I cannot stress how much everyone should visit Barons Creekside!!!! The cabins are absolutely stunning with every small detail thought of down to the door knobs! The property is very quick with the exception of the birds chirping and the creek flowing. We saw deer and ducks on our visit, and enjoyed the outside cats that came to say hello every once in awhile while we were outside. We loved sitting by the creek in the early morning and in the late night listening to the creek and looking at the stars. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the cabin was spotless! The owners Daniel and Deborah are probably the kindest people I have ever met. Check in was easy, the key was waiting for us in the designated location given in the email confirmation, as well as check out. The Club was such a night atmosphere where we enjoyed wine, met new people, and listened to some live music. The staff working was absolutely amazing!!! Seriously. If you don't stay here you are missing out! My husband and I are already planning our next trip just the two of us and one with friends! read more

I LOVE Barons Creekside. My husband and I discovered this place about three years ago and we have stayed here many times. The cabins and grounds are so beautiful and clean. When you enter Barons your stress level automatically lowers and vacation time begins. We haven't tried the club yet but excited too on our next stay. What can I say about Barons that hasn't already been said. It's a beautiful serene place that I always appreciate. My wife and I honeymooned there and it's our Anniversary spot. When we drive in we will spend a few days hiking at Enchanted Rock and Perdinales Falls or climbing Old Baldy at the Frio River. And when we get back to the cabin we just enjoy the serenity, relax on the porch at the creek or on the couch. There's a great club on the property that opens in the evenings so you can enjoy the great wine selection and not have to drive. Just a beautiful stroll back to your cabin. There's a perch to watch the sunset that we always make sure to catch at least once during our trip. Daniel and the crew are great host and have always been quite friendly. There's history in every cabin out there and it's obvious when you walk in that it's special. There's no way to convey the place in words so I won't try. This is still one of the best places we have ever stayed. The number of cabins has slowly expanded over the years and we stayed in the newest one--Rhine Falls. It was really great. We love the whole experience of grilling out everyday and hanging out in front of the fire each night. I believe there was a TV in the bedroom that never got switched on... Daniel was his usual, personable self and found time to pay us a visit to welcome us back. He remembered us from two years ago, because someone in the neighboring cabin broke the door off their cabin in a drunken, New Year's Eve fight. We laughed about the things that make you remember.... I hope we are able to visit this wonderful place at least every two years or so. The best thing in Texas!! read more

we had a wonderful stay at Baron's. The host, Daniel greeted us after we got settled and made sure to make us feel welcomed. It is a romantic getaway but they also have cabins for families. we were on a family vacation with our toddler son and he had the best time. he loved roaming around to dig in the dirt and rocks, see the ducks and cats on the property and check out the stream through the main part of the property. we grilled out on our patio area and enjoyed a great dinner our first night. it is close to downtown Fredericksburg, which is super convenient but seems really out of the way. great little getaway. read more

This was our fourth time visiting Daniel's peaceful Swiss resort in Fredericksburg; our first visit was at the Sunset shortly after Barons opened...feels like home. We stayed the last three nights in the Grindelwald Swiss cabin. What a gem this place is! It's two minutes to downtown Fredericksburg, but you'd never know it if you just want to lay low on the property for days on end! So private and so romantic! The only thing the Grindelwald is missing is a stove to allow for cooking meals without having to eat every meal out. But, with it having just been the two of us on our anniversary get away, we didn't mind exploring Fredericksburg's many eateries and hot spots! My wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and decided to revisit Barons Creekside because that is where we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Daniel and Deborah had made a lot of improvements including a covered wagon for glamping. My wife and I were excited about utilizing this option due to our family histories in Oklahoma and Arkansas and also our experiences camping with Scouts. It was a great site with campfire and grilling capability. It was also a short walk to the Club for drinks and live music (including Daniel on the Elk Horn!) Gindlewald cabin was wonderful.. super comfy with all the amenities you need (refrigerator with freezer, microwave, separate bathroom, loads of hot water, comfy king-side bed with lovely linens) in an amazingly peaceful setting!! My absolute favorite place to stay when visiting Fredericksburg! The cabins are adorable and clean it is right down the road from downtown Fredericksburg, but it feels so secluded. The owners are amazing, they once made a cabin available when were in the middle of a day road trip and last minute decided to make it an overnight stay. We have tried to stay on other occasions but they have been completely booked. This is not a surprise though because it is a beautiful place and I can't wait to go back in a few months! read more

We loved our stay last week! We are a family of 4 with 2 small children and they loved staying at the Victorian house! Lots of paths to explore, friendly ducks and creek to play around. The amenities were nice and had a full kitchen! We are at the Club for dinner and had amazing food and a cheese plate. Musician was great playing acoustic old classics. We love the location. Our best friends share the Sunrise and Sunset cabin. The accommodations were very spacious and well kept. My only negative remark is that, I only walked around inside without socks and shoes and my feet and my wife's feet were bitten up by something. Barons Creekside is my favorite Hill Country getaway. It is located in Fredericksburg just a couple of minutes from downtown, yet you feel like you are out in the country. Daniel Meyer created a wonderful little utopia of cabins with a beautiful manmade creek running through it, complete with ducks. I always stay in one of the little Swiss cabins when I am there. They are rebuilt from 200 year old Kentucky cabins and are creatively decorated in a combination Swiss/Texas motif. Before I went the first time, I was a little concerned because the cabins look so close together in the pictures on the website, but I was pleasantly surprised at the privacy. Daniel strategically placed each cabin for optimum privacy. Everything is so well done there; from the creative touches in the cabins to the beauty of the grounds. You feel that it is a labor of love. Fredericksburg is a great town with lots to see and do, but my favorite thing is to just sit and relax on the porch of the cabin with a glass of wine and petting one of sweet little cats while listening to the creek and the birds. read more

We were greeted as we walked up to the club; they knew our name and had our check-in packet ready. The band was playing so we spent a couple of hours there first. We stayed in Wasselfalls; what a delight! Decorated beautifully and great attention to detail. I consider this a hidden gem. GREAT GREAT place to stay. The setting is so relaxing and beautiful - like a little country retreat. The cabins are comfortable, clean and sufficient - but don't go there just for the cabins - go there for the ambiance. It's literally 1 minute from Main Street. Super easy to get to all the restaurants and shopping. But then you get to come home to "total calm". There is a stream, fire pit, sitting areas all along the stream, a hammock and friendly cats. I am giving them 5 stars - but I will say a couple things that will help you before you travel. One of the reasons I chose Baron's Creekside is because I could bring my dog. I will return to Baron's - but I will not bring my dog next time. There are burrs everywhere. He literally could not walk on one inch of grass. The problem is - if they poison them or burn them, they will hurt all the wildflowers - so they are in a bind. I guess the resident cats have learned to spot them out. The other thing is that they are in the category of B&B - but they don't provide breakfast - only orange juice. That's fine with me, I would rather go downtown and have a great German Pancake at The Old German Bakery! So, just don't expect it. And the last thing, bring your own bathroom amenities - the soap was little and pretty lame. It sounds like I am critical - really I am just informing you before you go - and I completely recommend you chose Baron's Creekside!! I will return! read more

This place is magic. It is stunning in every way. Read the books on the coffee table. It will help you appreciate how special it is here. My husband and I enjoyed pointing out the different aspects that came from a time before World War One. The cabin is stunning and very convenient. It has all the modern appointments but is still quant. I loved everything about this cabin and the authentic Swiss touches. Check out the doors and windows. Its just beautiful. We booked several cabins for our destination wedding. We had our ceremony near sunset, at creekside, with 26 in attendance and enjoyed our reception at The Club afterwards. 1) The website doesn't do the property justice! Each cabin is so very unique and well appointed. You don't see how quaint and quiet the place is, even when the property is fully occupied. Take time to actually peruse all that is in each cabin, including reading the books that are there that provide history of the location. 2) The staff is phenomenal! They are so very kind, professional, helpful, accommodating. Daniel, the owner, was whom initially assisted us as we were trying to find a weekend when there were 7-8 cabins available and was so accommodating when we needed to change. He was very prompt in his communications, provided great recommendations and made the transactions and working together remotely, to ensure we had everything taken care of and introduced us to their wonderful property manager, Magen, who handled all of the details so well as Daniel and his wife were in Switzerland when we visited. 3) Everyone enjoyed walking around the property, enjoying the many trails. The kids who were 14 and 18 were never bored as they could easily explore on their own. 4) The ducks are quite entertaining and are your morning wake-up. Pets are allowed in some cabins; therefore, we were also entertained by a few of the visitors cats and dogs as well as the local ones. All were very friendly! 5) The Club is a great place to hang out on the weekends for dinner, drinks, and music - especially when it is on property and a short walk away! The musicians that Daniel booked for the night of our reception were quite good and they were very accommodating in letting my husband and our musician friends join in for a few songs. 6) Jeremy, Magen's husband, did a fabulous job as well. He and Magen do a great job of keeping the property clean, always available for questions - plus, he did a fabulous job of live streaming our ceremony! 7) Anna was in charge of all of our catering - food was great and fresh - and there was definitely plenty. She had everything prepared always on time and made sure we had taken anything leftover. Prices were appropriate for what we had ordered: two breakfasts, an evening of appetizers, reception dinner. I heard nothing but compliments from our friends and family who stayed on the property for three nights with us, or just came in for the ceremony. My wife and I needed a short, relaxing vacation and chose to visit the Texas hill country during early April to view the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush, which were spectacular. As experienced travelers, we highly recommend the Wasserfall cabin within Barons Creekside. You probably cannot go wrong with any cabin, but we can attest to Wasserfall. While convenient to Fredericksburg, Barons Creekside is a "fun & relaxing world" having quiet solitude, beautiful ambiance, and all the necessary conveniences. We enjoyed being by ourselves - with no pressure to "mix" with other people unless you want to. We stayed here during Oktoberfest. "Victorian" unit. This place and property are great we stayed with a few friends. 8 people total. It is great for this type scenario. All units/cabins are walking distance from each other. Met Daniel for a burnt light bulb on check in. He was there right away. Seems like a great guy to deal with. So laid back I am jealous. This place is "quaint" and "rustic" so if u take that into account when booking you will not be disappointed. If u want Waldorf Astoria type accommodations then this place is not for u. The Victorian house is a hundred year old home. Cool eclectic repurposed pieces are all over the place. If I want to split hairs I can be negative as the wifi was sketchy. But that's all I got. Great place. If rustic and quaint does not bother you. Do not hesitate to book this place. I will be back. read more
