Barnes & Noble at The Grove is a standout. The three story space is open, spacious, and easy to get lost in. Grab your coffee at the café on the third floor, pick a book, and suddenly you're staying way longer than planned. What makes this location shine is the steady lineup of author events, discussions, and book signings, which gives the store real energy and a sense of community. It's not just a bookstore, it's a place to hang out, discover something new, and enjoy the experience.

Always fun to browse for books at Barnes & Noble. It's probably my second favorite location - the first being the one in Calabasas. This location is nice but it's always super crowded since it's located at The Grove. That being said, they have a good selection of books, magazines, music and more. Plenty of gift ideas for people of all ages and interests.

I've been coming to this Barnes and Noble for 16 years and while it's still nice to come through, I much prefer the more cared for, more luxurious pre pandemic layout of the store. I miss being able to read a book and sit with my coffee on the now defunct third floor patio but I'm glad the grove has a Barnes and noble at all still and staff are polite but not overly friendly. I think staff do the best with the tools at their disposal but this store has sort of lost its warmth and identity over the years. The upstairs cafe could be a little nicer and again I really wish they would open the patio back up. And having a checkout station on the third floor would be incredibly convenient. But these are smaller more niche annoyances that I have due to past experience when I feel the layout was more interesting and better cared for. My only real complaint is that most of the time when I purchase a book the cover is worn or damaged and I have to ask my cashier for a discount. That's annoying when you're supposed to be purchasing a brand new book from a reputable commercial bookstore. Because of damaged products I sometimes wonder if I should just go to a used bookstore instead if all of my purchases are doing to be slightly bent or creased.

Came here the other night for the Nicholas Sparks book signing for his latest book Remain! They did a great job organizing the event and it was very smooth! It was great seeing Nicholas Sparks again! Can't wait to read the book!

I come here all the time. Whether I'm looking for a gift for my wife or daughter or if I just want to spoil myself. Love that there is a Barnes & Nobel (not) Starbucks but it is a Starbucks? Have to grab a coffee before checking out the Horror books and the Music section. I love the Vinyl records and all the cd options. On this last visit I was approached by 3 employees all of which offered to help me find anything. I did pick up a book for myself to learn music theory and guitar scales. This book store is huge and will most likely have anything you are looking for.

This was honestly the best Barnes and Noble I've ever been to. It's huge with tons of selections, has bathrooms, cozy chairs, and a coffee shop upstairs. The vibes were super nice. I'd definitely recommend checking it out- even if you're not really a book person.

Who doesn't love a bookstore! I've always been a big fan of Barnes and Nobles. Their book selection is great, love that's they have wrapping stuff, kids toys, and extra nicknacks you can pickup in one place. This one is 3 stories and lots of places to sit and chill and get your reading on. This time around we were there for a Mel Robbins book signing and it was the absolute best. Very well coordinated not overly packed and went smoothly thanks to staff and her team. It was very clean, tidy and a great selection of books and I appreciated that! I always like to visit their kids books they have great selections, always have a good selection with the holidays coming up Valentines Day, and they have tons of fun books that we can pick up. Loved this location!

I was looking for a magazine that was sold out all over LA. I called B&N and got Chris. He was so nice and helpful. I told him what I was looking for, he was familiar and said he saw the last one on the shelf 15 min prior to me calling. I asked if he could hold it for me. He did! And I got the magazine I had driven all over LA looking for. The staff at the register were super nice too. The store has been updated since the last time I've been in and it looks bright and open.

For the 2nd time in the last 6 months , the event organizers failed to do their due diligence and research the celebrities aversions to animals. As a result I wasted over 5 hours in line for a dorky human pic with me and 2 famous people. In the first case I did receive a refund , in the 2nd case, I was too upset and too tired to deal with it. In the future, they need to have any animal aversions stipulated when we initially buy the tickets for these events !

It enjoy coming here to relax and enjoy the view from the third-floor. It's usually packed but it's best to come during the weekdays since it's a little more calmer and it's easier to find. The service here is great, the employees are attentive and try to assist. I do like the vast selection of books they have, especially when it comes to the fantasy and horror ans the diverse stands they have when advertising marginalized authors.

Housed inside a former bank, the space already carries this grand, historic energy that sets the tone before you even start browsing. What makes this place unforgettable is how it's designed to be explored, not rushed. There are cozy spots scattered throughout where you can sit and get lost in a book, but the real magic is upstairs. It opens into a maze of rooms, each with its own personality, filled with carefully arranged books that feel more like art than inventory. At times, it genuinely feels like you've wandered into a dream. One of the highlights is the famous tunnel of books, which adds to that surreal, almost cinematic experience. Everywhere you turn, books are used as decor in the most creative ways, and it creates this quiet moment where everything else fades out. Upstairs also holds one of my favorite parts, a row of art studios featuring work from local artists. Every piece feels intentional, unique, and thoughtfully placed. Right nearby, there's a small coffee shop surrounded by beautiful artwork, making it an easy place to pause and take it all in. This isn't a quick stop kind of place. Plan to spend a few hours here, wandering, discovering, and just enjoying the atmosphere. It's one of the most iconic bookstores I've ever been to, and it absolutely lives up to the reputation.

I found this place after searching the internet for "Korean bookstores in LA/SoCal." I called and asked the staff if they had Harry Potter. They said they didn't, but they told me that if I found some store back in Korea that had what I was looking for, they told me to email them the link or something and then they would order the books for me. When I pointed out that by that logic, if I could find a book by myself and then pay for the store to mail the books directly to me, customs and all, then I'd just be doing their job.
