I came here back in 2013, fresh out of divorce court. I needed my truck serviced and while it was in the shop I decided to go check out the 2013 Mustang GT, but I had no intention on purchasing one. I didn't think there was anyway I'd be able to buy one within my budget. Chris, a long time salesman with the dealership, came out and greeted me. He was genuinely a cool guy and we talked about the new Mustang. I said I would just love to drive one, I've been a Mustang fan my whole life. He grabbed some keys and we went for a cruise. Chris didn't act like your typical sales guy, he was laid back and a true car enthusiast. No talk about numbers or deals. It was like two buddies just out for a cruise in a hot rod. When we got back, we parted ways and I went to check on my truck in service. I really wanted that Mustang. I went back to Chris and said "Hey man, I don't think I can afford that car, but can we just see what it would cost?" No problem. He ran some estimated numbers and the payments were well above what I could afford. I told Chris that and he said "Hang tight for a minute." When he came back, the GM was with him (I forget his name). He said "Give me a number that would need to drive off in that car today." I gave him the number, he looked at Chris and said "Make it happen." They ended up giving me a lot more money for my truck than I thought a dealer would, and they kept going up until my payments on the Mustang hit the mark. No haggling, no hassle, no back and forth. Seriously, they put the price exactly where I said, worked with Ford Credit and got me a rate you'd barely call interest. I was treated like a repeat customer from the beginning. Worst service department I've ever been to. I asked 3 times to come look at the part IO needed re[laced and 3 times they refused saying oh we know which one it is. The had a picture and I told them it was the wrong piece. After a month of getting the part in and waiting another 2 weeks to get service, it was wrong. We came here to look at a pre owned car, test drove it with the salesman in the car. Asked him if we could take it to our own mechanic within Ford, we were told no that it's a liability thing if it went up on the lift. He did state that he would have to drive with us and would have to watch it get inspected but NOT on a lift. He asked what other Ford place we would take it to and since it's a competitor of theirs, they can't sell us the car if we choose to get it inspected there. When I arrived to pick them up the parts department was not open, however, Chris from the sales department went out of his was to personally look up the parts, go get them out of parts, and made sure all the hardware was there. I called the parts department this morning and was on hold multiple times and was disconnected twice. I proceeded to call back the fourth time and was on hold for over 46 minutes with no one responding. I called back the fifth time and was bounce between two operators and got the voicemail for the parts department. Whoever the general manager is for the dealership needs to have a serious conversation with the supervisor in the parts department because they are nonresponsive or either tremendously understaffed and they are losing business. You know, it's funny. When I go to this place's website, they claim to be rated the "#1 dealer for customer service in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area for the sixth year in a row." Apparently what they don't tell you is that the people rating them were the Philadelphia/South Jersey Sadist, Self-Flaggelist and Screw Me Over Society. It's all in those little details. So where to begin. The fact they were changing me $2500 more for the exact same vehicle that another ford dealer? That they tried to charge me 11% interest when another dealer was giving me 0% through Ford Credit? The fact that the sales rep put on his jacket while we were starting to review the paperwork and turned us over to someone else because he had to get to 'dinner with his family'. Tearing that paperwork up and throwing it back in their face, then faxing the closed deal through Chapman Ford to their GM the next day was exceptionally satisfying. I wouldn't go here if my car broke down in front of the place. I would pay cash money to be towed to another dealer, period. Shameful, uncaring, shoddy service by unprofessional, elitist 'salespeople' trying to screw you for every dollar they can. I bought a Ford from them with less than 30,000 miles and they've certified, etc. Back bumper fell off less than a year later (while I was on a highway!) and when I brought it to them, they insisted I had a collision and claimed I had to leave the car for days to have even the rear light replaced. The first contact with a dealer was letting me know if I had questions he was there to answer them and if I just wanted to browse he would leave me alone. Jeff is a great guy. Easy to talk to and no BS. If he did not have the answer he got it for me. No shooting from the hip. Young guy but he didn't need to impress he was just there to help. Refreshing. Me and my friend was suppose to buy a car from this dealership, they pulled our credit score and we struck a deal via text with the car salesman. On the day we were suppose to go up and sign the papers for the car, the salesman had stopped replying to my text, so I got curious so I called the dealership and found out that the very car I was buying was being sold to someone else. So not only did they back out of our deal, they also dropped my credit score by pulling it to get the loan. Terrible business. I bought a new 2013 Ford focus and it was the worst car I've ever owned out of the 20 cars & trucks I've owned in my life. First, the idea that Echelon Ford gives you a good price on their cars & trucks is a lie. In my opinion the prices are better at Holman Ford. Echelon Ford specifically did not stand by the car mechanically whatsoever. I also had problems every time I had my vehicle serviced at Echelon Ford. I eventually had to use the lemon law to get satisfaction which took a full year. I've owned three Ford trucks and the 2013 Ford Focus and gave them many chances with their so called ford certified repair technicians of which there was always a problem. In my opinion Holman Ford has better Ford certified repair technicians. I was forced to pick a one star because yelp won't allow me to pick zero stars. POOR, POOR, POOR! STAY AWAY! I should have gone to them first to avoid a week of frustration I experienced with all the other sales people. Since I had been to other locations I was aware of available inventory and price ranges. Echelon Ford worked with me to get into a truck I could afford while treating me with respect and without pressure to buy. They made the car buying process easy. This dealership is beyond a nightmare. Leased a 2012 Ford Focus from Echelon Ford and it was horrible - first off after 1 month my car was in there over and over. So far I have had well over 7 rental cars and have gone well over 4 weeks without a car. They finally told me after repeat "services" that there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO. My car has a leaking sunroof which now has mold and when the car is closed holds moisture. The vents have all dry rotted from this moisture in the car. The car hesitates and jerks throughout driving it, again they said there is nothing they can do for this. The car rolls back at any incline and not just a bit it will continually roll down an incline until you press the brake to the floor. At this point I have 10 months left in a lease that has been hell. ECHELON FORD had not once apologized for inconviences, offered to take the car back or anything. They act like it is my issue. I have a warranty on the car and it does nothing for me. The service team has brought my car in and let it sit for days until they call me to tell me they have "checked it" and there is no issue. Echelon Ford should be ashame of themselves for ripping people off and causing such headache. I have no idea how they are #1 in customer service as the website states because this dealership is horrible!!! I leased a new car to make sure everything was smooth for the 3 years I have had it and it honestly has been nothing but anxiety, issues and aggravation. I miss my Ford, but I'm thankful I sold it because I don't have to deal with them anymore. I wrote a formal complain to Ford about them. I've dealt with them for more than a decade. The dealer I purchased my car at closed, so I had to go to this one. I've been to dealers up and down the eastern seaboard, but I dreaded them and they were the only one in the area. When I needed something fixed, I had to wait weeks for an appointment. Sometimes I would have to go back a few times for something. They would fix 90% of the issues. Then, I would have to come back for the 10% of the issue and pay all of the labor again. And, I was bothered by how they treated me and other female family members. They treated me like I was stupid and couldn't understand my car - like they were doing me the favor of fixing it. Really? The one time the service person flat out told me I needed to buy a new car. I said "My next new car will be a Volvo; You can fix my car or I can go buy a new one." He stopped hounding me to get a new car. The next time I was in they were replacing something they should have replaced the time before. When I picked up my car, I saw the break warning light was on. It wasn't before. So I took the time to drive it BACK to them. I got major attitude. I was belittled. I was informed that they were doing ME the favor of squeezing me in and going to plug the car in to the diagnostics computer for free - saving ME money and wasting THEIR resources. They never would have released the car with a warning light on. Forget that I had to take a few hours out of my day to return the car or that I had to drive the car with the warning light on for a while. Finally, a mechanic came back and handed me the keys. He said that the mechanic never plugged back in the braking sensors, which caused the light to appear. I didn't even get an apology and I had to drive around for a while with a warning light on my car....yep, they could have apologized. At least they didn't charge me. When I decided to buy a new car, I did look at the Fords. When I was on the lot - just like the last time I purchased a car - the sales person was sleazy and wanted to sell me what HE wanted to sell me and not what I wanted to BUY. When I priced out an Edge online, they never even gave me the quote. I guess that is better than when I bought the first car....they wanted to sell me a 2-door V6 Ford XLT Explorer with cloth seats for several grand more than what I asked them to price for me: a V8 AWD 4-Door Eddie Bauer (These were new cars). They told me it was too much power for me. I bought the V8 AWD Eddie Bauer at another dealer and kept that for 13 years....now, I bought a new Volvo and I am so happy that I don't ever have to go back to Echelon Ford! read more
