First it was the denial that it could not happen in their garage. If you insisted that the small dent looking fresh and was not there until you pulled in; and requested that they acknowledged it could have happened in their garage. To no avail, you leave and directly go to a body shop to find out if the damage was new and could be caused as the car was put on the lift. With the preliminary estimate of the damage, almost $1,200.00, and the verification by the bodyshop that it could very likely happen as the garage put the car on lift, you return to East Coast Tire and show the young person and mother the estimate and convey the bodyshop's assessment. The young person suddenly and unexpectedly becomes irate and, with a foming mouth, repeatedly asks you in the foulest language to leave; and with a quick jurky motion and his stature advances towards you. As you hold your position, the mother attempts to hold back Coby. They then call Gloucester Police to have you be removed from the premises. Now, you humiliated with a big knot in your stomach end up with no option left other than seeking an arduous, yet uncertain legal action.

The rest of the operation/oil change felt like a military operation (prior service Marine); shouted out what tasks were completed to colleague at the terminal recording results of each stage of oil service. Brandon, Alex, Noah, appreciate you all, thank you for being professional, knowledgeable, and patient with finding the hopeful cause of the leak (update: no leaking since oil change!). FYI: I read a few reviews about Valvoline's pricing. Here's the thing. Yes, it's more expensive than other spots. However, most other places you need to make an appointment, and could wait upwards of 30-90 minutes in a lobby/office for car to be serviced/leave for day. Just understand that accessibility is factored into their pricing. I literally went the day after Christmas with no appointment and was in and out in 15 minutes with peace of mind, and could continue on with the rest of my day without having to make an oil change a whole day ordeal. While the service was being performed, I gave the employee handling the transaction my debit card. He explained to me that I would need to pay for the last service before they could perform any new service. I told him I handed the North Street employee my card. The manager TOLD me I was lying. But THEN he told me he'd check the CCTC cameras and apologize if he found that I HAD given the card to his employee. He accused me of lying absent of proof - he hadn't even checked!! So, with ZERO evidence, he called me a liar. Furthermore, Valvoline company policy is the garage door is not to be opened until the customer has paid (confirmed by staff today). If the staffer didn't run the card at the time, why did they open the door, signalling I could leave? And, if I wasn't charged, it was only because their emplyee didn't run the card. I'm waiting for the manager's call. Regardless of any apology I may or may not get, I do not appreciate being called a liar without a shred of evidence and no person in a managerial position should be so irresponsible as to make that accusation without being 100% certain they were right. In the meantime, there are many other options for an oil change in Salem and I'm guessing they will be more professional than any managed by this irresponsible individual.

Her mother brought it in and told them she wanted them to fix any issues as she is pregnant with our child and wanted to ensure the vehicles safety. On 7/27/25, while we were driving we heard what sounded like rock hitting the bottom of the car over and over as we drove up a hill. When going down the back side of the hill, we hit the brakes to slow down only to have the car not slow at all. Luckily, we were on a slower road at this time and were able to roll to a stop on a hill and put the vehicle in park. Upon inspecting the car, we saw that the rear passenger caliper was dangling down and that the piston had shot out. I am grateful that we are alive as we had just gotten off of the freeway a few minutes before this happened. We had to tie up the caliper to be towed, and are currently having pep boys fix our car and replacing the caliper and brake pads, which had just been replaced a month ago. We brought the car in and the owner Sean took us in and told us they'd have the vehicle done ASAP and call when it was ready. Then while waiting to leave an elderly gentleman came in to get service and was a bit stressed about getting the car done so he could take his wife to an appointment....Sean the owner gave the gentleman assurance that his car would be ready with plenty of time to make his appointment. This is a very large repair shop and appears to be well set up. A few hours later Stacy called that our car was ready. We got there to pick our car and was blown away by the very Extremely reasonable cost. I even questioned it! I couldn't be any happier with the both service and cost.
