Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and they finally fixed a problem that had me bounce from shop to shop for two years and thousands of $$ spent. George and Keon finally correctly diagnosed the issue and problem solved. Details - I had an oil leak and the valve cover needed to be replaced. Seems simple and straightforward enough in hindsight but the shops I went to (one of them considered to be an expert in the make of my car) did everything but the very repair that was needed. Even worse, the expert shop said I had a cracked head as the oil leak continued and quoted me $$$ for the fix after I had already spent a ton. I went through a lot of anguish on what to do next but thankfully I was guided by recommendations to go to Baron's. This shop listen's to the customer, takes the time to diagnose the problem and does high quality work. I am a very happy with the service and with this review hope to help their business! Ok YELP.... Seeing these bad reviews about Barons is very frustrating. I run a small business and know the power of receiving a good or bad review. My relationship with Barons began when I bough my Mercedes about 5 years ago. When I was under warranty I just went to the dealership. Once I was out of warranty I called AAA, and asked if they could refer me to any one near to me. AAA referred me to Barons. This was wonderful news seeing as I live less than 10 miles from them it was really quite convenient. I don't know much about cars... but what I can tell you is they are the only ones to ever work on my car *after warranty* and I NEVER have problems. My car is in for regular services which are needed only when my dashboard light comes on. I think I was in maybe once or twice in the past 12-14 months. To me the proof is in the pudding. They obviously do a quality job, because my car runs smoothly all the time. Bottom line here is that if you car is a LEMON, which many European cars are...do not take out your frustrations out on Barons. They are simply doing their job and if they put things to you matter-of-factly do not get offended! Seriously. REGARDING PRICES: By the way I called down to MERCEDES of San Diego last week for an estimate on getting a service A done and they quoted me $400,( I think I did it just to see what they would say- but I knew I would only take my car to Barons) and I knew Barons price would be better...but hey, why not find out for sure... Well, called over to Barons and they would do a service A for me for $170. YEP that is a biggg discrepancy. I happily took my car in today and it took them 3 hours. Not only was it time efficient, but they washed it and did a mini detail. ALL FOR $170. Took the car in for its first service and my first visit in nearly 2 years. The shop has scaled down in size a bit and there are new faces. Jessica, training as a service writer, is a 2nd generation staffer (Linda's daughter) who brings great communication skills with a courteous demeanor and the same willingness to do a deep-dive to find the right parts and the right numbers to put together solid estimates. Hector is the new technician. Professional, to the point, fixing things I didn't know were broken (and a few things I did but didn't tell them about.) He gently suggested I save my money by not doing things I thought might need doing, but didn't. I came back to Baron's because of good past experience. Today at this morning I went there and a receptionist got all info about my bmw 2006 and said "it will cost 185.00 total ". I was like cool, I intend to spend even 300, because right yesterday I went to BMW dealership and the BMW specialist check out my car and she even explain before she start repairing my car and I singed the paperwork that it will cost initial amount but than I thought why should I spend 300 dollar for a small bulbs and than I started my research to find online best deal which I found BARONS SERVICE, my friend recommended me and the reviews I saw made me to come. So the conclusion is they charged me 929.00 - 10 % off (179) just for a headlight bulbs !! Oh Common that's so not good. I told them I am student since I have part time job I can't afford it but the owner and the mechanic were so rude they even didn't talk to me like in a professional manner and he said well my employee cleared up everything with u right? before we fixing ur car I was like No hell no she only said it will cost 185 dollar that's why I allowed her to go ahead do it if I knew it will cost me 929 dollar than I would have fix it by my BMW dealer which was for 300 $ but I wanted to spent less than that so how come I allowed her to fix problems with 929 dollar !!!!. So I told him I don't want to argue with u and I also don't want blame your employee and put her job at risk and he replied with aggressive manner "don't worry about her job she is my daughter" than i was like what?? I can't say enough about how my great experience with Barons was. Finding an auto shop that you trust is so important. Over the years I've had good experiences, and some not so good, with different shops. I'm always on guard when looking for auto service. I cold called Barons based on their proximity to me and wow, I feel so fortunate to have found them. My Jeep Cherokee started running really poorly, with lots of vibrations and grinding, so I was thinking the worst. Within minutes George at Barons diagnosed that I needed motor mounts, a somewhat expensive repair but nowhere as much as I was fearing like a new transmission, or worse. And now my Jeep drives, and looks, better than it has in a long time. I took my 1988 BMW M3 to get a second opinion, and other mechanics told me my car needed engine overhaul in order to pass smog. After I took it to Baron's, he checked it out and said my car was an excellent condition and had no problem with pass the smog. And he was right, car has no problems "Smog Passed" I highly recommend this shop if you want honest services. I will see him soon with my E92 M3. read more
