Wonderful Strip (perfectly cooked), Brussels, Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and a Side Salad

Just spent the weekend of June 27th at Barons CreekSide and... wow. What an absolute gem! From the moment we pulled in, we were blown away by how beautifully kept and manicured the entire property was. The cabin we stayed in was incredibly spacious, spotless, and felt like a cozy five-star hotel room--with a whole lot more charm and character. The onsite restaurant, The Club, was such a pleasant surprise! Delicious home-cooked meals, a solid beer and wine list (Texas wines included!), and local artists performing live each night made it the perfect evening hangout without ever needing to leave the property. The peaceful creek winding through the grounds, paired with the vineyard and multiple lookout spots, created a picture-perfect backdrop for morning coffee or evening strolls. It's incredibly quiet and serene--felt like a true escape--but still only minutes away from all the fun in downtown Fredericksburg. Already planning our next trip back. Highly, highly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing, beautiful, and memorable getaway!

absolutely wonderful time! Daniel is so friendly and the whole grounds were so incredibly enjoyable!! The photos honestly do not do it justice!! You have to actually GO to appreciate it all! We will be back with lots of friends!! Matthew and Lisa G Katy, TX

This place is absolutely amazing! We stayed for three nights and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The Mesquite farmhouse was absolutely beautiful and we were so happy staying there. The deer visited us daily and we fed them so they were there every morning and afternoon. We ate at The Club two nights in a row and couldn't have had a nicer experience. The bands on both nights were great. The wait staff were so nice, and the food was delicious. Simon made the experience so wonderful. He was a great host and was so personable. The owners, Daniel and Deborah were extremely nice and made our stay amazing. What gracious hosts. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will definitely be back! We recommend Barons CreekSide to anyone traveling to Fredericksburg or this area of Texas. You will not be disappointed. My husband and I found this gem of a place last year. The accommodations are so charming and rustic. You feel like you are stepping into Switzerland. The lodging is so thoughtful, comfortable and the two cabins we stayed in have a Creekside view. I woke up this morning enjoyed a cup of coffee outside and enjoyed the ducks on the pond. They have everything you need in the cabin including an extra fan for white noise. I have some photos but they don't do the place justice. It's ten times more precious and inviting. This will be our go to place every time we come to Fredericksburg. We will be back and bring all our friends.

Everything went well here. The accommodations are superb. I rented three of the units as we had a little family reunion here. Everyone loved their cabins. The owners are super nice. We brought our two dogs and there is plenty of space to take them on walks. The units are super clean and beautiful. You can go to The Club for dinner and music on the weekends, and the food, music, and wine is very nice. This is my second time staying here. I will definitely be back. I have travelled extensively all over this planet and I think this is one of the most enjoyable places I have ever stayed. You feel like you have your own little Swiss chalet. And the wineries are nearby. You can even walk to one next door! I cannot think of anything that went wrong during our stay or anything that could be improved. This place runs like a fine Swiss watch!

we enjoyed our nights four days visit! we were celebrating our 38th anniversary as well as join in a wedding. The cabin was close to everything and yet felt far away! our cabin worked well for us since I get up early and my husband likes to sleep in. RhineFalls was our cabin. Simon was great as well as a hug from the Owner himself!

Our Morgarten cabin!! Amazing!!!! Only half of it. The other half is adorable but i didn't get a picture. Just perfect!

A taste of Europe right in Hill Country TX!! We love to travel and wanted something different for our 30th wedding anniversary that was close to home and would accept our dog. This is like nothing we've ever seen in Fredricksburg!!! The property was as if we were in a small European village with rolling creeks, bridges, large trees, art, fire pits, watch towers, covered wagons, separate cabins, swings, chairs, views, ducks... did i say charming and all lit up!!? Our cabin was magnificently perfect! The decor represented Swiss heritage with every little item in there purposeful rich in heritage and design. Real firewood with a sunk in tub and a porch to enjoy the views. Everything you need to stay in with local coffee and pots and pans, dishes etc. We did not want to leave! Daniel and Deborah have done a fine job making their 26 acreage a romantic escape! Simon also made our stay wonderful! This Swiss family exudes culture and joy! We are grateful they brought it to Texas Hill Country!! The pricing is so favorable too! It's a must! 10 out of 10! We will be back.

We loved the style of the cabin, all the amenities and particularly the open air jacuzzi out on the front deck.

The interior definitely feels more like an event space than a winery, but the outside has a beautiful view of the surrounding nature! I loved that you could do a sweet wine tasting! We did the 5-course sweet tasting and my personal favorite was the Dragon Fruit Strawberry Wine. The Queso was flavorful -- would order again!

The Edge is a multi-purpose venue that serves as a restaurant when not hosting private events. It's not a winery and doesn't produce its own wines. Instead, it curates a selection of wines and offers a solid food menu for those looking for something other than ridiculously overpriced charcuterie boards. Now that we've got that straight, let's dive in. The Edge is the chameleon of Fredericksburg and adapts to what guests need. It sits on a beautiful property with stunning views, it offers ample space for large parties and plenty of TVs--perfect for catching football games during the season. The food? Definitely worth mentioning. The food options are predominantly American. I ordered a burger and a Pizza Roll and I couldn't stop raving about that damn roll (FYI, it's not a Totino's sized pizza roll). Despite the initial confusion, The Edge turned out to be a great find along the 290 Wine Shuttle route. Service: not the greatest, lots of lax young employees. Food took a while and was inconsistent in our party. Be prepared to learn the art of patience.

Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.

This venture has been a dream for owners Mike & Rosann Mitrione. Their first vineyard was established in the Texas High Plains in 2018, where they planted around 15 varietals across 27 acres. In 2021, they began designing and planning their new 38-acre Texas Hill Country vineyard. They started planting their estate vineyard in 2022 and have now expanded to 9 acres of vines including Albariño, Petite Sirah, Montepulciano, Syrah, and Aglianico. Since opening to the public in summer of 2023, they've maintained a steadfast commitment to producing 100% Texas wines. When you enter the tasting room, you will immediately notice the impressive Texas granite structure adorned with a symbol that reflects the Ross family's core values: Faith, Family, Friends, and Fellowship. The two-story, eco-friendly tasting facility is semi-circular and built into the hillside - reminiscent of a piazza in Italy. It has an upscale vibe, high-end design, and comfort in mind lending to its artistic flair. Facing east, the tasting room stays cooler both inside and out, enhancing the experience. Another notable feature are the large tables made from repurposed old pecan trees found on the property. Well known Texas winemaker Tim Drake has been helping in the crafting of some very fine wine here. Most focus has been primarily on Italian style wines which reflects the owner's wine travels. Most grapes are sourced from the High Plains vineyard estate with some future Hill Country estate wines to come. First to sample was the '23 Sauvignon Blanc which is sourced from the High Plains estate vineyard. Citrus & melons will be the first notes to light up your wine palate followed by zesty acidity. The second white wine sampled was the '23 Bisaccia. This Italian style blend, named after Michael's grandfather's Italian town, was crafted with 57% Trebbiano, 39% Albariño, and 4% Pinot Grigio. It is dry with dried apricot notes and minerality. An extra white wine treat was the Windswept. This Rhone style blend (yes, departure from the Italian theme, but that's ok) is a blend of 52% Viognier and 48% Roussanne. It is a lovely lighter Rhone style wine with buttery notes, a tango between apricot and pear, and a hint of minerality. Moving to the Rosé wines, the first to sample was the '24 Sangiovese Rosé. It had a pink colored hue with notes of watermelon and strawberry coupled with good acids. It also had more of a Provence style feel to it for an added pleasant. The next Rosé wine sipped was the '24 Vega. It is Malbec based with some raspberry notes and a nice soft and refreshing feel. Moving into the reds, the first to sample was the '23 Grenache. It was aged in Russian oak (yes, for real), exhibited a deep brick rusty color, lots of good fruit forwardness and a touch of smoke. Next, was the '22 Piazza Rossa. This super Tuscan style wine has 67% Sangiovese, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Merlot. To say it has a big nose is an understatement, but you will also be impressed by its deep dark color, and notes of fig. Plus, the finish is to die for! Saving the best for last red to sip, was the '22 Envisage. This right bank Bordeaux style wine (yes, not exactly Italian, but still great) was carefully crafted with 46% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 16% Malbec. It has nice rich dark fruit, some baking spices, good tannins and acidity, and a smooth finish. Overall, it was a very fine and enjoyable tasting session with everything being spot on. When dreams are realized, magic happens. You can see this not only in the quality wines produced, but the tasting room design, décor, and cool vibes. There is a food truck on site that will whip up some good eats to pair with your wine. You will experience great hospitality here as well. The team is very professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to help ensure you have the tasting experience you desire. You will feel well cared for and comfortable here and will want to return. Cheers!

We were kind of concerned as it is in the opposite direction of all the other places. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host in the outside foyer and taken to our table ( they take reservations but we did not have one). We were sat and promptly greeted by our server. She explained the options for tasting to us and informed us that there was a food truck onsite as well. We opted to do the red wine tasting . The tasting started with a Grenache ( full bodied, very fruity but not sweet) the grapes really shine, next was the Sangiovese which was even better. We went through a series of 5 wines that all were made with exceptional care as none were left to waste. My favorite was the 1 Sangiovese, 2 Grenache, 3 Tempranillo. We also purchased a pizza from the food truck onsite. It was a margarita pizza ( large enough for two to share as a medium snack). If your hungry you made need more. They have more than pizza as well. We bought a bottle of Sangiovese and will definitely return. Excellent live performer and extraordinary service !!
