Now considering myself a frequent flyer at Barnie's since I've been twice now in two days. Thoroughly enjoyed everything I've eaten and can't wait to make it a regular weekend occurrence. Stopped in for a quick treat break first. I had an iced latte and a cheese danish. The coffee was great and I loved the pastry. It was a nice sized pastry and the staff warmed it up making it twice as delicious. Fast forward a day and I was craving another one of their lattes so decided to come in for brunch. Ambiance is definitely casual but comfortable. You can seat yourself either indoor or outdoor and the servers will come around with menus. For brunch, I got the quiche platter which was again, generously sized. I ordered the potatoes as my side and found the quiche to be very fresh, eggs super creamy, and crust buttery and flakey. Will order that again but not before sampling around the menu a bit more. My friend enjoyed the avocado toast with a poached egg and had equally high praise. I am so over this place. The food is great and the coffee is good. The operation of this establishment is 0/100. I cannot tell you how many times I have arrived only to learn they have closed early for the day. They don't announce early closing on their social media so it's always a surprise. My husband continues to go and most recently I agreed reluctantly only to have the kitchen close early as per usual. Don't waste your time here--go to Glass Knife or any of the other local establishments! read more

I stopped here with my mom while visiting town and doing a little shopping. We had plans to go to Power House for lunch (which we did) but beforehand I needed a little snack, as I'm pregnant. We were seated quickly outside under an umbrella by a kind waitress. Since we just wanted a little pick me up, we each got a broccoli cheddar soup. It needed a bit more flavor so we added some salt and pepper (and my mom added a dash of hot sauce), which helped. Our goal was something light and this did accomplish that. While cream based, it wad not super heavy, which was nice. After finishing, we were on our way with the rest of our day! My family has had Barnie's coffee at home for years so I was excited to try the actual cafe today. I was disappointed and surprised to find that the seasonal latte, peanut butter mocha, had no peanut butter flavor and honestly no coffee flavor. I hate to say it but it tasted like chocolate milk. No depth of flavor which is shocking considering the flavors they're able to convey in the bags of ground coffee. Staff was friendly but probably won't be back considering the number of other options. read more

5 Star update for solid coffee and a great breakfast sandwich! It's been a minute since I've been here and I've been missing out! A server came right up to our table inside and took our order. He was super friendly and suggested the breakfast sandwich. When it came I was blown away- it was big and was exactly what I hoped for. I also got a cortado and it was perfect. I love that they have many seating options- inside, out front, and in the outdoor patio out back (a little hidden oasis). On a good spring or fall day, it's a truly magical spot to enjoy Winter Park. Though the parking is mostly on-street, I've never gone long without finding a convenient spot. Weekends are hectic, but this is a really solid option for meetings during the week. This place was such great place to go to after a Sunday walk. It gets really busy on the weekends from what I can tell. I love the little courtyard area this location is in. It's cute and quaint. The inside is on the smaller side but they do also have outdoor seating available, which is where we sat. Their menu is pretty standard. The latte was smooth and creamy and the breakfast I ordered cooked the egg just how I liked it. I'd love to be able to go there again and try another menu item and coffee concoction. I visited this coffee shop for the first time and my what a hidden gem! I almost missed eyeing its location when I drove past. Fortunately, the area wasn't extremely busy at the time of day that I arrived so finding nearby street parking was easy. I met an acquaintance here and they had arrived before me. They were able to secure an outside table in the back and the weather was gorgeous. The coffee shop has outside seating along the sidewalk as well as long the side leading to the back area creating a mini courtyard feel. Seating in the back, away from the hustle and bustle along the sidewalk was great. Once seated, a server came out with menus and water. They took our orders. I kept it simple with an English Breakfas tea since unflavored nitro cold brew coffee wasn't currently available. My acquaintance ordered avocado toast and coffee. This is a good spot if you want somewhere casual but otherwise, it's a skip for me. We've been twice and both times the service was crazy slow and the prices were crazy high. We thought the first time was a fluke, but our second time confirmed that this is just to be expected, at least on a Sunday afternoon. It took us 30 minutes to get our coffee and we ended up having to ask for the kitchen to box up the meals we had ordered because we were going to be late for an appointment and couldn't wait any longer. Not much of an apology and for one coffee, two lemonades, one bagel (cream cheese was extra!), a meal w/ 2 eggs and bacon, and an omelet, we spent $72! Coffee is fine, I'm always a fan of trying to support smaller local businesses when I can. I haven't eaten here before but I'll pop in for a coffee from time to time. I went this weekend and decided to try the Turkish coffee. At the register I was charged an extra $.50 for "Turkish flavor" even though the menu clearly had what I would call an inclusive pricing for the Turkish coffee. I brought it up because I figured it was a simple entry error on the register but after a few minutes of back and forth (and trying to not make so much of a fuss but more bring up the logic of what is displayed on the menu vs what I was being charged) one of the staffers said "oh yeah, they haven't updated the menu yet. We keep asking them to do that but it hasn't happened". So I guess it's up to the customer to make sure what is on the menu is actually what you should expect to be charged? Look, especially now, I think we all can completely understand price volatility and things can change pretty quickly. My suggestion to management is a) inform ALL your staffers that there could be some discrepancies between the menu and what's on the register so we all don't get frustrated with a back and forth of this vs that and b) maybe put up some sign or label or something somewhere saying that prices may require adjustment. Give people a heads up. Had I known about this non updated menu issue I would have just ordered a plain drip coffee in the hopes that something simple like that would have been priced accurately. Anyway, it won't stop me from going here but it will make me a more cautious customer. read more

I had breakfast at Barnie's and loved it. I ordered the Santa's White Christmas latte and the avocado toast. Both were flavorful and fresh. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for a great morning. My friends and I sat on the patio for a while catching up. No one rushed us or made us feel like we needed to leave. The space looked beautiful and felt peaceful. There were a lot of bees around, but there are many flowers on the patio. The bees did not bother me at all. They were part of the setting. Exploring Park Ave and found this perfect coffee spot, that also perfectly served breakfast. The prices are a bit on the higher side but the food was large portions and delicious. I ordered the eggs your way over easy with sourdough toast and roasted potatoes. The sourdough toast was perfectly buttered and had a great crunch. The roasted potatoes needed a tiny bit more salt but were flavorful and cooked to perfection. My nitro cold brew was perfect as it was ice cold and our server added a nice lavender flavor to it. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito and could not get over the size and how filling it was. The inside and outside were both clean and designed well. I've been a regular customer at this location for about three years, but today's experience left me disappointed enough that I don't plan to return. I came in for a quiet Sunday brunch with my wife and our two-year-old daughter. All the tables were full, so before ordering I specifically asked at the counter whether we could order food and sit down once a table opened up. There was no line behind us. The cashier was very kind and said that was fine. I placed our order, paid for food and drinks, and also left a tip in advance, understanding that we would be taking up table space. When a table became available and we sat down, a young waitress approached us and told us we could not sit unless we ordered directly from her. This was embarrassing and uncomfortable, especially with my wife and toddler already seated. I went back to the counter to explain the situation. To her credit, the cashier was understanding, clarified things with her coworkers, and told us to please sit and stay. Shortly after we sat down, another customer's child threw trash with water in it, which splashed all over my wife and daughter. While I understand that this was not the staff's fault, it added to an already frustrating experience. We finished our meal, cleaned our own table, and disposed of all the trash. The cashier again was very gracious and offered us a coupon for one coffee drink, which I appreciated. My main issue is not with any single employee, but with unclear and inconsistently enforced policies. If there is a rule that seating is only allowed when ordering from waitstaff, that should be communicated clearly before payment--especially at a national chain. Asking a family with a small child to stand up after being told it was okay to sit is uncomfortable and avoidable. Had I been alone, I would have asked for a refund and left. I didn't do that because I didn't want to escalate things in front of my family. While my wife may return because she enjoys the food and coffee, I personally won't be back. I'm sharing this because I believe the experience here could be better with clearer communication and better coordination between counter staff and waitstaff. Unfortunately, today reflected poor service and a lack of accountability, which is disappointing given how long I've been a customer. read more

Along with everything else on Park, parking is extremely difficult to come across. Barnie's has indoors and outdoors seating. It can be a little confusing but you seat yourself and then a server comes up to you. I saw a party of 4 sit outside and they were brought waters but their server never came back to check on them so after 15mins or so, they left. I was there from about 10am to 2:30pm. It was a perfect remote work location. They had fast wifi and I was in the very corner of the cafe where I was out of the way and had a nice view of the park and walkway. I ordered the Shakshuka from the breakfast menu, it was great, did wish it came with more toast for dipping though. My waitress kept the cups of water coming the whole period I was there so the service that I had was fantastic. read more

First time ever going to a Barnies! When you first walk in there are tables that you can seat yourself and order food or you can go to the front to order a coffee and/or a pastry. I walked to the front and ordered a large iced honey lavender latte. None of the pastries looked appetizing to me. I asked to look at the menu and it was still just not appealing. I got a $6 croissant that was more like a croissant shaped bread roll. I don't think them heating it up in a microwave did it any favors either. Ended up ditching the back half of it in a trashcan in the nearby park.
