchanted with the sales experience at Elkins. Unbeknownst to the saleman there, he gave us the same spiel as one of our friends that he "only needed to sell two more vehicles" to meet his sales goal for the month. In addition to other things surrounding the poor experience there, we decided to try Barlow. We met with Dave S. and he was wonderful - He did not pressure us and did not act like a deceptive salesman. He gave us what we wanted and was reasonable in negotiations. We even went back to him with questions about service for another vehicle. He went above and beyond to make sure any detail that wasn't just right became right. He made it an easy process and is just an all around nice, down to earth guy. No showmanship B.S., just there to match you up with what works for you! I window shopped online. A few salesmen got back to me about a few inquiries I made. Eric from Barlow was the most personable character that I fielded a return call from. I decided to head to Barlow on a Tuesday after work. Eric took me out on 5 test drives before I decided on a Malibu 3LT. By the time the financing process was finished, it was late. Eric had the next day off, but came into work to finish signing papers so I could drive away in my new Malibu. That was Wednesday. On Thursday morning, Eric was calling me to tell me to come back because he had worked with their Finance Manager, Rob, to shave down my interest rate even further. They saved me another $40/month on my payments. Who does that?! I'm now a Barlow for Lifer. I really can't say enough about the experience. This is the second vehicle we have purchased from Barlow Chevy and we intend to NOT make it our last!! The customer service we experience at Barlow Chevy is amazing!! We always deal with Scott E. (he is absolutely wonderful!!!!); and we have dealt directly with Rick (our first salesman for our truck), Eric (our salesman for our most recent vehicle- very funny man!!), Donald (salesman we dealt briefly with at our current visit) and Rob (the finance man who we dealt with both times) who are an absolute pleasure as well. I truly can not say enough positive things about this dealership. I can honestly go on for hours about how great these people are; but understand this is not a novel!! The Barlow service Department had the expertise to solve the engine oil leak 3 other agencies and 6 appointments had failed at, they didn't want to spend the time on. I have a 2011 Corvette Grand Sport (under Warranty). Barlow took 2 appointments. Both involved major mechanical work to identify the problem. First they replaced the rear main seal. Second, a real unexpected problem, the oil pan had a porosity problem. They replaced the pan and solved what the other agencies would not consider.
