My first book purchase of 2025
    Dena G.

I can get lost in a bookstore, roaming aisle after aisle of books reaching into forever. There aren't many bookstores left, and I treasure Bookstar. I remember when I was a child, my mom would drop me off at B. Dalton, and I'd sit on the floor for an hour, reading while she shopped. You can't really leave your kids alone at a bookstore like that anymore. But the feeling remains the same...time stretches out when you browse a good bookstore, and if you pick up enough books and flip through and read a few pages, you can blip in and out of a few different worlds in just half an hour.

I love this Barnes and Nobles! Luis helped us out in finding a book I've been wanting for a while but couldn't seem to locate on the shelf. He also helped us out in securing a better deal for a book we had seen priced differently on the website. The store has an amazing selection, their end tables are always a hit and designed so beautifully!

Jaime one of the workers was really helpful and patient! I had initially made an order like 30 minutes before, but I guess the system was down and the lady said that they weren't able to order my books that I originally picked but after going to look for other ones, Jaime helped me and he just said that the system was glitching that I was able to order the book that I initially wanted :)

    Book haul and Sandra's rec!

Just had a wonderful experience at the Studio City Bookstar. Sandra was the cashier and she was so incredibly kind and helpful and offered a wonderful recommendation for a book that I know I will love. Because of her I signed up for the premium membership. Will definitely be back!

The clerk was extremely helpful in helping me locate exactly what i was looking for (without the use of the computer might I add). We conversed about my purchase and current reads which helped the overall personability of the experience. It's located in an old movie theater which is super quirky, but I had to knock it off a star b/c there's no air conditioning it seems so the tiny location was extremely hot.

I wish I had more pictures, I'm sure I will add some more in the future, but this place is very unique for a B&N. It almost has a 80's vibe with the neon but it works. The workers here are very nice, and just like every B&N the selection is quite big. Since it is a chain store, you are able to see all of the deals they have online before hand which is nice, but I would just recommend coming here to look at the store!

This is the most unique barnes and noble I've ever been to. It is really cute and fun to walk around in. It's also not as big as a normal barnes and noble but for me that is perfect, it had all the selections I'm interested in. I will say the books were a little pricy but there are discounted areas to find cheaper books. The workers were really friendly and continuously asked if I needed help.

An old cute theatre repurposed into a B&N. Smaller stock than The Grove. But subsequently less overwhelming + theatre theme = better esp for my introverted lil self, imo. Free street parking on Sundays. I'll be back.

Great bookstore. Big book selection, really helpful staff, space is clean and well lit, and ample parking behind.

They advertise that they sell mushrooms and Salvia, but I'm pretty sure this place has to be a cover for something non-legal that goes on in the back. It's the only explanation why dirty, used kitchen appliances sell for twice the price of a new one. There aren't enough martini's on the Boulevard to get someone drunk enough to actually buy anything here. This place is best enjoyed in the midst of a bar crawl or Sunday Funday. Have a few, come here and laugh your ass off. Just don't touch anything -- the owners will scream at you and then call security. On second thought, touch everything you see. My friend and I came here last night to get magazines for a vision board and while grabbing the magazines, I noticed all the prices were missing. At first, I didn't pay too much attention until I came across one that had a price written over ($8.99) what was white out. Confused, I scratched it off and noticed the printed price of $7.99. I went to the other magazines I grabbed and noticed the other ones had white out over the prices too. I went up to the guy working and confronted him about the pricing. He could not even look me in the eye or provide a good excuse as to why he would be upcharging magazines. He said he can give me a discount on all the magazines. For the originally priced magazine, the register marked it as $9 something before taxes, he offered some slight discount. I said no. This isn't right. No one upcharges MAGAZINES. I had maybe 5-6 magazines in my hand. Easily $60 worth of business he just lost. Don't come here. Go to the nice lady who owns the newsstand at the farmers market at the Grove. She was so sweet and kind.
