Linah at Barnaby Property Management is a great person who is a rare and invaluable find as a property manager. I've been a tenant in a large shared house for over a decade and I have to be honest that I was NOT pleased at all when I got the news that our landlord - due to circumstances outside of his control - was passing the management over to Barnaby. After years of effectively acting as the property manager myself, I was worried that we'd find ourselves in a "there's a new sheriff in town" sort of situation and that the stability and agency I and my fellow tenants had enjoyed for so long would be turned upside down. There was an adjustment period, going from a very loose and organic means of getting things done into something more structured... but from the beginning Linah communicated her systems and expectations clearly and I have to say that I've been incredibly impressed by the experience. Thanks to her and her team we've been able to get issues taken care of that we thought we'd just have to deal with indefinitely. We've had foundation leaks, plumbing issues, and appliance failures, all of which have been addressed promptly and effectively. The landscapers and repair folks she's built relationships with are excellent and we really couldn't be happier with the results they're delivering. Just last week one of our refrigerators failed and I sent her a description of the ideal design my housemates and I hoped to end up with. She worked with the landlord and when the new unit was delivered it matched my request exactly. Linah expects you to work through her systems and to hold up your end of the bargain. My housemates and I have always cared for the house we live in as if we were our own, and despite what I think is fair to call an initial mutual skepticism, I'm now deeply grateful that Linah is looking out for us and keeping our tenancy moving along. If you're a good tenant, she'll be a great ally. I would, without any hesitation, recommend - and have recommended! - Barnaby Property Management to any property owner looking for a property management company with whom they can develop a lasting personal relationship. Not many tenants would speak so enthusiastically about their property management, but I feel that it's only right and reciprocal to express how thankful I am for the support they've provided and the relationship we've built. Linah Pool's landlord practices are abysmal. She engages in money scams, lacks honesty, and shows blatant disrespect. Timely maintenance is a foreign concept - it took over a month to resolve a property issue. Adding insult to injury, she sends her husband for maintenance, paying him directly. Beware of such unethical dealings when considering her as a landlord. It's a shame they don't offer zero stars for people like her. I see a lot of 5 star reviews from the property owners, but non from the tenants. This property manager does not care about her tenants and only cares about money. BEWARE! read more
