if I could, I would give a 0. I bought my jacket in to get some paint cleaned off and a water stain. i was told that it would be hard to take the stain off and they can't guarantee it, i was fine with that. I went to pick up my jacket and there were new stains that weren't there when I brought it in. there were random orange stains on the collar, blue markings on the sleeve, and random lightening/bleaching on my jacket. When I went back in to address my concerns to the women, she automatically became defensive and rude. Stating that the stains were my fault and trying to say it was makeup (I don't even wear makeup) or even that my neck was dirty???Don't come here! read more

This is a review for laundry only, not alterations or dry cleaning: I go to Baron's once a month to drop off my laundry for wash/fold. Amy washes, folds, bags it up for me to pick up. They offer pick up and delivery, but I prefer to go in because I'm close by. Amy is prompt, reliable, clean, and has never lost anything of mine! It's affordably priced for NYC- 95 cents per pound, 7 lb minimum. My laundry always smells clean too. It's great. Normally my total is just under $30. If you drop off before work, it'll be ready same day. Note that they are closed on Sundays though. Hang dry, blankets, sheets, clothes - they do it all. Not having a washer/dryer in unit let alone in the building was an adjustment for me when I moved to the city so having Baron's nearby has been a lifesaver. The drop off wash and fold has changed my life - I love not having to do my laundry and their prices are very favorable. You are also able to ask for things to be hung dry or point out any stains that you would like them to treat when you drop off. I have used their dry cleaning service very minimally but have no complaints. The women that work there are angels - they recognize me and always know where my folded bag of clothes is when I come to pick up. I've been going to Baron's for years since I lived on the block. The drop off wash and fold laundry prices are favorable (under $1/per pound). Dry cleaning is ok too. Sometimes I'd arrive for a pickup, but Amy would apologize (still a stain) and send the item back (offsite). The most conveniently located wash and fold for me! My building has W/D but I had to request a card to use so it was easier and more appealing to just send it out. Plus, I have never figured out how to fold a fitted sheet... I sent out sheets, a duvet cover, and a bunch of standard laundry items that came back perfectly folded, smelled clean, and overall was great. I haven't tried their dry cleaning services yet but my roommate used it and also said it was good. One of her suits had a stubborn stain and they made sure to send it out again for her. The service was quick and price works out to about $0.90 a pound which is pretty good given the time/stress it saves. The people there were also friendly and their hours (7-7 work fairly well as i usually have more time in the morning). read more

Not a bad dry cleaner at all. Extremely friendly service, which is very hard to come by in this city. Any time I go to a place in the city where people are actually NICE to you, I have to give them props. The dry cleaning prices are a bit high, ~$3.50 for a shirt? The level of tailoring is not the greatest, but she does listen. I've had several jeans hemmed, and a couple blazers pulled in - not a bad job overall, but definitely not fantastic. read more

Wash and fold is the life for me! I hate laundry and these angels of the hamper make my day. English is a second language for most of the workers but everyone understands sixty cents per pound. I give them my giant bag o' sweaty gym clothes and the like and a few hours later I get a compact bundle of clothes folded like oragami. Service is great and speedy. read more

I was a loyal customer here for over a year. The woman here did an alright job. But recently she destroyed one of my shirts (of course brand new and expensive). Also found several items in my laundry that were not mine. She refused to take any responsibility for her mistake; refused to apologize; and refused to offer any sort of reimbursement or discount. Instead, she just yelled at me belligerently. NEVER AGAIN. I've seriously never been treated that way before by a person purportedly running a business. read more

Baron's is my go to dry cleaner as the prices are in-line with the area and the turnaround is typically within two business days. They do an overall good job and are easy to work with. However, I wouldn't suggest bringing your clothes for any alterations. I recently paid for an pant leg inseam to be tailored only to notice that the work was never done after the fact. I'll continue to drop my clothes off here, but I'll find another place for any tailor work. read more

Horrible laundry service. The woman who answers the phone barely speaks English so something as simple as scheduling a pickup takes several minutes. I've used them a few times in the past but never again. A few weeks ago she called to say that they wouldn't be delivering my laundry when they were supposed to because someone was sick. Everyone gets sick sometimes so I didn't mind. But now she called again with the same excuse. They also broke buttons off of a dry clean shirt and wouldn't fix it. If you don't mind waiting several days for your clothes then use them. Otherwise, go elsewhere. read more

I put my very expensive coat to dry clean in March 2015. It was a Moncler and the first year using it. They ruined my coat with a stain and after sent back 3 times it came back in tatters and broken. Initially they told me they were insured and that they would reimburse me for the cost of the coat as I had provided my bill for the coat which I had bought in Bloomingdale's. After months, they gave me a check which promptly bounced. I went back and was assured that a second check would not bounce. However, that one bounced too. At this point, I am very angry and frustrated and will be taking the this dry cleaners to small claims court. I also filed a BBB report on them and am expecting some sort of resolution to this.
