Settled on 3 stars because the fries are great but the burger and the service were very solidly ok. Fries were hot, crisp, and flavorful...but I'm not sure if it's how they cut them or if they get broken up when they're tossed, but most of them were little nubs. Burger seemed like the bun wasn't toasted so the spread absorbed into the very mediocre bun... and all the toppings including the patties were just meh. Maybe they were having an off day. Went for lunch on a weekday and wait was about 25 minutes so plan accordingly. read more

After seeing super smash many times, it was an unfortunate let down. When we ordered we were given a buzzer and sat down to wait. We had a very simple and small order but as we were waiting, several parties who ordered after us were getting buzzed and got their food which was odd because it was a pretty light crowd that day. After a long wait I had to go up and ask if they knew how long it would be. They checked and had to reconfirm with us what our order was. It was another long wait before our order came out with even more people getting their food ahead of us. When we got the food it was unfortunately not worth the wait. Several of the other reviews commented about the fries being greasy or soggy which was our case as well. read more

Ouch, my stomach. I was a fan of this place until I ate there this evening about 20 minutes after leaving there I had severe abdominal cramps. Quality control has gone down at this eatery. Service was alright, but it took us 20 minutes to even receive our food and then the pain that came after was not worth the price that I paid to eat there. Their burger is absolutely on the money, hands down one of the best burgers in the Rogue Valley! They sear the patties with onions (which adds insane flavor). My youngest isn't an onion fan, so we usually skip them, but trust me, if you like onions, keep them on there. It makes the burger. And the fries are STUPENDOUS. My absolute favorite fries. Crispy, golden perfection. Do yourself a favor and grab a side of pickles too, it just rounds everything out. A double burger and side of fries will run you about $15, which is honestly a steal considering the quality. Let them cook (for you). It's rare I update a review, but I've met the owner twice now (incognito) and they've repeated a few key phrases. They make everything to order and everything is made fresh for you. That shows me they have a rare REAL passion for what they're doing and deserves you taking a detour. I don't think I've seen this level of care and polish outside a diner in a 1950's movie. They've since nailed the smash burger. Perfect thin crisp, and now have frequent specials which have a lot of heart and thought put into them. I would still suggest getting those fries to a perfect crisp but it's improved to where it's a style choice. Not sure yet? Here's what you're gonna do. Order a special, don't look at it. Go into legends and get a cider. Enjoy. You have to hate burgers to be disappointed which is why this is a 5 star now. read more

Legit the best burger I've had in the valley. Super friendly guys running the place too. This was our first time here and we'll definitely be back. Small menu that's executed perfectly. I hate to write bad reviews, but I felt in this case I needed to, especially after spending $30 on a burger and two orders of fries. Generally, all the food was a gloppy, greasy mess. The fries were especially bad--droopy and greasy. I'd suggest trying the fries at Gather to see what nice, crispy fries should be. The burger bun was unattractively smooshed into everything else, instead of having its own texture. For a great burger, try the ones at Simple Cafe (their home fries are excellent, by the way). Killer Burgers is also good. I ordered bacon, which came out as undercooked blubber. The burger and fries I had echoed those served at Five Guys, who apparently think greasy, droopy fries are somehow appetizing. Not only won't I try either place again (unless they figure out how to cook buns, fries, and strips of bacon), but the experience has also generally turned me off the burgers in general. Sorry, Smash Burger, but you need to up your game. Lot of Burger joints out there. read more

The burger sauce holding enough flavor to echo through the rogue valley like the gust of a thousand winds. The rich, plump brioche bun to hold it all together and defend its honor. Much like the angels of the pearly gates. I take my first bite... I now know what love is. It's equivalent to a loved one's embrace, playing catch with your father, belly laughing with your best friends. It is all of the most wonderful parts of life on this planet, all between two brioche buns. This burger is ending wars, building empires, and rekindling lost love. Don't walk, run. This place is all hype with poor delivery. For starters, the burger is comparable to a McDonald's McDouble. Pretty bland. I also didn't notice any onions smashed into the patty like they advertise. I bought a side of pickles for $.50, I received 5 super thin slices of pickles, granted they were house made. That is $.10 for 1 slice of pickle. Bizarre. I was so shocked they barely filled the bottom of the small sauce cup they came in. The pickles were definitely not overflowing like their pictures show. I added bacon to my burger for $2 and it was an embarrassing small amount, maybeeee 1 slice of crumpled up over cooked bacon. While the fries were house cut, they came soggy. The highlight of the meal was the ranch. It's house made and pretty good. The ranch is the reason I'm giving my experience a 3 star instead of 2. Smash burgers have become popular more recently, i've tried several different ones from different places from Portland down to Southern Oregon. I had high hopes for a good smash burger place located next to me, tried it a couple weeks ago and was pretty floored on the cost of different items vs what you receive. Also waited close to 40mins for 2 smash burgers and some fries and saw friends of the truck who arrived 15mins after us get served, eat, and leave before we even got our food. I assume they're friends as they came/went from the food truck several times and their food was hand delivered (unlike ours), this just left a bad taste in my mouth before I got the food. Our total was over $30 for 2 smash burgers and a thing of thin fries.. yes, I think they're homemade although, how much are potatoes? Not $10. The smash burgers just weren't up to par, unlike a true smash burger where it's super thin, crispy, and is pretty decent size and usually goes over the edges of the bun... the one I ate here, was simply a very thin patty, that's it. There's a different between a smash burger and a thin patty burger. You can make 10 smash burgers at home with cherry street meat yourself, for the price I paid here, and they'll probably come out faster. If someone had never had an actual smash burger before- they'd probably think this was decent. read more
